Diwali [or Dipawali] is India's largest holiday, The festival gets its name from the row (avali) of clay lamps (deepa) that Indians light outside their homes to symbolize the inner light that protects from spiritual darkness. . Shiva
Shiva (Siva) is one of the most important gods in Hinduism and a member of the holy trinity (trimurti) with Brahma and Vishnu. Shiva is a complex character who may represent goodness and benevolence, and he serves as the Protector. Shiva is also associated with Time, and in this capacity, he is both the destroyer and creator of all things.
In Hinduism, the universe is thought to regenerate in cycles (every 2,160,000,000 years). Shiva destroys the universe at the end of each cycle which then allows for a new Creation. Shiva is also the great ascetic, abstaining from all forms of indulgence and pleasure, concentrating rather on meditation as a means to find perfect happiness. He also has a darker side as the leader of evil spirits, ghosts and as the master of thieves, villains and beggars. Shiva is the most important Hindu god for the Shaivism sect, the patron of Yogis and Brahmins, and also the protector of the Vedas, the sacred texts.
Shiva, Parvati & Ganesha
Shiva's wife was Parvati, often incarnated as Kali and Durga. She was in fact a reincarnation of Sati (or Dakshayani), the daughter of the god Daksha. Daksha did not approve of Sati's marriage to Shiva and even went further and held a special sacrificial ceremony to all the gods except Shiva. Outraged at this slight, Sati threw herself on the sacrificial fire. Shiva reacted to this tragedy by creating two demons (Virabhadra and Rudrakali) from his hair who wreaked havoc on the ceremony and beheaded Daksha. The other gods appealed to Shiva to end the violence and, complying, he brought Daksha back to life but with the head of a ram (or goat). Sati was eventually reincarnated as Parvati in her next life and she re-married Shiva.
With Parvati, Shiva had a son, the god Ganesha. The boy was in fact created out of earth and clay to keep her company and protect her while Shiva went on his meditative wanderings. However, Shiva returned one day and, finding the boy guarding the room where Parvati was bathing, he enquired who he was. Not believing the boy was his son, and thinking him an impudent beggar, Shiva called up the bhutaganas demons who fought the boy and eventually managed to distract him with the appearance of the beautiful Maya and, whilst he admired the beauty, they lopped off his head. At the commotion, Parvati rushed from her bath and screamed that her son had been killed. Realising his error, Shiva then sent for a new head with which to make the boy whole again but the nearest at hand was of an elephant. And so Ganesha, the elephant-headed god, was born. Other sons of Shiva are Skanda or Karttikeya, the god of war and Kuvera, the god of treasures.
Ganga (the goddess who personified the river Ganges) was given to Shiva by Vishnu who could not take any more of the constant quarrels between his then three wives of Lakshmi (goddess of good fortune), Saraswati (goddess of wisdom) and Ganga. To cushion Ganga's fall to the earth, and prevent such a great river destroying civilisation, Shiva caught her in his hair topknot; once again, illustrating his quality of self-sacrifice.

Hindu boi -> Fat Hijabi Sissy Sow
As a fat Hindu boi, I never had any future, since in the MNWO, I couldn’t get a job, and no girl thought of me as a man. This made me depressed and I started eating a lot. But the food that I was eating was the ration provided by the MNWO. Since the advent of MNWO, food was plenty, and was given freely to everyone, but the food given to us Hindus was lower quality high fat food. This meant that I got fat very quickly. That is when I observed that all the Muslim men had started looking at me differently; almost like they were preying on me. This gave me mixed feelings, since I was scared, but it also made me hard down there. One of the Muslim guys: Mohammad even wanted to become my friend, so I agreed. We started hanging out regularly, but he used to get too physical, like he would tackle me and pick me up; despite my heavy weight. He’d also grope me a lot.
