"Lovely cool weather for a walk uphill, don't you think dear?" Hands his beloved his thicker haori.

Yuichi has just returned from having a late lunch on the veranda with Kogitsunemaru, his current attendant, and Mikazuki, and is taking his spot again at his desk again to resume his work... when he sees that he's got a new message-- from another saniwa, it seems!
He's pleased to see it's from his first Konnosuke's new saniwa-- Saseki, it seems-- and that the transition is going as smoothly as expected.
However, as he keeps reading, he's caught off-guard. Another saniwa wants to visit? Here? Oh... Oh no...
Yuichi starts patting around his desk, as if scrambling to grab something, but there isn't anything specific there to help him deal with this situation. He knows the company he's just lunched with isn't far, as they'd just dropped him off at his office, so he does the next best thing his brain allows:
"Kogitsunemaruuuu!" he calls.
And it's no time before both touken danshi are dashing back down the hall to the office, and before he knows it, they're both by his side.
"Aruji, what's wrong? What do you need?"
"I need..." Well, he feels like he needs a swift kick to the head to maybe knock him out. Instead, he lifts a hand and holds it out to Kogitsunemaru, who takes it and gives it a gentle squeeze. It's been a good while since he's had this kind of moment of anxiety, as he's gotten into a halfway decent rhythm by now of dispatching teams and sorting out timelines. But this is a different kind of stress.
"It's alright, aruji," Kogitsunemaru assures him, taking a seat beside him. "Can you tell me what's going on?"
Meanwhile, Mikazuki goes and slides the door shut. No need to worry any possible passers-by just yet. Yuichi takes a moment to compose himself as best he can. His pick for attendant (& co) happened to be a perfect choice, as Kogitsunemaru and his calm, sweet demeanor could keep him from getting worked up even further.
"I... Well, I had written a letter to send with Konnosuke to his new saniwa, and they replied. He... asked to visit our citadel," he admits. Saying it out loud, it feels like a ridiculous thing to get this freaked out about. The two Sanjou swords look to each other with raised eyebrows. Mikazuki comes to sit across the table from them.
"I see," Kogitsunemaru says, nodding slowly. "And we've never had any visitors here, aside from those helping with the expansion construction."
"Not to mention, I don't believe you've met any other saniwa, either, have you?" Mikazuki chimes in. "I can see how this all might make you anxious."
"It does," Yuichi agrees. "But... I do want him to visit. I would like to make friends with him. It would be good to have our honmaru both be friends, yeah?"
"Of course!" So, the three of them start by making a plan to make sure the citadel is ready (being extra diligent in the chores, making sure they have proper accommodations, and preparing a proper dinner for when they arrive-- as well as putting together a party of some sort to be had), just to have something laid out for when actual plans are made for the visit. And then, he writes his response. Saseki-san,
Thank you for the reassurances. I'm happy to hear Konnosuke will be doing well.
As for a visit, I would like that very much, and I know my touken danshi would enjoy it as well. Perhaps, if it works for you, we can arrange something for a couple of weeks from now? We can chat in the meantime, but I think ample notice is best for both of us. I look forward to your reply!
Yuichi
[Bungou no Kuni, Citadel of the Mountain Lilies]
The master of the honmaru would usually spend his time with his paintbrushes once all paperworks are done. But today, he decided he would have a brief spar with one of his beloveds.
It was well around 45 minutes, and both Saseki and Kashuu had worked up a pretty good workout for themselves.
"Do mind yourself, my Master. You look like you could faint in my arms any minute~" A cheeky banter, one that Saseki had gotten used to, and grown to love.
Kashuu, my love, you clearly underestimate how I've grown even in my absence. Best prepare yourself~
Both men were about to shift into their fighting stance when a chime rang through the honmaru. Saseki knew that kind of chime, and one that he could not ignore.
Kashuu perked up to attention as well. "Master?"
The kudagitsune rotation is almost done. Shall we wrap up our training?
The uchigatana nodded. "Right."
Saseki sent off his current Konnosuke with a fond pat and a well-wishing calligraphy message to the next honmaru somewhere in Satsuma no Kuni, before receiving his new Konnosuke. Oh, he's a bit wet here and there but not drenched. The letter (and this Konnosuke) was from the neighboring Buzen no Kuni, but the previous citadel must be somewhere where rain is almost prevalent, no?
He read the letter carefully, and almost chuckled at the last part, patting this Konnosuke gently as he dried him up.
My friend, I'm afraid I don't have shrimp at the moment for you, but I will tell Nakigitsune to get some from the Yorozuya later for your little treat. Would your previous Saniwa be opposed to a visit from me, though?
Konnosuke shook his head. "I think it'd be lovely if you would! It would do both of you good to know more about each other, and who knows, maybe you both can work on a partnership!"
Partnership, you say... I think we can do well with a friendly intro to start off. Thank you, Konnosuke. Make yourself at home with everyone. I'll have Kashuu get you settled too.
He went back to his studio, fingers now deftly work on his letter to send to the other Saniwa...
Dear Yuichiさん, Your letter is a rare treat in itself, and I thank you for your confidence in me. He's already a dear to me, and rest assured my swords and I will also take good care of him. I don't suppose you'd be against getting a visit from me, do you? I'd love for us to at least get to know each other somehow. If you're more comfortable to exchange letters, that's fine by me as well. I wouldn't want to impose you with a sudden uninvited visit after all. Either way, do let me know whenever you're convenient. I'm in no rush at all. ~Saseki

Halfway Saniwa (Ch.3)
{Chapter 3: Welcome to the World}
<Japanese> “English” ‘thoughts’ The next week was a big day, it would be the first time she could step outside of the sterile room. Dressed in with a simple attire, Kaiita waited with baited breath outside a door which attached to a partition chamber separating her from the outside world. She could see people on the other side of the room, some resembled doctors or something she’d assume to be so- and the other- was dressed unlike anything she’d been prepared for.
< Ready Kaiita-san?>
The text dialogue translated the Japanese for her spoken over the intercom, and swallowing any doubt she gave a curt nod in reply. There was a sound of hissing air passing back and forth through a vent as the first pair of doors opened, slid apart for her, and only then did it finally click they were oddly ornate- resembling a technological version of shoji partition doors. Kaiita steps inside the inner chamber and they slide closed behind her with a finality that made her neck break into goosebumps. “I’m detecting an increase in your heartrate Kaiita-sama, please relax, everything will be just fine.” Spoke the four legged companion in her arms. Ever since the Konnosuke arrived, he hadn’t left her side; they patiently acted as a companion and part time stuffed animal with complimentary warmer pads inside their body to curl up next to during the night. Now they accepted role of confidant, held secure against the girls front like a cat but giving off a sense they were anything but a simple PET. “ I-…right, you’re right.”
Another hissing sound reached her ears and she could sense the air moving around her. Instantly she could tell the difference- there was an aroma other than just… nothing reaching her nose. Over time in a perfectly sterile room smells like that which came off her food, and the soaps she was provided for cleansing, were much more pronounced. But unlike those, this hit her like a wave- and she knew EXACTLY what it was. “..sakura?” she uttered the word and a picture of what they were came to mind- but why would she smell something like that? “Ah yes- it is spring after all! We are on the 2nd floor and this wing is close to the open balcony of the building. Come come-! Let’s go see them Kaiita-sama! I’m sure they will lift your spirits.”
The second doors cracked open and more air flooded in, gliding over her skin, informing her that outside it was much warmer. Standing before her as she exited, were 2 people who she could confirm now were doctors due to their name tags, someone who looked like a secretary or manager- basically they wore a suit and beside them was-
“Hajimemashite- Kaiita-san, watashi wa Keiko desu, mata aete ureshii.” < It’s a pleasure to meet you Kaiita-san, I’m Keiko, I’m happy to see you again.> The translation of what Keiko spoke appeared on a clear tablet plate she was holding and spoke it verbally as well in her own voice. “Amazing…” she breathed, watching as it translated even her reaction back to the woman … making the miko laugh.
Yes, a miko, at least she appeared to be.
Kaiita could recognize the crimson hakama, the clean white haori, and even the patterned outer coat or robe that was tied from shoulder to shoulder in a red cord. “I mean- it’s good to see you face to face Keiko-san, “ she continued, unable to stop herself from analyzing the woman’s attire. This didn’t go unnoticed and Keiko smiled almost knowingly. <Unless your companion has already explained, I am not just a miko, as you will come to understand, I am a saniwa as well. There will be much more to explain but first, tell me- how do you feel?> While she hadn’t had much time to get to know this woman very well, up close Kaiita could get a sense now that this woman was somehow…’ bigger’ than she really looked. Somehow her presence didn’t match the petite figure and demure face. It was like something other than her body heat was pressing up against Kaiita and it make her fidget in place- unable to do anything about it. “I feel good.” She replied, “ It’s nice and warm out here. It smells good too, Konnosuke said there are sakura outside?” <Ah! Yes, I suppose you can smell them couldn’t you, come with me and I’ll show you to the balcony. However, I must ask you to prepare yourself, while I’m sure you’ve never seen Japan before… this is more than just simple city. > Ah- yes, this was the distant future right? She almost forgot- what? Were their flying ships or space stations in the sky? Kaiita wondered this and more as she followed behind Keiko who walked with a soft sound of a bell in her step. The doctors meanwhile were following, along with that person in a suit. They were talking amongst themselves as they passed little batons and tapped various menus and devices on their own tablet screens. Out of the corner of her eye Kaiita could think she saw an MRI scan of herself, with various other similar charts that overlapped different parts of her body. What stuck out also was an odd fluctuating image of her body that almost reminded her of one of those new age color spectrum maps of the human aura.
The hall didn’t go for very long, and she noticed a few other rooms of similar fashion to her own but all were empty it seemed. They took a right and the hall became a windowed view, and that’s when Kaiitas breath did catch her throat.
