Secret Santa 2024 (Swiftie Edition)

Hello, or should I say, ho-ho-ho! The time has come for another year's Secret Santa (swiftie edition)! Some of you may remember me from last year - I'll try not to get shadowbanned this time lmao.

The idea is for us swifties to send each other festive anonymous asks, get to know one another and have fun during the holiday season! Making gifts is optional but appreciated.

If you want to participate, please fill out this google form no later than December 1st. The age question is so that huge age gaps are avoided, especially when it comes to minors. This is a minor-friendly event!

Please make sure you have a Discord account on which we can send you a friend request/messages. You can also create one, it's easy! Me and Kat @falklore will be your lovely elves, doing Santa's work once again, but we do not want to get shadowbanned again. As the tumblr messaging system is unreliable when it comes to sending a large group of people similar messages, we will be using Discord. Your emails will not be saved when filling out the google form, and we will message you on discord only for your pairing/if there are any issues or questions for the duration of the Secret Santa event.

Our Discord usernames are ithinkheknowss and falkloree respectively.

We will then pair everyone and let you know who you will be messaging, hopefully by December 3rd, at which point you can start sending anonymous asks. You will also be assigned a different person as your secret santa.

Please have your anonymous asks open and check your discord for our message.

Identity reveal will be on December 25th, as mentioned making each other gifts is optional!

Please be consistent in your asks (if not every day, then every two or three days) and keep things polite and civil. Rudeness and bigotry will not be excused and you'll be removed from the exchange of asks. If you receive rude asks from your secret santa, please report them to me.

Please let us know if you have any questions or suggestions, or if your secret santa has not messaged you at all / for longer than 3 days. Please make sure you'll have time to participate regularly before signing up, so that the person whose secret santa you end up being is not left hanging.

christmas in mondstadt, you’ve come to learn, is always a cheery, beautiful thing. there are stalls temporarily set up in springvale and the city itself, selling mulled dandelion wine, more varieties of wurst than there were dandelion seeds in teyvat, and all kinds of lovely little trinkets from traditionally made wooden toys to handmade christmas tree ornaments. it’s like the one time of the year when parents are taking their children all the way to dragonspine to play with the snow, the time when citizens are flocking to the cathedral to pray to their lord (who just so happens to be the drunkard singing christmas carols in the tavern), the time when families are gathering by the fireplace to chat and bask in each other’s presence or sitting by the table to enjoy a lovingly prepared meal at christmas gatherings, parties and the like. even some members of the knights of favonius are taking a break no matter how busy they are— especially jean, lord knows how much the lady needs a break— and you and your husband kaeya already have loads of preparations underway for christmas gatherings and the like. 

it was a lovely thing. 

“merry christmas,” your brother-in-law— diluc ragnvindr, the wine tycoon himself— greets you as you enter the tavern after a long day of commissions (it was to be expected, what with all the preparations needed to be made for a safe and pleasant christmas). 

kaeya waves at you as you sit by the counter, before you peck his cheek and tuck some few of his luscious strands of blue hair behind his ear with a “hello, love”. 

“merry christmas to you too,” you reply to diluc, “even if it’s only, like— a whole week away?” 

“well, christmas in mondstadt starts a month before the actual day itself,” kaeya jokes, “and I’m sure my dear brother would be pleased to gift you whatever christmas present you’d like, wouldn’t you, diluc?” 

diluc grimaces as if looking at the most disgusting thing he’d ever seen. (it was funny.) “shouldn’t you be doing that for your own spouse, kaeya?” even the way he says his brother’s name sounds like he’s spitting it out, though you know he doesn’t truly despise him, and so you try your best to hold a snort. 

“oooh, ooh, master diluc!” paimon starts, rather discourteously (or maybe out of a lack of care for how the poor man would perceive her) waving her little arms about before his face, “maybe you can give us some really tasty, fancy food for christmas!” 

