Healthcare Staffing Agencies Near Me - Hero Care
What is healthcare staffing and its types?
Healthcare staffing refers to the process of recruiting, hiring, and placing qualified healthcare professionals into temporary or permanent positions within healthcare facilities. These facilities can include hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, and other medical institutions. Healthcare staffing is essential to ensure that healthcare providers have an adequate number of skilled staff members to deliver high-quality patient care.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/c248ec56c5714fd8c097859a6540b7ec/a86efb51b667db07-52/s500x750/f0b69491eedf82cc7339af8e6c7e9a5dbceb9b22.jpg)
There are several types of healthcare staffing, each catering to different needs and situations within the healthcare industry:
Temporary or Travel Staffing: Healthcare facilities often experience fluctuations in patient numbers or unexpected staff shortages. Temporary or travel staffing involves hiring healthcare professionals on a short-term basis to fill these gaps. Travel healthcare professionals are typically licensed individuals who work in different locations on temporary contracts.
Per Diem Staffing: Per diem staffing refers to hiring healthcare workers on a day-to-day basis. These professionals are available to work on short notice and are paid per shift. Per diem staff is particularly common in nursing and other healthcare roles where flexibility in scheduling is crucial.
Contract Staffing: Contract staffing involves hiring healthcare professionals for a specific period, often several months to a few years. Contracts can be renewable or fixed-term, and these professionals work under a contract agreement specifying the duration and terms of their employment.
Permanent Placement: Healthcare staffing agencies also assist in permanent placements, where they help healthcare facilities find full-time employees for permanent positions. This process includes recruiting, screening, and matching candidates to the specific needs and requirements of the healthcare facility.
Locum Tenens: Locum tenens refers to a Latin phrase that means "to hold the place of." In healthcare, it refers to hiring licensed professionals (such as physicians) on a temporary basis to fulfill positions left vacant due to a physician's absence, whether it's due to vacation, illness, or other reasons.
Allied Health Staffing: Apart from nurses and physicians, healthcare facilities often require professionals like radiologic technologists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and laboratory technicians. Allied health staffing agencies specialize in providing these types of professionals to healthcare institutions.
Healthcare staffing agencies play a vital role in managing workforce needs within the healthcare sector, ensuring that there are enough skilled professionals to deliver quality care to patients while offering flexibility to both healthcare workers and institutions.

What to Look for When Choosing a Recruitment Agency
Nursing Recruitment Agencies
Choosing the appropriate nursing recruitment agency could make all the difference in the world. Working with a valued recruiting agency may speed up the process and improve your chances of success, whether you are a job seeker looking for new opportunities or an employer looking for top talent. However, how can you tell which agency will best suit your needs when there are so many of them? The important things to take into account while selecting a recruitment agency will be covered in this blog post.
Specialization and Expertise
Assessing a recruitment agency's specialization and sector knowledge is crucial when evaluating them. While some provide a wider range of services, some organizations concentrate on particular sectors of the economy or job functions. Examine whether the agency's areas of expertise match what you want. Working with an agency that focuses on marketing and digital advertising might give you access to relevant job possibilities and industry insights if you are a job seeker looking for a marketing role. Similar to this, working with a recruiting agency that is familiar with your industry as an employer can assist you in locating applicants who have the necessary qualifications.
Reputation and Track Record
The reputation and performance of a recruitment agency tells you a lot about their reliability and success rate. Look for agencies that have a good reputation in the field and have received good feedback from candidates and clients. To acquire evaluations and feedback, you can look into online resources like professional networks or review websites. The agency's track record of effectively placing applicants in coveted roles or assisting businesses in finding exceptional talent should also be taken into account. A trustworthy agency will have a track record of achieving results.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/15b7752e963ca25fb990479396624329/430cec4148e04bbd-e7/s540x810/5db845ca22615f709661251470f82446833c42cd.jpg)
Recruitment Process and Methodology
To ensure an efficient and effective collaboration, it is essential to comprehend the approach and procedure of the recruitment agency. Ask them about the methods they use to find candidates or job openings, the screening procedures, and interview methods. Find out how they evaluate individuals for talents, cultural fit, and long-term success by asking about their evaluation procedures. An open and well-defined hiring procedure displays the agency's dedication to matching individuals and businesses in the best possible way.