Keiko touched a section of the window and suddenly it parted- after forming edges seemingly out of nowhere! They too slid aside from one another like a shoji door and Kaiita followed her outside onto the balcony. There was the city below them, and from this edge she could see their building was done up in a style resembling a castle- but it was far more complex with several other towering sections with the same ornate tiered roofs. Below a rather modern city sprawled out before her, and it wouldn’t have been so impressive than any other metropolis in the 21th century had it not been for the small details. Many sky trains rode back and forth on tracks that seemed to hover in the air. Cars looked more or less the same if more a bit more stylized, and then she could see projected signs from the second floor on the street across from their building. They changed and animated on their own! Thankfully it wasn’t too overdone- like some sci-fi vegas- but the city gave off a far more automated look than anything she could think of.
This was okay, it wasn’t too startling for her at all, but it DID hammer in the idea she wasn’t in her own era any longer. Thankfully the future didn’t look too alien that Kaiita couldn’t handle it- for now. Coming closer to the edge of the balcony she could see a heavy tree line of blooming sakura illuminated by floating lanterns. They were attached to nothing, they just hung in mid air with no strings and probably no flame inside. Yet they glowed and flickered with a light unlike any bulb she’d seen. The breeze blew a waft of their flowers perfume up to her and she visibly sighed.
< What do you think?> Keiko was looking at her, and Kaiita thought it over a moment before answering.
“…its…different, but not too much. I think if I saw space ships I might have freaked out. “ < Oh they exist, just… they are out in space- like satellites would be. And they are certainly not for commercial use.> “Oh…” all the girl could do was blink at the senior saniwa, who proceeded to giggle in amusement. At least someone was finding this funny. Still Keiko was sympathetic, and she reached out to pat Kaiita’s shoulder- albeit..hesitantly, seeing if she was relaxed enough. Kaiita didn’t resist and in that moment of non-verbal consent Keiko smiled more warmly at her. < I understand you’re being very brave right now. There may come a time soon when you may feel overwhelmed, and I would advise you to not bottle that up. Be open as much as you can, it will make your adjustments easier if you can face those emotions directly. For now, you needn’t be too concerned about acclimatizing to an alien world- not where you are going.> This was... comforting but odd, what did Keiko mean by that last part? She conveyed her curiosity with a raised brow at the tiny creature still held in her arms.
“What Keiko-san means is you will be leaving this building and being sent somewhere else. Somewhere… a ‘bit more your pace.’ The arrangements are being made, as it appears the doctors have approved you are ready for transfer.” Konnosuke’s response drew the girl’s attention back to the doctors who indeed seemed to look approving of her and were singing off something with a stylus and mailing it digitally before handing it to the person in a suit. “Where am I being taken now?” she asked Keiko who had followed her line of sight. Before the woman replied she spoke something to the two doctors who would nod and then bow to her before leaving them alone on the balcony. The person in the suit followed as well, but not before looking back once more at Kaiita as they door closed behind them. Keiko turned to her and nods, < Kaiita-san, after the head bureau signs off on your bill of health, you will be assigned a Citadel.>
“A citadel?” Was she hearing this right? “Like-… as in- a citadel, citadel? A big- place? Like castle or-“ Maybe the translation wasn’t working, surely they meant maybe a little apartment or a place to stay. As if reading her mind the Konnosuke nods to confirm there was no mistake. “A citadel is assigned to every participating member of the E.S.C. It acts as their home base and place of residence. The size is expected as well in your line of work, as you will come to understand.”
“So… I’m going to move into a town?”
“Not exactly, it’s rather a large property of land with various specific buildings which come standard to every saniwa’s needs. Each citadel is very special, and will be under your complete control.” The fox continued, tail beginning to swish with excitement, “After all, as Master of the house, it will become your home.” <Konnosuke can explain more, but first, how about we get you something to eat? Outside maybe? There is a nice shop across the street.> Keiko suggested pointing to something with an animated sign that had a kettle pouring something into a cup. A Café? Despite all the heaviness and gravitas of what was just dumped on her, distracting herself with a familiar concept was a welcome idea. All Kaiita could do was nod, and allow Keiko to lead her away and down stairs.
Master of a Citadel? Yeah she could use a coffee right now, surely she was dreaming.

First Kisses: Higekiri, Hizamaru, Kogitsunemaru
FORCING MYSELF TO WRITE? YEAAAAAH LET’S GOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Dedicated to @10cm, Leah, @blossom-cherry and my rp partner on discord. First kisses are GOOD
Warnings: nOTHING BUT CUTENESSS, I NEED THESE
Higekiri
Knowing Higekiri, even if you two are not dating, this kiss is gonna pop outta nowhere. Hige does like keeping you on your toes after all...for...better or for worse.
One of his favorite things to do is to watch you. Not in a creepy way, but whenever he’s assigned as your attendant for the day, he’s in your office and he just...enjoys looking at you. You’re a sight for sore eyes and honestly, he cannot deny these budding feelings he has for you. Besides, it’s the little things. The way your face contorts cutely (at least in his eyes) whenever you work on something difficult, how your fingers move, so on and so forth!
And then he...just....kisses you. Like he makes you look at him first but bam. He notices how stressed you look and he doesn’t want that on you! Kiss happens. It’s a quick peck on the lips and when he parts, a smirk dances upon his lips.
“There, now that’s the master that I know and love.”
SANIWA.EXE HAS BROKE. PLS CALL CUSTOMER SUPPORT. ARE THEY GONE? BUSY? YOU’RE ON HOLD FOR AN INDEFINITE TIME, S I R
When you finally come back from heaven (or hell, idk where we’re going) you are met with the most sly of smirks from the blonde man. “Did you like it~?”
Asshole. How fucking dare he. You weren’t ready! Neither was your heart! Your poor heart!
“Your lips are soft, master.” chuckles out the blonde, a dangerous sort of glint in his eyes.
So then you pull him into a kiss, grabbing him by the collar of his shirt and giving him a TASTE OF HIS OWN DAMN MEDICINE
When you two part, the kiss passionate and tongues toying with one another, there is a stripe of saliva connecting you two. His pale cheeks flushed, breathing heavy, eyes blown. “Mmm, do you truly want more? You might regret it~”
Hizamaru
This kiss won’t happen until you two are dating. Especially not in public either. Lord help him if Higekiri or anyone else sees. His poor heart, dead, it gave out. Bye bye.
Hizamaru may act all prim and proper than his brother, but perhaps a little bit is rubbing off on him? Oh no. He has thought about it many times, maybe tried to plan it? If he could....at least.
He won’t lie and say that he hasn’t thought about kissing you many times on this first date, his hand holding yours and walking through the streets. It’s almost a little too crowded for his tastes, he wanted to find a place where you two could just...exist.
So when you two stop by a park, on a bench, feeding birds with seed or something, Hizamaru would always be found staring over at your lips.
How would they feel against his? Would they feel nice? how thE FUCK DO PEOPLE KISS? DO THEY JUST ASK? ASKING IS GOOD RIGHT????
Panic mode engaged, he don’t notice that you noticed the fact that he was staring at your lips with this red as fuck face. How cuteeee.
When you call him out on it, it’s only then does he break out of his thoughts, his stutters and face oh so red. He begins to make excuses, apologizing over and over again for thinking such...indecent thoughts. Not as indecent as like naughty or anything but whoooo boi, his heart cannot handle this.
“M-May I kiss you?” he blurts out after seventy apologies in a row. He stares down at his hands, avoiding your eyes. “I-I-If it’s okay.”
You nod, and you two meet halfway for this kiss.
It’s awkward, teeth clacking against each other, and no one is sure where to put their hands, but when you part HIzamaru’s blush does not fuCKING LEAVE. It’s sweet and soft and satisfying to see him like that. Hizamaru gulps down his nerves, unsure of how to proceed. But he loves that feeling, that intimate sensation of being connected. So when he turns back to you, he whispers, “May...may we kiss again?” and he’s determined to do better!
Kogitsunemaru
Like Higekiri, it is most likely that his kiss will come out of nowhere. But, it will be after you two have officially started dating...most likely. There is a chance he may randomly kiss you outside of a relationship but he had his morals. He won’t do that in public, and certainly not around Mikazuki. Hell no.
This kiss happens sweet and soft, during a lax day with warm weather. He asks you to brush his hair again, holding the comb you gifted him some time ago. “Dearest master, will you comb me again?” he questions to you, and of course you do!
His head in your lap, your fingers in his hair, letting the teeth of the comb gently graze his scalp, not at all harmful but welcome; an itch needed to be scratched. You swear, he’s always content but he looks even more at peace now.
Maybe it’s because you two are dating? You two are able to show your love out in the open like this? Where everyone knows that you are his and his alone? Ah, he could spend forever like this!
But honestly, you two are comfortable like this. And your eyes cannot help but wander down to his lips, his curled into a such a sweet and relaxed smile, his eyes closed shut. Maybe he’s falling asleep???
So then you just kiss him. You just fucking bend down, a kiss to his cheek, you think he’s asleep. He won’t notice!
And then he turns his head and your lips connect.
KOGITSUNEMARU: 1. SANIWA: 0
“Ah, did you want to kiss me?” Kotsitunemaru knows that you wanted to kiss him, he may have his eyes closed, but he’s a smart man. He pulls you back down for a proper one.
It’s gentle, yet hungry. Perhaps lustful? Maybe in a sexual way, maybe more so in an intimate way. Kogitsunemaru adores existing in the same space with you, and when you two part, he smirks, having held your head to keep you there. “You do know what you are getting yourself into, right, dearest?

This is more effort than it’s worth.
Chasing a body double halfway across the city is not how he’d prefer to be spending his day, but as tiring as it was, he didn’t really want to die, you know? He very much enjoyed living as lazily as possible, not to mention he’d never hear the end of it from the others....
And, well...there’s some people he just can’t leave behind, so slacking is unfortunately not an option.
( it never seems like it’s an option in the first place, must to his chagrin )
Their lives may be different, as well as their histories, their blood, but they are both Akashi Kuniyuki at their core. The dot moves fast as he does, like some sort of sick chase scene from one of those weird ‘cartoons’ that he sees on the TVs in store windows as he goes about his day. The blinking dot is almost seared into his retinas as he darts about the street, avoiding confused bystanders and other scuffles along the way, the unpleasant thought of a slow-acting poison seeping through his veins the longer he waits propelling him forward.
