Brain science anon here
As an apology consider twinyards fluff...
Aaron learning about this is in class (Like I just did) and finally understanding Andrew a little better. Do you think he’d share this tidbit with Andrew? Would it be a conversation where Andrew decides to give a truth about his past to Aaron, telling him what happened? Would Aaron share it with the rest of the foxes (with Andrew’s blessing aka “do whatever you want” type answer when asked if it was okay) when someone starts to rag on Andrew about it, in defense of his brother? Just think of all the internal growth Aaron goes through when he realizes it’s not his fault. What else does he start to rethink and relearn about Andrew? How much closer do you think they get when Aaron realizes it's not out of animosity that Andrew acts the way he does.
I now only accept apologies by way of sweet Twinyard HCs.
Maybe Aaron finds this out and maybe he finds himself watching his brother more. Maybe he starts noticing how sometimes when Andrew is sat with Josten Andrew's eyes are warm and bright and content.
Maybe he listens to what Andrew says and sees what Andrew does more than the way Andrew says it.
I think Aaron would hold onto the information for a while. Maybe just a little bit because he doesn't know how Andrew will react to him going 'you're actually brain damaged not an asshole', maybe it's shame that he had thought his brother a monster, and maybe...maybe it's Aaron wanting to hold onto something only he knows about his brother (eat it Josten).
Then he hears Matt shit talking how Andrew will never make Neil feel loved with the way he talks.
Aaron's been watching, he is DEEPLY aware of his brother's feelings towards Josten, and has unfortunately seen his brother make those feelings quite clear even if his voice never gave anything more than 'phone book read' energy. Josten never needed to know about Andrew's brain damage to understand what Andrew means and realizing that makes him hoarding the information feel stupid (fuck off Josten).
He wants to say something but he did just take that whole 'patient-client confidentiality' ethics bit so he thinks twice. He stands up and goes to see Andrew.
Andrew and Josten are on the couch. Josten's asleep on Andrew's lap, it's domestic in a way that he's learning Andrew can be, and Andrew gives him a look.
Aaron knows if he wakes Josten up this conversation will go worse, "I took a course on brain injuries. I think you damaged your Broca’s area and Wernicke’s area and that's why your voice is like that." he says and Andrew blinks, "Did you ever...did any of them ever...hit your head really hard. Especially on the right side?" and Andrew's silent stare gives no clues but the way his hand curls in Josten's hair like he's the asshole is a preferred teddy bear. "When people bitch about how you can't emote in your speech can I tell them to shut the fuck up?" he asks.
"Do what you want." Andrew says with a shrug.
Aaron pauses before he leaves, "I...I don't think there's anything to fix-"
"I don't need to be fixed." Andrew returns and Aaron sees as Andrew traces his fingers along Josten's burn scar.
Aaron gets the impression that the only person Andrew needs to understand his emotions already does.
It doesn't bother him as much as it would have before he had started watching.
He shuts the door quietly and returns to his own dorm room to slam the door open. He points at Matt who is trying to to choke on the fig newton he'd been in the middle of chewing, "FIRST OF ALL-"

I hate allistics so fucking bad*. Autistic people will literally go "I'm pretty sure this guy has autism and at the very least you are demonizing autistic traits while you talk about him so could you talk about what he actually did wrong instead of how creepy, weird, insane, and psycho you think he is" and allistics will go "not all NTs are autistic, I'm not autistic and also I don't have a degree, nor am I this person's therapist but I'm pretty sure he has narcissistic personality disorder, another thing I don't have" bc he's low empathy and lied. Like fuck off. Autistic people saying "hey you're demonizing traits we have and it's very hurtful, just bc something would make you personally uncomfortable doesn't mean it's a moral failing" and getting the response "well actually it is and also it can't be autism bc autism is quirky so instead I'm going to demonize your traits passively while actively demonizing a different group of people bc they also make me uncomfortable" is fucked up.
This is an "I make NTs and occasionally NDs uncomfortable bc I am off putting and popular media likes yo act like there's something inherently wrong with me bc of things I can't control" safe space. If you're a freak and a weirdo and off putting, I love you.
*And if you're allistic and this doesn't apply, then it's not about you, congratulations, you're a rarity.

Tommy Kinard buying the newspaper at a gas station because someone wrote a fluff piece about the 118 and there's an Evan Buckley quote in there. The cashier comments on it and Tommy almost doesn't say it but the words bubble up anyway: "That's my boyfriend," he says, and the girl at the register raises brow, grins.
