Halliwell Manor Exterior

Around March of 2021, I embarked on an exciting journey: recreating the Halliwell Manor, a project both ambitious and deeply personal.

To begin, I chose a smaller lot (40x30) to draft the rough layout of the house. This early version allowed me to focus on fine-tuning key details and striking a balance between the house’s proportions and achieving screen accuracy.

Once I was satisfied with the results of the initial build, I decided to move the house to its current, larger 64x64 lot. This allowed me to expand the surrounding environment, working on the layout of the terrain, the main garden, the kitchen garden, and other exterior elements that would enhance the property's character.

Designing the terrain and landscaping was a new challenge in itself. I aimed to craft an exterior that not only complimented the manor's charm but also aligned with its late Victorian Stick-style architecture, which features light Japanese influences.

To achieve this, I delved into researching garden layouts from the Late Victorian era. This study offered valuable insights into the use of pathways, fountains, sculptures, plants, flowers, and various outdoor features that would make the manor feel both believable and historically authentic. For reference I used the following texts: A. J. Downing - Cottage Residences (1856) Scott T. Hanson - Restoring Your Historic House (2019) a fundamental book on historical restoration and preservation. Virginia Savage McAlester - A field Guide to American Houses (2014) Frank J. Scott - Victorian Gardens (1870) Frank J. Scott - The Art of Beautifying Suburban Home Grounds (1881)

For now, I wanted to share this update about the exterior of the manor. A follow-up post focused on the interior will come soon—a part of the project I’ve never shared publicly before. I hope you enjoy these glimpses into this ongoing journey!

Who did you think would win in a battle?

Wyatt Halliwell or Hope Mikaelson?

Definitely Wyatt Halliwell! Mostly because I haven't actually watched a single episode of any of the Vampire Diaries shows yet, so I have no idea who Hope is. (The main character in Legacies, I think?) (Don't worry, it's on my to watch list, my watch list is just really long atm.) I will say though that Wyatt is gonna be my answer for most situations. (Also thanks for the chance to do a little meta about Wyatt and his powers.)

From an objective standpoint in regards to powers, Wyatt wins against pretty much anything. I've said before and I'll say it again, I believe that Wyatt managed to break the Grand Design in the unchanged future with the exposure of magic, and I think that means he was able to kill some beings that he should not have traditionally been able to, aka the Cleaners and maybe even the Angel(s) of Destiny. (Which also loops into one of my now favorite headcanons that prophecies are made as a warning that a witch capable of breaking the Grand Design is coming.)

The catch, and how I'm able to write Wyatt in literally any conflict in my next gen fics, is that he has a critical weakness: he is terrified at the possibility of what he's capable of. (I have also mentioned that interpretation before, in connection with how Billie unintentionally makes it worse.) That kind of power is a lot for one person to handle, and Wyatt outclasses quite literally everyone around him by a large margin. I think that in a sense, his own fear serves as a kind of limiter on his power because he won't use them to the fullest extent. This is partially because he doesn't fully know what he's capable of because he doesn't experiment with his powers or push boundaries the same way that Chris does. While Wyatt has that kind of power, he lacks a greater amount of control and precision because he doesn't practice.

In a situation where Wyatt does go full-out, however, I think that he wins, no question. It's incredibly rare for him to do so, but one of his primary powers (projection) is a version of reality warping, y'know? That's not even getting into the fact that he has energy waves that can flat-out incinerate enemies without even trying. The challenge is getting him to a place where he doesn't hold back.