Network and Reach
Your chances of success might be considerably impacted by the size and scope of a recruitment agency's network. An agency with a large network and good connections can reach top talent and untapped employment marketplaces. Employers gain from agencies that have access to a large pool of qualified applicants. Ask about the agency's professional network, corporate partnerships, and size of candidate database. A strong network shows that the agency has built relationships and can put you in touch with opportunities or people that are relevant to you.
Communication and Support
A fruitful collaboration with a recruitment agency requires effective communication and assistance. When you contact them, evaluate how quickly they respond and how easily you can reach them. Do they spend the time necessary to comprehend your needs? Do they proactively provide updates on the status of your job hunt or candidate search? Your expectations will be satisfied, and any worries or inquiries will be swiftly handled, thanks to clear and fast communication.
Fees and Contracts
Think about the costs associated with using a nursing recruitment agency. Know their rates and any additional expenses before working with them. While some agencies may have fixed costs or provide specialized pricing models, others may charge a portion of the candidate's salary upon successful placement. Check the fine print of their contracts to see if there are any assurances or money-back guarantees in case the candidate isn't a good fit or you're not happy with the service. Before making a commitment, make sure you are happy with the agency's rates and contractual terms.
Additional Services
Some agencies offer additional value-added services that can improve your experience in addition to the main recruitment services. Assistance with writing a CV, interview coaching, career counseling, or employer branding support are a few examples. Examine whether these extra services fit your demands and give you a competitive advantage during the hiring or talent acquisition process.
Conclusion A critical first step in reaching your hiring or job search objectives is selecting the appropriate recruitment agency. When evaluating agencies, take into account aspects like specialization, reputation, hiring procedure, network, communication, costs, and added services. You may identify a reliable agency that comprehends your objectives, connects you with the best prospects or individuals, and ultimately aids you in achieving success in your career or talent acquisition endeavors by completing comprehensive research and asking the correct questions.

FINDING THE RIGHT FIT: THE ADVANTAGES OF WORKING WITH A HEALTHCARE STAFFING AGENCY
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/7d7f9708f62a4cd8cb65501380d87585/3a6a9e0d40ed469d-1b/s540x810/8b650f649dcc1933a68eadb28d362c965ed8371b.jpg)
For healthcare facilities, working with a staffing agency can be a great way to find high-quality employees. But what are the other benefits of using a staffing agency? In this blog post, we’ll explore five key benefits of healthcare staffing agencies.
1. Healthcare staffing agencies offer a wide variety of positions in the medical field
Healthcare staffing agencies offer some of the most amazing opportunities for those looking to enter or stay in the healthcare field. Health Care Recruiters International (HCRI) specializes in finding health professionals their perfect job, whether it be traveling nurse assignments, permanent placements, or even health administration positions. HCRI is committed to helping healthcare workers find competitive (and maybe even adventurous!) positions that complement their career goals and are a right fit for them.
2. You can find both temporary and permanent positions through a healthcare staffing agency
Working in healthcare is so fulfilling and always changing plus having some flexibility can make all the difference. A great way to ensure autonomy when it comes to your career is to look for positions through a healthcare staffing agency. Whether you’re looking for a short-term placement or something more permanent, these agencies have plenty of options! With their comprehensive support systems, the process of finding something that best fits you is made much easier. So don’t be afraid to take the initiative and start searching through a healthcare staffing agency today, who knows what amazing opportunities await?!
3. Agencies do all the hard work for you
If you’re looking to transition into a new job, there’s no need to navigate the waters alone. Agencies are here to do all the hard work for you so you can focus on what’s important – getting hired! With extensive experience, agencies know exactly how to match your skill set to any open positions that may be available. They will also assist in negotiating a salary that fits your abilities and your desired lifestyle. No more spending hours on end searching multiple sources while dealing with the stress of finding work. Now, you can sit back and enjoy letting an experienced agency take over!