"You're telling me," she snorts, and Tommy doesn't correct her.
---
Tommy staring in horror at a live feed of the local news where Evan is talking down a jumper - the guy directly in front of him in line at the coffee shop waves his phone at Tommy, grimaces. "You seen this, man?"
Tommy blinks. "That's my boyfriend," he murmurs, and the guy in front of him grimaces.
"Dated an adrenaline junkie myself, once," he says, and Tommy knows Evan is strapped in but when he and the jumper both jolt on the line Tommy sucks in a breath and doesn't tell the guy he'd once landed a helicopter on the belly of a capsized cruise ship.
---
"He's your boyfriend," Eddie says, like that has escaped Tommy's notice anywhere in the past year and a half. Evan has been accosted by a dozen bridesmaids and he doesn't look like he knows a single way to dip out of this conversation. "I'm not going over there."
Tommy has to bite back a groan when he sees Evan gesture in his direction, and twelve heads swivel to take Tommy in, eyes all widening appreciatively.
At least this time he hadn't been so flustered he couldn't string the "I'm here with someone." together.
---
"That's my man," Tommy says, arm curled around Evan's neck, lips pressed to the curve of Evan's ear, conscious of the Smartini's captain sending daggers their way. Tommy's gonna hear about this later.
Evan's a fucking ringer in trivia.
"Barf," Gemma murmurs, finger tracing the rim of her wine glass, the stark line of white around her bare ring finger still fading. She's fighting a smile, though, as she leans forward to offer a fist for Evan to bump
---
"Don't even think about it, Kinard," Melton says, but Tommy's already finished his mental checklist.
"That's my fucking boyfriend," he says, finger jabbing in the direction of the partially collapsed building. "You find a pilot who can replace me, you let me know."
---
"That's your boyfriend?" the guy asks, brow tipped judgementally, and Tommy can't decide if he's supposed to be offended on his own behalf or Evan's. Tommy tips his head to where Eddie and Evan are furiously arguing over the song selection in the karaoke binder.
Both of their behalf, then.
He knows his grin is a little dopey when Evans eyes dart up to meet his and he immediately sends a death glare to the man standing too close to Tommy at the bar.
---
Matthew Clark is definitely planning to ignore Tommy when he recognizes him from the far end of the vitamin aisle.
Tommy wants to let him.
Evan doesn't give him much choice though, when he barrels around a corner triumphantly holding up the package of peanut butter cups only to run into Abby's brother - quite literally run into him like a goddamn linebacker protecting his QB.
By the time he makes it to the end of the aisle to assess the damage Matthew is already rolling his tongue between his teeth as he mulls something over. Tommy hasn't seen a face journey quite this emotive in at least a few years.
"That's your boyfriend?" He asks, straight faced and even toned, and Tommy just knows he's getting a phone call later.

· · 𐂂 · ·
the flash of a fur coat makes your heart sink.
fuck. she's really gonna get you fired one of these days. you don't know how many times your manager has yelled at you about her. it's not even your fucking fault! you're getting stalked by this older woman and he has the nerve to yell at you? all you can really do is kick her out, so you don't know why he's so pissed every time she manages to sneak in. she doesn't even sneak in sometimes. she's bold and watches you through the windows while she pretends she's on the phone.
you have no idea why she chose you.
are you a tiny bit flattered? of course. but are you also a tiny bit scared? of course. she doesn't seem dangerous, nor has she posed any real threat to you other than scolding you when you forgot to ask her if she wanted bags that one time, but there's a motive as to why she's following you. is she planning on kidnapping you? murdering you?
just as you start thinking darker thoughts, the stack of cereal boxes you're putting away gets knocked down from beside your feet. you close your eyes and try to breathe slowly. it's been a long fuckin' day.
"i'm so sorry," the voice that calls out makes you open your eyes immediately. it's her. "i didn't see you."
bullshit, you think. it almost makes you laugh.
"you know you're not supposed to be in here." you reply, gathering the fallen boxes and sitting them back up on your opposite side. she shifts on her feet and you can't help but stare at her exposed ankles. you blink hard and crane your neck up at her where she stands before you. "don't make me call security on you."
"please, we both know they can't lay a hand on me." her tone is sarcastic and teasing, and she looks away from you to glance at a bag of cereal on the shelf and taps her fingers on it. "i wouldn't be mad if you were the one to drag me out, though."
her eyes light up at the thought of your hands touching her arms as you drag her out.
"look," you huff, getting up off the floor and to your feet. "you're gonna get me fired if you keep coming in here. my manager's pissed."