“hmm, expensive, too,” you join in, teasing him, “oh, please, diluc? or maybe even one of those new automobile machines they’re working on in fontaine…” 

it seems kaeya’s getting the hint— your hint, at least, since it seems like paimon is every bit serious about this unlike you and your husband. “well, you heard them, diluc—” 

“I am not getting you a car from fontaine of all places. and aren’t you already closely acquainted with the actual Chief Justice himself?” 

and on it went, with paimon naming every thing she could think of, and you (or your beloved kaeya) listing whatever else was more expensive than what she did as if you were raising the price at an auction— yet one difference this had from an actual auction was that instead of the buyers paying for the increasingly costly dishes, gifts and goods, it was poor master diluc instead. 

and your brother-in-law, though annoyed, was never fazed by the prices themselves and kept at the empty glasses he had been cleaning.

“do you think he’ll actually get any of what we said we wanted?” you ask as the two you walk out the tavern, a dozed-off paimon in your arms. 

“I don’t think so,” kaeya begins, “but knowing him… well, let’s just say that whatever he decides to do will be interesting, to say the least.” 

“uh-huh,” you reply, raising a brow.

there’s music playing from the gramophone, a jolly tune that kaeya hums as the fireplace crackles in tune with in delight. 

“kaeya,” you call. he stops mid-hum, setting down the cutlery on the table. he gets up immediately, like a pet to its owner’s voice, and suddenly you’re giggling fondly at the thought without having noticed it. 

“yes?” from behind his arms circle you like a warm, snug blanket, luscious and long strands of beautiful blue tickling your back and the nape of your neck, and his hand on your waist. 

“I think that madman really did it,” you grin, gesturing to the bottom of the ornately decorated (courtesy of both yours and kaeya’s ideas for where to place each and every ornament) christmas tree, and each of the gifts below them (from how you know what each one is, you’re quite sure he’s not the best gift-wrapper around, but definitely the wealthiest): a cutting-edge thirty-million-mora watch from fontaine, bespoke paimon-sized garments made from liyuean materials and handmade by inazuman tailors, and even a limited-edition TCG card yet to be fully released to the public (you know cyno would be punching the air right now if he knew). “or, at least, he tried to get some, even though some of the wishes we brought up were almost unfulfillable. he tried to get most of them.” 

“well I suppose we ought to just wait for him to come, if he’ll even visit,” kaeya says. 

“wonder how he even snuck it all here in the first place,” you jest, though you suppose the darknight hero had temporarily done some christmas duties in santa’s stead the night before, “and I’m sure that he’ll come,” you finish, pecking your husband on the cheek.

“merry christmas,” diluc says as he walks through the door, and although it’s late and most of the others have left, the clock has yet to strike midnight and it’s still christmas night. 

“and a happy christmas to you too, diluc,” kaeya greets, “and I was surprised you actually delivered. you wouldn’t happen to just be fooling us with the wrapping paper, would you?” 

“do you want me to have done so?” 

pft— even after regaining some of what they had before they bore the titles of estranged brothers, your husband was still absolutely incorrigible. (it was really funny, especially now that you knew each word they spoke to the other had less hate and more love than the last; that you knew it was more of playful jesting against a thoroughly annoyed sigh instead of vestiges of a duel many, many years ago.) 

but still. poor old master diluc, having to deal with his brother and his spouse, as well as the borderline unmeetable demands of said brother’s spouse’s long-time travelling companion. 

“haha! I was just joking, diluc. but thank you, for this, I suppose.” 

“mhm,” you add, “you should’ve seen paimon’s face when she saw the wrapping— actually, we were waiting for you to come so that we could open all of the presents together, right in front of the person who’d gotten them for us. 

“paimon!” you call, directing your voice to the rooms above you and up the stairs, “diluc’s here.” 

then she floats down, and, like a child, wags her legs about excitedly. “ooh, paimon was so excited for this!” 

so the four of you open the gifts together, untangling the poorly-tied ribbons (again, you’re sure diluc must have tried his best, and done so on his own, too) and tearing away at the wrapping paper. paimon squeals in delight with each gift opened, and kaeya whips out a kamera for a picture of the four of you.

“merry christmas, diluc,” kaeya says, handing him the gift, “from me to you.”

“grape juice, huh?” 

“of course. he likes it, after all,” kaeya answered as he sat by the christmas tree, wrapping paper, scissors and tape scattered all over the floor, and then he pointed to the leather-wrapped object beside him, “but this makes everything better.”

