Y'know, I find it really interesting (and hilarious) that somebody can Corrode into something that looks even freakier (or at least weirder) than the E.G.O's source Abnormality. I have to wonder if they could freak/weird-out their matching Abnormalities lmao.
Putting a bunch of text under the cut.
Using the E.G.Os/Abnos in the images as examples:
The Rose Hunter is at least arsed to look vaguely like a normal dude 90% of the time (discounting his thorny stem/root lower half as seen in the E.G.O splash art background for Hong Lu's version of Lasso). Corroded Lasso Faust is similar. Corroded Lasso Hong Lu, however, is basically a rose with two long stems tied into lassos and his "lower body" connected directly to the horse, with only part of his ponytail left. Not even getting into the fact that both his "torso" and the horse's abdomen are "bleeding" rose petals and the fact that the horse's rein is tied around Hong Lu's neck akin to a noose. He actually reminds me a bit of a Nuckelavee with the really long arms and being directly connected to the horse.
The Heavenly Executioner's Scribe is a pretty simple statue-looking thing. Meur's Corrosion is a bit funky with the little hands on his wings, his floating hands, and funky mask... But his Corrosion is nothing compared to whatever the hell Corroded Pursuance Rodion has going on lmao. She's got chains and she seems to have eyes on her eyes. Eyes for days.
Der Fluchschütze is a variant of Der Freischütz but red, basically. Pretty simple design, nothing fancy. Both of the Fell Bullet Corrosions are pretty goddamn weird compared to Der Fluchschütze's design, with Heathcliff's version turning him into a giant heart filled with guns while Yi Sang's version turns him into a sentient reflection stuck in a jury-rigged mirror+gun setup, but Yi Sang's version of Fell Bullet isn't in the game yet, so we do not have the sprite, so I just put Heathcliff's Fell Bullet Corrosion there. To be fair, it deserves to be here. Der Fluchschütze would definitely be confused as to how it could cause... that.
The Dreaming Electric Sheep is... Well, it's a sheep alright. With really long, clawed legs and a bunch of spikes sticking out of its wool, but it's a sheep alright. Meur Corrodes into this E.G.O hard. Compared to Don's Corrosion, he goes full Sheep. Which just makes me wonder why he's got that weird Demogorgon-looking meat-flower-flap face in his attack, while the Dreaming Electric Sheep's version of the "Electric Screaming" attack does not have that. Sheep Meur, y u have weird meat flower face. His head is also inside the wool 90% of the time for some reason...

My OC, Lexra, and Pursuance.
Hey yall, with Limbus finally coming out I was inspired to make an EGO portrait of one of my OCs and Heavenly Executor’s Scribe aka the abnormality that Meursault got his angel drip from. I thought it was pretty fitting since Lexra is a member of the Index, while the abnormality’s mirror dungeon encounter shows that it blindly records but not judges the word of its deity.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"The word will be followed." / "It is not by my judgement that you are condemned."
The EGO attack would be similar to Meursault's but Pierce instead, and goes spinny. Corrosion summons a divine blender.

Doppel descriptions...for Corrosions.
Tumblr media
Doppel of judgment. Its form is a heavenly executor’s scribe. The master of this emotion doesn’t seem to mind it, but remains slightly annoyed with its intentions. A doppel that is always seeking something to judge, part of its body consists of eyes that can move in any direction and see everything. As soon as it sees something that has received a guilty verdict, it locks on to its target, swiftly enacting justice’...but in practice, it will try to execute just about anything, using its hypnotizing eyes to entrance the victim before killing it. The master knows that hiding from it is pointless, but becomes entirely engrossed by it in such a way that her face is formed into its eye itself.
Tumblr media
Doppel of earnest wishes. Its form is a pagoda veneration. The master of this emotion has very sincere desires she tries to show, thus this doppel has familiarized itself with that part of her. However, it has grown frustrated with too many stones placed without a shred of sincerity, so it has started assuming that no one is truly earnest. This means that, instead of placing another stone on the cairn, it will decidedly bash anything it finds with a large rock until it finds no more insincerity in its target. Meanwhile, the master remains oblivious to the fact that if the world is entirely rid of insincerity, it will believe that its master’s wish is already fulfilled.
Tumblr media
Doppel of seeking. Its form is a wayward passenger. The master of this emotion fully loses his humanity when it is summoned, and has no control over its actions. As it has lost its way, it tirelessly keeps opening and closing dimensions in the faint hope it will ever find home. If it encounters something at the place it wants to be, anger overtakes it and will violently try to remove them from the spot. The numerous sharp teeth on the inside of its body and its blade-like limb often cause the victim to become unrecognizably mutilated. However, the master cannot see anything of this, so he genuinely believes that it isn’t caused by him.
Tumblr media
Doppel of abuse. Its form is a backstreets watchdog. The master of this emotion resonates highly with it and is easily overtaken by it. This doppel is a lump of obedience that is constantly led by the electricity that keeps striking it. It does nothing on its own except sit there until it is stirred to move, at which it becomes absolutely rabid, howling and clawing at anything without regard for its identity. Its master appears powerless to stop it, hanging limply on its body, but his movements show that at least a sliver of him remains aware. That is likely to be what remains of his rationality in this state.