"don't worry, i wouldn't let that happen."
you furrow your brows at what she means by that but roll your eyes.
"besides, i came here to ask you something." lottie raises her hand when you go to open your mouth to tell her off, and she finds herself smiling when you obey immediately. "a trade-off."
you lean on your other foot and cross your arms, looking her up and down. you're curious. you nod for her to continue.
"come with me to my motel and i'll leave you alone forever. you have my word." she smiles at you and crosses her heart, holding your gaze with an intense stare.
forever? why are you upset about forever? and why do you not buy her obvious lie?
"and i'm just supposed to believe you? one fuck and you're just gonna walk away?" you scoff at her.
she nods and leans in some, her perfume hitting your nose and making you dizzy. lottie licks her lips and softens her eyes. "i'm gonna be going away soon. i want my last night here to be with you. making love to you. or fucking you, if that's what you want."
you make some sort of choking laugh sound at her boldness and scratch at your neck awkwardly, staring at the letters on the cereal box and trying to make up your mind.
"are you serious?" you ask, frowning when she nods. "where are you going?"
"is that a yes?" she smirks, balling up her fists excitedly.
you let out a tiny sigh and roll your eyes, smiling lightly as you nod. "yes. but it better be a nice fucking motel."
· · 𐂂 · ·
you end up giving lottie your contact information so she can call you later to pick you up. you're pretty sure she already had it though and she was just covering her ass. you've gotten too many "you looked pretty today" texts to assume otherwise. you start to regret it halfway through your shift when she won't stop blowing your phone up. you're excited when you go to check your phone for the time and see some notifications, only to find out they're all from lottie.
all 17 of them.
and lottie, who kept her word and left the lot, is patiently waiting by the motel where she said she'd uber you to. her body itches to go back and watch you through her car, but she has your security work cameras she hacked into to keep her from doing so. her fingers cradle your face through her screen as she watches on her phone, stomach bubbling with excitement as she waits for tonight.
when it's time to clock out, you wait outside the store and mumble to yourself as you check your phone for the uber lottie sent. should be here any second... you look up and sigh, gulping when you spot the car pull into the parking lot. you're so nervous and excited it feels like you're floating. nervous because you have no idea if lottie's being truthful. she could be taking you to her house to murder you and you'd have no idea. excited because you have no idea. it's a thrill.
the uber ride is silent and you thank god lottie's constantly texting you so you have something to busy yourself with. you arrive at some busy street and furrow your brows. this isn't the motel... leaning forward, you speak up to the driver. "uh, sorry, but i'm supposed to be at some motel."
he hums and swipes his finger against the map on his phone, not even doing or looking for anything. "no. this is where the drop-off location is."
you glance at your phone again, another notification from lottie popping up.
lottie: Are you here yet?
you thank the driver and get out, eyes scanning the busy crowd in search of lottie. it's so overwhelming as people push past and talk loudly next to you. you almost give up until you feel your phone buzz, looking down to see that lottie's calling you. you sigh with relief and pick up, still looking all over the place to see if you can spot her.
"where are you?" you both say.
"i'm waving. can you see me?" lottie's voice booms through the speaker and you grimace, holding it away from your ear as you look around. "i'm by some construction people."
suddenly, you see that big fur coat. you nod like she can see it and laugh at yourself before giving her a verbal answer. once you two spot each other, she smiles so big you can see it even though she's like a blob from where she is. she saunters toward you while you take your time and shuffle your feet, suddenly looking at her in a whole new light.
you're about to fuck your stalker.
and you like the thought of it.
you always thought of her as beautiful, but you couldn't stand how invasive she was. her attractiveness was offset by how often you got in trouble at work because of her, and you started resenting her a little bit. but you won't lie; a part deep inside of you always wished she would've tried something with you.
oh, if you only knew how often she'd break into your house....
she tells you that she wanted to walk with you over to the motel to spend more time with you. you find yourself endeared. she's quiet for once as you walk next to her, her fingers ever so often brushing against yours like she wants to hold your hand. her furry coat rubs against your arms as she tries to get closer, and you can't help but grin.
lottie leads you to her motel room, which by the way, is indeed a fancy as fuck place, and you shuffle inside. you look around in awe at the decoration and amount of space in here. damn, you could live here. when you turn around, lottie's got her coat off and is just in her beige dress. you flush and rake your eyes down her body, taking in the curves of her hips and the length of her long legs. your eyes snap back to her face when her legs move forward, and you slowly back up against the bed. you've nowhere to go when she corners you, and you fall back onto your ass, hands gripping the sheets on either side of you. she's breathing unevenly as she stares down at you, and your eyes fall to her rising chest. her nipples are poking through her dress and your mouth opens on its own as you think about getting to see them.