in  high  school  ,  kendra  became  much  more  aware  of  who  exactly  her  mother  was  .  she'd  always  known  her  mother  rode  motorcycles  and  ran  a  club  but  after  her  father's  unfortunate  passing  ,  the  young  girl  watched  as  her  mom  threw  herself  into  the  club  and  into  deseo  .  kendra  wasn't  allowed  to  slack  on  her  grades  or  her  extracurriculars  but  neither  was  her  mom  ,  who  was  determined  to  create  not  just  a  legacy  for  herself  within  the  diablos  but  smth  for  her  kids  to  take  on

when  kendra  got  into  tulane  ,  it  was  to  no  one's  real  shock  .  her  first  year  there  ,  studying  business  ,  it  went  fine  .  her  first  three  years  were  fine  .  it  wasn't  until  her  senior  year  ,  a  little  worn  out  with  the  party  scene  ,  did  she  return  home  for  a  weekend  only  to  find  out  her  mother  typically  took  fridays  off  to  drive  to  houston  and  manage  one  of  her  other  businesses  .  kendra  ,  with  a  sudden  and  slightly  uncharacteristic  urge  to  raise  a  little  hell  ,  snuck  over  to  deseo  and  convinced  the  manager  to  let  her  on  stage  for  a  short  five  minute  show  before  the  club  got  too  packed  .  there  was  a  lot  of  hemming  and  hawing  but  soon  enough  ,  she  was  spinning  around  the  pole  and  had  earned  herself  a  smooth  $500

a  deal  was  struck  ,  she  performed  under  the  name  diamond  on  fridays  ,  nobody  was  to  tell  her  mother  ,  and  she'd  live  out  whatever  little  bad  girl  fantasy  she'd  cooked  up  in  her  head  until  she  graduated  .  and  she  was  a  hit  ,  making  hundreds  every  friday  ,  a  star  in  the  making  at  one  point  .except  of  course  her  mother  found  out  and  when  she  did  ,  she  tore  kendra  new  one  .  for  once  ,  she  stood  up  for  herself  ,  asserting  that  if  she  couldn't  dance  at  deseo  ,  she'd  just  do  it  somewhere  else  .  the  two  women  faced  off  and  for  once  ,  kendra  won  . 

she  continued  to  attend  school  ,  except  she  got  her  masters  at  university  of  houston  for  an  easier  weekly  commute  ,  and  was  set  to  quit  after  she  recieved  her  last  diploma  …  and  then  she  met  lee  .

another  stab  to  her  mother's  gut  ,  lee  was  not  the  kind  of  man  queenie  had  wanted  kendra  to  end  up  with  but  it  was  who  she  got  ,  especially  after  the  two  ran  off  together  .  she  swore  that  she  had  never  been  happier  than  she  was  for  those  brief  six  months  .

their  divorce  was  her  choice  ,  a  sign  of  her  stubbornness  truly  ,  because  she'd  regretted  even  asking  for  a  divorce  as  soon  as  she  had  uttered  the  words  .  however  ,  she  stuck  to  her  guns  and  filed  the  paperwork  .  she  went  back  to  her  mother's  house  with  her  tail  tucked  and  dedicated  her  time  to  deseo  .  she  was  the  one  who  spearheaded  the  renovation  project  ,  turning  the  club  into  the  two  floor  ,  three  stage  ,  high  end  powerhouse  it  is  now  .  when  her  mother  retired  two  years  ago  ,  she  signed  ownership  of  the  club  to  kendra  ,  with  the  promise  that  she  would  continue  to  pay  a  percentage  of  her  earnings  to  the  club  and  let  them  carry  out  business  there  .  easy  ,  not  a  problem  .

now  ,  she's  the  big  boss  in  charge  and  she  loves  it  .  her  social  life  is  pretty  bland  ,  has  been  since  the  divorce  but  she  acts  like  she  doesn't  mind  it  .  really  ,  she's  sort  of  miserable  ,  sitting  in  her  house  with  her  pink  furniture  and  her  rottweiler  ,  wishing  she  was  still  the  wild  girl  she'd  been  when  she  was  on  that  stage  or  riding  around  with  lee  .

