All I ever do is talk about how freaky ayato is but I never talk about how touch starved he is for non sexual intimacy too. How much he craves to be touched sweetly. Like he’s fragile and delicate.

Too many people want to cause harm to him that touch has just become something he associates with harm. Something that he usually could never afford. Not unless it was Ayaka. Maybe on occasion a handshake from Thoma. But he’s always kept a firm distance from everyone, just so he could ensure his safety.

But you are so close all the time—so unbearably close that he can feel your every breath. Your thumb traces against his mole. Your hand settles on the back of his neck, playing with the small, baby hairs at the nape. Your fingers work out the aches in his palm when he’s written at his desk for too long. Your leg hooks around his waist in your sleep.

He’s been so deprived of this casual proximity for so long, he can’t even properly function when he’s experiencing it. What did you just say? He doesn’t know. Did you just ask him something? He can’t answer that. Do you need something from him? He can’t be sure. All he knows is that warm, warm, warm feeling of you against him. Nothing else.

And then he realizes that he’s cold when you’re not around. It’s like the heat of your skin against his being absent is the same thing as freezing. He can’t go too long without you—needs you close for at least a little while at a time just to ground him so he knows this new feeling isn’t going anywhere any time soon.

Just. Touch starved Ayato.

I just wanna talk about Fitz and Ward for a second here, especially in 1x21

Fitz looked up to Ward as a brother, he was everything he wanted to be. The obvious one is when he saved Jemma, but also when he protected Fitz in 1x7. His respect and dedication to him only grew. To him, Ward could do no wrong

And so when I see people criticizing Fitz for not fully believing Skye when she said Ward was HYDRA, yeah, what did you think? He looked up to Ward the most, like I said, Ward was the pinnacle of humanity in his eyes. Everyone was coping with his betrayal in their own ways; his way was denial

He wasn't intending to be insensitive, he wasn't trying to blame Skye or claim she was wrong, he just couldn't believe it could ever be Ward based on his experiences. Many people would react a similar way, if someone they knew for such a long time turned out to be a wolf in the herd. It's just not possible

But to go back on 1x21, that relationship between Ward and Fitz truly hits the hardest. Fitz wants to believe so badly that he's good, that Garrett is making him do it. He keeps that faith right up till the end, where Ward begins to hit the buttons on the side panel. To see that look in his eyes, his panic when he cries out, "I know you care for us, Ward!"... it's truly hearbreaking. That's the look of a person who's endless hope was just shattered, and it hurts so so much

Literally the entirety of Captain America: Civil War would've been solved by any of the characters googling exactly how long it takes for a panel on the UN to get anything done/what exactly the UN is allowed to do in general

Like first of all, the UN is not a government. It doesn't have the jurisdiction to send anything more than the peacekeepers, and that only after a full meeting of all the world leaders who'd be affected. The team would have to wait for the world leaders to be flown in to a designated meeting place, and then bicker about necessity of intervention for literally days on end, even if they did wind up wanting you to go somewhere

Imagine if you'd had to wait seven to nine business days before even suiting up in ANY of the movies

There would be no United Nations except the One United Nation of Midgard that Loki is in charge of.

And look who was actually calling the shots when it came down to it? Who sent Tony and the rest of them after Cap when he defected?

Thaddeus Ross.

No panel of UN. Not even more than one person. Just the guy who pitched it to them in the first place — the same dude who actively tried to murder Bruce for not being able to be controlled.

The real question is why the heck anyone believed him in the first place. He literally walked in, told them he didn't get a sense of perspective from any of his years in the army and instead got it from a close brush with his own mortality WHILE GOLFING, insulted all of them, trauma-triggered several of them (HE PLAYED FOOTAGE OF SOKOVIA IN FRONT OF WANDA AS IF THAT WASNT HER HOME BEING DESTROYED AND THE TIME HER BROTHER GOT KILLED), compared their team members to mislaid physical weapons, threatened them, and then demanded they be controlled.

He is your common-or-garden Rich, Power-Hungry, Hyper-Militant Politician.

I mean I get that Tony was desperate to fix his mistakes, but damn. I thought the first part of his job description was "genius". He just swallowed everything Ross spoon-fed to him with zero (0) critical thinking skills or even a thirty-second google??

The Accords hadn't been ratified yet. That meant nothing had been signed yet. No one has signed the agreement, but several nations had agreed to it. Without signing anything, that just means those nations publicly SAID it was a good idea. Nobody is dumb enough to make such a huge world-changing decision without at least telling the people it affects, especially if there's only like ten of them. They went to Dublin TO RATIFY THE ACCORDS

BECAUSE IT WASNT SET IN STONE YET

It just gave Ross a better power play to pretend like it was, so he'd have the Avengers under his thumb by pretending they were already out of time to actually make a stand against it by the time they learned of the document's existence.

It was never submit or quit. That's just how Ross played it, even though he said himself that it wasn't ratified yet. And because of that, the Avengers who didn't stand with the Accords DIDNT EVEN SHOW UP TO THE UN MEETING TO DEFEND THEIR CASE

Just because Ross told them it was too late.

Kinda brilliant on Ross' part, but also immensely stupid on everyone else's.

main take aways from Halloween (1978) rewatch:

outside of the fact that everyone who has sex is murdered by the narrative, this is a surprisingly chill portrayal of female sexuality? these teen girls are horny and actively enjoying Getting It On with their boytoys. no pushy boyfriends sneaking in through their bedroom windows--these ladies are taking the initiative to sneak out and GET SOME. one of them gets laid and then immediately orders her boyfriend to get her a beer. (yes she gets Slashered soon afterward, but so does the boyfriend so honestly, gender equality.) yes the Final Girl is the only one not having sex, but she's not bullied for that, nor are her friends slut shamed except possibly by being murdered by the narrative

actually the only character who is shown being morally condemned on-screen is michael myers. specifically FOR his violent overreaction to other people's sex lives. (people he is spying on). metaphorically, the villain is American Puritanism sticking its judgy nose into other people's business.

but actually the real villain is the doctor. guy's a judgemental, shaming, pathologizing asshole. and he's been in charge of michael's care since he was SIX YEARS OLD? kid never had a chance. i'd go on a killing spree too

also the parents. where are the parents? it's halloween night and all the teenage girls are home babysitting their younger siblings? come to think of it, michael's first victim was his own older sister, whom he killed while she was babysitting him. teen girls are really shouldering a labour burden here. maybe parentification is the true villain

side note: mike commits his first murder wearing a clown costume...which is never referenced again? his 'iconic' costume is a generic mask and wig and jumpsuit, when we coulda had a Killer Clown Michael Myers??? travesty

i like how the Final Girl and her friend casually smoke weed in her car. yeah she's an honor student and her friend is the sheriff's daughter. yeah they smoke weed. so what it's 1978