"you're so handsome." lottie mumbles, her hand stroking your cheek. her thumb swipes your bottom lip, cooing when you kiss it. her index finger traces your lips and slowly slips inside your mouth. it's slender and long, and you gag a little bit when she presses her finger flat against your tongue.
she huffs with a smile and her thumb taps your chin, signaling for you to open your mouth. she takes her finger out slowly and has to close your jaw for you, and she chuckles at how stunned you are.
"have you ever been with an older woman before?" she asks, bending slightly to hike her dress up with one hand, pushing you back with another.
your mouth goes dry at the sight of her bare thighs, and you let out the most embarrassing noise as she settles on top of your lap. all you can do is shake your head no. her breath hits your face and you don't know where to look. her eyes? her lips? the freckle on her nose? you're thinking too hard. and too much. you need to loosen up.
you swallow down your nerves and touch her thighs, slipping your hands under the fabric of her dress until you grab her hips. you pull her closer, biting your lip to conceal a groan as she starts grinding on your lap. the lacy material of her panties rubs against your thigh, making your clit throb as you begin to feel how wet she's getting.
your eyes droop in hunger, your head rolling forward as you ghost your lips over hers and pant desperately. she meets you halfway and completes the kiss, her tongue slipping into your mouth and clashing with yours. her hand wraps around your neck and drags you down until you're flat against the mattress, holding you down with her hips and continuing to hump against your lap.
"i want to taste you. take your clothes off for me." she whispers against your lips, hands greedily pulling at your shirt to get you to hurry in doing so. she scoots off and allows you to undress while she does the same, throwing her dress off to the side and watching you with hungry eyes as you fumble with your boxers.
it's hard to concentrate on kicking them off when lottie's glistening pussy is now in your view, her bush making your brain fully malfunction. jesus, she's perfect. you want to speak up and ask if you can taste her first as she walks toward you again, impatiently yanking the rest of your boxers off your legs, but she's settled in between your legs with her nails digging possessively into your sides before you can open your mouth.
there's a twinkle in her eyes as she peers up at you from down there, and you wouldn't have heard it if you weren't holding in a bated breath, but you hear her sniff your arousal. you're so turned on by it that you close your eyes and let out a low groan, your stomach doing flips as she leans in closer and closer until her lips attach to your needy clit.
"oh, fuck," your body melts back against the mattress at the contact, and you tangle your hands through her dark hair to push her closer. she sucks harshly before pulling away, teeth scraping lightly against your clit as she does so. "shit, lottie."
"let me have you all night? i'll pay for your ride home in the morning, just let me fuck you until you pass out." she pleads, hands kneading your stomach as she presses hot, open-mouthed kisses against your thigh.
· · 𐂂 · ·
when you wake up in the morning, missing lottie's touch, you reach over the stand-in lottie pillow she put in your arms before she left and grab your phone from the nightstand. you scroll through your phone's contacts until you reach her name and hover your finger over the screen. should you? you decide that, yes, you should, and press the call button, swallowing down any nerves you have.
the wait feels like forever and your stomach starts to hurt as you listen to the rings. you sit up straight when you hear a beep followed by the words, "we're sorry, you have reached a number that has been disconnected or is no longer in service." your heart pounds fast and your body sweats.
what the fuck? it must be a mistake.
you wipe your brow and look down at your phone, ending the call and hopping up from the bed. you call her again but it's the same message. was she actually leaving like she said she was and disconnected her phone? but why?
you look around the room for any sort of sign that she could still be here, but all her things are gone. you check the bathroom and even head down to the lobby to see if she might've gotten hungry and gone down for breakfast. she's not in either of those places. the receptionist didn't even see her leave.
you trudge back to the room, upset that you didn't even get to say goodbye. it's silly, you think. you barely even knew her other than the fact that she was stalking you for some reason, but you miss her. you're going to miss her. hell, you'll even miss her at work. at least your manager will be happy.
the room feels suffocating now that you're alone in it, and you look around once again, scanning for anything you might've missed. your eyes narrow when you notice there's a piece of paper on one of the nightstands. it's her handwriting, you know because of the pile of her letters in your drawer back at home, and it says:
i hope this will be enough for you. i've enjoyed our time together. - charlotte ꨄ
you feel another piece of paper underneath the letter, and when you reveal it, your eyes almost pop out of your head.
it's a check for fifty grand.