Do you have any thoughts on Pursuance Meursault? His rejection of faith was pretty important in the book so him having this EGO sticks out a whole lot
So, I'm just gonna preface this by saying I Have Not Read the Stranger. That being said, I'll give it my best shot anyway.
Under the cut now! Shoo!
As always, let's start with the Abnormality. Heavenly Executor's Scribe, while sparse in information, is Extremely Clear about its themes. It's very explicitly described as only noting down and following the judgements of someone else, while not assessing what it writes down on its own.
It refuses to cast down its own judgement, and refuses to doubt the judgement of others. We can see that in how it accepts the Sinners' opinion of its tablet regardless of whether they read it or destroy it.
The parallel with our Mr. Refuses To Cast Moral Judgement here is very, very clear. Just like the Scribe, Meursault simply follows orders of those in authority without question, and accepts whatever opinion others have of him.
Another thing to note is the religious angle of the Abnormality. Heavenly Executor's Scribe, and the Pursuance E.G.O by proxy, have very clear design references to angels and heaven, and seem to be referencing the Biblical idea that angels have no free will, simply being vehicles through which God acts.
The connection between religion and oppression through judgement is absolutely not lost on me here, especially with the Abnormality's name calling the higher power it follows the Heavenly Executor. It is merely the secretary of the True Judge, Jury, and Executioner that is this interpretation of God. Which, while I'm calling attention to the concept of Judgement and Execution... that should sound Extremely Familiar to those of you who have read the Stranger, now shouldn't it?
Now onto the Sin Analysis, because that's the part I feel most comfortable with.
Pursuance's Sin damage is Sloth, which is a Sin associated with apathy and inaction, as we can see from the base E.G.Os of Gregor and Yi Sang. Likewise, Sloth as Pursuance's main Sin means exactly what one might think it means for Meursault - apathy towards the judgement and orders made by those of authority. He doesn't assess them on his own, he simply follows them to the letter.
For the Sin requirements, we have Sloth, Pride, and Gloom. Sloth I already covered in how it reflects Meursault's apathy and lack of own opinion towards the judgement and orders he is told to follow, so let's focus on the other two.
In my interpretation of the Sins, Pride represents actions taken for their benefits with their consequences being ignored. This, I think, is reflected in what Pursuance represents. Meursault is following orders because that's what he believes benefits him, regardless of whatever harm he may be inflicting by doing so. After all, following what the judging party says is better than standing out and being judged himself.
The last Sin requirement here is Gloom, and that's the one I'm most intrigued by. I interpret Gloom as actions taken under the pressure of negative emotions. As such, I think Meursault requiring Gloom to use Pursuance actually repaints the context of his actions in a somewhat sympathetic light. It implies that severe emotional stress is part of what pushes him to do this. And really, can you blame him? Knowing that the authority whose orders you're following could at any point turn its judgement against you can't be conductive to good mental health.
As for the dialogue lines, there's some interesting implications to them, I think.
His Awakening line has him promise to "pray for someone", which is generally considered to be a way of giving someone blessing, to be hoping that something good happens to them. However, that's not what Meursault is talking about here. His line here implies that by praying for someone, by turning his God's attention towards someone, he is actually doing the opposite. That by praying for someone, he is ensuring that that someone will break.
By praying for someone when his God is Judge, Jury, and Executioner, he is effectively ensuring Holy Judgement upon this person. And well, Meursault very much feels like the type of person to understand how horrible it feels to be judged for everything, doesn't he.
On the other hand, his Corroded line ties back to something else I already mentioned in this analysis. You know the whole thing of Meursault blindly following orders because he knows the authority could very easily judge him instead? Yeah, this line basically confirms it. It confirms that, while everyone around him is on thin ice, the ice he's on is even thinner. If he ever messes up, it doesn't matter who else messed up, he's the one getting punished. He's the one who won't be forgiven. He's the one who Shan't Be Pardoned.
...Fun fact, analyzing Meursault's E.G.Os is how I truly started to appreciate him as a character.

Whenever I see art of pursuance Meursault I lose my mind a little cos not only is it an awesome EGO but also it's the way that like, Meursault of all characters getting the EGO that is representative of angels when he's vehemently against religion, or at least he is in l'etranger. And pursuance being the heavenly executor's scribe when Meursault was executed it's just... gestures wildly around. There's something here.

