The Rich Aroma of Greek Coffee
If you're the one like a coffee lover and have never experienced the distinct pleasure of traditionally originated "Greek Coffee," you're in for a major treat! For so many centuries, there has been a trend for drinking strong, unfiltered coffee, and for some, it has been a trend along part of daily life, ritual, and culture in Greece and in much of the Mediterranean and Middle East. Loumidis Greek Coffee is made using one of the finest roasted Greek coffee beans.
What makes Loumidis coffee unique?
Loumidis Greek Coffee have been carrying a rich heritage that spans over a century and has been Passed down through generations; the meticulous process of selecting the finest Arabica beans and roasting them to perfection has remained unchanged. This commitment to tradition is very evident in every cup, as the deep aroma of it, along with its distinct flavour, transports you to a bygone era.
How to Brew the Perfect Greek Coffee
A step-by-step guide to making Greek coffee.
Measure out a full coffee filled with a cup of water (about 2 1/2 -3 ounces or 75-90 ml) and pour it into the briki. If you are making more than one, I would prefer to make sure one's briki is big enough, as you will need space to let the coffee bubble and foam properly.
Add two teaspoons of coffee and two teaspoons of sugar to everyone's coffee cup and stir. This ratio is considered a somewhat strong coffee.
Place the briki on the gas and turn on so that it is on low heat level.
Very slowly, let the coffee heat up (keep the flame very low). Do not leave the coffee unattended.
You will slowly see the surface start trembling, which I describe as a volcano waiting to explode. Once it starts foaming, lift it slightly above the heat until and unless the foam/bubbles settle. Then, after that, put it on the fire again. The next step is to let it start foaming and puffing up. Then remove. This step is very important to get a good Greek coffee.
Serve it in a coffee cup. If you are making more than one, separate the foam proportionally in each coffee cup.
Serve the cup on a small saucer along with a glass of cold water.
Conclusion In conclusion, we have learned about the history and production of Milka chocolate, where to find authentic Serbian ingredients, and how to brew the perfect Greek coffee. Milka chocolates originated in Switzerland in 1901 and are currently owned by Mondelez International. The top five online stores in the Serbian Grocery market are maxi.rs, idea.rs, elakolije.rs, ediskont.rs, and biomarket.rs. And, to make the perfect Greek coffee, you need a small narrow-necked coffee pot called a "Briki," and the finely ground coffee is heated over a low flame slowly, allowing the flavours to infuse slowly and create a unique foam known as "kaimaki".

Hello! I hope the holidays treated you well! I haven’t dropped anything in your inbox in a while. I appreciate how lovely your responses are to them. If you have time, I have another one for you. You know how sometimes you meet people who just unsettle you? Like there is something off about them? How would the guys react in this situation if you come home scared or upset? I watched a little too much true crime docs this weekend and had a hard time sleeping. Thank you!
Hello dear! They did, I had a very good time! And I hope the same to you! I’m so glad you enjoy the responses, and I hope I can continue that trend!
Head Canon Masterlist
When You Come Home Shaken from and Encounter with Someone:
Whiskey: He’s immediately on high alert. “Darlin’? What happened? Are you hurt?” When you convince him that you’re not hurt, just shaken up, the questioning still continues. “Who was it? Did you know them? What did they look like? Did they follow you home?” When you’ve answered all your questions, and he’s certain you’re not hurt, that’s when he finally relaxes, pulling you against him and he doesn’t let go for a long, long time. It’s a tighter hug than you’re normally use to, and is that a little bit of trembling you feel? He hates the idea of anyone potentially hurting you, he can’t live that nightmare again, so for the next...long time, whenever you go out, he’s right there with you. If he can’t be, he makes sure one of the other agents can accompany you as well.
Javi: He’s used to creeps following him around in Colombia. When you’re in the DEA and end up in bed with Los Pepes, it’s bound to happen that you end up with a tail from time to time. When it’s you that they end up following...well...that ain’t gonna fly. Immediately when you come home shaken up, he’s got you wrapped in his arms as he murmurs sweet nothings to you, telling you how he’s going to keep you safe no matter what. He’s already devising a game plan in his head, parsing out what he can do to improve your safety as much as he can, knowing that he won’t always be around to protect you due to the nature of his work. Once you’ve calmed down and relaxed, he starts gently asking questions, trying to get an idea of who it is that followed you and startled you. After that night, he’s going to insist you come with him to work more often when you can. At least there he can keep an eye on you more, putting you both at ease.
Frankie: Frankie’s training kicks in here, and he stays super calm as he tries to calm you down. He double checks the front yard, making sure no one followed you all the way home before coming back inside and making a show of locking the front door. After that, he’s grabbing blankets to wrap around you, pulling you against him to soothe and comfort you. He’s not letting you go until he’s certain you’re alright. Once you convince him you’re ok, he’s going to be waiting on you hand and foot. A nice shower or bath to help wash everything away? He’ll add the bubbles you like too. Want something comforting to eat? He’s in the kitchen in a heart beat making whatever you’d like. Shoulders hurt from the tension? You bet your sweet behind he’s got you in front of him as he massages out the knots. Anything you need, just ask for and he’ll give it to you. Later that night, when he thinks you’re asleep, he pulls his hand gun out of the night stand, checking it over before he sets it within reach. Just as a precaution.