Weeks.
It's been weeks since she had seen Matt and given him a blowjob. He had accepted his reward of taking her out on a date, but now it seemed like he was avoiding her.
Which was partially true.
As always, he was focused on his studies, especially with finals coming up. He stayed cooped up in his room or in the library, taking notes on top of notes. Passing all his tests was one of the only things on his mind, the other being her.
He wasn't trying to avoid her on purpose, but he will admit he's been milking the studying excuse.
It wasn't that he didn't like her, he was infatuated with her. It was just the fact the she was...well, her.
Everything about her was intimidating to him, the way she carried herself, the way she smiled, the way she squinted her eyes when she was up to no good.
She was a force to be reckoned with, and she knew it too.
So here she was, gathering the bags of takeout and other things, leaving her apartment with one thing on her mind.
Matt.
She doesn't take the elevator, knowing that the stairs would be quicker, and she's right.
Soon, she's standing in front of Matt's door, a determined look on her face. She knocks twice and waits impatiently for the door to open.
Unfortunately for her, it doesn't. She huffs and knocks again, but this time louder, the impatience she's feeling only getting stronger. Soon, she hears the muffled sound of cursing and some movement before the door opens.
" Hell-" Matt's breath catches in his throat as he sees her in all her glory. His eyes widen, and he fixes his glasses, looking off to the side.
"H-Hey what are you-" She ignores him and pushes her way into the apartment, looking around for a few seconds before setting her items down on the coffee table.
"Alright Matthew, let's talk." The tone of her voice makes him look down at the floor.
"You have been avoiding me, I don't know why, but you have, and to be honest, I don't like it. So what's your issue?"
He scoffs softly and crosses his arms, looking like a scolded child.
"M'not avoiding you..." He trails off, knowing good and well that he's lying. She stands in front of him and tilts her head, not believing him for a second. " Oh really? You're not avoiding me? Fine then, guess I'll go tell someone else that they wo-No!" He shouts unexpectedly. A small smirk makes its way onto her face as he watches him fidget anxiously.
"I-I'm sorry ok? I just....Like I said, you make me nervous, and then finals are starting, so I've just been everywhere... I-I didn't mean to make you feel bad o-or anything." Her smirk drops as she realizes this runs deeper than him simply avoiding her.
He truly was scared and nervous; this was all new to him, and he didn't know how to navigate it, and finals coming up wasn't helping him at all.
She softens her demeanor as he continues on, rambling in an attempt to clear the air. "I-I do want to take you on a date...I just don't want to disappoint you o-or embarrass myself..." She wasn't dumb, she could read between the lines.
He didn't want to disappoint her sexually.
"Matt....You don't have to worry about th-"
"Ok but it is something to worry about! I'm 21, and I've never done anything remotely sexual! All I do is stay to myself and study! I might as well be called a loser! hell, maybe even an incel!"
She stares at him with a straight face, "Matt-"
"And then here you are, the most experienced person I've met, the most prettiest girl, and yet I'm being a pussy and won't even take you out on a date! I'm fumbling! Hard! If this were a test, I'd fail!"
She finds herself smiling softly at his academic analogies.
"Are you done?" She asks him once he finally stops talking. He huffs and adjusts his glasses, running a hand through his hair. "Good. Now shut up and listen to me." She takes a step closer to him, his breath hitching.
"I don't care about any of that, ok? I don't care that you're a virgin and that I was the first girl to hear you moan." His cheeks flush a soft pink, his palms getting sweaty.
"What I care about is a boy that I find cute, sexual feelings aside, won't take me out on a date.....Now, I got takeout and a Lego set I'm not building alone. Do you want to join, take a break from studying?"
So there they were in Matt's living room, giggling and building a Lego set, the empty boxes of takeout discarded on the coffee table. The tension once in Matt's shoulder had disappeared, now knowing nothing was expected of him, and she wasn't worried about any of that.
He was able to relax, slowly coming out of his shell. She enjoyed his company, his witty remarks, his dad jokes, and the way he laughed. She was getting to know more about him and his life.
He was a good person to be around.
"I don't know where the piece goes!" He grunts in frustration as he tries to shove the Lego piece against another. She chuckles and snatches the instructions off the floor and holds them up. "This is why we have instructions, but no, you're too good for instructions.'' she teases.
He looks at her with a face of mock annoyance, "I'll have you know I've built multiple Lego sets with no instructions!" He points towards the various sets displayed around his apartment.
