v. Long Live the King — [ Source!Damon AU ]

Damon was tricked by the Seer into hosting the essence of the Source (because the Underworld has to have a Source, and they have gone far too long without one since Belthazor and his unborn heir were vanquished). Now he’s stuck with the job, despite the fact he doesn’t want it, and has gone from a lowly upper-level Darklighter to the Source of All Evil, the ruler of the Underworld. He is very much not happy about it, but until he can find another demon (Zankou, hopefully) to take on the mantle, he doesn’t have much of a choice.

v. Prince of Shadows — [ teen!Damon ]

General verse where Damon is a teenaged (16-19) Darklighter-witch, with his mother being a lower-level witch and his father being a Darklighter. He came into his powers when he was thirteen years old but grew up knowing about his family’s magic.

v. Witch Hunt — [ Post Season 8 AU ]

The United States federal government knows about the existence of magic, and decided its experiment in 2006 on a demon to create super soldiers was a fluke. Now, it wants to capture various magical creatures (demons, Darklighters, witches, Whitelighters) to study and experiment on before going any further with plans to create military super-soldiers (or possibly create a drug to sell on the black market to humans that will temporarily give them magical powers).

The next generation of witches have gone underground, with Melinda and Wyatt Halliwell reopening both Camelot and Avalon as a refuge for witches, Whitelighters who can’t get back to the heavens, and other members of the magical community.

Damon, for his part, is in hiding, but given how active he’s been in the mortal world over the past decades, he knows it’s only a matter of time until he’s tracked down and captured.

v. Die Schatten der Nacht — [ Shadowhunters ]

Damon has moved to Brooklyn, New York, to investigate the increase of demonic activity and rumors of the return of the Shadowhunter Valentine Morgenstern and his Circle of followers, as well as the reappearance of the Mortal Cup.

As a Darklighter, Shadowhunters would consider him a sort of fallen angel—and since he’s mostly concerned with assassinating other angels (read: Whitelighters), he’s not too interested in the affairs of the Nephilim. But since he is comparable to a fallen angel, any children he does sire with human women would be considered “warlocks” by the Shadowhunters’ definition (really, human/demon hybrids are cambions, and he will correct Shadowhunters who call them warlocks, because they’re not oathbreakers) and those he potentially sires with half-Whitelighters or even full Whitelighters would be considered faeries by the Shadowhunters. For the most part, the children he does have with human women are born with Darklighter abilities, but an incomplete dominant inheritance results in them looking like “warlocks” (cambions) to the Clave.

Given that Damon is mostly in the underworld when he’s not on Earth and that he mostly stays out of the affairs of the Nephilim, whether they classify him as a demon or a fallen angel his kind is not going to be one they are very familiar with. Especially since he’s not your standard assassin Darklighter and is focused more on procreation.

Damon doesn’t, however, think very highly of the Shadowhunters—nor does he appreciate them meddling in his affairs or those of witches, cambions, warlocks, werewolves, and the rest of the larger magical community (on both sides). He especially has a rather high disdain for the Clave, but he doesn’t want Valentine to succeed in his goals either.

v. Welcome to Mystic Falls — [ CW's The Vampire Diaries ]

Damon relocated from San Francisco to the town of Mystic Falls, Virginia, in the early 2010s to investigate the rise of supernatural activity there, especially after hearing rumors through the Underworld grapevine of the town being a hotspot for vampires, werewolves, and powerful witch practitioners. The vampires and werewolves have both cut themselves off from the rest of the Underworld centuries ago (actually, the Source of All Evil before Belthazor took up the mantle had exiled the vampires, and the werewolves followed suit not long after), and Damon wants to see what they’re up to.