There’s a thin sheen of sweat covering his skin by the time it finally starts to slow down; and he should hope so, considering he’s had a wild goose chase all the way throughout this entire damn place. Around and around they had gone, he’s surprised the other hadn’t darted into one of the newfound areas that he’s only managed to hear about in passing. Through one ward, then two and three, a hand swipes across his forehead and brushes away sweat-soaked strands as he brings up his phone to check to see if his progress has slowed any since the last time he checked.
He’s stopped.
At the edge of Cotes, skirting Golden, the blinking dot sits unmoving, as if taunting him. He doubts someone like himself would think of something truly unpleasant, but despite what he claims, Akashi has seen enough battlefields to know he shouldn’t let his guard down as he pockets the device and breaks into another unrelenting sprint. With luck, knowing himself, that dot won’t be moving for at least a while. And a while is just what he needs.
Man, though...his legs are really gonna hate him for this after this, but what can you do?
The slight burn has reached his lungs by the time he steps foot on the sand. The slight give beneath his feet is a welcome sensation compared to concrete and asphalt, and bright eyes glint in the slight glow on the moon as he slowly makes his way forward. He’s searching, seeking, for the one person he could never mistake for another. The face he sees whenever he passes a storefront, whenever he looks in the mirror in the morning.
Akashi Kuniyuki finds himself sprawled out on the beach, the waves gently lapping at his feet and a tired gaze staring up at the stars.
From beyond the coast, a slight glow stirs beneath the waves.
“Aaaah...you caught me, huh. Guess that’s that.”
It’s odd, he’ll admit. Hearing your own voice address you? Yeesh. Still, the other body doesn’t move, closing his eyes as Akashi hones in on the matching sheen of sweat that seems to coat his face ( is it from the running? or is it from the disease that ravages him from the inside out, slowly corroding his brain, robbing him of reasoning? ), and takes a moment to consider his options.
He sits. Right beside the splayed out body double, who’s loose t-shirt seems too cold for the chilly night air that seems to seep through the skin and chill the bones.
There’s silence for a moment, the only sound being the water and the slightest noises of the cityscape. He’s not really a negotiator, to be honest, but at least this guy seems to be agreeable. A hand gently scratches at dark wavy locks, the only action he allows himself before heaving a sigh.
“Man~, when I talked about wanting a vacation, I can’t say this was what I had in mind....”
“...You, too? Hm, seems we both got it hard.”
“You could say that again.” This would almost be relaxing, if one of two Akashi Kuniyukis wasn’t a ticking time bomb that will bring them both down in only a matter of time.
“...Listen, there’s no hard feelings here, yeah? It’s not like I’ve got anything against you, but — “
“ — But you’ve got something you want to protect too, right.”
He wasn’t anticipating being cut off, and it draws his gaze back to the other’s prone form. One hand has pressed against his head, the look in mirrored green eyes...tense. The memories that intermingle with his own tell him what it is, and with an exasperated sigh Akashi returns to staring out over the water.
“You know, they seem like good kids.”
They are good kids. They’re great kids. They’re his kids, and no matter how many times they fling him around and scold him for his laziness, he wouldn’t trade them for anything else in the world. He doesn’t let things get to him usually, but after so long, he’s actually started to miss the childish pouts and complaining that would occur whenever he’d ruffle their hair, or state how he didn’t feel like doing anything.
Hotarumaru, Aizen — they waited so long. Amidst the pushing and shoving and small legs kicking him in the middle of the night, they were content together. And he can see it’s the same with this mirror image. His memories are hazy, blurred at the edges, just like the other’s, but despite the downs there’s the ups as well. No matter how much he’d complain about having to do all the work to support his brother, he still cared about him. Why else would he go through the effort in the first place?
Geez...now he’s getting sentimental.
His phone feels heavy in his grip, like a weighted stone, or one of the baubles Aizen tends to slip into his pockets before he leaves on a sortie. The night is young, but their time is limited — they both know it. Akashi pretends not to notice as he fiddles with the device for a second, only pausing once a voice pierces the silence.
“I’m not gonna hold a grudge or anything, if that’s what you’re wondering. I’m more than willing to get out of here and relax some more.”
“That so? Glad to hear it. Can’t say I’m really interested in having any bad blood with myself, if that makes sense.”
The brightness of the app splashes across his face and casts shadows, a sight that knits the normal Akashi’s eyes together as he tries to push away the sudden apprehension. It’s fine, he’s not thinking straight. Can’t blame the guy, even if he is him, for being nervous.
“...Sorry to ask, but....can you do me a favor?”
“Mmm?” The phone halts mid-air, and a thumb hovers over the button as the other sits up straight to stare into his eyes with a sharpness that rivals his own. It doesn’t take long for it to click, for the chipped remnants of a history that isn’t his own to give him a hint. The familiar blond face comes to mind, and slots the answer in place like the last piece of a jigsaw puzzle. There’s a heave of the chest, and with a shrug of the shoulders, the tachi clicks his tongue.
“Well...can’t be helped, can’t be helped. Guess if it’s a personal request, there’s nothing to do about it. Right, consider it done...then I’ll luckily get to sleep for a week.”
The silence takes over again, but that’s not to say he doesn’t get an answer. In the last moments before a bright flash of light fills his vision, he catches a glimpse of a small smile.
Wherever he’s going, the sword can only hope it’s a better place than this.
And then he’s alone, a lone soul with only the moon for company.
Akashi releases the breath he didn’t know he was holding, flopping backwards with his phone landing idly in the sand beside his fingers. How funny, he looks exactly like how the other had when he’d first stepped foot onto the shore. Probably feels just as tired, too.
Really, he came such a long way. So, even if it’s in a place like this, it’s fine. He worked hard, and even if the Saniwa weren’t here to tell him so, he knows he deserves a reward for his efforts.
With one last final thought to a life that wasn’t his, he lets his eyes close.
Just for a while.

Send me two muses and a one-word prompt and I’ll set a timer and write a drabble in exactly approximately five minutes.
Birthday cakes, Yagen Toushirou decides, are a curse.
Five seconds after the candle lighter drops and sets a portion of the tatami on fire, his first reaction isn’t to put out the flames, but grab Ichinii and get out of the darkened room as fast as he can. It’s easy enough to latch onto the gloved palm and pull the taller sword after him–behind him, he can hear Nakigitsune’s fox already making a fuss while some of the other swords work to douse the flames–but soon the scent of smoke and fire fade, to be replaced by the cool evening air of autumn outside their citadel.
‘Are you alright, Ichinii?’ he asks with a squeeze of his hand.
‘Ahnnn..?’ the drawl that comes from somewhere above him is decidedly not the tone of an imperial treasure sword.
Yagen pauses. First he looks at their hands–two gloves, yes, but both in black. The other one doesn’t even cover its owner’s fingertips. Then he follows the stranger’s arm up past a pale arm and black sleeve to a head of tousled hair. A single pair of glasses glint briefly in the evening light before dual-hued irises lock with his own.
‘Aren’t tantou supposed to be better at seeing in the dark?’
Yagen lets go of Akashi Kuniyuki and takes a step back. He’s already halfway across the gardens when the tachi’s lazy drawl reaches his ears.
‘It’s fine. Your brother left to find some plates before they lit the candles.’
He stops long enough to manage a stiff nod. ‘Alright.’ He starts walking again when–
‘If you don’t guide me back, I’ll just take a nap here~’
Which wouldn’t do, because this was the Saniwa’s birthday and they wanted all the swords there. Centuries of ingrained duty has the tantou doubling back to the tachi again, because he would be the kind to make good on his words.
‘Come on,’ Yagen urges. When Akashi only blinks at him with an easy grin, he grabs the man’s hand and start dragging him back. And if his grip suddenly slackens after they come upon the glowing birthday candles one more time, neither of them says a word.
Maybe he does appreciate the fact that Akashi is the one to squeeze his hand this time. Just a bit.

i've read reviews on toumyu 4 and now i am so fixated on understanding mikazuki. lol from what i can say from all the reviews i read is : he is trying to carry all darkness for the sake of saniwa & his comrades? what do you think? XD i'm sorry if it doesn't fit what you think of him but we really want to hear what you can say about him. ^^ Thank youuuuuu~
SPOILER ALERT!
DON’T READ THE QUESTION EVEN!
DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO BE SPOILED!
I’ll gladly give you my opinion on the matter.
I would say they most definitely added a new layer to Mikazuki personality. In Atsukashiyama we couldn’t make sense of Mikazuki half of the time too, but he was mostly portrayed as a bit of a goofball. He had his serious moments, but no darkness. Whereas this time, the side we don’t see and don’t understand about him is in fact a lot darker than we’ve seen before, or at least, we’re given that impression. (While watching the musical, I couldn’t help but feel that Mario’s Mikazuki actually got a step closer to the way Suzuki Hiroki portrays Mikazuki in the stage play.)
The way the story is set up, Mikazuki’s intentions are unclear. The audience basically knows as much as Kogitsunemaru knows. Well, the audience knows a little bit more, since we are aware that Higekiri has some sort of memories regarding Mikazuki’s actions and he mention something along the lines of: “It’s fine, don’t worry about it.” when Hizamaru (I think) voiced his doubts about Mikazuki’s intentions. Yet, the whole story pushes us to believe Mikazuki actually betrayed the team and is trying to alter history.
