You know which character of AFTG I really like but sometimes doesn't received enough credit? David Wymack.
That man was raised in a broken and completely toxic environment, where both his parents ended pretty badly, but he was able to pull himself together and get to learn Exy from one of it's creators. (Kayleigh Day)
Then he moved to train college teams, but instead of applying to coach in super fancy universities or with already known star athletes; he choose to stay in a basically unknown place because they gave him the opportunity to create a team with kids that had grown up like him. Like he said, he wanted to give people second, third... changes and opportunities, because he grew up with very few. And the players he choose, he knew the world will turn the back to them or already did; but he decided to support them anyways.
And not only by recruiting them, he often says he doesn't get into his players personal lives (and that is true) and that he complains about losing years from his life by dealing with his team, but my man was ready to throw hands with FBI agents if they didn't gave him Neil back. He allowed Kevin to stay, even though he knew he will probably never play again. He signed up Aaron and Nicky, because he knew they also needed help, not only to get Andrew on board. He put Neil back together after Evermore. And supported Renee when she wanted to get Jean to a better place.
I know he is not perfect, but he really shines when it comes to support and stand up for his team and his way of recruiting players.

I just remembered that up until 5th grade, all of the sports teams I was in weren't separated by gender. I played basketball and baseball with boys. And we did just fine.
It wasn't until 6th grade when they segregated it by gender. It didn't make sense to me. I was now in softball instead of baseball, because "softball is for girls" and "baseball is for boys" (which confused me bc my dad was on an adult softball team).
Now, my brother's all-male team didn't win a single game. My all-girls team won every single one.
They presented the boys' team with this HUGE trophy, and if you wanted replicas of it, they were $30 each.
My team was presented with a very small trophy. Extras were $5.
That's when I decided gender-segregated sports were bullshit.

aftg au where bee adopted andrew and later aaron when they were teens. she owns an apple orchard that the twins and occasionally a few of the foxes help run but it's almost harvest season and she needs help prepping everything for the town's fall festivals so she decided to put up a help wanted ad. neil, tired, alone, and running out of options, decides to apply. bee let's him use the renovated barn loft as residence when she learns he's homeless. andrew is wary, his family means everything to him and neil is a flightly little thing that could only bring bad news, but something about neil is familiar. maybe it's how he checks all his exits or how he flinches when people touch him or how he cradles the key bee gave him in his palm like it was a treasure instead of a piece of metal. he asks neil for truths and it's like bleeding a rock but he finds neil is more willing when truth is reciprocated. they spend their days walking down the lines of apple trees, harvesting and talking, and andrew is only a little mesmerized with the way neil's auburn curls blend with the red of the apples and his eyes match the sky like something deliberate, like he was meant to be here. andrew thinks that maybe he doesn't hate how neil looks at him like he's worth something. andrew thinks that maybe he doesn't want to lose this. he's still learning how to accept that not everything is transactional, he doesn't need to make deals to keep people close, hes still figuring out how to want things without the fear of them being snatched away. his mind screams at him to turn away and push any feeling aside but then neil is handing him an apple and smiling and telling him stories he says he's never told anyone else and andrew doesn't think he deserves this but he wants it

Thinking about how Grant (and the other kids yeah but specifically Grant) had only known Henry (yeah the other dads too but I'm thinking about Henry) for less than a day before getting dropped into the forgotten realms and then at least a month later when he sees him again he has to see totally different sides of him and his dad. How jarring must that be? You meet a guy and his insane sons and your first impression of him is that he's some tree hugger granola dad who's a total pushover and then the next time you see him it's in a death game where he volunteers to kill a man by shotgun blast to the face and then leaves the dead body of the guy outside to send a message to the other players. Imagine meeting this guy whose whole gig is being vegan and a free range granola parent and the next time you see him he's breaking into another explosive burst of anger and yelling at the arena that he will fight and/or kill anyone who comes to hurt you or his friends. Imagine knowing your dad all your life and seeing him one day and then having to know that your dad has killed someone. And then you kill a chimera and you're changed forever. And then you grow up and marry a man named Marco.

