Welcome to the Layton NPC Showdown!
This is a bracket to determine which of the many memorable NPCs from across the Professor Layton games are the greatest.
GAMES INCLUDED: Every game except LBMR. Eternal Diva characters are also not included here.
WHAT COUNTS AS AN NPC?: Anyone who doesn't have a puzzle animation. Characters excluded are Layton, Luke, Flora, Clive, Emmy, Randall, Aurora, Des, Espella, Phoenix, Maya, Katrielle, Ernest, Sherl, Hastings, and Emiliana.
WILL THERE BE NOMINATIONS?: Nope! Every NPC will be included.
WHAT ABOUT THE LAYTONMOBILE/MOLENTARY EXPRESS?: No vehicles. Not characters.
WHAT ABOUT THE PUZZLE LADS/LASSES?: I only plan on including characters that we can speak to in-game, so no Puzzle Lads or Lasses. Sorry to the people who like them 😔
WHICH CHARACTERS ARE INCLUDED, THEN?: Anyone who isn't an exception listed above that is in the profiles of the game! A full list is enclosed below.
WHEN WILL THE TOURNAMENT START?: More information forthcoming on that! I have to seed the bracket first :)
WHY IS NAIYA YOUR ICON?: In my opinion, she's one of the more underrated NPCs of the series. I'll probably cycle through some of the ones I have available to me right now.
WHAT CRITERIA SHOULD I VOTE ON?: Whatever makes you happy :)
ARE ALTER EGOS SEPERATE CHARACTERS?: No. For instance, Ratman is not included because his secret identity is in the tournament.
US OR UK NAMES?: I will try to make available as many names for the NPCs as possible! Which includes their Japanese names and as many names in the localizations as I am able to obtain from the wiki and my own sources. I'll probably reliably have the English (both versions where applicable), Japanese, and French names for every character when I do the bracket rounds. The list below however is entirely in English.
And now for a list of the entries! I didn't check all of these for inconsistencies, but I attempted to ascertain that I used the US versions. Some of them might be UK versions though because that's the version of the game I have (specifically Diabolical Box NPCs and Last Specter NPCs -- I know some of their US names but not all).

Remember Hannah Montana? Remember when her best friend Lily didn’t sing? Well now she’s totally does. And her debut single is absolutely sweet...
Recording under the whimsical moniker of Bluebiird, Emily Osment’s ‘Black Coffee Morning’ is as dreamy as it sounds, a gorgeously mellow track that unravels in a loose sprawl of bristling reverb and reflective strums that slowly burst into an exuberant horn-laced chorus, with Osment’s serene vocals helping to soothe a weary soul.
Bluebiird says about the track via press release:
‘Black Coffee Morning is the product of a short lived relationship that was both parts wonderful and intensely disastrous. The exploration of the way a heart can bend without fully snapping is a beautiful lesson we all learn at one point in our lives, and the way we move around in our new knowledge of self afterwards is what makes us who we truly are. The production of this song came easily once we allowed the chorus to stand on its own without lyrics.
‘Often I write in one train of thought and chop it up and place it all carefully later. I wanted big noise to be adjacent with quiet emotion, the cheering of children to come after the tameness of adulthood creeping up slowly in the verses. There is so much brass, and chaos and honesty on this track, in some ways it embodies all the things I wanted to say but couldn’t at the time. The french have a phrase for it “l'esprit de l'escalier” or “the spirit of the staircase.” Having the right words too late. I am grateful for every lesson a new song teaches me once I find the courage to write it down. Love forms from truth and should not be used as an escape from reality. This song is about deceit. Isn’t it clever the way caffeine makes you talk?’
As well as recently starring in such shows as The Kominsky Method, Young and Hungry and Mom, Bluebiird is also set to release her debut EP, on which she collaborated with Zac Rae from Death Cab for Cutie and Danny Levin, who has recorded and performed with the likes of Gary Clark Jr, Vampire Weekend, Rilo Kiley and Twenty One Pilots, among many others.
One to listen to when you wanna feel as free as a goddamn bird... (◡‿◡✿)

⭐Lo mejor de Netflix
🎬 Black Sails (TV Series)
Serie de TV. (2014-2017). 4 temporadas. 38 episodios.
Pais: Estados Unidos
Dirección: Jonathan E. Steinberg (Creator), Robert Levine (Creator), Steve Boyum, Neil Marshall, Sam Miller, Alik Sakharov, Lukas Ettlin, Marc Munden, T.J. Scott, Clark Johnson.

[Fuente]
[Fuente]

#340 October 30, 2018
Matt writes: Just because you're stuck at home answering the door for trick-or-treaters on Halloween doesn't mean you can't have a delightfully spooky evening yourself. Two ten-hour programs ripe for seasonal binging recently premiered on Netflix and received enthusiastic reviews at RogerEbert.com. Mike Flanagan's limited series "The Haunting of Hill House," reviewed here by Brian Tallerico, is a genuinely unnerving, often brilliant reimagining of Shirley Jackson's classic novel about ominous ghosts, mental illness and frayed familial bonds. The other must-see show is "Riverdale" creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa's "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina," a marvelously acted, richly provocative new vehicle for the supernaturally inclined Archie Comics heroine, played by a perfectly cast Kiernan Shipka. In my review of the first season, I explore how Osgood Perkins' masterful debut feature, "The Blackcoat's Daughter" (starring Shipka), served as a major influence on Aguirre-Sacasa, and could serve as ideal Halloween programming itself (check out the trailer embedded below...)

Buncombe Co. NC Genealogies and Histories #northcarolinapioneers
Buncombe County Wills and Estates
Buncombe county was formed in 1791 from parts of Burke County and Rutherford Counties. It was named for Edward Buncombe, a colonel in the American Revolutionary War, who was captured at the Battle of Germantown. The large county originally extended to the Tennessee line. Many of the settlers were Baptists, and in 1807 the pastors of six churches including the revivalist Sion Blythe formed the French Broad Association of Baptist churches in the area. In 1808 the western part of Buncombe County became Haywood County. In 1833 parts of Burke County and Buncombe County were combined to form Yancey County, and in 1838 the southern part of what was left of Buncombe County became Henderson County. In 1851 parts of Buncombe County and Yancey County were combined to form Madison County. Finally, in 1925 the Broad River township of McDowell County was transferred to Buncombe County.