Halfway through the musical we have a scene were Kogitsunemaru inquires after Mikazuki’s intentions, but receives no real answer. From this conversation we gather Kogitsunemaru suspects that Mikazuki is betraying them and he thereupon warns Mikazuki to stop what he’s doing. In return Mikazuki asks: “What will you do if I don’t?”, Kogitsunemaru answers: “I’ll kill you, obviously.” Near the end of the musical that Kogitsunemaru discovers that Mikazuki indeed involved himself in the timeline and seemingly threatened Yoritomo he should kill Yoshitsune. Kogitsunemaru gets super angry about this and decides to make good on the promise to kill Mikazuki. *fight scene* Higekiri interrupts this fights eventually and starts clearing up the situation (by pretending to be Mikazuki)
At this moment we’re indeed told that Mikazuki in fact decided to basically play the bad guy to keep the saniwa and his comrades getting hurt. (Basically like Ishikirimaru did in Mihotose.) Mikazuki decided to take on all the unpleasantness and basically force history in the way it should go. He decided he wouldn’t give the History Revisionist a chance to alter anything. He just walked straight up to Yoritomo and told him what had had to happen. He did all this without consulting the saniwa or his comrades, he tried to protect them from the pain that could follow from all this.
If I had to describe Mikazuki’s personality, I’d say he’s a incredibly warmhearted grandfather. He’s trying to look out for everyone (all his grandchildren…) and will gladly sacrifice himself or make questionable choices if it’s to keep any harm away from them. Moreover, Mikazuki tries to protect everyone in such a way, that they never even knew they were in danger. He doesn’t want credit, nor does he want permission. To keep those precious to him safe, he’ll do whatever it takes. I’d say Mikazuki is ready to commit a murder if needed. (Kogitsunemaru doesn’t quite agree with this method, but like any of us, we can’t say it’s entirely wrong what he’s doing. After all, all Mikazuki wants is to keep everyone safe. He doesn’t want to share the burden, he’ll carry it all by himself.)
In the musical they (I think Higekiri) raises the question: “When a part of the moon doesn’t reflect light, does it mean it’s not there?”. The answer to this question turns out to be: “Even if it doesn’t reflect light, it’s still there.” So, even though Mikazuki’s methods may be questionable and he may be moving around the shadows, it doesn’t mean he’s not there looking out for everyone.
Um, that’s a long rant and I wonder how helpful it is, or if it even answers the question you asked, but… It’s all I have for now. If you have any other questions or need clarification on anything I said, please let me know!

Hi there! Don't know if I made this request somewhere (this was sitting on my phone for a long time so I don't know if sent this to someone yet) but here goes: May I request a scenario/ hcs on he following swords: Yasu, Shoku, Yamanbagiri, Kara-bou, and a sword of your choice walking in on their female saniwa changing clothes and accidentally sees a scar on her back that she got a long time ago when she's still a starter saniwa??
Long time no see everyone. As you have heard we have a few Mods joining us in running this blog! This will not only help us in running this blog much more smoothly (If only school, work and my credit card was easier to manage).
Please treat them kindly as you have treated me when I started!
-Mod Catharia.
P.S. My job interview went well and hopefully I’ll hear from them in the next few days. If I actually do get the job, I can be looking at possibly getting a place of my own or a even a car!
YAMATONOKAMI YASUSADA
The Uchigatana had been assigned to cleaning duties and he was tasked in cleaning the inner areas which consisted of the Saniwa’s bedroom as well as the study
The pony-tailed warrior was carrying a feather duster as well as a small hand-held contraption called a vacuum cleaner
He had been so impressed with the cleaning machine that he would call dibs on it whenever he had been assigned to clean
At some point he had commented that the vacuum cleaner would become his new partner (during cleaning, of course, because it’s a bit more reliable than a certain brunette warrior who would rather do his nails)
Anyway, the said warrior had begun to work on the cleaning up your bedroom…which was easier said than done. You were not a messy person per say but sometimes…you tended to start hoarding a few things…
like some knickknacks you found in the weekly night market
a few extra linens that you had thought to be ‘cute’ but never used
a stack of books that you never got around to reading stacked ominously over your desk
A small sigh escaped from the blue-haired Uchigatana as he holds unto his trusty vacuum cleaner before getting to work
Halfway through his task, the sword got a little tired of cleaning up and decided to take a short rest
And by resting, I mean going through some of your things and playing around
LOL Yaasusada trying on your scarves and sunglasses in front of the mirror imitating Kashuu is such a cute picture
The sword stiffened when his ears picked up a pair of footsteps hurrying down the enegawa leading to your room
Without thinking, the young man quickly slipped into the closet–still wearing your scarf and sunglasses which was perched on the top of his head–where your futon was stored, leaving a very small crank for light
Why he didn’t let the person coming in know that he was in there was pretty obvious: He looked absolutely ridiculous dressed like this–Kashuu would never let him live it down if he got caught–and he went through your stuff without permission
The Uchigatana remained in the dark closet for a few more seconds, listening to the rustling of clothes in the room before it became silent once more
Th young mn decided to peek through the small opening and threw his head back, almost banging it against the wall in shock
The sword tugged at the scarf around his neck as he covered his mouth to keep from making any sounds, totally caught off guard at the scene
…
You had originally left that morning with Mutsunokami and Hachisuka to go into the nearby village to check on the villagers who had been complaining about the irrigation problems in the fields
You had helped in planting a few stalks and accidentally fallen into the muddy fields–much to Hachisuka’s disapproval–and in the process gotten yourself quite dirty
When you returned home the purple-hired warrior directed more like bossed you to go and change out of your clothes
…So here you were…Changing in the privacy of your bedroom, totally unaware
A heads up would have been nice, Saniwa…
What totally caught him off guard was the fact that you had started stripping down and sat in front of your vanity without covering yourself
S C A n d A L o u S
The raven-haired blade tried to keep his eyes off you but eventually noticed the deep scars marring your small back and instead inched closer to the door, curious as to how you got them…
…When he accidentally kicked the door and the sunglasses perched on his head almost fell unto the floor
The clatter scared you making you grab the closest fabric to cover yourself with, eyes darting all over the room
You finally noticed the slightly ajar closet and walked over, wrecking the door open
“H-Hello, Aruji…” You are then met with the Uchigatana’s weak smile and a small sheepish wave
“What are you doing inside my futon closet?”
“Um…Cleaning?”
“Ah, Would you mind helping with my clothes first?” You tug at the Uchigatana’s sleeve gently, motioning him to get out the closet before you walk over to the divider to grab your robes
“I did not even realize you were in my room…” You spoke before doing a double take. “Are those my sunglasses?”
“Ahh…I’m sorry!” The sword tried to slip off the glasses while you laughed amusedly
“It’s fine! Keep it on!” You smile faintly as you handed your companion with your clothes. “I guess it will help protecting your eyes from the dust.”
The sword immediately aided you in putting on your robes, making sure not to stare too long at your marred back…and you noticed
“I was not following orders during a mission…resulting to my injuries.”
“…Does it still hurt, Aruji?”
“No…Not as much as in the past.” You allow the warrior to tuck in your obi and finally allow you check your reflection in the nearby mirror. “What’s wrong?”
“I’m sorry. I’m just worried, Aruji.” The concerned sword merely tugged at your sleeves gently. “The thought of you injured is unfathmoable.”
The sound of clothes rustling filled the silence between the two of you until you feel the gentle pat on your shoulder
“All done, Aruji.”
“Ah, thank you.” You turn your head and reach for the Uchigatana’s to keep him from moving away. “Yasu…I know you’re still worried but I can assure you that everything is fine.
You watch the expression on the young man’s face as he nodded slowly and you moved closer to give him a brief hug and squeeze
“Nothing bad will happen…Everyone is doing their best to protect each other, I have full faith in all of you.”
You feel the Uchigatana return the hug and you received a squeeze as well, indicating that he believes in your words
SHOKUDAIKIRI MITSUTADA
The Tachi had been passing by that morning in your room while holding unto a tray of breakfast
What are you having fro breakfast you ask??
A western-styled breakfast which included sausages, eggs, toast, a side salad, a side of jam and black coffee
Seriously…Are you really a Saniwa…Or are you a Princess…??
The one-eyed warrior had knocked a few times and usually you would have already answered and told anyone to come in
Being the curious man that he is, he entered your room and noticed the unmade futon that was still on the floor
He finally placed your breakfast on your desk and looked around the room
It was only when he noticed that there was someone behind the byobu and the sound of the drawers being frantically opened was enough to arouse some suspicion
There had been instances that enemy Saniwas had been sending familiars to try and infiltrate the Citadel but it never reached the inner area
Shokudaikiri was not very sure that it was an intruder…but who else would try to go through your drawers…??
…Unless, it was a fellow perverted deviant curious Touken Danshi then he would beat the living sh*t lightly scold them with his sword
Slowly inching towards the screen he crouched and summoned his sword before peeking behind the divider
But what greeted him totally caught him off guard and caused a an insane blush to spread like wild fire across his face
A-Aruji!?!?! He would shriek internally after seeing you slowly disrobe
His golden eye followed your yukata as more of your skin begun to appear right in front of him
Low-key licked his lips as he watched…The pervert!!
It was only then he noticed the rather large scar on your back when he narrowed his eyes
He never remembered you being hurt and a scar that big would mean that the wound must have been quite painful
“Are you enjoying the show, Shokudaikiri?” Your voice caught him off guard almost making him fall on his backside.
“W-Wha–!! It’s not what you think, Aruji!” The raven-haired Tachi began but could not form a sentence, being too flustered.
“I never considered you to be a peeper…” You drape your yukata around your shoulders, turning your head ever so slightly
If you thought Mitsutada’s eyes couldn’t become any larger, you’re dead wrong—It’s literally the size of saucers at this point
RIP Mitsutada Shokudaikiri…You’re going to be dismantled at this point because of your wandering eyes…
“It’s alright. There isn’t much to look at.” You interrupted as you turn away. “I’m not as pretty compared to other Saniwas.”
“That’s not true, Aruji.” The warrior shook his head as he got up from his spot, putting his sword away and giving you a smile. “May I?”
A small exasperated smile escaped from you before you lowered your yukata once more, allowing the taller individual to see the rather large scar that covered your midsection to your shoulder.
“Go ahead.”
You almost flinched when cold hands came in contact with your back and relaxed when you felt his fingers trail the scar.
