Acknowledging and Healing Your Inner Child
We all need to heal, but instead we may ignore the signs or fail to understand what they are. We may not consciously think about the past and think we have moved on, but in truth, living consciously doesn’t dismiss your wounds. Simply they’re often just hidden beneath the surface, from view. But unresolved feelings from childhood (your inner child) rest-assured, will bubble up, affecting your relationships, your self-esteem, and even how you cope with challenges. When healing your inner child, do so without judgment, and use compassion.
Understanding the Need to Heal
I’ve always heard about the concept of the “inner child,” but it wasn’t until I truly paused to reflect that I realised how much of my childhood still lived within me. Over the years I’ve dealt with unmet needs, pain and fear. Choosing to acknowledge my inner child, I hope will be one of the most transformative journeys of my life. I’ve only known and carried trauma. Every day we live with trauma, is another day our inner child takes a knock. The truth is that without our inner child healing, we cannot heal.
Steps Towards Healing
Listen to Your Inner Child
Pay attention to how your inner child feels. When you feel anxious or triggered, ask yourself, “what would my younger self be feeling right now?”
Talk to your Inner Child
One of the most comforting practices you can do is talk to your inner child. It may feel strange at first as you’re doing it. But talking to it is self-care.
How to Talk to Your Inner Child
Tell yourself, “it’s okay, I see you, and I understand, it’s not your fault, you aren’t to blame, you had no choices.” These simple affirmations can help soothe the fears and insecurities you may be carrying.
Work on your issues
Over the years I've also had to do a lot of work on myself. Being born with something you don't you've got or why you have mental and emotional struggles manifests itself in everyday trauma. Every day the process was overwhelming – I needed to address those issues. Talk to your inner child – tell your inner child how you feel.
Embrace the Journey
For me, healing my inner child is an ongoing journey. It’s not about erasing the past, it’s not possible to do that, but I’ve had to learn to live alongside it with understanding and be kind to myself. I’ve also had to learn to be patient with myself, to understand my past, so that I could take back control.
The transformation hasn’t been instant or perfect — but by caring for my inner child, I’ve found a deeper sense of peace, self-compassion and authenticity. If you’re on a similar path, know that it’s okay to take it one step at a time. Your inner-child deserves your love, patience, and understanding for a better life.

What is Mercury Retrograde you ask?
All of the planets move in the same direction around the Sun, each with a different rate of speed.  Mercury’s orbit is 88 days long; therefore approximately 4 orbits of Mercury around the Sun equals 1 Earth year.
Mercury appears to slow down, then stop, (stationary retrograde) and then move slowly backwards for several weeks (retrograde).  Eventually, it appears to stop again and reverse direction (stationary direct) moving slowly forward once again (direct). Eventually Mercury appears to return to its normal orbital speed.(Mercury isn’t really going backwards, it’s just hanging out by the sun, but from Earth, that makes it look like it’s in reverse) There are three Mercury Retrograde periods each year, each lasting approximately 3 weeks.
As Mercury rules communication, clear thinking, truth & travel, during the time of retrograde it is advised that you don’t make any new beginnings or projects etc. This time period is perfect for:
❤ Reviewing and revising plans
Evaluate how well you've achieved your goals and what things you’d still love to bring into your life.Mercury Retrograde marks a period of Mercury “slowing down,” which means our requests and longings can find more potent expression into the universe. This is a terrific time to ponder intentions.

You might not want to submit, release, or publish them during this time, but old projects can benefit from a fresh look. Mercury also helps with creativity, making Mercury Retrograde an ideal time to edit or revise.

Spirituality often touches on the concept of a universal language or "coding"—a metaphysical blueprint that connects all existence. The universe operates on principles like balance, karma and synchronicity. By tuning into this coding, you can achieve greater alignment with life's flow. I briefly touched on this in my previous blog 'Decide, Align, Manifest: Choose with Intention'. Have you ever noticed that things happen when they're supposed to, at its exact time and there's nothing you can do to force or speed up the process; or make something happen. Nothing can be rushed – that what you wish for, may or may not happen. If something is meant to be it will work out. Spiritual signs? Those include repeated numbers, or meaningful coincidences – these are believed to be signals from the universe, guiding you towards alignment. The Role of Intentions
Spirituality emphasises the power of intent. Setting clear intentions, whether through affirmations, visualisation, or direct communications with the universe, allowing you to co-create your desired outcomes. Energy Exchange
Every action and thought is an exchange of energy. Spirituality teaches us to be mindful of the energy we give and receive, ensuring that we maintain harmony within and around us. Challenges and Growth in Spirituality
The spiritual path isn’t without challenges. When you have support and that support works with the universe, the universe will find it easier to help you align your wants and desires with synchronicity. Conclusion So, as already previously mentioned, spirituality isn't about declaring, “I am spiritual.” It’s about embodying spirituality through your thoughts, actions and personal behaviour. It’s about being a seeker and a co-creator of a more harmonious existence. It's about spiritual and emotional growth. True spirituality is about more than just speaking bout higher ideals, or identifying yourself as 'spiritual.' it’s about embodying those principles in daily life.
Many people claim to be on a spiritual path, yet they fail to engage in the practices and self-reflection necessary to genuinely live out their beliefs. Authentic spirituality requires consistent effort, personal accountability, and a willingness to confront one's own flaws and to grow. It’s not about adopting a label or appearing enlightened to others – it’s about doing the inner work to cultivate compassion, mindfulness and a deep connection to the world around us.
Walking the walk means aligning actions with words, demonstrating integrity, and living by the values you hold. Without the commitment, spirituality becomes a hollow claim rather than a transformative journey.
Are you ready to embrace the universal connection? Begin small, stay present and let the universe guide you. I can't remember how old I was when I embraced 'spirituality' but I do remember as a child, feeling and thinking there was a higher vibration. When you emerse yourself in its way of life fully, I doubt you will go back.