4. Access to more opportunities
Working with a recruiting agency is like having a secret weapon, granting you access to more job opportunities than you would have found if you had been job-hunting on your own. With the help of a knowledgeable and experienced professional, you can target roles that best suit your qualifications and experience. They also save you time, since they can locate open positions quickly and efficiently. Plus, when it comes time to submit your application, recruiters are there to ensure that your information effectively demonstrates both your hard skills and soft skills–putting the odds in your favor to get called for an interview or get hired! In short, a recruiting agency is a perfect companion for anyone who is serious about advancing their career.
5. Agencies provide support and guidance throughout the job-hunting process
Finding the perfect job opportunity can make a huge positive impact on your life and career. Securing the ideal role can mean so much; from financial security to professional satisfaction, the opportunities available through the job-hunting process are virtually limitless. However, with so many options available, seeking out these opportunities can be challenging. That’s why agencies are there to provide invaluable support and guidance throughout the lengthy process. Government-backed programs combined with private sector initiatives enable agencies to offer everything from job discovery platforms and online training courses to in-depth resume workshops and one-on-one career counselling. Invaluable resources like these empower individuals to make well-informed decisions that will have lasting consequences for themselves and their families – it’s no surprise that working with an agency has maintained its popularity!
Working with a healthcare staffing agency to find the perfect position in the medical field can provide you with amazing opportunities that wouldn’t be as easily accessible as a job-hunt on your own. With their wide variety of positions, exhaustive search capabilities, and offer of support and guidance — you will be one step closer to kickstarting a successful career in no time. So if you’re dreaming of immersing yourself in the world of medicine or expanding your current horizons, don’t hesitate to contact a healthcare staffing agency today! Don’t close the door on possibilities, open yourself up to what possibilities could come when you decided to put your future in an experienced agencies’ hands!

"Seven federal agencies are partnering to implement President Biden’s American Climate Corps, announcing this week they would work together to recruit 20,000 young Americans and fulfill the administration's vision for the new program.
The goals spelled out in the memorandum of understanding include comprehensively tackling climate change, creating partnerships throughout various levels of government and the private sector, building a diverse corps and serving all American communities.
The agencies—which included the departments of Commerce, Interior, Agriculture, Labor and Energy, as well the Environmental Protection Agency and AmeriCorps—also vowed to ensure a “range of compensation and benefits” that open the positions up to a wider array of individuals and to create pathways to “high-quality employment.”
Leaders from each of the seven agencies will form an executive committee for the Climate Corps, which Biden established in September, that will coordinate efforts with an accompanying working group. They will create the standards for ACC programs, set compensation guidelines and minimum terms of service, develop recruitment strategies, launch a centralized website and establish performance goals and objectives. The ACC groups will, beginning in January, hold listening sessions with potential applicants, labor unions, state and local governments, educational institutions and other stakeholders.
The working group will also review all federal statutes and hiring authorities to remove any barriers to onboarding for the corps and standardize the practices across all participating agencies. Benefits for corps members will include housing, transportation, health care, child care, educational credit, scholarships and student loan forgiveness, stipends and non-financial services.
As part of the goal of the ACC, agencies will develop the corps so they can transition to “high-quality, family-sustaining careers with mobility potential” in the federal or other sectors. AmeriCorps CEO Michael Smith said the initiative would prepare young people for “good-paying union jobs.”
Within three weeks of rolling out the ACC, EPA said more than 40,000 people—mostly in the 18-35 age range—expressed interest in joining the corps. The administration set an ambitious goal for getting the program underway, aiming to establish the corps’ first cohort in the summer of 2024.
The corps members will work in roles related to ecosystem restoration and conservation, reforestation, waterway protection, recycling, energy conservation, clean energy deployment, disaster preparedness and recovery, fire resilience, resilient recreation infrastructure, research and outreach. The administration will look to ensure 40% of the climate-related investments flow to disadvantaged communities as part of its Justice40 initiative.
EPA Administrator Michael Regan said the MOU would allow the ACC to “work across the federal family” to push public projects focused on environmental justice and clean energy.
“The Climate Corps represents a significant step forward in engaging and nurturing young leaders who are passionate about climate action, furthering our journey towards a sustainable and equitable future,” Regan said.
The ACC’s executive committee will hold its first meeting within the next 30 days. It will draw support from a new climate hub within AmeriCorps, as well as any staffing the agency heads designate."