“You’re still beautiful…Aruji.” Now it was your turn to blush as the Tachi drapped your kimono over your shoulders as if trying to protect you from the cold. “This scar only adds to your charm…”
You can’t tell me otherwise that this man is not a gentleman!!
“And what is my charm?” You tighten the hold around your kimono as Shokudaikiri patted your shoulders in an encouraging manner.
“You’re definitely much braver than other Saniwas…” The taller man smiled amusedly. before whispering “…Although a little more troublesome.”
THE TEASE!!!!
With that you burst into laughter before turning around and hitting the one-eyed sword playfully
YAMANBAGIRI KUNIHIRO
The Uchigatana was passing by to deliver some of your folded laundry at the same time grumbling that it was a task that a copy like him shouldn’t be doing in the first place
Apparently, the blonde keeps on claiming that he did not share a close relationship with you
Even when he was your starter sword…
Sooo….All those nights you guys spent playing Shogi while having deep meaningful conversations about the Pros and Cons about having a small petting zoo on the property was for naught…
Wow…W O W, Manba-chan…So COLD
Anyway, the cloaked figure had knock a few times to indicate that he was dropping off some of your linens
He finally peeked inside when there was no answer and stepped in your room
Yamanbagiri was just about to drop off your basket of linens when he noticed that your futon was still on the floor, with the blankets in disarray
He immediately turns his gaze away intent in just leaving your clothing to the side–reasoning that he was not entitled to follow after your messes
He’s a a Token Danshi…not a Maid…
But the memory of you rushing to get to your office this morning to finish a few documents that needed to be sent that morning came flooding in
With a sigh, the blonde walked over to start fixing your bed and place it into the closet
Once that was done, his gaze went over to your freshly laundered clothing and paused before reminding himself
I-I guess a duplicate has it’s uses….
Silently debating with himself, the Uchigatana finally gave in and decided to just place your clothing into their respective drawers to you won’t have to do it later on
As he was placing the last of your yukata in the drawer, he heard the doors to the room open and he froze in his place
“Ahhh…Finally.” You voice drifted into the other side of the divider.
“I will have Yagen come by later to look at your back, Aruji.”
“Thanks Ichigo. Just tell him to come in…in case, I might have fallen asleep.” Yamanbaigiri could hear a yawn leaving your lips as the Tachi of the Awataguchi clan closed the door
The blond immediately crouched down, feeling a dizzy as the prospect of you finding him, clutching unto your yukata hitting him like a slap on the face
He held unto the cloth tightly and held his breath as he watched your figure come closer to the screen…
For a moment, he closed his eyes as he tried to make himself look small–hopefully you have not seen him yet
It was only when he heard the closet door to where your futon had been placed being opened
“…I don’t remember putting my futon back…??”
“…” O.O!!!
“…Oh well…”
Yamanbagiri only heard you taking out the bed again and placing the blankets on the floor
You had every full intention in staying in your room after having to get up so early in the morning to finish your work and Yamanbagiri was praying to every deity that you would leave so he can sneak out as well
How is he going to get out of this situation!? He wasn’t a pervert! He was just placing your clothes into their respective places! What has he done to deserve such punishment!? Someone help-!!
His train of thought was immediately cut off when saw you walk to a closet just adjacent to where he had been hiding behind the screen
Good thing he was crouched on the floor and you could not see–Wait! Why are you taking off your clothes!?!?
The blond could feel his face burning and immediately buried it into your clothing–even his ears felt hot!
Saniwa is never like this! Even as the first sword he had never seen your bare legs–much less your back!
S C A n d A L o u S 2.0
After a few seconds-which felt like half an hour for the warrior- he finally peeked through his fingers and saw your marred back as you began to change into more comfortable clothing
He could not recall anyone or anything inflicting those injuries since he arrived…
The skin had already healed and instead raised lines criss-cossed your back haphazardly…It looked painful….as if you had been whipped
The Uchigatana had been so lost in his thoughts and did not realize that you had changed into a new yukata and turned to grab a robe to go over it when you met his astounded gaze
…
“WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN HERE!?” You squeaked as you wrapped your arms around yourself
LOL. Too late….He already saw everything…and possibly more…
“L-LAUNDRY!” The blond could only reply when you sunk unto the floor, thoughts going 100 kph. “I came by to drop off your laundry when you-you started-!!”
The both of you could feel the redness seeping into your cheeks as you avoided eye contact with each other and awkward silence descended on the two of you
“…You saw it didn’t you.”
“I-I have no idea what you mean, Aruji.” the blonde tugged at his cloak harder, to shield his face. “I didn’t see–”
“They’re pretty hard to miss…” You cut him off as you finally meet his gaze. “…My scars, I mean…It was a long time ago so don’t worry.”
“A-are you sure, Aruji?” Bright but unsure emerald eyes finally looked up to see your own calm ones
“You are the first sword of this Citadel and one of my retainers…” You manage a smile and finally a shrug. “I trust you with a few of my secrets, Yamanbagiri.”
OOKURIKARA
You found yourself standing in front of the hearth, stirring a pot of Miso soup and the same time preparing a more than a dozen Onigiri
You ask why?
It was all because there had been a severe storm last night and two of your campaigning teams had been sent out during that time
And yes, you had checked the weather report yesterday morning…You were a reliable Master most of the time
You sent out the First and Second Units respectively after seeing that the weather was absolutely fine…
So imagine your surprise when it started coming down heavily yesterday afternoon so you did a double check on the weather once more
It was only then when you realized that the weather report was dated from the same day last week when you did a face palm
After a minute of you reprimanding yourself, you eventually got up to prepare a few blankets and some tea when the units returned home
And when the boys and men did arrive, you noticed how soaked they all were to the bone and you immediately fussed over them
”Good Evening, Aruji. Wonderful weather isn’t it?” Mikazuki smiled brightly as he was literally dragging himself and using his sword as a cane because his robes had soaked so much water before sneezing into his sleeve
“A-Aruji?” Izuminokami pushed his hair aside while Horikawa helped him manage his hair--and by that I mean, holding unto it like a flower girl while the bride walked down the aisle on her wedding day
“A-Achii!” The small sneeze came from the two small figures of Midare and Akashi who shivered underneath Ichigo’s wet cloak “S-Saniwa-sama! We’re home!”
You almost threw yourself at the Tantous to give them a hug because you felt so bad
“Hurry come inside!” You holler over them, not caring if the floors were going to get wet in the process. “Here are some blankets…”
With the aid of the Samoniji Brothers, Yamatonokami and Kashuu, you were able to provide everyone with towels and some tea to warm them up
You watched worriedly as Shokudaikiri, Yagen and Horikawa wipe down their noses, seeing that they had indeed caught the cold already–you silently prayed to the Gods that everyone would not get too sick…
And that night, everyone…and I mean, everyone in the two units caught the cold and even a couple of the warriors ran a slight fever as well
Presently, here you were making some soup and tea to bring to men and boys who were confined to the large common room
After walking all the way to the sick room and opening the door, you could hear the groans and exaggerated pained moans from the men who were feeling a little better
You would definitely know if a sword was sick because they would be either out cold or dead asleep from the medication given from last night
Tsurumaru’s shadow doing a small cartwheel was enough to convince you that he was feeling a little bit better compared to some people
It was only when the the smell of miso filled the room when a few of the warriors begun to sit up–you were not really sure if they were happy to see you or rather the food
You eventually make your rounds while handing everyone some medicine then making sure to wipe them down with a cool towel–you just brush off the men’s embarrassment for the sake of making sure that they were all comfortable
How brave and forward of you Saniwa…
After everyone had settled down and were tucked in, once more you leave the common room but not before promising that you will be back to bring them dinner later on
When it became dark out, you quickly asked the assistance of a few of the Tantous to bring the soup into the sick room
As you walk down the hallway, a pair of Gokotai’s tiger cubs ran in between you legs and made you halt suddenly, trying not to step over them
In the process, Gokotai ran into your back and the tray carrying half a dozen bowls of hot soup seeped into your clothes making you yelp
“Yah!!”
“A-Ah! I’m so-so sorry Saniwa-sama!!” The little Tantou quickly apologized as you tried to steady yourself before reassuring the young boy that it was fine by patting his head gently
“Are you alright, Aruji?” The concerned voices of Shinano and Taikogane flanked you as you gave them a smile.
“I’m fine. Don’t worry.”
“I’m sorry, Aruji.” The blonde tugged at the end of his shirt weakly and you could see a few tears in the corner of his eyes.
“Don’t cry. It was just a small accident.”
You glance at the two other swords before gently motioning to the door to the sick room a few paces down
“Why don’t you hand this out to everyone, Gokotai?” You smile as you replacing his tray with your own instead before patting his shoulder. “I’ll just change into some new clothes and I’ll catch up, okay?”
You watched as the three small figures hurried to the designated room before making your way to the kitchens to get more soup
Once in the confines of the kitchen you decided to quickly take off your robe and shirt, knowing that you needed to apply some cold water on the burning area for a minute or so
It was not like anyone was going to enter the kitchen since everyone was having dinner in the Great Hall or the sick room–both areas being quite far away
You remained in your underwear while immediately soaking a small piece of cloth from one of the drawers and placed it on the reddening area on your back making you flinch
You you did a few times and did not seem to notice nor hear the doors to the kitchen opening as one of the TouDans entered
“What the hell are you doing?”
You were immediately greeted with Ookurikara standing in the doorway, carrying a tray of empty plates and bowls
“!!!” You almost screamed when you heard the low voice and immediately grabbed your discarded shirt to cover yourself up
“A warning would have been nice!” You shout while trying to fight down your embarrassment which was futile
You could feel the Uchigatana staring you down and you could not help but feel your neck and shoulders burn as you became more flustered
God, no one has even seen you in your underwear and of all people it had to be Ookurikara
“Get dressed, someone can just walk in and get the wrong impression.” You glance up and was immediately taken back when the tanned man walked closer to you, placing the tray on the side of the sink before glaring you down “I don’t intend on getting friendly. Go get changed already.”
Eeek!
