hey also. we don’t discuss enough how absolutely sick and deeply horrifying hanks curse is. he’s literally stuck repeating his own mistakes over and over and over again with no memory of past attempts, no ability to learn in between, until he finally meets some unknown arbitrary metric of character development. a good story is not always a good life, but his life cannot end until it has successfully become a good story. the lowkey dehumanization of it REALLY gets me too like this isn’t about Hank, the man, the person - this is about the tale of ill luck Henry. anyways obviously this was inspired by murph’s experiences with metal city mayhem and I for one think he did it an incredible honor

so the dice tell a story, right? henry doesn't crit for the first 6 episodes of eldermourne. he rolls 5 nat 1s, but doesn't crit. jake's first nat 20 of eldermourne is for shank in episode 6

the first nat 20 for henry, though? well, it's his first roll of the fight at the scales. y'know. right after shank says "now's about the time we usually skip town" and henry says "yeah, but let's see what happens if we stick around for a little bit"

henry makes up his mind. truly makes up his mind to stand and fight. and immediately crits for the first time.

NADDPOD is crazy cause one moment it’s the most ridiculous unhinged shit you’ve ever heard and the next I’m crying over the beautiful, scary, and compassionate world that Murph has created.

Jake and Emily have such good dnd chemistry it's insane, and having Hardwon back and seeing him interact with Callie and see Moonshine in her, and seeing Callie interact with Hardwon and trust him the same ways she trusts Calder (asking Calder "If I fall, will you catch me?" then later with Hardwon "I'm gonna run up and go really high in the sky to get closer to that thing, and then I'm gonna land really hard. Can you catch me?") and this being so reminiscent of things Moonshine has done that Hardwon acknowledges it? genuinely I enjoy their interactions in Bahumia a TON, but this isn't even touching on Hank and Fia or Nyack and Onyx

zirk virvain is just the archetype of the mad Victorian scientist but. morally good. like. he drinks piss. he has mommy issues and a gun. his experiments give him free ombre hair dye. he injects sludge into his friends. he got beat up by 40 year old children. twice. he chews on a stirring rod during autopsies. he had sex through a magic bag one time. he found the cure to death. he didn't even bother testing it he just straight up died and it worked. he technically didn't kill god but his friends killed god's daughter which is close enough.