Ezra: Oh he’s heated, but he doesn’t let you see it. His little gemstone needs comfort so that is what they shall get. His reaction would be different depending on where you are. If y’all are out prospecting where the danger is very, very real, he won’t be sleeping for a few days, on high alert to make sure no individuals of ill repute have followed you back to your pod. He’ll also be making regular treks out to check the immediate area for any dangers. In between, he’s got you cradled to him as best he can with his one arm, telling you sweet stories in the lovely drawl to take your attention off your fear. If you’re home, his immediate reaction is to double check all the locks before taking your hand to lead you back to the bedroom where his thrower is before cuddling up with you in the bed where he can comfort you. There, he’ll tell you stories until you finally doze off to sleep against him. He doesn’t get much sleep that night, worrying about you, and for the next few days he’s hesitant to have you going out on your own anywhere.
Oberyn: Another who is absolutely furious. His is far more visible that Ezra, however. You know he’s fueled by a deep seated rage, and is known for outbursts at the drop of a hat, especially when someone he cares for his harmed or threatened. He’s going to check you over to make sure that physically you’re okay, then shower you with kisses and words of affection as he leads you to bed where he’s going to leave you with Ellaria to comfort you and ensure you’re safe before he heads out to find the one who unsettled you so. When he finally returns, it’s with the promise that you’ll never need to worry about him again, the problem has been settled. He doesn’t explain further, and you don’t ask, rather content to just sit in the comfort the prince provides you, knowing you’re safe in his arms.
Din: He’s quiet, more so than normal when you show up trembling and afraid. The Galaxy is not a nice place. It’s not safe, and he knows this, but he figured this planet would be safe enough to let you wander through the market on your own. He’s going to take you up to the cockpit and sit you in his chair before going and grabbing a blanket to wrap around you, asking what happened. Did anyone hurt you? Steal from you? Threaten you? He’s methodical in his questions, asking just enough to be able to recognize who his new, impromptu target is. When he feels like he’s calmed you down enough for the moment, he’ll rest the forehead of his helmet against your own forehead before leaving you with Grogu to go and “take care of something.” He comes back not too much later. He doesn’t say where he went or what he did as he hangs up the pulse rifle before coming back to you in the cockpit, handing you some sweet treat from the market before heading to the next destination.
Pero: How dare anyone scare you to the point where you come home so shaken. Someone will need to be taught a lesson. But he tends to you first, making sure you’re fed and comforted. Pero is a man of few words, but the things he says to comfort you, while succinct, are very sweet. Some are in English, while other are in Spanish. He knows you like the way his Spanish sounds, so he hopes that it helps to soothe you while he holds you in front of the fire. When you’re finally calmed and fed, he presses a kiss to the top of your head before standing and walking to where he keeps his swords. “Just to prove a point, preciosa,” he says when he sees the concern in your eyes. “I won’t hurt anyone. Much.” And then he’s gone, returning not long after with a satisfied look on his face. “It’s taken care of,” is all he says, before joining you by the fire again. it’s a few weeks before he lets you go off on your own again.
Max: He can smell that asshole on you, and it makes him so angry. The way you’re heart is racing, the way he can smell the adrenaline coursing through your veins. This will not do. He’s going to check you over for physical injuries before taking you to the bathroom and running you a bath with your favorite bath bomb or bubbles. He’ll leave a glass of your favorite wine and a parting kiss to your head before offering a quick “I’ll be right back.” In a blink, he’s gone. When he comes back just as the water is getting cold, he’s got a pizza in his hands and a very chipper smile on his face. He makes a cozy little blanket nest in front of the TV, insisting on a movie night with you to help you relax. Of course, he’s going to be all over you, and it borders on possessive. You notice he’s warmer than usual, indicative of a recent feeding, and you don’t need to be a top tier detective to realize that he went out for more than just the pizza after he ran your bath for you. Oh well, best not to think about it.
Maxwell: To be honest, out of all of the guys, Maxwell shows the most outright fear when you tell him what happened while you tremble in his arms. Especially if this happens after the events of the stone and he has very few resources to help protect you. Guilt is gonna eat at him for that, but he doesn’t let you know that. When you get home at first, he’s going to fret over you, much like a mother hen. “Are you hurt? Where? Did they touch you? Did they follow you? What do you need?” He’s going to spend the night pampering you and taking care of you, trying to keep you calm and reassuring himself along that way that you’re alright. The next day, he’s going to hand you a canister of pepper spray to keep with you. it’s not much, but it’ll help provide you both with a little peace of mind. He also considers making you his secretary for while he’s going around to meetings in an attempt to fix his reputation. At least that way he always knows where you are.
Marcus: FBI boyfriend is going to be the sweetest, most tender of people after this happens. You come home and he methodically checks you over for any injuries before spending the night doting on you, holding you, feeding you, comforting you in any way you could possibly want. He doesn’t bring up the events the whole night, focusing on keeping you calm and comfortable in an attempt to keep off any bad dreams this may cause. The next day, he insist you come with him to the office to get a report started, just as a precaution, even if you think it might be overkill. He really just wants you safe is all, and it’s honestly really sweet. After the event, he’s texting and calling you all the time to check on you and make sure you’re ok. it’s as much a comfort for you as it is for him.

Something’s Gotta Give
Chapter Three: Tea for Two
AN: Honestly, I should be asleep as I post this chapter, but if I delay this any longer I think I might rip my hair out (not really). If there are any mistakes, I’m sorry, it’s 3am and I’m bleary eyed. Anyways, thank you to everyone who has supported this story! I really didn’t think anyone would enjoy it but myself.