“a book? it looks beautiful,” you commented. 

“no, a photo album. to capture memories we used to store old mementoes and photos in old boxes, but now that kameras are getting more and more common than ever, I decided to get one like this. see?” he grinned, displaying its opened pages before you, “it has these cases to protect and preserve the photos inside.” 

“oh, kaeya,” you kissed his cheek, “it’s wonderful. I’m sure he’ll love it.”

Wait I got another one: Steggy + your favorite AU

Hello Jim! I'm your Steggy Secret Santa! So I don't really have a favorite AU so I made an Excel sheet with every AU and went one by one with ideas for each one until something clicked.

I present to you a Bodyguard / Mafia AU. Ok, hear me out. This is very cliché, basic and I can't write. 

The idea is that Steve is living with his mom in Brooklyn she gets sick, she needs surgery, but they can't afford it, one thing leads to the other and he becomes a Mafia Associate so he can pay for the surgery.

Peggy is the daughter of the Don, she hates the Mafia and wants nothing to do with them. Both she and Steve are like 22 ish. She is studying at a university (maybe law and maybe volunteers at the same hospital where Sarah works for story reasons) and Michael works for their father when an opposing Mafia makes a threat on both of their lives. So Don decides to have one of his associates protect Peggy who is Steve.  

They instantly don't like each other. Peggy doesn't like him because he is in the Mafia and Steve doesn't like her because he thinks she is a spoiled college girl. 

Their day-to-day is pretty much how much they can annoy each other. (Maybe you can add here that Sarah is complaining that she never sees her son anymore so he brings Peggy to his mom's and that's how Steve learns she volunteers there because she hasn't been there since the threat. They say to Sarah that Peggy's father hired him because a creep at uni or an ex scared her or something. After that Peggy learns why Steve joined the Mafia). They start to like each other more after that.

One day a guy tries to attack Peggy, maybe with a knife, they run away but Steve gets hurt. Peggy is really shaken by that.

She takes care of him while he recovers and well they were sharing a bed and here we are.

If it's not late, it's probably not me! Not for all things, but for a whole lot, so it's with my sincere apologies that I post this "Countdown to 2024" on the 9th day of the year!

Now, I'm going to be honest: I started to write this, and the list got huge. HUGE. And while I like to spread the love and be as inclusive as I possibly can, at some point, it began to look like an amalgamation of everything I've read in the year. So, I decided to scale back and follow the rules (gasp!) ... sort of... lol

See, I don't think writer appreciation should be limited to these events. Writer... creator... appreciation is a living, breathing act that should take place year-round. Each time you comment, share, or even leave a little ❤️ on a fic, you're showing your appreciation, gratitude and, honestly, you're serving yourself, because that simple act may be the very thing that tips the scale and makes your favorite say, "You know what, yeah! I'm going to keep doing this."

So, to every single writer in the fandom - thank you. I tried to show you love throughout 2023, and I hope to do more of that in 2024... you all mean so much to me!

But, I'm limiting this to three (and lawd that really was NOT easy) lol

When I closed my eyes and thought of the last year in fics, this is what came to my mind...

One...

@alj4890 - Seriously, I feel she is a writer who deserves so much more love than she gets. And, if y'all were smart, you'd take the time to change that in 2024! I love the passion that she has for every one of her pairings, even though she knows my favorite will always be Tobias x Chris (OH). Whether being light and witty or delving into deep emotion, your fics are always touching and beautifully written. I'm excited whenever I get a tag from you! Some of my favorites in 2023 were Visceral Reaction, Holding On, Nope (I had to give Trystan x Cameron some love, too!) and you know I was just crazy about The Wake. What a great concept! But I wouldn't be mad if you got back to Mixed Signals. Selfishly, I hope 2024 brings you more time to write, but honestly, I just hope it brings you joy!

Two...