You nodded and tried to put on your clothes loosely before hissing softly as the cloth rubbed the sensitive area on your back, the small sound was heard by the tanned man but he made no comment
“T-Thank you, Ookurikara.” You turn around as you were about to leave the kitchen.
“Just hurry up.”
You quickly make your way to your room while the Uchigatana filled the bowls once more with the soup and placing them on the trays before delivering them
The raven-haired sword’s thoughts drifted to the reddening area on your back but what caught his eyes the most was the beautiful cherry blossom tattoo that decorated your back
He had noticed a few large scars and no idea where you had received those wounds but it must have been painful judging from how deep the cuts were…and to get a tattoo that large to hide them??
He’s a little impressed with you but obvs won’t say anything
Ookurikara was suddenly taken out of his thoughts when he heard the voices of Tsurumaru from the opened door of the sick room
“Well, this if this isn’t a disappointing surprise..” The Crane sighed faintly at his fellow Dategumi before peeking from behind the wooden door. “I thought Aruji was coming…”
“She’s coming.” The raven-haired Uchigatana merely handed the platinum-haired sword the tray of food before walking away. “I’m going now.”
He wasn’t one for socializing anyway but he was 0.79% concerned about your burn but knows you’re a big girl adult who can handle it…
KOGARASUMARU
I made a slight change to this scenario, please forgive me
It was your fifth anniversary as the master of the Touken Danshi and you had invited a few fellow Saniwas over for a day of celebrations
The day had started in a more tame manner–having to perform a few formal ceremonies and rites
At some point, you almost decided to not even show up and just wear you pjs the whole day but Horikawa and a few others forced you out of bed to get changed into those heavy ceremonial clothes
But when twilight begin to near the Citadel became much more noisy with music playing fairly loud and boisterous laughter filling the air
It was during dinner time that it became much more chaotic as the portable karaoke set and drunken conversations swirled around
Of course, you were a competent Saniwa, a loyal follower to the Government, and a fair-minded subordinate with a composure rivalling Koutetsu Samoji’s…
But all those qualities literally flew out the window when in the presence of your fellow Saniwas, some fun gambling games and alcohol that Jiroutachi, Fudou and Nihongou would have a ball until they passed out
There goes the serious image that you had built up out the window
The Main Hall had been so packed by humans and swords during dinner that the party had extended all the way to the backyard which was decorated by lanterns
SO PRETTY!
A team of swords who had been assigned to the task of cooking had prepared a large feast while your group of friends had also brought more food as well
You had thanked those who had prepared the feast and had decided to serve them by piling food on their plates
“Aruji! That’s too much food!” -Hasebe
“May I have seconds!?” -Midare
“This is quite good…” -Kasen
“Delicious.” -Sayo
The party dragged on and eventually the younger swords were ushered to bed as it was getting late--much to their dismay
“Ichi-nii! I wanted to play more!” -Akita
“We can play more games tomorrow–” Ichigo
“But Aruji will be too tired!” -Houchou
“I want to play some more!” -Taikogane
“Do we really have to go to bed?” -Kenshin
“Mhm. It’s getting quite late.” - Azuki
You were given a few hugs from the smaller swords who congratulated you once more before heading off to bed
Shortly after the younger-looking swords left, the adults moved on to something different
It was only when you busted out the karaoke machine when the real fun started
You and a few female Saniwas started out with a sing along and danced around and it was on the second song that you decided to encourage your swords to parttake in the fun as well
You quickly reel in Kotegiri Gou into a famous Disney song called “A Whole New World” from Disney
You can see Kashuu and Kikkou’s eyes glaring down at your partner as you held each other’s hand while continuing to sing
After quickly finishing the song, the Shinzengumi group performed a rendition of the Backstreet Boys’ “I want it that way”
It was then quickly followed by the Dategumi who performed *NSYNC’s “Bye Bye Bye”
Doudanuki even sang “I’ll make a man out of you” from Mulan with a few sword swinging demonstrations
Eventually the Genji Brothers volunteered more like Hizamaru being forced by his brother to join him, much to his embarrassment and sang their own version of “Never Gonna Give You Up” by Rick Astley
Someone Save me…Save me from my imagination that is running wild
You’re probably wondering where Hasebe is at this point to scold everyone…He’s over there by the entrance, clutching a bottle of Sake, passed out after you dared him to a drink everything
The celebration continued on and bit by bit the sword warriors began to turn in for the night, letting you enjoy yourself while dragging a few of their drunk comrades back to their own rooms
It was at 3 AM in the morning and the party was still in full-swing
Kogarasumaru, one of the nocturnal swords, passed by the common room and peeked in. The raven-haired sword sighed before passed out in a nearby table, surrounded by different sake bottles
The oldest sword merely knocked on the side to let the other masters know that he was entering, sending them a smile
“Good evening. Would you all mind if I bring my little master to bed?”
“Oh no! Not at all!”
“Go ahead take her!”
“She must have been all tuckered out from singing!”
The raven-haired Tachi merely smiled faintly as he gently carried you out of the main hall and to your private quarters
Once inside your bedroom, the raven-haired Tachi laid you down on your futon and began to tuck you in only to realize that you did not seem to want to let go of him
“To go as far as to hold unto this father out. Is this fate as well?”
The oldest member of your citadel gently pried of your fingers from his shoulder before getting up to gather a spare cloth, a basin of water and your yukata
He had thought that it might be uncomfortable to find yourself in such a state in the morning so wiping you down seemed like a good option
He had started with your face and moved down to your arms before gently pushing you unto your side–you know, just to make it easier to put on your new clothing and keep your modesty
It was only when he had taken off one sleeve when he noticed the deep scars that etched your smooth skin when his mind wandered for a bit
Was it something from a fight or perhaps an accident? He had never seen the marks from before…Surely, if you had gotten hurt, the other warriors would have protected you without a second thought…
Kogarasumaru’s eyes narrowed ever so slightly, a sign of his irritation. He was not one to get irked but the idea of his master being subject to pain and not being protected made him a bit angry
With a shake of his head, the Crow merely discarded any negative thoughts and instead brought the covers of your futon to your chin before gently patting you down
“Mhnn…” You stir ever so slightly and the older man merely reached over to pat you comfortably and you fall back asleep
“There there…Father is here.” Kogarasumaru smiled amusedly and leaned down to place a light kiss over you forehead before getting up and moving away
“Well then, I’ll be off. Good night, my little Aruji.” The Tachi closed the door behind him quietly
Unknowingly, a happy smile seemed to be etched on your face as the sword made his way back to his own room

Hi yagen :
Ah, apologies for seeing this so late. I hope the next semester treats you better and that you learn a lot of interesting things that expand your world and lead you to new experiences. School is a lot of work, but education is a valuable tool that is worth the effort. The world is such an interesting place, and as a saniwa you never know what classes will aid you in defeating the Historical Retrograde forces. I believe in you. You have all the skill and determination necessary to succeed, regardless of the irresponsibility of your classmates.
And yes, hugs are acceptable no matter what our respective heights.

"Saniwa-sama, you look particularly cute tonight, ehe!" - from Shizukagata @citadelofroses :3
@citadelofroses
-poof-
His hair is in a bit of disarray (more than usual), he forgot to dab on powder so he wouldn't look too pale, and he was just fresh out of the bath. Not exactly presentable enough but to earn a "cute" from one of his Naginata men while Saseki still looks halfway decent (at least to the saniwa)?
At least he doesn't need to color his cheeks with how pink he had blushed.
"O-Oh! Thank you dear, I-I... I know I'm a bit on a messy side right now but that's rather sweet of you to say..."

Hi there! May I have a scenario with Tsurumaru and a fun saniwa who like to pull pranks on each other? Tsurumaru does a prank involving bugs not knowing that the saniwa has a huge fear of them so that she starts crying and the poor crane boy has to comfort her please? Also bonus if the other swords are about to kill him for make their precious saniwa cry lol. Thank you!! Have a nice day! ~
Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiinally, I got this one out! Packing has nearly concluded which means next comes the ever-important moving part of, well, moving!
…Ugh.
Anyway, enjoy this extremely belated answer, Anon~!
Mitsutada paused, his knife halfway through a tomato as a chorus of shrieks rang out from the garden. The black-haired Tachi looked to the right as his Dategumi companion stomped into the kitchen, his pale lips set in a rare scowl. Water pooled on the stone flooring as the crane slumped off his white haori, gold chains clattering about his feet.
“…Tsuru-san–”
“Mitsu-bou,” the white-clad Tachi grumbled, ringing out the ends of his hair, “Aruji needs all the towels available in the Citadel.”
The taller Tachi paused before laying his knife on the cutting board.
~
“Oh, come on, Tsuru,” you chuckled, ruffling Maeda’s hair with one of the many towels brought out into the garden, “It was just a little water.”
“I find it hard to fathom one hundred water balloons to be ‘a little water’,” the Citadel’s resident poet retorted, hanging the crane’s white clothing out to dry next to Maeda’s cape.
“Way more than a little!” Tsurumaru shouted from the engawa, now clad in his pleasantly dry leisure garb.
“Can you really blame our master, Tsuru-san?” Mitsutada inquired, tossing another damp towel to Kasen, “Her office was a mess after your last prank.”
The crane released an innocent whistle before averting his gaze, his interest captured by a tiny spider crawling through the grass. Maeda bowed to you in thanks, joining his brothers to dry off in the sun.
“We all know how this goes,” you hummed before lying back in the warm grass, your clothes slowly drying in the warmth of the afternoon sun, “He’ll throw his newest prank out and then so will I and so on and so forth. Right?”
You looked to the white-clad Tachi, your brow furrowing.
“Tsuru?”
“Huh?” the crane glanced up, blinking for a brief moment before cracking his signature grin, “Y-Yeah, of course! I’ll get you back before you know it!”
You giggled with a sigh, returning to your grass bed. Kasen shared an exasperated glance with Mitsutada, the latter shrugging with a smile.
~
“…You woke me up for this? I told you, I don’t intend to–”
“Yeah, yeah. Keep your voice down, Kara-chan.”