"Ok well, clearly your no instructions streak is over." Matt huffs and snatches the instruction from her grasp, shooting her a sharp look when he hears her snickering. He looks down at the small words and begins to read them, his eyes darting across the page as his tongue pokes out in concentration. As he does so, she takes the time to really examine him.
He had on a white thermal along with some grey sweatpants, his hair was a bit messy from how many times he ran his fingers through it, and he just looked
good.
"I think I got it!" His shouts of excitement brought her out of her daze, her eyes trailing down to the paper pamphlet falling to the floor. She sits on her knees and moves closer, their faces side by side as he puts the Lego piece in its correct spot. His hands moved quickly as he put the other parts together, his body bouncing in excitement.
It doesn't take long for the display to be finished, Matt's head whipping towards her.
"Done! Told you I didn't need the-" His words trail off once he realizes how close she is. She feels his body tense and his breath hitch, his eyes darting between her lips and eyes.
She quickly takes notice, the corners of her mouth twitching gently.
"Do you wanna kiss me?"
Her voice comes out in a teasing whisper, her eyes taunting him. He gives a slight nod, his tongue darting out to lick his dry lips.
"Y-yeah...."
"Then kiss me."
It's cute to her how scared he was, the way he slowly leaned forward and softly placed his lips against hers. She hums and stops him from pulling away, deepening the kiss and taking full control, allowing her tongue to enter his mouth. She pushes him back against the bottom of the couch and climbs into his lap, pressing her chest against his.
She giggles softly feeling his cock begin to harden underneath her, the tent growing bigger and bigger. She grinds against him, enjoying the way he whimpers softly.
She goes to pull his pants down, but he quickly grabs her hands, stopping it from going further.
"W-wait wait! I-I'm sorry, I umm-" He clears his throat as he pulls away from the kiss, his breathing ragged.
"Hey hey-" She caresses his face and chest gently, trying to calm him down. "What are you saying sorry for? We don't have to do anything you don't want to."
"I-I want to I just...." His face turns beet red as he thinks about him being a virgin. He knew that she already knows this information, but having to say it out loud, the thought, It was just embarrassing for him.
"I know, that doesn't bother me Matt."
"I-It doesn't?" He was confused, why would it not bother her? Why isn't it bothering her? Don't girls want a guy who knows what he's doing in the bedroom?
She smiles and plants her lips against his once more, " Nope-" she trails a few kisses up to his ear before whispering,
"- It's the perfect way to teach you what I like."
He can't help the groan that leaves his mouth, the thought of her morphing him into her perfect plaything, her teaching him how to please her....He loved it.
He slowly lets go of her wrists and allows her to pull his sweatpants off along with his boxers. She wastes no time, wrapping her hand around him and slowly jerking him off. He sighs out, the stress and tension in his body fading away with every stroke.
Her thumb swipes over his tip, his lips parting slightly. Her hand felt better than his, it was so soft, smaller than his own.
He's embarrassed with how quick his balls tighten, his dick twitching in her grasp. He was close to cuming, and that's not what she wanted.
She pulls her hand away and moves back, pulling her own pants and underwear off. She settles back down in his lap, grinding their bodies together. Her bare and wet cunt only provide him with more pleasure, his breathing speeding up rapidly.
"Gonna let me ride you?" She asks breathlessly, her own pleasure rising due to his tip nudging her cunt repeatedly. He finds himself nodding eagerly, too excited and lost in pleasure to form a complete sentence.
She smiles and crashes their lips together once more. She situates herself on top of him, lining his tip up with her entrance before sinking down.
It's always the slip-in that gets her.
Her head falls onto his shoulder as his head tilts back onto to couch cushions, her thighs quivering at the stretch.
He was perfect, just as she had thought. He stretched her out just right, filling her up to the point where she found it hard to breathe.
This was a new and exciting feeling for him, it took everything in him not to cum on the spot. Her spongy, wet, and warm walls felt different from the ones inside her mouth, and he didn't know which ones he liked better.
She begins to move back and forth, grinding against him before starting to bounce up and down. Her soft and pretty moans flow through the apartment, making it harder for Matt to think straight. She was like a siren, clouding his mind with her sweet melodic songs, luring him to the ocean for his death.
His hands stay limp at his sides, his fingers twitching as they itch to touch her.
But he was scared, scared that if he did touch her, she'd disappear, and he'd wake up thinking this was all a dream.
"Fffuck Matt, s-so big!" She pants in his ear, her arms wrapped around his neck as she continues to bounce on him.
Her thighs and calves quickly become tired, a pout forming on her face as she looks at him, begging him to help and touch her.