2023 will always be the year that I fell in love with Crimes of Passion, and with that, I discovered another corner of our community and the many talented writers within it. I will forever bow to the queen of Crimes fics (yes, you @inlocusmads - there needs not to be a vote; it has been decreed! And New York, June 2014 was one of the first things that came to my mind when recalling this year's fics!) I got to learn about some writers I was not familiar with previously (shout out to @shreyamistry - your Trystan x M!MC Fanfic lives on in my mind, and I'm always hoping for a follow-up!) It gave me the opportunity to see some of my old favorites soar in a different place (hello @storyofmychoices @trappedinfanfiction and @lilyoffandoms - Lily, can we please have more Trystan x Gabriel all day every day??? PLEASE). And it did something I love more than anything: it allowed us all to see new creators step up and share their love and talent with us, and right now, I'm looking at @stars-are-within-me and @moominofthevalley Crimes wouldn't have been as enjoyable without you. @stars-are-within-me, I appreciated you taking the time to give us parts of the story that Pixelberry failed to address. In my opinion, the best was The Favorite Brother, and I may be a little biased, but I loved the beautiful trio of stories you wrote for me in the Secret Santa (Airport, Angel, and Cookies). You're so supportive of everyone, I'm so glad you're a part of our fandom! @moominofthevalley your writing is just beautiful, and I have found myself lost in your Trystan x Emily stories on so many occasions. It's hard to pick a favorite, but Heavy is Her Heart , The Girl With The Glass, and Turpentine stick out in my mind. You are masterful in conveying emotion, and these fics are perfect examples of that.

Three...

(You see how I cheated here, sort of? lol) I will never be able to look back on 2023 and NOT think of the hijinx of Ethan x Merida, Bryce x Olivia, and Tobias x Casey. They wouldn't have been possible if not for the vision and talent of the incomparable @lilyoffandoms and @storyofmychoices. Sure, "they" were born in the end of 2022, but they grew up in 2023! The way I smile when whenever I see a notification for another story with our babies! I love every single one of their shenanigans, but two that stand out to me were Mystery Unlocked by @storyofmychoices and When Husbands Become Prey by @lilyoffandoms (the way I CACKLED when I saw that title! lol). These six were a highlight of 2023, and I know there is much more to look forward to this year! Love you both, and love our babies!

And four... because I be like that lol

I can't not mention @mydemonsdrivealimo because 2023 was the year of Jensen in my book. And while I loved your works from earlier this year (looking at you Your Love and What I'm Becoming), I have to admit, Halloween owns me... and not jus because of the connection to Noah. lol Your descriptive writing and the way you convey painful emotions are just brilliant.

Thank you to each and every one of you for bringing a smile to our faces or tears to our eyes this year, and thank you for helping the fandom move along! ❤️

Jacob x reader

This is an expansion to the Emma reacting to the slayers dating the reader (her sibling) but it’s Jacob who’s getting the expansion, again this was requested by @hyunjinbiased-blog.

You smiled as you watched everyone gathered around the living room couches as the screen illuminated light from whatever movie was playing.

It was times like this were you glad to have things in your life that make you happy.

Such things included; being in a relationship with the greatest man you’ve ever met, the people you have become friends with and this sight in front of you, which was a rare sight to see.

Of course you didn’t want to barge in on their movie time because we’re doing other things like your favourite activity.

You look over and see Jacob on the ground between Sam and Emma, eyes glued to the screen in front of him.

You must have been standing there for a bit because Jacob look up and sees you and says;

“Hey sweetheart come sit with us”

Everyone gives you a smile as an invite but you didn’t want to barge in like that.

“Um…I would love too but I..uh have other stuff to do” you say as you go to walk away.

“Wait, babe c’mon please, you haven’t had a time like this in ages, now come on” Jacob says patting his lap, a signal for you to sit there.

You sigh and say “alright”

You make your way over to your boyfriend and sit down in his lap and he wraps his arms around your waist before giving you a quick kiss.

He flicks his eyes back up to the screen and continues watching the movie and you do the same.

Emma looks down at you both and smiles. She was really happy that you found someone who treated you right and treated you with respect.

She may have been wary at first because she didn’t want you to get with a man that was like her husband, Robert.

She didn’t want you to go through what she did and couldn’t risk you getting hurt, but her perspective changed once you got with Jacob.

She liked Jacob because he was gentleman and not some prick.

Sam nudged her a bit “ya starin”

“I’m just glad they found a guy that’s actually a nice guy, I was just worried about them getting with someone who would treat them like shit” Emma told him.