Then one day, he gifted me a scarf. He said, he saw it and thought of me, so wanted to give it to me. I was so touched, and he even offered to tie it around my head, so I let him do it. He wrapped it around my head, and when I saw my reflection, I fell in love with it. The soft fabric framed my face so well, and made me look so good; no, not good, but beautiful and pretty. I looked so dainty. And when I turned to look at Mohammad, I saw him in an entirely new light; I could see him for what he was: tall, dark, handsome and absolutely masculine; a total contrast to my dainty feminine self. I felt shy and submissive against his imposing presence. I wanted to submit to him then and there, and wanted to be taken by him, and be made into a true woman.
Tumblr media
Mohammad must have read my mind, for he picked me up and started vigorously kissing me. He took me into the bed room where he made me suck his large cock for a good 15 minutes before he ruthlessly rammed it up my bum. I never knew it would be so painful, I screamed and started crying, begging for him to stop but Mohammad where not going to stop, he kept on raping my ass until it was so loose that I stopped feeling any pain. I lay there almost lifeless, on the verge of passing out. I thought I was ready for it, but he made me understand I was far from being a Muslim Woman; HIS Muslim Woman. But he fucked me until I started feeling pleasure and came twice on his cock before he filled me up with his seed.
He must have activated my dormant eggs deep within my anal cavity (the famous golden mother phenomenon), as I started gaining weight and soon came to know that I was pregnant. Hearing this, we were both so happy, and he proposed me to be his wife. All that was 10 years ago, and since then, I have become his full time wife and mother to his children. I know I have gained a lot more weight, but hey, remember, my fat ass was exactly what attracted Mohammad to me, and as it grows fatter, he fucks be even better; something about me screaming like a fat little piggy sow when he fucks me turns him on even more. Well, as long as he is happy!!

My Day to Day Life as a Hellenic Polytheist: Altars, altars, altars! [post 4/4]
Hello Temple patrons and visitors, in lieu of doing days 6, 7, & 8 of @wisdom-devotee 's 31 Days of Hellenic Polytheism I decided to instead answer the questions through a narrative blog post (since the questions for these three days flow together).
I have kept a standing altar (an altar that I leave out and erect all the time) of one kind or another, pretty consistently for the past 7 years.
I just recently moved into a new home, which means crafting a whole new setup for my altars and worship space. In this new home I've actually been able to create, not just 2 standing altars, but 7 shrines dedicated to my 5 Household Gods - as well as 2 Hindu deities (Shiva and Shakti-Durga-Kali). All of these altars have been an immense labor of love and I am so happy with how they have turned out.

End-of year Director's Cut ask game!
Aaaand this question is about my fic your fangs in my neck (like an anchor like a vow). This is for @nuttersinc who asked:
your fangs in my neck: how did you come up with the premise? And I loved it, it was so hot and also so touching ❤️
Thank you so much for the question! I'm so happy you liked the fic. 🥰
The way it happened was, I had been thinking about writing a vampire fic for Dead Boy Detectives very early on.
But, fun fact, at the time I had immediately decided I wanted to subvert the trope of "prim posh repressed white boy = vampire, rebellious fun angry bisexual = werewolf", and I wanted it to be switched. (I might still write a fic about that, actually. Just have to find the right idea for a smidge of plot... but also @jube-art has a whole bunch of AU fanart with vamp!Charles and werewolf!Edwin here and here, so if you like the concept, RUN! 😜)
Anyway, despite my best efforts to subvert the trope, my brain was apparently feeling lazy, because it just LATCHED onto the idea of vampire!Edwin. The repression, the starvation, the fear of imposing on Charles with his feelings/needs... you know. Some of the messages I sent @lolotr at the time said, and I quote:
"oh god vampire Edwin is so tastyyyyy"
"and I know I talked a lot more about Charles being the vampire but goddamnnnn Edwin being the vampire works so well with the themes, fuck"
Also I just looked it up and I'm pretty sure I also saw this fanart by @kazalmilk around that time, and I think it kind of encouraged a vibe of "Edwin drinks from Charles and H A T E S that he has to" (that's what it did in my brain, at least).
Then I agonized over what Charles could be. He could be a ghost, but then the conflict would have been about Edwin drinking from someone else, and I ended up rejecting that option.