Charmed Review: horror TV series with female essence

Three witches destined for magic greatness, the Charmed ones as they are popularly known, drew great TV following with their supernatural-effects among the dedicated TV viewers. Prudence Prue Halliwell (Shannen Doherty), the eldest sister who had the power of telekinesis; Piper Halliwell, the witch who has the power to freeze molecules; and Phoebe Halliwell, the youngest and rebellious sister who has the power of premonition these three blood-bound witches became the most powerful witches of all time. Enduring for eight long seasons, these three magically captured the hearts of televiewers with the whisk of the hands and catchy incantations.

However, even with their apparent control over their powers, these cool and modern-day witches have constantly faced, lost to, but, eventually managed to get over with daily wiccan stresses. In one episode, Piper cried a river because the Elders, supreme protectors of good, had to take her husband away from her. Even as she experienced what seemed like an anxiety disorder, she vowed with all her witchly powers that she will one day get her husband back.

Leo (Brian Krause), Piper’s husband also had his share of panic, or anxiety attacks. He discovered that his son Chris, was killed by their trusted friend Gideon who was also an Elder. He wreaked havoc as he hurled thunder from his arms and shot it across the room. These manifestations of anxiety attacks was due to his overwhelming grief over his son’s early demise.

Another turning point of the Charmed Life series was when their eldest sister Prue died because time was manipulated by the Source (highest demon). The remaining witches grew skeptical about their destiny and found themselves on the verge of breaking point. Good thing is, the power of three was reconstituted with the advent of their half-sister Paige. Paige Matthews, was the daughter of Paricia Halliwell, the Charmed Trio’s mother. However, Piper, the closest to Prue, gave Paige a hard time because she did not let go of Prue’s memory. With her grief and anxiety attacks, she became a creature called Fury, a curse that almost made her destroy her own sister. In the end, she did managed to bring her emotions across to the right place Prue’s grave.

Even though blessed with wiccan powers, Piper, Phoebe, and Paige, constantly struggled with different emotions that no spell can totally dispel. But the good things is, as always perceived in the TV series their most trusted power over mind boggling trivialities and blood thirsty enemies are not their wiccan gifts. Their answer is their sisterly bond — which also became their best anxiety relief. Sisterhood, not their inherent powers, was their best anxiety relief and power against all that the underworld can hurl at them.In the end, after years of wiccan supremacy, the Charmed Ones managed to keep their family legacy, which was written in their book, The Book of Shadows.

josie is canon compliant up to season four ! post legacies ;

josie's solo travels came to an end when wyatt halliwell outed the existence of the supernatural. they found it too dangerous to be separated from lizzie and hope and quickly made her way back to them. falling in line with the resistance was easy as it was something that josie firmly believed in. neither wyatt nor the initiative were right in their eyes so it was a no brainer.

working with the resistance felt natural, it was a cause josie wholeheartedly believed in. they would have stayed with them until the end if it hadn't been for that curse. it hadn't been meant for josie, but for chris. hurled in the halliwell's direction, though instead it was josie who leapt forward and took it. the second the magic touched her, the darkness of their own was thrust forward. while josie had been trying to integrate the dark version of themself over the years, she wasn't entirely successful. still fearful of those bits of themself.

now dark josie was at the helm, in control of the body while jo clamored inside to break free. at first dark josie believed that having the curse running through their veins, keeping them at the front, that they had a fountain of dark magic they could siphon at the drop of a hat. they'd used it for a bit, until they could feel the curse weaken, the fight of the version locked inside her was getting stronger. dark josie couldn't afford to be pushed aside again.

they believed their survival was in ripping themself away from the family that would so surely try and bring them back. wyatt's cause appealed to them of course. switching sides was obvious. dark jo kept as much physical distance from lizzie, hope, chris, & the rest of their family as they could. they didn't want the josie inside to feel that they had anything to fight for. especially when at times they could feel her battle for control of the body.

now with them back in the past, keeping distance wasn't as easy as before. in fact it gave the josie inside them some new hope. dark josie can feel her days are numbered and that is a very dangerous place to be.