Tsurumaru stifled a chuckle, attaching the last piece of rope to the saniwa’s doorframe. Stepping back, he grinned at his handiwork before elbowing his Uchigatana accomplice in the arm. Ookurikara’s permanent scowl only grew.
“…Going back to bed,” he grumbled, turning his back on the Tachi.
Tsurumaru opened his mouth to protest before sighing in defeat, waving him off with a flick of his wrist.
“Whatever. I’ll just have to savor our master’s surprised expression on my own~.”
The Uchigatana rolled his eyes from down the hall, disappearing into the room he shared with his fellow Dategumi. Tsurumaru peaked down the opposite hall leading to a section of the engawa, the faint light of morning bleeding into the Citadel. The crane grinned, taking shelter behind a nearby corner.
~
You breathed in deep, snuggling further beneath your blankets. A futon was a place of sanctuary, the warmth it provided a godsend on chilly mornings such as this. The temperature outside would rise with the sun, but for now–
You sighed, shifting once more before sitting up. The urge to empty your bladder always seemed strongest first thing in the morning.
Outside, Tsurumaru’s anticipation rose as the saniwa’s door opened…only to recoil in bewilderment from the panicked scream that immediately followed. Cautiously, he peered back around the corner, his grin disappearing in its entirety.
You felt your backside hit the tatami mats, unsteady footsteps slipping on the futon. Your heart thudded frantically from within, the rest of your body tense and trembling as your eyes sat locked on the baleful sight in your doorway. That silhouette… Even in the dim light, your mind echoed ‘tarantula’.
The clatter of bare feet approached, Tsurumaru appearing in the doorway with a timid expression. His eyes widened before falling downcast, your tear-streaked face burned into his mind. Summoning his blade in a splash of sakura petals, he struck the fiend down. Its body and corresponding web fell to the floor, bits of stuffing and foam beads oozing from its corpse. Tsurumaru gripped his hilt, the footsteps of Hasebe swiftly approaching as several sleepy heads poked out from nearby rooms.
“…Aruji,” the crane murmured, “I-It was just a prank. I didn’t–”
Hasebe’s hands crashed into the Tachi, fingers seizing the front of his sleeping yukata and yanking him sidelong.
“Tsurumaru!” the Uchigatana bellowed, his violet gaze searing the Tachi’s gold, “If you’ve harmed the master, I’ll see you broken!”
“N-No, I–”
“Stop!”
Both blades paused as you stood, your breath finally calm as you wiped away the remaining tears. Ambling forward, you stared warily at the toy spider, it’s cloth body mangled and googly-eyed stare permanently offset. Glancing towards the crane, you reached down and picked up the toy, cradling it in your hands.
“I-It’s kinda…cute, right?” you murmured, stepping over the rope web, “Hasebe, help me fix him.”
The Uchigatana’s gaze softened before abruptly releasing the shaken and confused Tsurumaru from his clutches. The Tachi’s lips parted as he reached out toward you, but Hasebe intervened once more with a grunt as he pulled you to himself, motioning towards the crane’s unsheathed blade mere centimeters from your hip. Tsurumaru pulled away, sheathing his sword with a nervous chuckle.
“…I get it,” he sighed, swallowing hard, “No more pranks.”
You stared at the Tachi, his golden gaze eerily dark as the sun’s first rays entered the hall, casting the crane in a bath of light. With little resistance, you eluded Hasebe’s grasp and extended your hand, ruffling the crane’s feathery hair.
“Don’t go changing the rules, silly goose,” you hummed, holding the spider toy to your chest, “I already know what I’ll pull on you next.”
In that moment, Tsurumaru’s eyes lit up like fireworks, their golden gleam as bright as ever.
“Just…no more bugs, okay?”
“You got it! I’ll hit you with a better surprise in the future~!”
A chorus of relieved exhales sounded down the halls, murmurs of lost sleep ringing out as doors slid closed.

Halfway Saniwa (Ch.4)
Halfway Saniwa (Ch.4)
{Chapter 4: Speak Your Mind}
<Japanese>
“English”
‘thoughts’
For the following 2 weeks Kaiita was brought into contact with the outside world; the new and digitally tangible one as well as beginning her introduction courses. Firstly, her studies of the Japanese language took the forefront along with her basic introduction to the Saniwa and the Grid of Transient Time Channels. This was the system in which most of her power over her mission would be intimately integrated. It was late evening and Kaiita was sitting on the floor in a new room in a different wing of the E.S.C. HQ with a clear stylus brush hovering over a large plate on a low table. She was practicing her hiragana and katanana, when Konnosuke came padding into the room. It was one of the rare times he ever left her side- but it was important due to the fact he was clarifying something that had arrived for her. “ Here it is!” he announced with no shortage of pride in his voice, which made Kaiita look up from her work. “Hm?” “Your ID and citizenship papers.” ‘Citizenship papers?’ this irked her eye brow with a bit of concern. “But- I’m Canadian, right?” she agreed to joining their army- no one said anything about giving up her citizenship. Konnosuke shook his head and pushed the envelope he’d brought in closer to her. “Of course you are, but since around a few years before the war began, everyone became a dual citizen of the planet or United Countries Sovereign. It was a sign of the world’s unification under a common cause of restoration and collaboration. It is considered a sign of progress of this era, one of our finest achievements!“ Kaiita could only imagine what impact this had on immigration, but she had enough politics to worry about. For now she took a look at her card which slid out smoothly into her open palm along with a small folder of documentation papers. Everything seemed to be in order; it signified her as Canadian in origin and alliance, and – sure enough- a dual citizen of the UCS. It showed her sex, height, weight, skin and natural hair color-… biological age? This was actually marked down as Early 20’s but then in brackets – unspecified. ‘Perhaps they couldn’t gauge exactly how long I was frozen for?’ There was that odd shudder again. Every time she encountered something that nailed it into her that she had lost everything, it left an unsettling weight in her stomach. It scared her. In some strange way perhaps Kaiita was still in denial. She was still refusing to admit what happened- even when staring at her own picture on the glassy surface of her ID card. “Ah! You’re rather good at this.” Konnosuke commented, having crossed behind the girl and now stood with his front paws sitting on top the table. He- it- they, where looking over her hand writing. “You think so? It can use some improvement, I think my hand shakes too much and makes some of the loops too small.” She replied placing the documents down beside the sheet of scribbled words.
“ – Now you are officially in the roster of Saniwa , if you searched up your name, your basic stats will appear on a simple web browser search.” “W- what wait?! That’s public knowledge?!” she was joining the army- Not wanting to become an internet presence! “Hardly, “ Konnosuke said, holding out his paw in a gesture for her to calm down, “ It’s not what you think. Saniwa are privy to a lot more information than the common public. Your name will pop up in a basic search, but not your photograph, just a few simple details, that’s what’s available to the public, but as for specifics- if YOU- yourself looked up your name you would get a much more in-depth profile result. While other saniwa may have something in the middle- depending on what you wish to share. “ ‘I suppose that make sense’ she thought, “ If I wanted to search up allies or team mates I’d get a rough overview of a saniwa in question right?” “Exactly!” the fox confirmed.
“Now how about we do a few practice phrases- introduce yourself Kaiita-sama?” the fox situated himself across from her and Kaiita swerved around to face him with her text book on her lap. For the next 2 hours they went over basic phrases of introduction, some key situation things and words she could really use in emergencies before breaking for dinner. Japanese was a dense language, and she was having trouble remembering similar looking symbols. Kaiita only hoped with usage in real life the meanings would stick eventually. For now she could relax and eat her dinner- which was found down stairs in a cafeteria.
What Kaiita eventually came to understand was the science and research wing- where she was originally kept, this was the main center. People came and went from all branches of the government in regards to the war on the world history. She saw people dressed in various military garb and regalia- and most of all- saniwa. It was easier to pick them out in fact- what she had initially felt with Keiko was a saniwas aura. A natural barrier or space in which their presence fills a space around them. Konnosuke explained that a saniwa was a shorter word for sayaniwa which was originally what a purified site was called. Specifically it referred to a place where a deity was worshiped and its divine will was received- eventually this translated over to people who fulfilled a similar function, receiving the name of the location itself as a literal title. So like a shaman or a priest- but something a bit more intrinsically connected to ‘space’ itself. This space seemed to follow saniwa wherever they went. It was a core attribute of their powers. Kaiita wandered into the mess hall where a plethora of people milled about their business, grabbing a snack, taking a break or just passing through on their own business. What was so interesting, was the clash of old and new right before her eyes. People clearly dressed for battle, would don combinations of modern and ancient clothing! It was rather an interesting sight to see. It proved to her quickly that a saniwa could be literally- anyone! Men or women, adults and even children! CHILDREN! What sort of branch of an army hired children?!
Kaiita gawked in the middle of eating her food at a girl standing no taller than maybe 4 feet ! She short brown hair brushed over one eye in the company of a man who… had pink hair? They also wore a very ornate and flashy golden kimono. In fact all those she could tell where saniwa were rare ever alone. They have an attendant of some sort at any given time usually. Kaiita couldn’t figure out who they were exactly, for now she had a lot to memorize simply in terms of how people got around now a day. From learning basic transit, language and customs, it was a lot to take in and get straight. At the very least people were not to unforgiving to someone who just didn’t get it right away- even more so- she wasn’t the only foreigner there. Not by a long shot.
As she bit into a piece of tuna she could see a blonde across the mess hall with the ugliest jacket she’d ever seen! He followed by a much more refined individual wearing a rather artistic attire and what she could tell was purple hair. Purple hair- so many colors. At least she guessed that about the future correctly- she imagined once upon a time a future where people could look however they wished- including normally impossible shades of hair. Another thing she did notice about every single saniwa’s attendant was each carried some kind of weapon on their person. Usually this weapon was some sort of Japanese blade. In fact- she could tell the difference between the types- because Konnosuke made her memorize them. The fox told her this was also very important to her line of work- which would become clear once the first initial hurdles of her training where done.
‘One of the most important parts-‘they had said.