Chapter Four: A Frightful Dinner
Summary: What should’ve been a fun and simple dinner between Livia and Booker takes a dark turn when she discovers a startling secret about him.
Having a cup of tea with each other became a weekly ritual for Booker and I.
And from tea, sometimes we swap over to coffee, where I discovered that Booker makes the best coffee known to man. He always made my cup of coffee sweet, rich, creamy, and added a dash of cinnamon to top it off. It's so perfect, I'll never look at coffee served in cafes the same anymore. Regardless of the beverage we were drinking, Booker and I always made sure to bring food for our little get-togethers. When its my turn to bring the food, I usually buy pastries like eclairs, macrons, pain au chocolat, etc. I couldn't help myself, I've got quite the sweet tooth which Booker commented on clearly amused once he noticed the trend. While Booker opted to bring sandwiches and quiches, which were a lot healthier than my choices.
At first, our little “tea parties”, as I liked to call them always took place in my apartment, but as the weeks passed and Booker grew more and more comfortable with me, he invited me to his apartment for the first time for a cup of coffee. To my surprise, when I entered Booker's apartment, it was not shrouded in darkness like I previously believed, the space was actually well lit.
Unless, he had the lights on and blinds opened for my benefit.
But you know what, I wasn't going to complain about it. The mere fact that Booker felt he could trust me by letting me into his personal space brought me indescribable joy. Each week over tea or coffee, a new subject was discussed. One week it's about books, the next about traveling, the following about daily life, and so on. Truly, it was a very gratifying experience to see how our relationship had blossomed. Not too long ago it felt like I had to pull teeth to get Booker to speak to me or I had to decipher his body language to determine if he was even comfortable speaking to me.
But now, conversations between us flowed naturally.
However, I have noticed that other things have changed between Booker and I. Well, at least for me it has. As of late, I would feel my heart start racing and beat like thunder whenever I would spend time with him. I would find myself studying Booker's features instead of listening to what was coming out his mouth. My eyes would move from down his nose, across his cheeks, around his jaw line, and at his lips. Heat would always flush my face and down to my neck when Booker called my name to snap me out of my daydream.
I couldn't help it, from the jump I said the man was handsome, but I didn't think I would catch feelings for him.
It certainly didn't help that our hands would innocently brush against each other when doing simple tasks, for example, doing the dishes together. Or the way he would lightly place his hand on my mid-back to usher me into his apartment after we've came back from the market. I always felt like I was set aflame every time Booker and I made contact with each other. I began to wonder if Booker had caught onto my growing feelings for him, he hadn't said anything or treated me differently. But, at times I would feel Booker's gaze linger on me when he was supposed to be reading, like the time when I was detangling my hair or when I was drawing in my sketchpad.
There's also the fact that Booker brought me flowers one day when we were having tea. They were roses, yellow roses to be specific. He told me the roses reminded him of me because of their warmth. And don't get me wrong, I damn near gushed over the beautiful, sun-colored bouquet of roses because I hadn't received such a gift in god knows when, but I also had mixed feelings about the flowers. Yellow roses symbolize friendship and I was left wondering one single question.
Did Booker just politely friend zone me?
~~~x~~~
"When I invited you over for dinner I was hoping you would actually help me make it," Booker quipped, looking over his shoulder.
I chuckled a little, "Hmm," I hummed, as popped the last bit of cracker that had fromage fort spread across it. "It seemed like you had everything under control," I replied, a smile on my face.
If someone had told me that by the end of this day I would be having dinner with Booker, I would tell them they were crazy, hell I might even laughed at them. Having a cup of tea with Booker is one thing, but to eat dinner together, it's different, more intimate. When Booker invited me over, I had just finished putting away groceries and was about to make dinner myself, but in stepped Booker. It was quite adorable when he asked to have dinner with him, in my opinion. He was clearly nervous, he stumbled over his words a few times. Whether it was because Booker is still a slightly reserved man, which meant doing this was uncharted territory for him or it was the possibility that he also had feelings for me was unclear.
I hoped for the latter.
"Do I now?" Booker asked, turning around and folding his arms across his chest.
My grin widened, "Undoubtedly," I said, with a laugh.
Feeling a bit of cheese on the corner of my mouth, I took my thumb and wiped it off before placing the speck of cheese onto my lips. Booker's eyes darted down to my lips and I had to force myself to keep a straight face as I felt a slight increase in my heart beat from Booker’s lingering gaze.
"Maybe it was just involuntary," I thought.
I picked up my wine glass, "But since you're begging me so much, I guess I have no choice but to help," I joked, standing up from the kitchen chair and taking a sip of the dry wine.
Booker faced the counter again, "Your kindness knows no bounds Livia," he deadpanned, resuming his work on slicing the mushrooms up.
I walked up to him and placed my hand on the back of shoulder, at first his body tensed before his muscles relaxed.
"What would you like me to do Chef Booker?" I questioned, my lips curving into a smile.
He rolled his eyes at the title, but still a smirk made its way onto his face, "Can you chop the broccoli please?" he asked, motioning to the vegetable to the side of him.
"Gladly," I replied, removing my hand from him and placing my glass down.
I moved over to the sink and turned the faucet on, pumping soap into my hands I placed them underneath the warm water, giving them a good scrub. Drying my hands on a towel placed on the sink, I took my place next to Booker and began chopping the stalk of broccoli.
"In the month and a half that I've known you, I've noticed a difference in you,” I stated, still cutting the broccoli up.
Booker glanced over at me, "Like what?" he asked curiously, dumping the mushrooms into a pan on the stove.