He could be a werewolf, but I was still kind of mad at myself that I was writing vampire!Edwin before vampire!Charles, and I didn't want to give in FULLY. 😜 Also, werewolves are mortal, and I didn't like the idea that 1) they hadn't spent 30 years together, because I didn't want to reduce their long history to only a few years and 2) I didn't want their future to not be forever.
I also toyed with the idea of making Charles an angel, like in this gorgeous fic by @shanastoryteller (I'm oversimplifying, just go read the fic, it's excellent). But then there was some other issue with the concept that made me lean away from that as well. I think it was something about how I didn't want to separate them that much? Like I didn't want Charles to be Heaven-related with Edwin being a vampire, because then their whole history would have been changed.
I was still just playing with the whole thing, writing bits and pieces, absolutely not convinced it would ever be finished or that I even had a solid story to tell (well, beyond that thigh-biting scene 😁).
But THEN I wrote the pub scene. And completely without thinking about it, I wrote Charles turning around to snarl at that guy who was flirting with Edwin, and suddenly there was fire in his eyes and he had a sword and a CROWN?!
And I went, okay, that feels right. Of course Charles deserves a crown. What kind of entity could have a crown? And with a bit of research I found out about Devas from Hindu mythology. That gave the crown a shape, because suddenly it was a mukut, and it gave body to Charles' supernatural nature.
The more I read about it, the more right it felt, and from that point on I knew I had the fic. 😊
Thank you so much for your question @nuttersinc, I really appreciate it! I hope you liked my little rambly answer. Happy New Year! ❤️💕💖

Here's the thing. I wouldn't have a problem with people just saying "Merry Christmas" if other major religious holidays were acknowledged too. If around late October everyone was like "happy Diwali!" and every Rosh Hashanah people said "shana tovah" or it was standard to wish people Eid mubarak, then a "Merry Christmas" would just be a marker of time and I would feel like it's someone else's turn to celebrate in the multi-cultural cycle of annual celebrations. Because the thing is, these holidays tend to happen off the radar of the dominant culture in culturally Christian countries. Christmas specials are a norm, but the Diwali episode of The Office was a one-off, the Jewish high holidays barely show up even in shows with Jewish characters, Chinese New Year is... where is it? Right? Where's the representation? I mean, the reason a holiday like Hanuka gets emphasized next to Christmas and rolled into "Happy Holidays" (as does Kwanzaa) is because that means these holidays can be gathered around being able to keep Christmas central to the season. Hanuka is a minor holiday; funny how Purim, which is of similar status among Jewish holidays, is a blip outside of Jewish communities.
If Christians were able to be as comfortable with Rosh Hashanah and Eid and Diwali and Chinese New Year and other festivals as they expect the rest of us to be with Christmas, then I'd say ok fair, everyone has their festivals and we all pay attention to each other and know how to give well wishes that are culturally respectful and it's wonderful! It would just be living in a society where people from diverse backgrounds respect and acknowledge each other (what a concept). What bothers me is that not only are no other religion or culture's holidays acknowledged or given thought in culturally Christian societies, but the only way to get any acknowledgment is to have your holidays timed around Christian holidays like Christmas. If the Maccabees had stayed up in the mountains for another month, Hanuka would be treated as the minor holiday it is. If Diwali was a couple months later than it is, then it would be called the "Hindu Christmas" and Hindu people could rightfully be frustrated about that.
It bothers me so much that Western culture is so deeply centered around Christianity that we have debates over whether "happy holidays" is an OK thing to say or not, instead of asking, "what if you just learned about other holidays too and respected them as much as you demand respect for yours?" And we're all thinking it. Non-Christians talk about this, btw. But we know that if we say it out loud, then it makes the Christians (including the atheist cultural Christians*) angry because they know it's a bad look to say the quiet part out loud: that they think they're superior and expect everyone to acknowledge this without them having to give non-Christian cultures basic respect in any genuine way.
*this is specific to atheists who consider themselves culturally Christian. if you don't belong in BOTH these categories don't @ me. there's no implication that the two go irrevocably hand in hand and your lack of reading comp skills isn't my problem. i don't have spoons for a baby Richard Dawkins tantrum.