Man as much as I love Dan in king's men her getting angry at Kevin for not telling wymack that he is his dad doesn't make sense; like Dan I know you see coach as a father figure like all of them but have you not been paying attention girl?? Like Kevin ran from literal Yakuza and how do u think they would react ; did you think they would send wymack a gift basket if they knew??? It's been established that moriyamas are out of their minds; it does make sense I agree but like; once again they were literally a Yakuza; there was no way they would let wymack live ;at least for me she's human ofc she can have negative traits but like; as someone already said this in comments even Neil and whole team dismiss Kevin being raised in a actual cult and in the books Dan is being the right one ; like Neil at least you went to the nest ? you're supposed to get it the most; why Kevin kept quiet and also are you really surprised why Kevin didn't tell the team ? Yes he's been there for long but he gets treated like shit and constantly dismissed by the foxes? That being said I do love all of them to death and glad they have flaws; but sad they don't get acknowledged as much if you get what I'm saying

really interesting post. i know this is a joke and i don't wanna reblog and confront the op but it's so interesting that absolutely no part of this interaction seems, to me, to be bullying. like is it that they're teenage girls who are talking to each other? is it because they ask a question?

I've been rewatching Supernatural lately, which means it's time for
SPN!au Teen Wolf
Stiles is a gruff, anxious mess, driving Roscoe down the road toward another backwater town with some suspicious activity, slapping his step-brother, Scott, every time he reaches over to change the radio station. He's trying to keep one eye on the road and one eye on the sleeping angel in the backseat - angels aren't supposed to need sleep - but Scott keeps giving him sympathetic glances, so he must not be doing a very good job. It's just... As nice as it is that Isaac is apparently back and sticking around for a while, he wasn't exactly in great shape when he burst into the library of the bunker yesterday and he hasn't been awake long enough to give them an explanation yet. Stiles drags a hand down his face and pulls into the next service station, grunting in thanks when Scott offers to run in and get the coffee this time. He waits until Scott's inside - already apparently charming the tired cashier with his friendly smile and floppy hair despite the hour - before snaking his hand between the front seats to jostle Isaac. It's definitely not endearing at all that Isaac grumbles a little to himself and curls closer to the window before opening one big blue eye at him and any thoughts to the contrary are getting shoved right down into the place he keeps all the other ones their dad would kill him for. In the backseat, Isaac smacks his lips together and sits up, face immediately serious despite the drool still drying on his cheek.

jay not asking coach about letting lonnie onto the team bc he doesn’t want to do anything coach might disagree with…….
#‘coach trusts me…’ like what if i cried#man i wish they made more of a thing of jay being TEAM CAPTAIN#<- i’ve made a post before abt how easily he gives it up & jay not liking positions of power etc etc#but i do think he treats the role like it could be taken away at any moment#coach TRUSTS him. holy shit coach trusts him#the first positive adult figure in his life trusts him to take care of the team#train them and critique them and lead them to victory#and coach probably wouldn’t have cared abt lonnie being on the team#but jay is sooooo hesitant to ask#coming from the ‘if you want it take it and if you can’t take it break it’ guy#like this is the one thing he doesn’t want to risk breaking…….#and then obviously he gives it up!!!!!#he gives up the thing coach TRUSTED HIM WITH bc it was the only way to let lonnie on the team#& mr ‘my only dislike is women being unhappy’ was like I CANNOT REST UNTIL LONNIE IS ON THE TEAM#it’s suchhhhh a sweet gesture not only from a hashtag feminism standpoint#but also character wise for jay#like this precious thing that coach has trusted him with but didn’t really want that much anyway…..#it’s going to mean more to lonnie if she had it. even though it means everything to jay#oh it makes me crazy#damn my mum was right. i think too deeply about things#im like i analyse things a normal amount and then i’m writing essays about 1 line from descendants 2#I AM UNWELL#anyway. jesus christ#descendants#jay son of jafar#EDIT i’m not finished actually#do you think jay fears the repercussions? what would happen if he went against coach’s word?#bc sure. he knows coach is nice. he knows auradon isn’t like the isle#but. ‘you don’t want to be at my house at dinner time’…….#he is still scared of his dad. you know. he can never get the lamp he can never do anything right

So a little bit of a story time from last night:
i have no memory of writing this, i wish i was joking, but i wrote an entire half chapter from my relativity falls au rewrite (5000 words) as well as 2500 words from my personal project that i've been stuck on for months now
i have zero memory of opening my laptop, typing all this out, closing my laptop and going back to sleep
i read through it and holy shit I would not have thought of half of these things like I was shocked, jaw on the floor where the hell did this come from??? who wrote it??? certainly not me because i would remember exactly what i wrote????