“I get it, but Jacob Is a great guy and we both know that, everyone knows that” Sam said as he kissed her temple.

She smiled and turned her attention back to the movie, Sam was right, everyone knew it.

-Time jump-

The movie had ended and you had fallen asleep on Jacob with your head in his chest and hands placed on his chest.

Everyone else got up to go to bed as it was getting late and Emma remained behind with you and Jacob.

Jacob looked down at you and smiled “alright it’s time to get you to bed”

Jacob got up with you in his arms and carried you bridal style to your shared bed and layed you down before tucking you under the covers.

Emma came to the door and said “hey”

Jacob looked up and said “hello, what’s up?”

Emma smiled “nothing, it’s just that you’re such a gentleman towards my sibling and to be fair, I used to be so worried about them ended up with someone like Robert..I just didn’t want them to go through it”

Jacob put a hand on her shoulder “listen, (y/n) deserves nothing but love and respect and will give that to them.”

Emma smiles “Thank you..”

“Ah don’t sweat it””

She leaves and Jacob decides to get into bed with you and cuddles while whispering “I promise nothing will hurt them, over my dead body”

-Extra-

You had gotten back with Sam from a run when you notice no one was home but you spot a note on the table on the bar.

(Y/N),

If you read this come to the beach in Santa Monica, me and the others are waiting there for you and Sam and don’t worry, me and the others have taken care of the walkers.

“Sam, they went to the beach in Santa Monica we need to head there” I said

“Ight let’s fix our weapons and get moving, it will be night time soon so we don’t want to be too long” he said.

“No objections here” you reply as you take the note and put it in your pocket.

After fixing your weapons and grabbing some supplies like protein bars and drinks for the journey ahead you make your way down to the sewers.

There were no walkers which made it easier to go through the entrance and into the underground part.

Sam had his trusty hammer equipped and you had your (W/O/C) as you surveyed the area for any incoming dangers.

You and Sam both made your way through the main entrance and turned right and went through a door leading to the other side of the sewer and made your way down to Pattons.

“I wonder why they all went to Santa Monica?” You question as you don’t recall any reason everyone would go at the same time.

“Same, even though it’s not as bad as it was it’s still dangerous” Sam said.

You make it to Patton’s home and knock on the door before he opens the door.

(Y/N), it’s so good to see you, let me guess you’re headed to Santa Monica right?” Patton asked

“Yes, did Jacob come through here with the others” you ask back.

He nodded “yes he did he said it was important that you be there”

“Ok…thanks patton” you say as he opens the door for you that’s leads out into Brentwood sewers.

You travel up a bit to the sewer and through the floodgates which was still open and through the worst stuff and into the outside world as you entered Venice beach.

You drop in and say hi to Trent and Kai with Sam before making your way back on track to Santa Monica.

After a bit longer of travelling you finally made it to Santa Monica and up ahead of you,you see a silhouette that looked like Jacob, but where were the others?

“Sam I only see Jacob, go find the others” you told him and he gave you a good luck before running off to search the area.

You run towards Jacob and started screaming “JACOB!”

He turned around to face you and a smile plastered his face as he watched you run to him the lighting of the sun setting making your face shine like heaven.

The sand beneath you crunched with every step you took towards him.

You flung yourself into his arms as you hugged him as he spun you around.

“Baby, I’ve been waiting to say this forever” Jacob started

You look at him confused as to what he was saying

“I love you with every fibre of my being and i want you to be mine forever”

He pulled out a box and opened it to see a ring.

“So (Y/N) Jaunt, will you marry me”?

Tears spill from your eyes and you nod your head vigorously

“Yes I will Jacob” you say and he slipped the ring on your finger.

He kissed you under the beautiful lighting of the sunset that bounced of the water making it look enchanting.

The others watched you from the sidelines near the tower and Emma had a tear roll down her cheek as she said “my sibling is getting married”

You pull away from Jacob and hug him close and in unison you both whisper “I love you.”

I don’t know about legend BUT… Something might be wrong with me since my smile only grew wider the further up the scale my eyes went. It did falter slightly at the last point thinking about the horrors that might await there so maybe I am not totally hopeless.

I have a reputation for pain and love a desperate tragedy but a HEA is always sublime.
