A witch, a simple alchemist, a captain of a borrowed ship, and nobody's daughter

I have been working on this piece for nearly a week now, and its FINALLY DONE!!!! If you want some PNGs of the character renders, and some of my thoughts on this piece, read below! (warning for spoilers though!)

SO. the season's first off. Henry is in spring, Fia is in summer, Irina is in autumn, and Zirk is in winter.

Henry is in spring because of Leonora's curse. Its the most obvious one.

Irina is in autumn because that's where they found Irina in the Glade.

Zirk is in winter because of his final deal with the winter fairy

Fia's in summer because why not (sorry there's not much behind this)

Below is an outfit detail breakdown for each character!

Henry - he's got spoonie tied onto his belt! - i usually draw hank without any shine in his eyes, but i added a little bit, as i would place this drawing after the final episode. his curse is lifted, so he gets some light back in his eyes - the blue scarf on his waist is mostly just a callback to the ocean, and because i wanted him to have some pop of color - i associate henry with the earth or sea if we're talking in a cosmic sense. - also! henry still wears his ring from izzy, just on the necklace and not a finger. i think he'd be too hopeful/sentimental to let it go.

Fia - emily brings up in a short rest that she associates fia with the moon, which is great cause i do too - her skirt is torn and ripped because i hc she doesn't often mend clothes or doesn't know how to. its also dirty because she lives in the woods. - the shawl she wears would have probably been a gift from batilda. it has sword embroidery on the hem, so it was a first act of training fia as a blade.

Irina - i really wanted irina to feel ethereal, since she's the daughter of a god. its why her eyelashes are white, but zirk's aren't. its also why she has silver freckles - patchwork dress! not just because its mentioned in the episode, but because fia likes people who make their own clothes. - i kiiinda associate irina with the sun, but i moreso associate her with the stars. the night sky needs both the moon and stars, always together <3

Zirk - i wanted to include zirk's little stirstick from his art and ep 1, so i'm glad i got to do that! - zirk's lineart has so many layers because of the glass bottles. - all the metal with zirk is bronze, because i wanted him to keep a warm palette, and felt gold would clash too much - those sleeves can roll down and make this labcoat regulation i prommy, he's just too busy serving

Murph: But, eventually, fatigue overtakes you, and you fall into a deep sleep. And you have a strange dream. Fia: What? Murph: Fia, you are standing in the middle of a barren landscape. And, after a bit… you feel a warmth behind you, as someone stands back to back with you. You look down, and see the back of her hand against yours, [The Prodigal Sister begins playing.] Murph: But you can't turn around to look. Fia: I know this is just a dream, and you are just a figment of my mind, but-- Irina? Irina: Have you come to save me again, Fi? Fia: I-- I mean, I don't want to say I'm saving you, right, because that's kind of like a loaded thing, but I'm-- I just. The Guardians, they asked me to take care of you, and-- ah, to take care of you, that sounds patronizing to, I-- I'm just… I'm just worried about you. Murph: You hear Irina laugh, um, and she goes-- Irina: I have been worried about you, too, Fi. Fia: Really? Irina: Of course. I think about you all the time. Fia: Wh-- Where are you. I'm in Endoterra. Irina: I'm right here with you. You and I, we have a connection, and it's easier to reach in our subconscious and when we're within physical proximity of each other. I'm… in the castle. Fia: Is this real? Is this like… really real? Is this you or me? Irina: This is… both of us. I have had prophetic dreams that you and I would meet again.

Murph: She-- she grabs you and she goes-- Irina: Fi! It is so good to see you! Fia: You're real! Irina: Of course I'm real! Fia: You're actually really real! Irina: I'm right here! Fia: I-- Oh, my goodness gracious! Emily (narrating as Fia): Um, I-- I hug her. I like, put my little hands through her hair, I am just like-- Oh my g-- I touch her all over being like-- You're real. You're not a fiction of my dream! And I just say-- Fia: Oh my god, you're real.

