Microsoft SharePoint and Dynamics 365 for Human Resources: Transforming Team Collaboration and HR Efficiency
In today's digital workplace, effective collaboration and streamlined HR processes are essential for maintaining productivity and a positive employee experience. Microsoft SharePoint and Dynamics 365 for Human Resources provide an integrated approach to address these needs, offering powerful tools to enhance team collaboration, automate HR functions, and empower employees with self-service capabilities. Here’s how these solutions work together to transform HR and teamwork efficiency:
1. Centralised Document Management and Team Collaboration with SharePoint
Microsoft SharePoint serves as a centralised platform where teams can securely store, share, and collaborate on documents in real time. This is especially beneficial for HR departments, as it enables them to:
Organise Key HR Documents: HR can store important files—such as policies, training materials, and onboarding documents—in a secure, searchable location, ensuring that employees have access to up-to-date information at all times.
Enable Cross-Department Collaboration: SharePoint’s collaboration features allow HR teams to work closely with other departments, such as IT and legal, to ensure compliance, update policies, and coordinate onboarding.
Enhance Remote Teamwork: With remote and hybrid work becoming more common, SharePoint offers easy access to resources from anywhere, supporting flexible work arrangements and keeping teams connected.
2. Automating HR Processes with Dynamics 365 for HR
Dynamics 365 for Human Resources is a powerful solution that automates repetitive HR tasks, enabling HR teams to focus on strategic activities that add value. Dynamics 365 for HR helps by:
Automating Employee Lifecycle Management: From onboarding to performance tracking and offboarding, Dynamics 365 helps streamline each stage of the employee journey, reducing administrative burdens and minimising errors.
Providing Self-Service Capabilities: Employees can use self-service tools to access their personal information, submit leave requests, and view benefits, reducing the need for HR intervention and empowering employees to manage their own data.
Tracking Performance and Goals: Dynamics 365 enables managers and HR teams to set goals, track progress, and provide feedback, fostering a culture of continuous development and aligning employee goals with company objectives.
3. Enhancing Employee Onboarding and Training
The onboarding experience can set the tone for an employee's entire tenure with the company. Using SharePoint and Dynamics 365 together provides a seamless onboarding process that includes:
Interactive Onboarding Portals: SharePoint allows HR teams to create customised onboarding portals where new hires can find resources, fill out paperwork, and complete orientation tasks in one place.
Automated Onboarding Workflows: Dynamics 365 enables HR to automate workflows for onboarding, assigning tasks to various departments to ensure a smooth transition. This might include IT setting up equipment, finance managing payroll, and supervisors scheduling orientation sessions.
Training and Development Tracking: HR can use Dynamics 365 to assign training modules and monitor completion, while SharePoint hosts training materials for easy access. This streamlined process improves onboarding consistency and enhances new hires’ engagement from day one.
4. Centralising Communication and Announcements
Keeping employees informed is key to building a cohesive organisational culture. SharePoint can act as a central communication hub for company news, HR announcements, and policy updates. Here’s how it benefits HR and teams:
Company-Wide Announcements: HR can use SharePoint to publish news and updates, ensuring that all employees receive timely information, from policy changes to wellness initiatives.
Departmental Communication: Specific departments can use SharePoint to share updates relevant to their teams, keeping communications organised and accessible based on user permissions.
Employee Feedback Channels: SharePoint’s collaboration tools can include feedback channels, allowing employees to share their thoughts on HR initiatives or participate in surveys, helping HR tailor policies and programs to meet employee needs.
5. Advanced Analytics for Data-Driven HR Decisions
Both SharePoint and Dynamics 365 offer data analytics capabilities that HR can leverage to make more informed decisions:
Employee Engagement Insights: Dynamics 365 can track data on employee satisfaction, engagement levels, and retention, providing HR with insights to improve workplace culture.
Performance Metrics: HR can analyse employee performance data to identify high performers, areas for development, and trends in team productivity.
Optimising HR Processes: By analysing HR process data, HR teams can identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies in workflows, making improvements to streamline operations further.
6. Enhanced Security and Compliance
Managing sensitive employee data requires strict security and compliance protocols. Microsoft SharePoint and Dynamics 365 are built with enterprise-grade security features that protect data integrity and ensure compliance:
Role-Based Access Controls: Both platforms allow HR to set access permissions, ensuring that only authorised personnel can access sensitive data, maintaining confidentiality.
Compliance with Regulations: Dynamics 365 for HR helps maintain compliance with employment laws, GDPR, and other regulations by centralising data, tracking consent, and automating compliance tasks.
Audit Trails and Reporting: Both SharePoint and Dynamics 365 provide audit trails, helping HR departments track data usage and monitor any changes for increased accountability and compliance.
7. Integrating Other Microsoft 365 Tools
The seamless integration of SharePoint and Dynamics 365 with other Microsoft 365 tools (such as Teams, Outlook, and Power BI) further boosts HR efficiency and collaboration:
Microsoft Teams Integration: HR can use Teams to communicate instantly with employees and managers, integrating with SharePoint to share documents and with Dynamics 365 to monitor HR tasks within the same ecosystem.
Power BI for Enhanced Reporting: Dynamics 365 and SharePoint data can be visualised with Power BI, allowing HR leaders to create detailed reports and gain insights to guide HR strategy.
Outlook for Scheduling and Reminders: HR teams can set reminders and manage schedules using Outlook integration, improving coordination and ensuring tasks are completed on time.
Conclusion
Microsoft SharePoint and Dynamics 365 for Human Resources bring powerful collaboration and automation capabilities that transform HR departments and team dynamics. By centralising document management, automating workflows, enhancing security, and enabling data-driven decision-making, these solutions empower HR to work more efficiently and foster a more engaged, informed, and connected workforce. Embracing these technologies enables organisations to remain agile, improve employee experience, and ultimately drive business success.