"Well for one, you don't look so haggard," I commented, placing my knife down and picking up the cutting board.
"Haggard?" Booker repeated, breathing out a laugh. "Wow, Livia," he chuckled, taking the board from my hands and tipping the broccoli into in the pan as well.
"Wait, let me finish!" I said, laughing myself now. "There's a glow to your skin. I can sense a newfound joy in you, an emotion that you believed would never return," I continued, and from the corner of my eyes I saw Booker still. "And your eyes," I breathed, shaking my head. "Your eyes always conveyed to me of a man who lives in silent misery. Your eyes would say what your mouth would not," I explained, my voice taking on a softer tone. "But now, I can see a small shine, a little glimmer twinkling in your eyes," I finished, turning my head slightly to look at Booker, who seemed to be stock still.
Silence swept over the small room, apart from the sounds of the vegetables in the pan sizzling and the wind outside softly rustling the colorful leaves on the trees. My heart began hammering in my chest, the elongated silence from Booker made me nervous. God, I hope I didn't say anything that offended him.
I cleared my throat and brushed the bangs of my hair away from eyes, "I don't know, maybe I've been reading too many of those poems you suggested," I guessed, chuckling while shaking my head.
A warm, rough hand covered the top of mine and my head snapped up to look at Booker.
"I guess, it's kind of hard to remain gloomy when you have a neighbor that is the personification of a ray of sunshine, annoyingly persistent as she may be," Booker teased, looking down at me with sincereness in his eyes and a small smile gracing his lips.
I playful bumped his arm with my own, "You love it though," I teased back, sticking my chin out.
"I do," he agreed softly, stroking his thumb back and forth across my hand.
The gesture sent shivers down my spine and goosebumps raised on my arms. Booker's exquisite blue eyes were locked with my rich brown orbs. The proximity between us was making it hard to breathe, all Booker had to do was lean his head down a little further and—let me not get ahead of myself.
"More wine?" I squeaked out, trying to regain my breath subtlety.
Booker smirked, almost as if he knew the effect he had on me, "I would love some," he answered, giving my hand a squeeze before removing it to work on the garlic bulbs.
I turned around, a grin on my face as I held my hand against my chest. I made my way back over to kitchen table, a slight spring in my step, to where a bottle of unopened wine was located. Grabbing the corkscrew, I jammed it into the top of the bottle and began twisting the knob a few times until the familiar and gratifying loud pop of a wine bottle being uncorked echoed throughout the room. It startled me, but at the same time a satisfied smile grew on my face until I heard Booker swear loudly behind me. Immediately, I placed the bottle down and turned around to see little red droplets dripping from Booker's fingers and onto the floor.
"Oh my god Booker!" I exclaimed, rushing to his side.
"It's nothing Livia!" he insisted, cradling his bloody hand as he moved towards the sink.
"Nothing?" I repeated, disbelief clear in my face. I moved in front of him and grabbed his wrist to show him the severity of his wound. "Booker, your palm is split wide open!" I pointed out, my tone turning frantic "We need to go to the hospital!" I stated, releasing his wrist and turning around to grab the towel from the sink.
"Livia-"
"Here!" I began, spinning back around to face Booker. "Use the towel to...." I instructed, but slowly trailed off as my eyes widened at what I was witnessing.
My breath began to quicken, becoming shallow as I watched the skin on Booker's palm draw itself back together. The towel fell limply from my hand and onto the floor with a soft thud. Slowly, I raised my hand and covered my mouth in horror as I watched tendon by tendon mend itself, and at that moment I felt my stomach lurch and a strong wave of nausea hit, forcing me to place a hand on my stomach in order to calm it down. The deep laceration on Booker's palm inexplicably became a mere scratch before the scratch itself simply disappeared.
As if Booker never injured himself in the first place.
"What the hell!" I whispered, my eyes still glued to Booker's his hand. The image of his palm knitting itself back together flashed in my mind, making me slightly gag. I lifted my eyes to Booker's who's face had gone ashen and was contorted with unease. "What the hell was that?" I asked, my voice once again not above a whisper, but the panic laced through the question couldn't be clearer.
"Livia, I can explain," Booker stated slowly, reaching his bloody hand out to me and taking a small step in my direction.
My eyes slightly widened again and I recoiled backwards, my back running into the cupboard. I tightly gripped the counter as I watched Booker's shoulders deflate like a balloon losing air, hurt was evident in his eyes at my reaction to him and a sad frown formed on his face. The silence was deafening in Booker's apartment, the only thing I could hear was the blood pounding in my ears. I slid my body along the cupboard, reaching down to snatch my coat from the chair that was next to it.
"I-I need t-to go," I announced shakily, avoiding Booker's stare.
Hurriedly, I moved to the door and made haste of the lock on the door, nearly yanking the door of its hinges as I left.
"Livia, wait!" Booker called, and I thought I heard movement behind me. "Please!" He pleaded.
My hands fumbled around in my coat pocket for my keys, but finally managing to grab them. I nearly sprinted towards my door even though it was only a short distance away. My hands trembled as I inserted the key into my door and jerked the key hard, twisting the doorknob and pushing my door open. I entered my apartment straight away and as I went to shut the door I paused, glancing at the apartment door across from me. Out of nowhere, the sound of glass shattering across the hall made me jump back, causing the door to slam shut louder than I intended it to. I slid the deadbolt lock into place and did the same with the bottom lock, leaning my forehead against the door, closing my eyes.