I think the way nonprofits and public agencies are funded leads us to adopt some of the worst aspects of a capitalist mindset towards our service users.
In a business, the goal is clear: Generate profit. Sell more product, to generate more profit. Recruit more customers, to generate more profit. Upsell customers to a more expensive product, to generate more profit. Convince customers to keep coming back and buying more things, to generate more profit.
Manipulation is built into the process, and it's understood by all parties. When a business does something "for you," it's in the hopes that you'll buy (or keep buying, or buy more of, or persuade other people to buy) their product. When a company offers free ice cream with your insurance quote, it's not because they like you and and want you to have ice cream; it's because they want you to come for the ice cream, stay for the insurance quote, and buy their insurance policy before you leave, so they can get your money. Everybody knows this.
Nonprofits and public agencies theoretically don't have this motive. Theoretically, the services we offer are for you, the service user. Theoretically, there is no profit motive, and thus no motive for manipulation. Theoretically, whether or not people choose to use the services we offer has no effect on us, so our only goal in promoting or raising awareness of our services is so that potential users can know about them and decide whether or not to use them.
Theoretically.
But in reality, public agencies and nonprofits are funded by governments, foundations, and donors. They demand "data" to justify their funding, and a major source of "data" is the number of service users. Markers of success have to be measurable and numerical, even if that metric doesn't really make sense. So even if there's not directly a profit motive for recruiting service users as "paying customers," there can still be a financial incentive for recruiting as many service users as possible, including using "sales" techniques like giveaways and gimmicks.
Now, this isn't inherently a bad thing -- after all, people in the nonprofit sector want people to use our services, so we want to get the word out about what we have to offer. I'm not saying it's inherently wrong for a nonprofit to use a raffle or a giveaway or a pizza party or whatever to get the word out and recruit new service users.
But since the services we offer are supposed to be for the service users' own benefit, sometimes the attitude around promoting them slips into the idea that the people we're ostensibly trying to serve have to be manipulated or bribed or tricked into accepting services for their own good, because they don't know or care what's good for them.
This can get into some really unfortunate implications territory in the context of the demographics of people who tend to work at nonprofits and public agencies, compared to the demographics of people those agencies tend to serve.
Attitudes can quickly morph into "Those People don't care about their children's health/education/etc., so we have to trick and manipulate and bribe them with food and prizes."
There's a difference between "Giveaways are a fun way to get the word out about our services" and "Those People don't care about their children's diabetes risk unless we make them sit through a lecture before we give them food." And way too many public agency and nonprofit workers, in private, in what they think is a sympathetic audience, are way too open about saying the latter.

THIS IS A LONG POST BUT BEAR WITH ME IT’S IMPORTANT!!!!
I want to talk about something, and I’m going to start with something one of my professors shared on Facebook.
“The Silent Crisis That Could Shatter U.S. Public Health & Food Security
What if your grocery store suddenly ran out of meat, eggs and milk? What if a mysterious, untreatable infectionstarted spreading through hospitals? What if a deadly virus jumped from animals to humans, triggering a pandemic even worse than COVID-19—and no one saw it coming?
This isn't fear-mongering. It's what could happen if federal veterinarians start leaving their jobs in droves due to political instability and workforce cuts.
Veterinarians working for agencies like the @usdagov, @fda , and @cdcgov are the first line of defense against foodborne illnesses, zoonotic diseases, and agricultural disasters. They keep our meat and dairy safe, stop outbreaks of rabies, mad cow disease, and avian flu, and ensure that deadly viruses like African swine fever (ASF) don’t wipe out entire industries.
But if federal hiring freezes, layoffs, and policy shifts force them out, who will protect us?
- African Swine Fever could collapse the $20B pork industry, causing mass food shortages. Don't believe it? Ask Heather Fowler
- Bird flu could mutate and spark a pandemic like the Spanish Flu of 1918
- Rabies, brucellosis, and Q fever could spread unchecked, infecting thousands
Food Shortages, Economic Collapse, and National Security Risks
- The loss of federal veterinarians wouldn’t just lead to disease outbreaks—it would trigger a nationwide food crisis.
- Meat, dairy, and eggs could become dangerous to consume without proper safety inspections.