honestly i thought surtr was like some sort of hidden arknights boss or an ex-villain or something but she's just a passive mall goth lounging around and eating all my damn ice cream
#arknights#she doesnt leave my damn fridge alone#had to request a new minifridge through HR to hide my personal ice cream stash#(theyre original klondike bars. you see#only the original klondike bar has a solid chocolate casing hard enough that its a valid shell that doesnt crack or melt easily#and what i do is that in my office i use a spoon to introduce small microcracks into the klondike bar#to then pry apart by pieces and slowly deshell the klondike bar to eat its chocolate seperately from the ice cream#after ive finished eating all of the shell and ive properly left the ice cream proper nude#i proceed to eat the block of vanilla ice cream like a normal ice cream serving with the same spoon#using the foil itself as a plate for max efficiency#and upon finishing i lick the foil plate clean and politely fold up and throw away to minimize trash output as much as possible#thus ensuring a nice ice cream experience#but no surtr has to be like “bro just bite into the fucking ice cream its an ice cream sandwich”#BITCH you dont UNDERSTAND the PROCESS#WHICH ONE OF US IS THE TACTICIAN HERE????

how do you study for such long hours? 12-16 hours? i tend to tire out after 8 hours.
bc if i'm not top of the class then what's the point. duhh
#my sincere answer is i have a degree in biochemistry#i've trained myself over a long period of time to do 8 hour study days#my stamina is probably just not like the average person's#i also break them down into blocks. 2 or 3 or 4 hour blocks idk. depends on what i have to do for the day#i also genuinely love academia and it's not hard for me to turn my phone off and throw it in a river#just so i could be engrossed in books all day#i love science i love studying i romanticize it easily i love challenging myself etc#also 12 hour and 16 hours r kinda overkill if you're not cramming for a national exam and u only have 2 weeks#i usually don't feel the need to surpass 8 hours unless i'm doing intense study camps#at the end of the day studying is a sport just like anything else#id say if ur needing to do 12 hr study days on the reg tho maybe assess ur efficiency#someone can study 8 hours a day every day but only truly be studying for like 2 hours

*sniffle* well, that's that then. voyager has made it back to the alpha quadrant (albeit i'm not the biggest fan of the "timey whimey antics save the day" means utilized but i've seen similar plots play out far worse so i'll accept it with minimal brow furrowing), my mind & heart are full with a new sci-fi obsession, and while i know i said i'm diving into TNG asap, i do think my little ticker needs a minute to process & say goodbye to the star fleet captain who-- no matter how good picard/other captains i can't wait to meet are-- will now forever be My Captain(tm), and her intrepid crew (i'll even miss the doctor!) of the U.S.S. Voyager o7
#i've been trying to draw it out (i did a good job at slowly watching the first seasons but by the last few i couldnt resist the binge lol)#gotta also put prodigy high on the list since the grapevine tells me janeway returns#although i think it got an early cancellation bc of course it fucking did#star trek voyager#lots to think on and maybe post about but thats for later#also ive heard conflicting reports about Sevens return in picard & autostraddle may have queerbaited me but idc whats canon i know what i k#what i know and i know that everyone that far in the future is bi until proven otherwise especially our girl#☝ distinguishing romantic partners based solely on gender is an imperfect parameter for efficient seeking of suitable individuals#dani talks about tv#1 question i still need answers to: what IS the star fleet hr protocol for what happens to tom & janeway in threshold????#love how some episodes are these cosmic horror displays that never get referenced again like WHOOPS hyperevolved me & my captain#& LEFT OUR ALIEN OFFSPRING ON THE PLANET we landed on. anyway now back to whatever shenanigans tuvok is up to!#haha it was great though. season 3 alone has a lot of my favorite episodes