I flipped around with my back against the door, slowly I slid down the door and covered my face with my hands.
"What the fuck did I just see unfold in Booker's apartment?"
Invite People with Acrylic Style Cards
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/705fc0a7cc10793ded381481c5723183/9b6334f6999c9ce3-b8/s540x810/a8d1d1febd4a8306132f6be1f52f9f3304865ffd.jpg)
Inviting people is a significant thing in every function. It is also used responsibility as one must remember to treat everybody equally. Sending invitations through cards is in trend for ages. However, with time, the trends keep changing. The acrylic invitation is one of the most trending styles of cards in the market—this helps to impress the guests from the very beginning.
Acrylic cards
These cards are colorless and very much transparent. The transparency remains even after these get old as they do not adopt the yellow tints. The light transmission rate of these cards is more than 92%. Acrylic cards are famous for their wide range of colors and designs, which are customizable as per the customers' requirements. These cards are even suitable to use outside, and they are rigid and do not easily give up on the changes in the environment. Therefore, all these make it an excellent choice for applying pixel glass, tanks, screens, etc.
What are these suitable for?
The acrylic invitation is suitable for both mechanical processing and thermoforming. The reason behind this is that these cards are open for almost everything, such as dying, surface painting, silk screening, and vacuum coating.
How to send acrylic cards?
Acrylic cards are almost three millimeters thick. One can send the cards in either of the two ways- in an envelope or a box.
While sending in an envelope, one must keep in mind to look for the right quality envelope that takes up the card's weight and does not tear. On the other hand, if you want to send the invitation in the box, you must be ready to spend more, because sending a box is expensive. It is also essential to remember that the package will be heavy to carry and might turn into a hassle.
What else can you send?
One can send many gift items along with their invitations to surprise the guests. Some of the gifts items include- acrylic tabletop identifiers, wish box, welcome sign, etc. This is like adding glitters to gold.
How to maintain acrylic cards?
It is very easy to maintain acrylic invitations. If the card has become dirty or has some blemishes, you can use a slightly wet microfiber cloth and carefully clean it up. However, it is essential to keep in mind to check the fabric before cleaning. The material must be very clean because cleaning and rubbing the card with rough dirt particles may lead to scratches on the acrylic surface. You must also avoid using local home cleaners or glass cleaners as they contain harmful chemicals, which make it look cloudy when used on the acrylic surface. The easiest way to clean them up and give it a long-lasting new look is to use soap water for cleaning.
Pros and Cons of Acrylic Invitation
Pros:
- Acrylic cards are damage proof as to resist heat, water, and humidity.
- These cards do not break easily and can survive some falls.
- Acrylic invitations for a perfect base for printing. One can add designs and pictures to make them more attractive.
- These cards are open to creativity, and any theme- vintage, classic or traditional suits them perfectly.
Cons:
- Like other cards, the acrylic cards are not staining proof, and once there is a stain on it, it becomes tough to remove them.
- These cards are quite expensive than other cards.
To sum up
Although acrylic invitations are a bit expensive, yet these have great longevity than the other paper cards. Therefore, investing in acrylic cards for invitations is a good idea as the quality is excellent and does not degrade quickly.
Against Woodstock
“Rock Imperialists” by Mark Kramer, Liberation News Service, 1969 NEW YORK (LNS) The list of stars who will show up at the Woodstock Rock Festival this August is mighty impressive—as fine as any ever. There's everyone: Joan Baez, the Who, Joe Cocker, Janis Joplin, the Jefferson Airplane, Ravi Shankar, Blood Sweat and Tears, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Richie Havens, Canned Heat, Arlo Guthrie,, Tim Hardin, Johnny Winter, the Band, Iron Butterfly, The Grateful Dead and the Incredible String Band, for example. The arrangements to help you spend three days in the wilds sound as impressive as the list of stars—free campgrounds, ample water and outhouses; free rice kitchen for the poor and hungry; catering by Nathan's of Coney Island craft booths which might just be bivouac head shoppes, and which might be craft booths. So the rock imperialists deliver the goods. When you want a banana, United Fruit sells a good banana. And when you want a rock festival, Woodstock Music and Art Fair, Inc., sells a good rock festival—at $7 a day. The Guatemalans who grew the bananas get to eat an occasional bruised model. And the street people, the denizens of the lower east side, of the Haight, let them eat free rice and maybe they'll hear the sounds wafting out past the gates. But they made the culture which the rich fops imitate. Walk down St. Marks Place in the East Village and dig the crowd on either side of the velvet rope which separates those with the bread ($10 a couple) to get into the Electric Circus from those who beg spare change to buy a knish. On the rich side, the same outfits as on the poor side, except ironed and cut from finer cloth—bell bottoms, groovy vests, mucho hair, svelte girls in granny glasses. On the poor side, it's hip...on the rich side, it's a shuck, it's an imitation of Hip. It's fancy boutique clothes cut to look like the old surplus clothes which the street people once wore out of poverty, thereby creating a style. For some, the dress constitutes a case of 'going native' for a night on the Bowery. For others it's simply high fashion. The impulse for kids to dress 'well' is plugged in nasty trend-setting magazines like "Seventeen" and supported by the huge cloth and garment companies, the cosmetics companies and the hygiene-freak companies. The sales job for fashion is easier than others—for the styles come complete with a built-in image. Marlboro has to spend millions to rope together its cancer-sticks and he-manhood. But the Fashion-Makers have it easy this year, because the clothes styles which they plug were once part of a genuine revolutionary and romantic lifestyle. So America's teenagers are exploited by big companies that hold 'lifestyle' out as bait. "BUY THIS AND YOU WILL BE..." You will be what? Hip? You'll own another piece of snappy clothing, you'll be able to crowd the poor girl down the block still further, you'll earn your ticket to daydream about running toward him through tall fields of hay, arms stretched