Hey, i followed you right now and i love your blog and content :3. Well i wanted to ask you thi: as you know catradora is toxic and glimmadora is healthy and my question is if catradora IS or suppose to be toxic why the ship is so popular and if Glimmadora is healthy why almost nobody ship them ? ( i mean, the fandom saw a toxic ship inmidiatly they hate it and love the healthy one but in that case why it didn't happen ? and why they love catradora if it's toxic ? and most important question is why Glimmer and bow included Catra on the BFS if she hurt them a lot ? )

i think the main reason is that people want their ships to be "spicy". they see a healthy relationship that has good boundaries and mutual understanding and think that it's "vanilla and boring". i can understand wanting your favourite ship to be a little complex, rather than "person meets person and falls in love" but i don't understand the hype around making a ship as dramatic and angsty as possible, just drama for the sake of drama.

the truth is that c//a shippers don't realize that this ship is toxic. they merely label it as "complicated" or "angsty" because they don't or won't notice the red flags. they only ship c//a because a. sexual tension and b. catra is a poor traumatized baby who needs adora in order to survive.

so yeah, that's it. i've noticed this in a few other fandoms too, people hate on the healthy ship in favor of the more angsty and dramatic (and potentially toxic) ship, because that's what holds their attention. they want to see people fighting and sobbing and yearning for each other, not talking things through like adults and supporting each other.

since last month my commissions have been closed due to the new UK tax year beginning. as we all know, inflation is a thing and as much as i really like to stay... affordable, the more i've been working in the real world on various workshops/projects and being paid for that time, the more i've been realising how hard i work on drawing compared to the prices i charge and it's starting to kind of... wear me down.

i've been doing a serious re-assessment of how i do things in order to like, stay afloat, but i should just begin by apologising. no-one likes to see 'prices are changing' because it really means 'prices are increasing' which... is hard.

my plan is to offer like... a bigger range of things, as for the past couple months i have been pretty much exclusively advertising full body character art and chibi art only, but i want to go back to offering headshots for icons and half-body character art, etc.

thank you so much to all of you who follow me for my art, especially to those who have commissioned me in the past.

in the meantime, if you'd still like to support me, my tote bag shop still has a fair few bags hanging around waiting to get bought - i sew them all myself and they feature repeat patterns that i drew and tiled myself too. my ko-fi is also open.

my mom got very very drunk yesterday and she's an aggressive drunk, not physically but it amplifies her anger and irritation by like 6, and she's already a very very explosive and volatile woman. she got in a fight with her boyfriend and was screaming and drove off to the middle of nowhere and that's why my sister called and im so proud of her for reaching out and asking me to call, and i think she is too, she said she wants to call me more for sure and wants to ask more, and that she felt a lot better after we called. that feels good for me, even if im worrying about it now, at her age i didn't have anyone to turn to or call, so im glad i get to be that for her. i fucking hate my parents man

Completely random but can we please get more romance / erotica books where it’s a healthy relationship between the main characters and what attracts them to each other is more than just their looks? Like I want a story where the main characters find common interests, talk as often as they can, show emotional support to one another, and (in the specific case of heterosexual couples in romance books) is attractive in a different way than “rich, brooding, abusive, muscly man”. Just a thought.

Everyone is talking about whose to blame for inflation. Id say both parties going back 15 years. Monetized debt, lack of budgets, lack of infrastructure, not nourishing a broad, innovative tech base (tech = healthcare, ai, chips, biotech, communications, space, aeronautics, energy, Regen agri.....it's broad). An anti science stance is not good for progress but why families feel it most is because the liquidity to aid them didn't make into their accounts. That's a top down, banking issue. Pork in legislation, Trump tax cuts, burgeoning debt, legislative gridlock, PPP fraud, and waste confine monetary and fiscal policy. Bailouts & risk portfolios & unfunded liabilities.

But as I've said for about 5 years, they should work in tandem. When economies are roaring, debt is low taxes can be cut. When a little austerity and restructuring is needed. The job isn't solely the feds. Congress has to grow a pair.

The ebb and flow of monetary, fiscal policy should be fluid and in tandem.

The elephant in the room is who eats the cost of some deflation, contraction in a given sector? For 15 years it's been the consumer. Take a haircut on obscene wealth

Tax cuts for corporations are not the only way to foster growth. Thriving startups. Including the housing sector build communities.

Transparency, a clean tax policy, accountability.

I'm not keen on the Biden/ Harris ticket but their policies haven't been bad. The US is performing well comparatively