Right, so ... the Fell Bullet × Pursuance AU. I finally have coherent thoughts that I can post.
Fell Bullet!Heathcliff is somewhere between mortal and demon--he's not completely human, but he's also not completely inhuman, either. Keeping in line with the story associated with the Abnormality from which this E.G.O originates, Heathcliff was once a human who loved someone (Catherine) dearly, but he's long since forgotten her as part of his deal with Der Fluchschütze. He's also "undead," in a sense--his heart no longer beats, yet he remains "alive." His soul has fallen, but his body remains on the mortal plain.
Pursuance!Sherry is a more angelic being, and is able to travel freely between "the heavens" and the mortal realm--the latter being a post-apocalyptic setting wreathed in red smoke (this is based on the background for Fell Bullet's E.G.O). Since she's an executioner, her job is to roam the moral plain and find lost souls, who she then interrogates and passes judgement on based on the rules set by Heavenly Executor's Scribe (the Abnormality her E.G.O is from). Sherry does have a beating heart, despite not being human.
Since Fell Bullet!Heathcliff is cursed to wander the earth for eternity, he eventually catches sight of Pursuance!Sherry while she's busy carrying out an interrogation, though he avoids approaching her. Afterwards, he often sees her soaring overhead, and always hides himself from her if she gets too close--he's curious about her, but he's also shy. Sherry stirs familiar feelings in Heathcliff's chest, which puzzles him since his heart should no longer be working, and yet here he is, experiencing what can best be described as "love."
When the two do finally meet, it's a rather awkward encounter, but it becomes very clear to both of them that the other is special. But, while Sherry is driven by curiosity and wishes to understand why she feels this way about him, Heathcliff is more withdrawn, feeling more fear than anything else. He does like Sherry--quite a bit, in fact--but the feelings are almost painful for him, since he knows he's felt this way about someone before, but he can't remember who they were.
On top of that, Heathcliff is scared that he'll somehow "taint" Sherry--an angelic being--by touching her, which makes him extra cautious around her. He does everything in his power to avoid physical contact with her, but, eventually, they do end up touching--a simple brush of hands--and when Heathcliff realizes nothing bad happens to Sherry, he's more open to her caresses.
They do have to keep their connection a secret, however--a heavenly being falling in love with a fallen being is unheard of, and wouldn't go over well with either of the Abnormalities the two serve.