toward the sun—the kind of daydream they push in ads for cunt deodorant. And the kind of daydream they push on album covers. “But (you say) album covers are great. I trip, and look at album covers, and…etc." But it ain't that way. Rock may have come from the Street people, along with styles that grew out of buying surplus clothing, and daydreams that grew out of mystic studies and sunshine state habits. And the communication between the performing artists and you may still bear the same free-you-up message. But in between you and the performer, there's billions of dollars that you're paying and (for the most part) he's not getting. Who is getting it? The huge companies that own the record empires. Here's the puzzle: the same companies that own the recording contracts and record studies which make 'liberated' music, also own government contracts and subsidiary companies which make electronic bombing equipment, spying equipment, death equipment which is used in Vietnam and in our other colonies. The companies don't care how they make money, as long as they make the money. If they can make it from anti-war youth culture by coming on hip, they'll do it. And if they can make it from killing Vietnamese and killing off thousands of years of Vietnamese culture with expensive weapons systems for the government, they'll do that too. For example, CBS owns Columbia records, Masterworks, Blue Horizon, Odyssey, Harmony, Date, Okeh and several other record companies. They have invested heavily in defense contracts as well, working especially in the areas of laser beams, radar, spy photography, underwater detection—the sorts of technological work which keeps up the arms race and makes fat profits. It's the same story with most of the other major record companies. Like true imperialists, they'll go wherever the market is, talk whatever language (be it Vietnamese or hip-ese) needs talking, sell whatever people will pay for, as long as they make a profit. Does this mean you shouldn't buy records? No, of course not. If you wanted to live in this country without supporting the death machine, you couldn't eat or turn on an electric light. What it means is that you should understand a few facts of life. When you sit down with a sandwich (made of food processed by big business) and when you take a bite of the sandwich and start listening to music of YOUR culture, peddled for the profit of THEIR culture, then dig it! That's the corner they've got you backed into. Supporting the very things you hate the most in order to get the few things you want. There's a revolutionary movement growing in this country to fight just that form of oppression. What has this got to do with Woodstock? You might go there and have a fine time, but just remember that someone is making a million on your fun, and it isn't the performers, many of whom come for little or nothing. We interviewed the promoters setting up the Woodstock Festival, at a press conference arranged by the mid-town publicity company they hired. The conference itself was a slick operation. It passed itself off as a consultation between "leaders of the rock community" and the underground press on how to have peaceful good times for everyone. They didn't need to consult with anyone. Way back in April they had hired a federal law enforcement official, Wes Pomeroy, whom they described to me as "a very progressive kind of cat." A very progressive kind of cat who had worked with Johnson on the Safe Streets' Act, and with Republican bigwigs in planning security for their '64 convention at the Cow Palace. That's who the investors ("leaders of the rock community”) consulted with when they wanted security for their investment, not the underground press people. Even though the press conference handout reads, "We have called a special meeting of the underground press and rock community leaders to discuss ways of developing safe and harmonious pop music festivals.” Mike Lang and Artie Kornfield and two other partners put up half-a-million bucks. They're expecting big returns from ticket sales, a cut of concession sales, and also from selling TV and movie rights. Artie used to head Columbia Records. He told me, “I’d dig my daughter to be able to eat too." What about the street people? Mike says "We're not turning our backs on these people—we've got to feed them.” And let them in? “Don't you feel you're exploiting hip culture for your own gain?” Artie said, "Much of us have the same goal, We want to be able to cut out—not take shit—and go live in the country," Except that for most, it is a dream, not a goal, as long as Artie collects from every freak who wants to hear his music. And except that now that so many people want to cut out, they might find it easier to get together and put a stop to the conditions they want to escape. What about the riot that happened at the LA rock festival, Artie? "We are them—when they attack us, they are attacking themselves. If you talk about an army, it's got a lot of different wings. We're just another wing.” Maybe Artie and Mike are fooling themselves and maybe not. But they have extracted from the movement those things which can make them some money—talent, excitement, revolutionary energy, identity with hip looks and talk. But they have missed the heart of the movement. The revolutionary energy of rock and of the movement is a response to oppression—it grew out of the blues, out of the poor white country music, out of the emancipated poverty of the street people and their drug scene, out of the anger about national leaders representing corporate interests, while killing people, anger about how students get lied to and treated in public schools. The movement is made by and sung by people who oppose exploitation, whether by war elsewhere, or by high prices, racism and low wages at home. The movement is not represented in any way by rich investors getting richer by the profits of rock festivals—even if the investors do look hip and talk hip and know hip people. By the way, if you do go to the. Woodstock festival (actually, the grounds are located in Wallkill, N.Y.), Wes Pomeroy has a staff of 400 security people working for him, in and out of costume. When he was asked about kids smoking dope there, he said, "We'll do nothing to protect them. There will be narcs there, same as everywhere—they're going to have to pay $7, too." photograph by Henry Diltz
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/95ecbb168711fedf65146c2fd8b9cc57/fb7995d251a06ca4-7e/s540x810/1cdbce18c4e70c4b6c995d315c1f647aa046840e.jpg)
Market Overview:
Heat treated glass undergoes thermal or chemical treatments to introduce controlled and permanent changes in its mechanical and optical properties. It is used in various commercial glazing, facade applications, and for automotive and transport industry where strength and safety properties are important.