Emily (narrating as Fia): I look up to Mister Hank. [Gunvar plays in the background.] Emily (narrating): and I look down at Irina, and I say-- Fia, crying: God, you were my fucking dream for so fucking long, but these people are my reality. And it is by your actions that one of them has died. And you tried to kill more of them. And I-- [sobs] will miss you so much. [Caldwell sobs in the background.] Fia, sobbing: But I-- [sobs] I cannot support this. Mister Henry, kill her.

Murph: You see, uh, she looks at Zirk. And her hands hit the grass, and she starts like-- spider crawling away. Irina: Nononononono. Fia: No! Stay here! Irina: Nononononono. Nonononono. Fia: What are you running away from? Irina, distressed: I did not do this! I am nn--! (breathes heavily) Fia, seriously: Irina. Your actions, or rather your sister's actions, led to this. At least stick around to try to right it. Irina: Fi, it was as if-- it was as if I was... outside of my own body. Fia: I know. I know it wasn't yo-- Irina, with increasing intensity: And everything made sense. I was angry, and I was right. I was just right. Someone was mad at me, and they were wrong, and they deserved to die. And they were just wrong, Fi. But it wasn't real, Fi. Fia: I know. Irina: It was a dream, Fi. Fia: It wasn't a dream! Irina: It was like a dream. Fia: Irina, it may have felt like a dream to you but it had very real repercussions to us! Anger is a fucking drug! You took a fucking drug, and now there are fucking consequences to deal with!

Fia: Okay, I will help in whatever way I can. ["Irina" begins playing.] I can picture her very vividly still. I don't know whether it is true, or if I have made up a version of her, but she's still so strong in my mind. Sienna: Do you sense her arrival? Murph: Uh, and-- and looks at you, Fia. Fia: Do I? Murph: Um, and just then… you guys see a figure. Deep in the distance, in the maze of trees. ["Irina" begins playing. Fia gasps softly.] She's radiating with magical energy, surrounded by these swirling green sprites. Fia: It just kind of flowed from her very effortlessly. In fact, when I knew her, I… ah, I did not have a spell to my name really. I-- I-- I was not magical at all. The most magical thing about me was her probably. Murph: Yeah, Fia, you have this strong, strong memory of this magical girl that you grew up with in this very un-magical place. Just this burst of color in this grey world. Murph: She wears a multicolored cloak that she's clearly made herself. Murph: She has the looks of like, a bandit. Like, kind of like [Emily: Yeah.] patchwork clothes and things like that. [Emily: Yeah.] Of-- of like somebody who's like stolen armor. Fia: Okay. Henry: So it's gonna be like that. Fia: This is gonna be a problem because I actually really like you, because you seem sweet, because you made your own clothing, so… Emily: I am going to just…. ooh, I really don't wanna hurt her. Murph: And, um, she's kind of looking around. It looks like she probably just plane shifted here, and is a little bit like-- she's like staring around in wonder. Because, you know, even as somebody who's inherently magical she probably hasn't been to groves before. Um, or if she has, they're still beautiful every time you go to one. So, she looks around. Emily: Okay. I think I-- I take a moment to enjoy the pleasure of seeing her before she sees me. Fia: She is like a pressed flower in my mind. Murph: Yeah! You see uh, she smiles. She's got these, uh, little tusks that pop out, just like you Fia. Emily: Does she still wear her hair long? Fia: She loved honey cakes, but she would never finish one. She always gave the rest to the birds. Um, she had long silver hair that sometimes I would braid, but she didn't know how to braid her own hair. How funny is that! Sometimes I wonder, did you want me to braid your hair and that's why you never learned? Murph: She still wears her hair very long. She's got, uh, her silver hair goes all the way down her back. Fia: Okay-- ooh! Thank you. Silver is my favorite color. Yes, let's do this! Emily: I think then I can't help myself. I say, like-- Fia: I'm glad you kept it long. Murph: Um, you-- you-- you say-- Fia: It's such a beautiful color. There should be as much of it as possible.