Some things that I thought about while looking at EGOs.
A lot of them are symbolic for something in the Sinner's life. I might possibly be late to the party. So, we'll be looking at 3 examples for now, because these 3 are the one's I've been thinking about the most.
I. Meursault
"Sun's out, guns out"
Tumblr media
I've seen someone here say that this EGO metaphorically represents how Meursault is chained by what other people expect from him. So it follows that Meursault's other EGOs are what people expect him to be/see him as.
Tumblr media
Screwloose Wallop/Do You Want To Get Beat? Hurtily? represents how other people might see Meursault as mindless muscle. Considering that Meursault won't do anything until Dante says so, this is probably where that comes from.
Tumblr media
Pursuance/Heavenly Executor's Scribe represents how some people might see Meursault as this tireless, perfect, yet unnatural being. I say unnatural cuz biblically accurate angels? horrifying.
Tumblr media
Lastly for Meursault, Capote/Brazen Bull. But being brazen isn't exactly what you'd think of Meursault. I think that Meursault has this EGO because he's repping the matador attire instead of the bull. Meursault is usually very calm, much like how a matador would be despite a very angry bull charging right at them. This EGO likely represents how people expect Meursault to be cool and collected, even in dire situations.
Next up is...
II. Ishmael
"i can and will teach you how to tie a knot"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These two are put together for an obvious reason. Ishmael wants to catch up to someone for, judging from her trailer and from her inspiration from Moby Dick, reasons of vengeance. So it stands to reason that both Roseate Desire and Snagharpoon are all about getting someone closer to her, or stopping them entirely in Roseate Desire's Corrosion.
(Helping with the vengeance bit is that both EGOs require Wrath. I'm assuming that Snagharpoon represents Ishmael being sad about her crew dying, since that requires Gloom, and being angry about it, while Roseate is the actual obsession with whoever she's (was?)* trying to find, since it costs Lust.) <--- this was added when I searched up the Sin costs in case that was relevant.
What's weird to me though is that Roseate's animation is just Snagharpoon's but reimagined. I mean, seriously both have Ishmael tossing something, bringing it back, and smacking the opponent. Roseate's associated Sin is Lust, but I'm guessing that Lust in this game represents obssession rather than actual horniness.
Tumblr media
"If that bastard is really dead, I might have nothing to chase after."
Following with the obsession, she also has Capote. However, compared to Meursault's Capote, Ishmael actually represents the Brazen Bull this time. This EGO probably represents as long as she sees even a hint of 'red', she'll keep chasing after the 'bastard'.
This EGO costs 2 Wrath, 2 Lust, and 1 Sloth. I think that the Sloth represents how she isn't really working towards any other goal other than the revenge mission she was(?)* on, which is, I guess, a sort of laziness?
Tumblr media
Ishmael's last EGO, Ardor Blossom Star/Ardor Blossom Moth. This is the one I'm most iffy on. The art displays what seems to be burnt corpses beneath her, which makes me think of her likely dead crew. Her line during regular EGO seems to bring them in mind too, though I might be reaching on this.
"Though I cannot guide you... I can offer a warm embrace."
This makes the most sense when referring to her crew. She doesn't know how to properly mourn them, and is instead 'offering a warm embrace' by doggedly trying to kill whoever she's (was?)* trying to kill.
The EGO costs for this one also have Wrath and Lust like the rest of her EGOs, but the one thing that throws me off is the Envy. Why would she be jealous of her own crew? I'm sure that there is another interpretation of the Envy sin that I'm missing, someone tell me please.
*I say was, because the contract might have stopped her from trying to find the 'bastard' mentioned in her trailer.
Up last is...
III. Sinclair
"So you mean to tell me that this Clair has committed sins?"
Sinclair's EGOs are probably the ones I had to stretch REALLY far for, so forgive me. Feel free to tell what you think though.
Tumblr media
The Branch of Knowledge represents his Mark of Cain, which represents his bravery to stand up to Kromer. Honestly, I think this EGO is best explained by that one tumblr post about N Corp Sinclair.
Essentially, N Corp Sinclair has one chance to defy The One Who Grips, and it's this EGO. Faust's EGO has a Fatal weakness to Gluttony, which is N Corp Sinclair's one chance at rebellion. However, he isn't entirely safe, since Branch has a Fatal weakness to Pride. If N Corp Sinclair screws it up, The One Who Grips' Execution and Representation Emitter means the end of him. So that's why I think that Branch symbolizes the Mark of Cain.
Anyway, moving on to the next EGOs. I'll keep it short since this is already way too long.
Tumblr media
Doomsday Calendar/Impending Day probably represents his final meeting with Kromer? This one I'm not entirely sure of. The only reason I'm associating this with Kromer is the fact the Sinclair had one last coin from Kromer on him, and the fact that the calendar itself is very fleshy too, which mirrors Kromer's obsession with human 'purity'.
At this point I've reached the limit for photo on tumblr it seems, but regardless.
Sinclair's last EGO, Lifetime Stew/Basilisoup, probably represents dinner with his family, and subsequently how he still loved them. Sinclair liked dinners with his family, and you can even see in the window of his jail cell in Branch that he thinks that if he had taken the prosthetic, he'd still be having dinner with his family.
I might be missing more, but its 4 am here, and I'm about to get knocked out. I might do more with the other Sinners once they get more EGO's that are unique to them cuz
Sunshower just means that they had a wife (Yi Sang, Outis, Heathcliff)
Alleyway Wolf means that they lost someone (Don Quixote - Sancho, Faust - Gretchen/a baby, thanks to the people who noticed the baby-adjacent things in Faust's EGOs, Heathcliff - Catherine) since the wolf carries a body on its back. 'Probably' in Don's case, I don't know the full details of the original Don Quixote.
yeah night

Francis Xavier Pyeon - Agent Name: N/A
Age 35 - They/Them
The first notable agent hired for the main facility of Lobotomy Corporation, Xavier was signed on before the code names were implemented. While still needing a code name of sorts, Xavier decided to go by their middle name to further remove themselves from their past.
A Grade 5 Fixer, they have plenty of field experience and have witnessed plenty of death. They transferred to District T at a young age, and found themselves orphaned as a teen.
They align themselves with themes of Christianity, though try to distance themselves from it. They wield a falchion blade.
[ WARNING: CLASSIFIED INTEL BELOW. RESTRICTED ACCESS ]
Xavier’s main abnormalities are One Sin and a Hundred Good Deeds, Sign of Roses, and Today’s Shy Look.
They’ve also found themselves acquainted with So That No One Will Cry along with Heavenly Executor’s Scribe.
While using EGO pages within the library and EGO itself while working at L Corp, Xavier too can be found under the effects of corrosion post library.
Tumblr media
While not under the duress of other EGO, Xavier’s own has been named “Witness”
A note of their distorted form has been taken into account. Extremely dangerous, the entity has been seen weeping blood endlessly and bearing a sword behind them, with floating hands nailed into it. They appear statue-esque and monochrome.