Market Dynamics:
The heat treated glass market is expected to grow at a significant rate owing to increasing demand from the construction industry, mainly for facade applications where aesthetics and safety from breakage is essential. The growth of the construction industry, especially in developing regions of Asia Pacific and Latin America is driving the facade segment. Additionally, growing automotive industry globally is also contributing to the growth of heat treated glass market as automotive manufacturers use heat strengthened and tempered glass for window, sunroof, and backlights applications where resistance to breakage is required to ensure safety. The end-use segments are expected to propel the heat treated glass market growth over the forecast period.
Major Driver 1: Increasing Demand from the Construction Industry
The construction industry is one of the major end-users of heat treated glass. Heat treated glass such as tempered glass and heat strengthened glass are widely used in construction of buildings for windows, curtain walls, doors, skylights, pedestrian barriers etc. due to their high strength and safety properties. The global construction industry has been growing steadily over the past few years and this growth is expected to continue in the coming years as well driven by increasing investments in infrastructure development, residential & commercial construction projects in developing countries. The rising construction activities will directly boost the demand for heat treated glass from this industry.
As the automotive sector expands, the need for heat treated glass from this industry will also rise proportionately. The trend towards larger window panels and advanced features like panoramic sunroofs in vehicles will further augment the market for heat treated glass in the foreseeable future.
Major Restrain: Volatility in Raw Material Prices
Glass production requires various raw materials like sand, soda ash, limestone, dolomite etc. The prices of these raw materials fluctuate frequently due to factors like shortage in supply, higher demand, geopolitical issues etc. Since glass manufacturing is a raw material intensive industry, volatility in raw material costs directly impacts the production cost and profit margins of glass producers. Unexpected price fluctuations force companies to increase the price of finished glass products as well. This volatility in raw material prices can negatively impact the overall demand and growth of the heat treated glass market.
Major Opportunity: Growing Solar Energy Sector
The increasing focus on renewable energy sources across the world presents promising prospects for the heat treated glass market. Heat treated glass finds extensive usage in the production of photovoltaic solar panels. Solar glass or photovoltaic glass used in solar panels needs to withstand high temperatures and other installation stresses. Here heat strengthened glass or tempered glass provides the ideal solution. With solar power expected to account for a significant share of global power generation in the coming decades, tremendous opportunities will arise for heat treated glass manufacturers in the solar photovoltaics value chain. The rapid expansion of the solar energy industry can drive new revenue streams for heat treated glass producers.
Major Trend: Rising demand for Specialty Glasses
Earlier heat treated glass was mainly used for standard automotive and construction applications. However, over the past few years specialty glasses customized for niche industrial sectors have gained momentum. Some examples include low-emissivity (Low-E) coated glass for energy efficient buildings, anti-reflective coated glass for electronics, reinforced and toughened glass for infrastructure projects, bulletproof and security glass etc. The unique performance characteristics of these specialty glasses have found widespread acceptance. Additionally, demand for advanced optics and specialtycover glasses from sectors like aviation & defense is surging. Going forward specialty and customized heat treated glasses are expected to open up new growth verticals in the overall market.
How to Make Water Safe for Drinking at Home
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/b1b378d6d151f317bdd636c4429757da/f8da045a60b5c730-f1/s500x750/cc52eda353637bac252863fcb167ef99ea093da0.jpg)
How To Make Water Safe For Drinking At Home
In the past, water sources were actually clean and people could easily get potable water (safe drinking water) without stress. However, things have changed and a lot of water bodies are facing very extreme pollution. Many of us now have the same question “How to make water safe for drinking at home”.
Thanks to scientific research, the quest for clean drinkable water has paid off as there are now devices and methods via which water can be purified. Using these ideas, the local authorities and industries can make healthy water available for public and private use. The government is not left out as they have enacted regulations guiding the supply of hygienically clean water.
But how about the home front? Getting your water decontaminated right in your house is possible. Sure it is! We have put together some tips that can help you make water safe for drinking at home.
Engage a Water Filter System
One of the methods of getting clean water is via filtration. No special instructions are required for this technique. The beauty of filtration is that it is trending and there are several types and brands of water filters on the market. That water comes from a tap doesn’t mean that it is clear and clean. It could be housing dirt, bacteria, and viruses. A proper filter is designed to carry a regular, activated charcoal in a circular frame. It is this carbon material that attracts the pollutants as the water moves and takes them off, producing only pollutant-free water. About 81 compounds can be extracted from water using filters. Again, it can remove 12 types of herbicides and at least 14 herbicides. How about unpleasant smell? These filters can extract bad smell from tap water. If you want the water filtration system to last a long time, replacement of the inner filter is advised. Should you be using a large model filter, the inner filter should be changed every 6 months - don’t forget that. Should it be a small water filter that you’re using, replace them more often. Just like we said earlier, there is a range of water filter from small, medium to large. For travelers and campers, the small water filter can be fitted to your backpack when on the go. You can use this to treat any water you get from surface waters like stream, river or lake.
Whole House Water Filter
A lot of homes consider filters as the optimum water decontamination method. For instance, the whole house water filter can protect the entire building water supply, making sure that at the sink, shower, taps, and every other water outlet, very clean water is supplied. With a water filter, you may not spend so much money, although it depends on the type you choose. However, the device is flexible, easy to use, and can last for years if proper maintenance is given to it.