once again i am being subjected to "educational courses on generative AI" (lengthy advertisements that the higher ups want us to watch so they can say that we are trained in AI)
#it's a contact year we need to show that we spend a lot of tiem not only maintaining this stuff but also learning and improving the produc#we provide#they never define what they mean by AI or how the AI actually works its driving me insane#whoah this adobe ai can generate an image for you and insert it into the image you have have without learning photoshop#yeah but HOW. where are these images being pulled from? what methods are used to produce this shit#HOLY SHIT: most programmers dont actually spend that much time programming. they actually spend a lot of time in meetings. helping coworker#reading emails. reading documentation. HELLO???? YES??? THOSE ARE NORMAL THINGS TO DO???#yes attending meetings is annoying but the solution is to fucking reduce the amount of meetings and ensuring that meetings are efficient#NOT TO ADD AI????#the stupid fucking AI building half ur code isnt gonna reduce the time spent looking at documentation!!!! u can't trust the AI to be accura#to be accurate so ur gonna have to go to the documentation anyway!!!#u can just code not worrying about syntax blah blah” so writing psuedocode??? doing a top down approach to get the big idea#and then write the little stuff later???#im so fucking livid this is SO DUMB#literally all the shit they mentioned in passing sounds actually useful instead of the generative AI bs#no i dont need a little guy to write my code for me#but a guy who checks my syntax? that suggests i look at a particular function from the library? that sounds useful!!!#“if i ask this thing how to do X it will tell me how with steps!”#Okay so will the documentation???? hello????#omfg this guy conviently skipped over the part where the AI gave a WRONG ANSWER#bro i can read the screen it did NOT accurately describe the game#“have it generate the game for you” the point of the little shit is to learn how to do stuff so you can apply it to the big shit#god im just so enraged#mr supervisor is this a good use of company resources?#you are billing t he client for ME learning ai bullshit#sir you having me sit through hours of learning the newest buzzword concepts. is this a good use of 8 hrs the client pays for me to be here#chit chat

A lot of cruise ctrl has been on hold for me because I keep running away from the technical and world building aspects but I bit the bullet and have been figuring a lot of shit out so there's that. Currently suffering my way through deciding how hoverbikes will work in a way that's realistic enough for my standards but I'm locked tf in
#I put aside like 4 hrs knowing it would take longer than I thought and I was so right lmao#engine types and historical precedent and superchargers and gas vs electric and rider assist programs and design aspects and#rockets and fuel efficiency and traffic laws and all that fun stuff#oh and transmissions and automation and power splitting and lift and thrust#shits making me realize how hard it is to actually ride one#like handling a sportbike and a light aircraft and a helicopter and a drone at the same time#😵💫#txt

I was extremely correct to bitch yesterday btw
#14 hrs today and everything i predicted came true#with the added bonus of seeing how hard corporate fucks the companies that aren't unionized#like. to the point of shooting themselves in both feet. it's bizarre.#and breaking federal labor laws in order to make less money and increase gross suffering in the world#is why capitalism is the best and most efficient system

aldi down the road lets cashiers sit on the job & pays $16/hr (minimum wage is $7.25) ....... i just might apply
#im currently working 25 hours a week doing a campus job (that honestly is really good experience & that i like more)#but its only $10/hr so like. i have to compensate for that low ass wage by working the max amt of hours a student can work#whereas at aldi if i work 15-16 hours a week (almost 10 less than im working now) id still be making a bit more than i make now#and all things considered if i reduce my campus job hours/drop it completely and pick up work at aldi i just might be able to get#an adequate amount of sleep each night or sth crazy 🤪#HOWEVER. im worried about the parking situation since this schools parking setup is SHIT#before i picked up my campus job (where i arrive in the mornings and dont have to fight for my life for a spot) id drive around fucking#45 minutes EACH DAY to just get a gd spot and i do NOT. WANT. to GO BACK TO THAT#i may just take the bus lol. lmao#its not v reliable but it seems a LOT more efficient#idk

i know i'm always busy because i'm doing it to myself but i'm tired of always having a million things to do and always feeling behind and being jealous of people who don't have a huge list of work to do on the weekends. and also friends to hang out with in their free time
#ive been so so slow at accomplishing anything all weekend and i feel so TIRED even though i feel like i've gotten nothing done!!!#there are so many people who do so much more work than me AND have full time jobs and idk how they do it.#it makes me feel like i'm not trying hard enough!! but i always feel so busy and like i have a billion things to do!#idk man. i'm gonna do some stretches and then try to get some more work done i guess#chatpost#on the other hand i tend to work slow all day and then stay up super late reading to relax and then only sleep 6-7 hr#so like. no wonder i'm tired#i don't know how to balance taking breaks and figuring out how to work more efficiently to make my life easier#which would inherently MEAN more breaks. if i could work more efficiently. wonder if i should start timing myself working or something#but that sounds miserable. i dunno
