From the furthest Eastern edge of Canada comes the second edition of Heavy NFLD Fest. Taking place over three days in three venues across two cities,…
It was so sick to see The Birchmen return to the stage for Heavy NFLD Fest at The Rockhouse this year. Easily one of the sickest bands in town, their brand of proggy stoner-sludge is catchy, heavy, and (ironically) evergreen.
Häg are a force to be reckoned with. It’s been a long time since this atmospheric doom powerhouse has graced the stage but they chose to reinvigorate themselves into the local scene through this year’s Heavy NFLD Fest 2024 at The Rockhouse. Seeing them perform songs from their stellar debut self-titled record was mesmerizing.
Heavy NFLD Fest 2024 kicks off in both Corner Brook and St. John’s! If you’re in Fogtown come on down to The Rockhouse for the first show of three: Friday, July 19th.
We’ve got a stacked lineup of locals featuring Bog Rot, Mantra, Sons of an Eastern Moon, Of the Black, Vertebraeker, and the return of THREE bands: The Tangerine Machine, Häg, AND The Birchmen to the stage!
You won’t want to miss this. Doors open at 8:30 PM and the show starts at 9:30 PM. Let’s get heavy!
PS: For those asking tickets are still available at the door.
Little Fauna brought a different vibe to the stage at Pavlov’s Electric Verandah for Heavy NFLD Fest this year. Their brand of grungy, sublime alt / garage rock was a nice surprise in amongst the more blatant aggressive acts that dominated the lineup.
Sons of an Eastern Moon have become a long-standing staple of the Newfoundland metal community, and they rocked our socks off at The Rockhouse for Heavy NFLD Fest this year. This was my first time catching the band with Angus MacKenzie on guitar and Alex Wells on drums, and both have settled perfectly into their respective roles with this folk metal powerhouse.