Under Sink Water Filter
In some homes, instead of using a filter for the entire water supply, the under sink water filter may come in handy. This one works by treating the water as it flows through the sink tap. It is usually attached to the water pipe under the sink, so as you open the tap, clean and fresh water flows out.
Refrigerator water filters
As the name implies, refrigerator water filter is carbon activated filter and takes out impurities in water gotten from the fridge. There are different sizes and brands of this filter. You can be sure of cold, toxic-free water from the refrigerator when you use this filter type. It has to be replaced regularly as contaminants may flow back into your water if the filter is packed full with dirt.
Pitcher Water Filter
Another splendid remedy for contaminated water which can be used at home is the filter pitcher. These well-designed water pitchers come with filters that purify water as you pour it out in a glass or cup. Using this method, you don’t need to bother yourself with heating up the water or running a penlight around it. Just get the drinking water into the pitcher and serve - of course very clean water is what you’ll get. There are some of the best water filter pitchers on the market. It all depends on how much you plan to spend, and what you need.
Use Household Chlorine or Bleach
A lot of the time, chlorine is used to clean swimming pools, but water treatment plants also purify water with this substance though in little quantity. To make pure your drinking water, you can use bleach (household grade chlorine) as it contains 4 to 6 percent of chlorine. You need to know how much active ingredient a cleaner contains to determine what quantity should be added to water. In application, for every liter of water, add 2 drops of scented bleach. 8 drops will be suitable for a gallon of water. After adding, let the mixture stand for 30 minutes. Your drinking water is clean! Toxic substances in water sources like groundwater and surface water can be ideally treated with this method. Bear in mind that for other impurities apart from bacteria and most viruses, more time will be needed for a proper decontamination. For instance, a microbe like Norovirus requires a waiting time of 1 hour before using the water. A minimum of 45 minutes is needed to cleanse water of giardia. In addition, consider using a chlorine tablet to detoxify water. It takes 30 to 45 minutes for this substance to get rid of viruses and bacteria. Should you be planning a trip especially to places without safe drinking water, it is ideal to use these pills as they require no measurement. You can put some in your backpack while on the go.
Apply the Reverse Osmosis System
Here, water is made clean by passing it through a semi-permeable system with so much pressure. During the movement, pollutants in water are removed. This method is called reverse osmosis because of the presence of external pressure. A typical osmosis system involves the movement of lower concentration solution to a higher concentration solution. However, when pressure comes into the picture, the process is changed - higher concentration solution moves to lower concentration solution. Should you use a semi-permeable membrane for this; the filter will produce only clean water while holding back impurities. Molecules of contaminants are screened out during RO and as such it’s effective for removal of bacteria, sediments, minerals, and viruses. Several establishments including military units and treatment plants use this water filtration system. Even you can have a smaller RO setup in your home for water purification. However, it is a little bit pricey and demands routine maintenance. In all, it’s an effective system.
Purify Water by Boiling
This is one natural water purification method. The process is simple. Just put a container of water over a source of heat. Both those in remote places and big cities utilize this technique to remove impurities from water. At a temperature above 70°c, boiling water can kill any kind of microbes. To effectively perform this method, pour the water onto a clean cloth or coffee filter with a bowl underneath. This will remove large particles from the water. Proceed to heat the filtered water until it boils - at least 60 seconds. But you may have to boil your water for 3 minutes if you live in an area above 5,000ft. Get a clean container, pour the heated water into it, and cover with a lid to prevent dirt, dust, and germs from entering. Prior to drinking, shake the container a little to make better the water taste. Again, you can change the water flavour by pouring it into another container.
Distillation
You can also distill water to make it safe for consumption. Basically, this method involves collecting evaporated steam. People consider it a premium method of extracting contaminants from water. Based on this, it is a popular technique practised by persons all around the world. To carry out this treatment, you need a heat source, cooking pot, a tube the steam will pass through, and a container to collect the heated vapour. Simply heat the water, and the steam will move via the tube and collect in the bowl. Pollutants and pathogens cannot live in steam, so this water will be clean. A drawback to this method is that it can kill important salts and minerals in the water. To balance this, you may have to add some supplements, or eat foods packed with minerals.
Use a UV Light Purifier
This approach is straightforward. The purifier is a light designed in the shape of a pen, with a water bottle form. To use this method, first remove the sediments from your water by passing it through a clean cloth or coffee filter. It is important to take out all the large particles else this technique may fail. Switch on the light and place it in the water. Follow the instructions on the manual, move the light around the water for the stipulated time. Remove the purifier. Your water is ready for drinking.
Lodine treatment
Harmful water microbes can be eliminated at cellular levels using iodine which is also effective against thyroid problem. This substance is available in form of a liquid, tablet, tincture, and crystal. Giardia is also removed from iodine treated water particularly when allowed to stand for at least 50 minutes. However, a parasite like cryptosporidium may not die using this method of water treatment. As a tincture, apply 2 drops of iodine into a quarter of drinking water. For cloudy water, apply 10 drops in each quarter. Let the water sit for at least 30 minutes prior to use. If it is iodine in tablet or crystal form, follow the instructions on the packaging. In many cases, a 2,000 quart of water can be treated with a container of crystal iodine. The tablet form of iodine is compatible with travelling. Always store iodine in a dark bottle due to its sensitivity to light. Generally, iodine treated water shouldn’t be used by pregnant women, children, and those having thyroid issues. Based on this, iodine should be your last resort when considering at-home water purification solutions.