- Grocery prices would skyrocket, putting nutritious food out of reach for millions.
- International trade could shut down, as other countries refuse to buy U.S. meat and animal products.
- Even the U.S. military relies on veterinarians to keep food safe for deployed troops and care for army animals. Without them, soldiers could get sick from contaminated food, and security dogs could be left untreated.
The loss of these veterinarians wouldn't just be an inconvenience—it would be catastrophic for public health, food security, and the economy.
#Repost @myvetcandy”
These are aspects of vet med that a lot of people don’t think about, and we already have shortages of veterinarians in these departments. I can’t tell you the number of times I (and my peers) had military recruiters reach out to us during school offering to pay for us to finish our degrees if we agreed to join the military for so long afterward. (I even had a classmate actually go through with it who wasn’t already military). Also, the number of USDA vets I have seen begging people to join them. These people play critical roles in keeping us safe.
With the current avian influenza spreading through not only wild and captive bird populations, but cats and cattle and even jumping into humans from cattle, this is more critical to have these people now than ever before! This past year showed the first cattle to human transmission, something we never even thought was possible. Virus can be found in eggs and milk. These are the people in charge of making sure these products are safe to continue on for sale. If the Trump/Musk administration keeps cutting and firing people left and right, it’s only a matter of time before something happens (milk not getting properly pasteurized, sick animals accidentally ending up in line for slaughter, E. coli or Salmonella outbreaks not getting tracked, our troops overseas affected by severe food-borne illnesses, etc.).
So please, contact your senators and representatives. Beg them to stop this madness. Last week, it was a commercial airliner crashing into a Blackhawk helicopter, next month it could be an outbreak of Avian Influenza.

It drives me mad how much policy in the UK is just departments making shit up rather than something that's debated and voted on. Like the seasonal worker visa scheme I campaign around wasn't created by an act of Parliament, it was a Defra pilot that had a lot of issues with it that the agricultural lobby rode on and expanded it from 2500 workers to 45000 workers a year. There are lots of obvious things wrong with it (workers are only here for 6 months so they don't count towards immigration figures, they have to pay thousands in flight costs and visa fees which other schemes don't make workers do, there's this weird privatised labour enforcement system where recruitment agencies are expected to police the agricultural sector) that would have gotten ironed out if the legislation was debated. Transition related care for under 18s has been banned as a result of a review commissioned by the department of health, a review with lots and lots of problems, and a move which has spiked the number of suicides in transgender young people. There was no debate in parliament around this, no law, no vote, no way for people to even try to influence the direction of this policy. So many evil things have gotten through without any scrutiny whatsoever

****†** EVERYONE SHOULD READ THIS BEFORE YOU VOTE. ****Project 2025, also known as the Presidential Transition Project, is a collection of policy proposals to thoroughly reshape the U.S. federal government in the event of a Republican victory in the 2024 U.S. presidential election. Established in 2022, the project aims to recruit tens of thousands of conservatives to the District of Columbia to replace existing federal civil servants—whom Republicans characterize as part of the "deep state"—and to further the objectives of the next Republican president. It adopts a maximalist version of the unitary executive theory—which asserts that the president has absolute power over the executive branch upon inauguration. Unitary executive theory is a disputed interpretation of Article II of the Constitution of the United States. Project 2025 envisions widespread changes across the entire government, particularly with regard to economic and social policies and the role of the federal government and its agencies. The plan proposes slashing funding for the Department of Justice (DOJ), dismantling the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), sharply reducing environmental and climate change regulations to favor of fossil fuel production, eliminating the Department of Commerce, and ending the independence of various federal agencies such as the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). The blueprint seeks to institute tax cuts, though its writers disagree on the wisdom of protectionism. .