She must have mouthed that perhaps whilst eating for suddenly- “Hm? Did you say something Kaiita-sama?” the fox who had been eating some stuffed inari sushi- something she was surprised an synthetic organism was able to- was not looking at her. “Oh!” she put her chop sticks down a moment, sipping her tea to clear her throat. “I was actually wondering- about what you said regarding the study of swords.” She gestured to yet another saniwa who stood up across from another table, a small girl in a very flowery military attire following them with a ‘tantou’ on their hip made to follow. “Oh? You’re curious about them huh? Well worry not- your introduction to the toudan danshi is tomorrow.” They declared with an excited swish of their tail. The fox pointed with a paw, “ –every saniwa as you can observe has a person following them yes? Those armored people are called toudan danshi. They are very important, to us, and to you. You’ll see, I am quite looking forward to this myself- I am curious who will be called to your side first!” “ -called? you mean, someone is going to volunteer? One of them?” she straightened up, watching them more closely- and for a moment she could have sworn she’d seen the SAME person pass by a second time. The one with the purple hair- but the saniwa they followed was different! Did they switch charges here too? “ Tommorow, Kaiita-sama, now that you have clearance to leave since your ID has arrived-… we shall be leaving this place. But not before you learn who and what toudan danshi are.” That made her stand up in shock- “ I’m leaving?!” So soon?! Or was it? Maybe she was just becoming used to this place… when did the time creep up?
“Calm down- calm down- sit sit- everything will be fine.” Konnosuke said once again doing their best to settle her down. And how could it not work- with those adorable paws waving at her? The girl resumed her seat and waited for her partner to explain. “ I understand you perhaps are nervous, but you need to go somewhere more… home-like. As much as I’m sure you have adjusted to this place, it is both part of your training, your job, but also as another positive contribution to your health. You need to go somewhere more domestic now. Your home, your citadel awaits. It waits for you to open the door to it and take shape. It’s going to be quite the sight- I know you’ll be happy there.”
Konnosuke sounded so sure- “I’m not so sure.” Kaiita blurted out. Realizing how rude it must have sounded- she apologized. “ I mean- “ words died in her throat. How could she feel at home in such an alien place? As much as it was nice, wonderful even-..this wasn’t home. How could it ever be? It shamed her to think this way, but she was homesick. An irrational part of her felt guilty of some kind of betrayal, to simply replace her –home- with another. It was perfectly juvenile! As she mentally admonished herself the fox padded closer until they were nearly nose to nose- and Kaiita straightened up in surprise.
“….?” What did they want? Eventually the creatures face softened into an unmistakable smile.
“It is going to be okay Kaiita-sama. You will be fine. You can do this. You’re ready.” Convincing herself was one this- but hearing someone say that, with such conviction, was another. And it slammed hard in her chest- resulting in her shoulders feeling just a bit lighter.

Sick Saniwa: Sanchoumou, Minamoto Kiyomaro, Suishinshi Masahide
I do hope that this is okay for you dear~! I’m super excited to write for these two!!!!
Warnings: None.
Sanchoumou
The minute you wake up with a sneeze and fever, Sanchoumou is right there beside you. His ruby eyes would narrow, and his hand would be at your back, rubbing smooth circles into your skin. “Are you alright, my dove?” he would question.
Worry would be evident across his face as you progressively become sicker and sicker, if you happen to pass the fuck out, Sanchoumou would not hesitate to rush to your side. His heart would be beating miles a minute, almost giving out right then and there. He will practically have Nikkou and Nansen stand guard while he tends to you and calls for Yagen.
When you have a fever, Sanchoumou is not leaving your side. You wake up and he is right there, holding your hand and pressing a cool cloth to your head and a pot of tea resting on the table. “Good morning, my little bird.’ he would say, running his thumb over your cheek. “How are you feeling?”
Sanchoumou will absolutely NOT leave your side when you are sick. Oh no, this man is going to nurse you back to health all the way! Even if he has to leave for only a moment or longer like on a mission, he will have Nikkou or Nansen check up on you. The minute he gets home, he goes straight to you (after getting patched up of course, he’s not about to trek even more germs into your room when you’re already sick!)
Will learn from books and Yagen how to take care of you, often asking for advice on how to care for you.
Will read you/tell you stories to help you sleep!
Will still give you forehead kisses, no stopping this man once he set his mind to something!
Is basically that guy who will risk getting sick as well for you, no way is he going to let you suffer alone.
Damn right he will still cuddle with you while you’re sick, move over in that bed of yours. You’re going to get hugged. Sickness be damned! All of the hugs! He’s not going to let his little dove suffer like this alone!
Yeah Sanchoumou does get sick in the end but hey, worth it! He helped you and now you get to take care of him! Win win situation...he supposes.
Minamoto Kiyomaro
Oh dude the minute you get sick and start coughing and sneezing, Kiyomaro pauses, confused, almost panicking on the inside. He wonders if anything is wrong and he knows that something is wrong! He begins to fuss over you, hand against your forehead and you lean into the touch. He freezes for a minute, almost too enamored with a sort of blissed out look on your face and dreamy gaze. And then you pass the fuck out and he panics.
Of course he brings you back to your room and immediately screams for Hasebe, Yagen, Tomoe, whoever the hell to help him. Suishinshi is inwardly panicking a little but mostly doing his best to keep his friend calm. Kiyomaro is halfway ready to chuck himself off of a cliff, what the hell had he done wrong????????
When it’s just a mere cold or something Minamoto almost collapses from how much he had been worrying, but now a weight has left his shoulders, you won’t die from this! You can just bounce back stronger and better than ever!!
He’s not leaving your side unless he has to. Will drag all sorts of video games into your room to play with you. Most of the time it’s you watching him and maybe playing. He’s going to keep you occupied from thinking about how sick you are. Of course if you do have a coughing fit, he’s right there to rub circles into your back and give you meds! You’ll never be bored with him around!
If you want to sleep, Kiyomaro will understand. If you ask to cuddle, he’s there boo! He understands if you need space but man, he’ll risk getting sick with you! He’ll be a bit pouty when he’s away from you while you nap, of course he knows he’ll see you again but like...his eyes will always wander in the direction of your shared room with a soft sigh upon his lips.
During his time away from you, Minamoto will take the time to figure out how to better take care of you! Books, talking to peeps, anything and everything! Hell he’ll try to cook you something too! Catch him in the kitchen making you soup or congee or whatever the hell you’re craving! Will try to sneak you some snacks though, much to the chagrin of everyone around him. Will hide said snacks in his shirts if he gotta.
He’s a bit clumsy in the role of a caregiver, but he’s going to do his best to help you!
If anything during your sick days he’ll try his best to cheer you up! He’s always going to bring in stories from his time around the citadel to you, and will happily sit by you in silence if you just wanna bask in each other’s presences!
Yeah sure if he gets sick, he’ll be like, “Now you can take care of me~!” and be oh so happy that he gets to be spoiled too!!!
Suishinshi Masahide
Panic mode, engaged. Sirens are running in his head when he notices that you’re sick. There is a flash of fear in his eyes when you come down with a fever. He may not show it outwardly but you can see with the way his hands shake as he holds you, worried whispers passing his lips, questioning if you’re alright or not.
Suishinshi begins to fuss over you immediately, “My liege, are you alright? Do you need anything? Water? Food? Rest? I-I’m sorry if I’m bothering you! I can leave if you want? Anything to help you feel better! Just...just tell me whatever it is that you want and need okay? I’m here for you.” his hands would not dare to leave yours, even though they shake so much that you think they might shatter - an earthquake in his heart, almost too much for him to handle.
If you are sleeping and resting and Suishinshi is out and about, he will also look longingly back towards your shared room, with soft sighs of need leaving his lips. He just wants to be by your side! What’s wrong with that! Of course, if someone asks/teases him about this, he will huff and act all tsundere about it, trying to hide his flushing face within his collar. “Just...just making sure that our liege is alright. That it all!” but it is oh so plain to see, with how he dips his head to hide his flush and the look in his eyes that’s he’s worried about you. The teasing won’t last for too long though.
Don’t even think about trying to work while Suishinshi is around. He’ll take away your papers and almost try to take on your workload for himself! He’s no Hasebe or Tomoegata but he’s going to want to help you in whatever way he can! He wants to show you that you can rely on him, even if he was never good at words.
If you want company Suishinshi will be more than happy to stay by your side, even if he flushes at it and mumbles, “I-If that’s what you want.” and sits by you, the weight leaving his shoulders and slowly slumping against your form. Will always want to hold your hand during this.
If you two sleep together, Suishinshi will 100% fall asleep first, before you do; especially if he’s the little spoon, he loves listening to your heart! However he’s a pretty light sleep, so the minute he hears you coughing or sneezing or sniffling, he’ll shoot awake and tend to every need you have!
Will probably take down notes on how to take care of you the next time you end up sick. Has a little kit ready for this occasion.
If Suishinshi does get sick because of you, you get to spoil him yes, but he instantly becomes 700% more clingy. He’ll try to frame it as, “I can take care of myself!” and then as you tease him and try to leave he’ll be like, “n-No! Please stay...please?”
Will probably be the type of person who will keep your room clean and free of germs! What if you get sick again??

I asked this question on a different TR tumblr page, but in case they don't answer, I wanted to ask on this page too. How would the tantous (you may pick which ones to use) react towards a motherly saniwa? A saniwa who treats them as her own children? Thanks! ovo
Sorry I didn't go with four, I hope you still like anon.Sayo• Doesn't understand, his reactions are halfway between confused and really flattered. • He likes it but also doesn't trust such affection. Aizen• He likes it more then he'd admit, kind of eagerly accepts the behavior and starts treating the Saniwa like a mum. • Probably gets jealous if you treat anyone else like it.

@saniwa-hava
What a sweet little master he had this time, and so easy to fluster too~ He didn’t even mind the injuries he’d gained from this little scuffle she’d sent him on, all by himself. It just gave him a chance to play with her more~
“Do you wish for me to undress, Aruuji-sama? I’m already halfway there...”