"T-touch me Matt - Shit!- P-please!"
He couldn't say no to that face, he'd be dumb if he did.
So he finally caves, wrapping his arms around her like a bear and helping her keep up with her own movements. He adjusts his legs so they are propped up, and gently begins to buck his hips, meeting her every time she lands on his lap.
She gasps as he hits that special spot deep inside of her, her orgasm getting closer and closer. Their lips connect once more, their tongues messily fighting and their teeth clashing.
He holds her tightly, his fingernails digging into her skin, leaving small indents.
He needed to be closer.
Without a second thought, he removes her shirt, her breast falling free and bouncing in his face. He doesn't know what came over him, but neither of them was complaining.
She throws her head back as he takes one of her nipples into his mouth, and fondles the other. He sucks gently, using his teeth to gently nibble on the skin.
He moans in delight, his eyes closing, his glasses lopsided as he finally gets to experience all that he's been waiting for.
"Shi-it! S-so close, please please please, don't stop!" She begs, urging him to push her over the edge. He follows her directions, not changing anything he's doing, and continuing to pleasure her.
He feels his own orgasm approaching, his whimpers turning into loud and deep moans.
"Fuck, pl-Oh god! M-mommy!" He didn't even realize he said it, but she heard it loud and clear, and it was just enough to push her over the edge.
She moans loudly and falls against his chest, her juices trickling out and down his shaft. The feeling of her walls clamping down on him repeatedly was enough to make him follow her lead, hot spurts of cum painting her insides.
They lay against the couch, the both of them panting softly, still wrapped in each other's embrace. She slowly peels her body away from his and smiles at his flushed cheeks and dazed expression.
"W-was it good?" He asks in between labored breaths, his nerves clear as day. It was obvious he was eager to please her, wanting to hear her praises and words of reassurance.
"You were perfect pretty boy......Can you handle another round?"

ᴀᴛᴛᴇɴᴛɪᴏɴ - ᴍᴀᴛᴛ ꜱᴛᴜʀɴɪᴏʟᴏ

summary: matts been so busy with his filming schedule, that when he comes home you're basically begging for his touch for almost an hour, he finally gives in.
contains: smut, fingering, needy reader, softdom!Matt, swearing, small argument, crying.
--------------------└── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──┘----------———
matt and I have been dating for almost a year, and in the past few months, he's been so busy to the point where I've just been hanging out at his house during the day, today is one of those days. I've been touch-deprived bed rotting in Matt's room.
the front door unlocks with a bang from downstairs, i sit up in matts bed, the blankets slowly falling off my chest. "matt!?" i call out, rubbing my face.
"hey baby", matt says while walking into the room, his voice is low and croaky. he doesnt even look my way as he slumps down on his desk chair.
he throws on his headphones, instantly starting to edit the Wednesday video.
"for fucks sake." i groan quietly, throwing my head back down into the pillows.
"matt." i whine, he looks over his shoulder at me "mm?" he says, his long fingers resting on the keyboard.
"i need you.." i say, maintaining eye contact with him.
he nods, turning back around to his computer, starting to edit again.
its not even been 10 minutes before my mouth is opening again.
"matthew."
"sweetheart what is it."he says, pulling his headphones off and spinning his chair back around to face the bed.
i pout my lips, "please come here, you can edit tommorow."
"i told you it'll be a while, i know your upset but this is very important." he says in a tone that reminds me of my childhood, hes acting like my dad.
"so more important than me then hm?" i roll my eyes.
"don't be silly." he replies.
-
45 minutes later
11:29pm
i've been laying in matts sheet for almost an hour while hes been editing, hes stopped replying to me everytime i say his name now.
i let out a dramatic sigh, which of course matt pays no attention to.
"for fucks sake matt!" i raise my voice, sitting up in bed.
"what. literally what." he says, slamming his headphones down into the desk.
"look, should i even be here? should i even be with you? you've quite literally payed no attention to me for like 3 months?! am i just a fuck toy now or what."
his eyes widen "oh please." he scoffs in disbelief, he head shaking in shock.
i stay silent, i need to have a proper conversation with him for once.
he powers off his computer before standing up abrubtly. he almost stomps over to the bed before laying down next to me. "happy?" he asks, his voice monotone.
"no, im fucking not matt." i say, my voice breaking followed by a sob.
i see matts head snap round to look at me, his eyes squinting.
"are you crying- shit.. wait."
i hide my face in my hands while matt sits up, he lets out a shaky breath.