Project 2025 recommends abolishing the Department of Education, whose programs would be either transferred to other government agencies, or terminated. Scientific research would receive federal funding only if it suits conservative principles. The Project urges the government to explicitly reject abortion as health care and to restrict access to contraception. The Heritage Foundation, an American conservative think tank that leads the development of Project 2025, asserted in April 2024 that "the radical Left hates families" and "wants to eliminate the family and replace it with the state" while driving the country to emulate totalitarian nations, such as North Korea. The Project seeks to infuse the government with elements of Christianity, stating in its Mandate that "freedom is defined by God, not man." Project 2025 proposes criminalizing pornography, removing protections against discrimination based on sexual or gender identity, and terminating diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs, as well as affirmative action. The Project advises the future president to immediately deploy the military for domestic law enforcement and to direct the DOJ to pursue Donald Trump's adversaries by invoking the Insurrection Act of 1807. It recommends the arrest, detention, and deportation of undocumented immigrants across the country. It promotes capital punishment and the speedy "finality" of such sentences. Project director Paul Dans, a former Trump administration official, explained that Project 2025 is "systematically preparing to march into office and bring a new army, aligned, trained, and essentially weaponized conservatives ready to do battle against the deep state." Dans admitted that it was "counterintuitive" to recruit so many people to join the government in order to shrink it, but pointed out the need for a future President to "regain control" of the federal government. Although the project does not promote a specific presidential candidate, many contributors have close ties to Donald Trump and his presidential campaign. The Heritage Foundation has developed Project 2025 in collaboration with over 100 partners including Turning Point USA, led by its executive director Charlie Kirk; the Conservative Partnership Institute including former Trump Chief of Staff Mark Meadows as senior partner; the Center for Renewing America, led by former Trump Office of Management and Budget Director Russell Vought; and America First Legal, led by former Trump Senior Advisor Stephen Miller. The Project is detailed in Mandate for Leadership: The Conservative Promise, a version of which Heritage has written as transition plans for each prospective Republican president since 1980. Critics of Project 2025 have described it as an authoritarian Christian nationalist movement and a path for the United States to become an autocracy. Several experts in law have indicated that it would undermine the rule of law and the separation of powers. Some conservatives and Republicans also criticized the plan, for example in the contexts of centralizing power, climate change, and foreign trade.

"When the chief prosecutor of the international criminal court (ICC) announced he was seeking arrest warrants against Israeli and Hamas leaders, he issued a cryptic warning: “I insist that all attempts to impede, intimidate or improperly influence the officials of this court must cease immediately.”
...Now, an investigation by the Guardian and the Israeli-based magazines +972 and Local Call can reveal how Israel has run an almost decade-long secret “war” against the court. The country deployed its intelligence agencies to surveil, hack, pressure, smear and allegedly threaten senior ICC staff in an effort to derail the court’s inquiries.
Israeli intelligence captured the communications of numerous ICC officials, including Khan and his predecessor as prosecutor, Fatou Bensouda, intercepting phone calls, messages, emails and documents.
..
Since it was established in 2002, the ICC has served as a permanent court of last resort for the prosecution of individuals accused of some of the world’s worst atrocities. It has charged the former Sudanese president Omar al-Bashir, the late Libyan president Muammar Gaddafi and most recently, the Russian president, Vladimir Putin.
Khan’s decision to seek warrants against Netanyahu and his defence minister, Yoav Gallant, along with Hamas leaders implicated in the 7 October attack, marks the first time an ICC prosecutor has sought arrest warrants against the leader of a close western ally.
The allegations of war crimes and crimes against humanity that Khan has levelled against Netanyahu and Gallant all relate to Israel’s eight-month war in Gaza, which according to the territory’s health authority has killed more than 35,000 people.
...
Hacked emails and monitored calls
Five sources familiar with Israel’s intelligence activities said it routinely spied on the phone calls made by Bensouda and her staff with Palestinians. Blocked by Israel from accessing Gaza and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, the ICC was forced to conduct much of its research by telephone, which made it more susceptible to surveillance.
Thanks to their comprehensive access to Palestinian telecoms infrastructure, the sources said, intelligence operatives could capture the calls without installing spyware on the ICC official’s devices.
“If Fatou Bensouda spoke to any person in the West Bank or Gaza, then that phone call would enter [intercept] systems,” one source said. Another said there was no hesitation internally over spying on the prosecutor, adding: “With Bensouda, she’s black and African, so who cares?”. ......
One of the sources said the Shin Bet even installed Pegasus spyware, developed by the private-sector NSO Group, on the phones of multiple Palestinian NGO employees, as well as two senior Palestinian Authority officials.
