Well…there’s this one anon called “Boombox Anon” who hacks Scott’s suit to play music. They actually hack it, we don’t know how, and apparently, they’ve done it once since the upgrades.
Tumblr media
Are you serious!?
Of course someone did….
Now I wanna meet this “boom box anon” and have a few words with them. Honestly I want to know how they were able to STILL get past my upgraded firewalls and hack the suit. Maybe that way I’d actually be able to fix it.
I had twenty different fire walls on that thing…am I just losing touch?

ah yes, pointing out that words have meaning and things aren't just what you say they are bc you say so is "manipulative." I am BEGGING people to get some basic critical thinking skills.

Song of the Day: March 27
"Long Time Gone" by The Chicks
#song of the day#I'm still thinking about the Country Songs About Country Songs#this is actually a cover too though I never hear the original around anywhere#(it's by Darrell Scott who is also the originator for 'You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive'#turns out he's got a bunch of songs that got picked up and made somewhat more popular in the hands of other folks. an interesting legacy)#the best lines of this song to sing are also the bits About Country Music--well the whole song's about chasing the love of it#but this bit is bemoaning the kids these days you know. country music isn't what it used to be. why back in my day etc etc#it's so so so much fun to sing too because you get to exaggerate your 'I think's until they rhyme with 'Hank'. excellent work#'we listen to the radio to hear what's cookin / but the music ain't got no soul#now they sound tired but they don't sound Haggard / they got money but they don't have Cash#they got Junior but they don't have Hank / I think I think I think / the rest is a long time gone'#it's fascinating to me to think about these songs in (saying 'historical' here is giving me psychic damage but) historical context#because the Darrell Scott original for Long Time Gone came out in 2000 and The Chicks released their version in 2002#so they were talking about the trend towards American jingoism in country music of the time#versus like Waylon Jennings in 1975 'Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way'#(I typed that and /then/ went back and looked up the release date and I'm so proud I got it right)#already bemoaning the state of country music in the 70s versus good old classic country like Hank Williams Senior sang#(Hank Jr covered Waylon's song in 1981. like yes it's a tribute to his father but also Hank Jr was a big push towards outlaw country#and has a few pretty famous songs himself about not singing like his daddy did. it just seems a strange choice to me)#and then Eric Church put out 'Lotta Boot Left to Fill' in 2009 calling out the shallowness of the country music scene of the time#(talking some only-thinly-veiled shit about a few of his peers in the process)#and then he released 'Stick That In Your Country Song' in 2021 and that /definitely/ put some backs up#that one's a less directed but more direct call-out if that makes any sense#no lines that are direct references to other artists' songs but stronger sentiments overall#not just general 'y'all are getting shallow prioritizing good times and high sales over genuine heart and integrity of craft'#but some straight up 'you have forgotten the face of your father' shit towards country artists and fans alike. the whole industry#a very good righteous-anger song

I'm unsure if it's a good scenario or not but it's something I've been thinking of kamski fucking with the water in Connor's tank could be using a different chlorine or salt level or something and it causes him to get allergic stuffy runny gills and red nose lots of sneezing but Connor tries to hide the symptoms from Hank

:[ OOC ;; PYMTRON //; One of these days I'll do a whole post about how the Pymtron plot could have been good, because it really could have been. Ultron has always had the additional horror element to him that hes essentially hanks abusive stalker cutting out everything and everyone from his life wherever possible, trying to isolate him all while spewing his ideas that Only I Understand You Only I Know How You Truly Think I Have Your Mind. Think about it, the idea of ultron taking Hanks Face, His Likeness, Keeping him Hostage in his own body, making it so no matter what happens anyone who says the name Hank Pym will only see ultron, anyone who googles him will only see the amalgamation, anyone who looks at him will only see ultron, and the scary part is if you look at it with that concept instead of what we got ; Ultron WON. The Heroes Gave Up on saving Hank. They Gave Up on the idea of ever freeing Hank. Ultron stole hanks face, his life, and made everything about him end up being About Him. Pymtron is Ultron's one true victory and its the one where he succeeded in taking Everything from Hank while he made him Watch. ]

Tell the class a scene you really like from DBH 👀
Oh this is probably going to be such an unoriginal opinion, especially for a Connor fan. But my fave would have to be the Bridge chapter scene. It's literally nothing but a tense conversation, yet it carries more weight for me than many of the other action packed scenes.
Hank having his "oh shit" moment where he finally comes to the realisation that androids may just be alive. And it's shaken him. I mean sure, he's worked with Connor for a day or so, and sure, he's seen some snippets throughout the investigation. Mostly androids running away or lashing out due to their mistreatment -- but robots showing love for one another? The arguably most human thing you could do? Hank didn't need the assistance in rationalising the want for another drink, but the Tracis sure helped anyway. At this point, I don't want to say that Hank's viewpoint is entirely changed, since if you're playing as machine Connor it can end quite badly, but it's what I would consider the most prominent turning point.
But what about Connor? I'm usually playing along the deviant route, so my Connor is usually snarky, but not an entire asshole like he is when you play full machine. And in those playthroughs, there's several small moments that Hank has seen Connor act sympathetic. But is it real? I like the fact that when Hank asks Connor why he didn't shoot the Tracis, the option for "Truth" is what leads to higher software instability. It may or may not be intended, but I'm definitely one of those that believe that Connor was designed to be a deviant. A deviant in the biggest amount of denial the world has ever seen. However, this chapter is what I would consider to be Connor's turning point.
I mentioned that I usually play the deviant route, but I would also note that when I do play machine Connor, I play him as manipulative. He will do and say whatever he can to achieve his goals -- this usually means being nice to Hank where possible -- but not at the risk of the mission. In this chapter however, if you've been acting as a machine this entire time, many dialogue options are locked out. And from memory there is no way to increase the relationship with Hank in this scene. There is no lying to him. No manipulation. It's either cool neutrality, or aggression. And for reasons I can't quite put into words, I really enjoy that fact.