Keeping tabs on the Palestinian submissions to the ICC’s inquiry was viewed as part of the Shin Bet’s mandate, but some army officials were concerned that spying on a foreign civilian entity crossed a line, as it had little to do with military operations.
“It has nothing to do with Hamas, it has nothing to do with stability in the West Bank,” one military source said of the ICC surveillance. Another added: “We used our resources to spy on Fatou Bensouda – this isn’t something legitimate to do as military intelligence.”
...
Three sources briefed on Cohen’s activities said they understood the spy chief had tried to recruit Bensouda into complying with Israel’s demands during the period in which she was waiting for a ruling from the pre-trial chamber.
They said he became more threatening after he began to realise the prosecutor would not be persuaded to abandon the investigation. At one stage, Cohen is said to have made comments about Bensouda’s security and thinly veiled threats about the consequences for her career if she proceeded.

Notes on "Empire of Care : Nursing and Migration in Filipino American History"
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/dabce832218d69446b12978314fbd9d6/4bd7996a1f955b4a-f8/s250x250_c1/474ed848dabe4ddbe54f7a953905dfe70dd0fe01.jpg)
Filipino nurse migration to the United States is just one aspect of a larger global flow of predominantly female migrants from the Philippines to over 130 countries.
This migration trend contrasts with early Philippine immigration, which consisted mainly of male labourers to the United States
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/b28970e455eb14b1355e67dc71427ff8/4bd7996a1f955b4a-56/s540x810/73ae73cc2b8c766a291818f9288b37080b5f136a.webp)
The migration of highly skilled nurses across borders is both a celebratory sign of their training and expertise but also highlights global power dynamics, where nurses from countries with severe nursing shortages migrate to provide care in highly developed countries like the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
Despite the important role of Filipino nurse migrants, little is known about their development and experiences.
Existing studies often group Filipino nurse migrants with other Asian professional migrants, which masks the unique aspects of their migration.
These studies often explain Filipino nurse migration through U.S. immigration legislation and economic opportunities, such as the 1965 U.S. Immigration Act and nursing shortages after World War II.
The "brain drain" theory is commonly used to explain professional migration from Asian countries, suggesting that professionals leave due to a lack of opportunities and economic incentives in their home countries.
Filipino nurse migrants are sometimes depicted as impersonal objects of study, preventing a comprehensive understanding of their multidimensional roles as historical agents, professionals, women, and immigrants.

The migration of highly skilled nurses reflects a global power structure where countries with nursing shortages, including the Philippines, send nurses to provide professional nursing care in highly developed countries like the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. The World Health Organization (WHO) report highlights the inequitable distribution of nurses worldwide, with developing countries having only 15 percent of the world's nurses despite housing two-thirds of the world's population (Empire of Care).
The culture of migration, shaped by narratives about the promise of immigration to the United States, including media portrayals and experiences shared by Filipino nurse migrants already in the U.S, plays a significant role in motivating Filipino nurses to seek opportunities abroad.
U.S. hospital recruiters actively collaborate with Philippine travel and recruitment agencies to aggressively recruit Filipino nurses, shedding light on what some researchers call the "institutionalisation of migration." However, these aspects are often overlooked in research, leaving a "critical void" in understanding the dynamics of Filipino nurse migration.
The lack of study about the exploitation faced by Filipino nurses from both Philippine and American recruiters and their American hospital employers is concerning. Additionally, the scapegoating of Filipino immigrants during challenging political times and the absence of professional solidarity between Filipino and American nurses remain underexplored issues.
The studies that include Filipino nurse migrants also marginalise and simplify the complex and dynamic history of the colonial relationship between the United States and the Philippines.
Pervasive myths of U.S. exceptionalism and benevolence persist and influence the perception of colonial history, downplaying the violent conquest of the Philippines and the racialized hierarchies it created. These myths are also perpetuated in contemporary times through media narratives about immigration and the incorporation of the "Third World" into the United States.
Despite their highly educated and skilled backgrounds, professional Asian immigrants, including Filipino nurses, still face resentment and hostility, as exemplified by the case of nuclear physicist Wen Ho Lee.

Foreign nurses, especially Filipino nurses, have been criticised for "taking jobs" from American nurses, leading to debates about their immigration and examination requirements. This criticism often overlooks the complex factors involved in Filipino nurse migration and the collaboration between Philippine and U.S. entities in facilitating the process. It also implies that Filipino nurses exploit the United States, rather than the reality of the situation (the United States exploiting Filipino nurses).
The history of U.S. colonialism in the Philippines perpetuated the interrelated myths of "white love" and "little brown brothers." These myths claimed that Americans embraced their colonial subjects with benevolence and enlightened American systems of education, infrastructure, and public health. Not only does this further promote the myths of American benevolence and American exceptionalism , it portrays Americans as superior to their Filipino counterparts in a racialised hierarchy.
American Exceptionalism in this context means Americans juxtaposing themselves against their "Brutal, European counterparts" in order to paint themselves as a benevolent force in the Philippines.

Can you draw more lore of your oc sanses? 🥺
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/481528d5c2969ec566a12b674670bde9/c75c8619bfc484dd-53/s540x810/a3ff89d6a424cb13dab80c23fb36aea04a87dd48.jpg)
I'll probably respond again with some art of their lore, but this is currently my sans ocs (in order left to right with a brief description)
1. D-DIN/Gill Sans; he started out as D-DIN, a worker for the Multiversal Intelligence Agency (M.I.A) that originally came from a 1950s detective Underfell Mafia AU. He was sent to Regicidefell to better understand the AU, soon being captured by Alphys as a gift to Papyrus and brainwashed into believing he was Sans to replace the original Sans of that world.
2. Scar Sans; from an original world much like Geno Sans, where in a genocide route he dodged too slow. The entire left side of his face is scarred so he is unable to use magic. He wastes his "afterlife" in a M.I.A void under constant surveillance, they're studying him to try to understand his situational immortality
3. Project Cancelled (P.C) Sans; From the same AU as the creator of the M.I.A, being his nephew. He is from the same timeline as P.C Papyrus and is responsible for the havoc that he is causing across the multiverse. His AU fell apart, now being cared for/working for the M.I.A under his uncle's wing. He can't use magic and his face is cracked and green from constantly having to be healed. His soul is extremely weak and he has to use wires to help control some of his motor functions due to how weak his body is. He's also the oldest of the group, being around 40ish years old (Papyrus being early 20s) he's also definitely a pothead and always has been. He also kinda has a complicated relationship with the Alphys of his universe
4. Regicidetale Sans; The tallest of the group and definitely the strongest when coming to health and stats. He has absorbed two human souls because of the difficult living situation in his original timeline. He comes from an original world, but much like Horrortale it was a neutral route (Pacific until Asgore). When Frisk passed the barrier it caused a cave collapse, killing almost everyone in the capital and causing the core to overheat Hotland and the Waterfall. Undyne took the crown after kicking Toriel out, banishing Sans and Toriel to the ruins. He's the only one of the group who has a child (and an actually good/healthy relationship lmao). He was recruited by the M.I.A for guarantee that Toriel, their child (I don't have a name for them yet 😭), and Papyrus to be safe and well fed. Originally working for P.C Papyrus until he was captured by the M.I.A and held for observation. Regicidetale Sans's AU has reached it's conclusion by the time he was taken from it, unlike many of the group.
5. Project Cancelled (P.C) Fell Sans; much like the original P.C Sans, he's in his late 40s. He showed more compassion to his version of Papyrus and played along with the brotherly role, so when another version of his brother (Original P.C Papyrus) said he could make him immortal for the price of his soul, he took the deal. He's now in hiding from P.C Papyrus after betraying him, letting him get captured by the M.I.A for the promise of protection. Originally he would travel the multiverse, collecting souls (human and monster) and DT for P.C Papyrus. He was unable to die unless the snake in his body was harmed, but P.C Papyrus was the only one that could control it. He soon got sick of the chores, deciding to betray P.C Papyrus for an easier life as a guinea pig for the M.I.A
Anywayyy, that's all for right now, feel free to ask questions and let me know what you think^^ I love drawing and talking about my OCS :]] I may do this same format with different OCs because most of mine are original, Toriels, or Papyruses lol