"oh fuck no please don't cry" he says, placing a hand on the side of my face. "look at me, look at me y/n." matt says sternly.
i slowly peel my hands away from my face, tears now streaming down my cheeks. matts face is painted with guilt and concern.
"sit up." he says, which i do.
he grabs both sides of my face
"i love you so fucking much, you know that." matt says softly, staring into my eyes.
i shake my head "i'm not sure i know that anymore." i sniff.
matts jaw drops slightly, a silence filling the room.
"no, no nope. please don't ever say that." he starts.
"i am insanely grateful for you, work has been piling up like crazy and i know, i know i haven't had time for other people but once i get my yesterday's problem launched everything will be calm."
i hear the front door open from downstairs, chris and nicks chatter getting louder as they walk upstairs, but matt doesn't even bat an eye as he keeps rambling on.
"you're my favorite person ever, and i know i've been a proper dick these past weeks, but tommorow i have a day off, and if you would want we could go out, or-.. just lay here the whole day i really dont mind."
i wipe my eyes, leaning foward and grabbing matts jaw, pulling him into a passionate kiss.
we both pull away to catch our breath "can i do anything for you right now? to make you feel better.." matt says gentley, playing with my hair.
i nod, "just one thing.."
he nods, "yeah?" he smiles sweetly at me.
"i don't wanna say itt.." i say, my cheeks turning red
he lets out a small laugh, “it can’t be that bad"
i grab his hand, rings decorating his pinky finger, his pointer and his thumb.
i push down all of his fingers execpt for two, the ring finger and middle finger.
matt nods understandingly “yeah?”
“yeah..” i say back.
“you’ve got to tell me with your words gorgeous.”
“i need your fingers.” i reply
“where do you need them?” he teases back.
“in.. me?”
“there you go.” matt says, a smile spread across his face.
i lay back down in the sheets, peeling my shirt off my body. matt lays down too, “can you lay on your side for me?” he says, which i do.
he turns onto his side aswell, grabbing my waist and pulling me towards his body, my bare back pressed against the soft fabric of his shirt covering his torso.
he spoons me as his hand, which is decorated in rings, snakes round to the waist band of my pyjama shorts.
i feel his chest rise and fall against my back as his hand slowly pulls down the shorts to my knees.
matt traces random shapes up the inside of my thigh, slowly getting towards where i need him most.
a pathetic moan escapes my mouth as the cold metal of his ring grazes past my hole.
i haven’t been touched in so long that the smallest touch is embarrassingly driving me crazy.
“please.” i groan out, earning a small chuckle from matt into the back of my hair.
i look down at matts hand, which is resting on my pelvic bone.
"matt please-" i start but he cuts me off "i know, can you be nice and quiet for me? chris and nick are across the hall."
i nod "yes- yeah" i instantly reply.
his two fingers dip down to my clit, he rubs it slowly, barely applying pressure.
his elbow rests on my hip as his fingers pick up the pace, i feel matts breaths from behind me as i reverse back into him more, my back and ass fully pressed against matts chest and crotch.
i feel one of his fingers push against my entrance before he presses fully inside of me, his long finger filling me up. "fuck.." i say softly.
the feeling from matt ive been craving all day is turning me into a moaning mess.
he quickly adds his second finger, curling both of them inside of me. i grip the bedsheets in front of me as he repeatedly hits my g-spot.
i slam a hand over my mouth as i feel the knot in my stomach build up.
the fact i have to be quiet is making this 10 times hotter due to the fact matt usually lets me be as loud as i need to be, which is always loud.
"god 'feel so good around my fingers." matt says, his voice hoarse from behind me.
that'll do it
the knot in my stomach snaps, my hand thats on my mouth falls down into the mattress, gripping the sheets, "fuck matt oh my god!" i scream out, clenching around his fingers.
i feel matts breaths hitch against my back, he instantly pulls his fingers out of me and covers my mouth. "shh, shush" he laughs slightly.
i catch my breath slowly as matts hands keep on my mouth.
i roll over onto my back, matts still laying on his side.
"gross" i smile, "oh shit- yeah." matt says, taking the hand which was just inside me off my mouth.
i cuddle up next to him "thank you" i whisper as i pull up the blankets.
"no- no thank you for forgiving me" he says, rubbing my arms softly.
my eyelids feel heavy, somehow tired after doing nothing all day. matts tense underneath me, i assume hes just mad at himself about earlier but then the realization hits me that hes just fingered me for a few minutes without getting anything back.
"matt" i say, sitting up and pulling the blankets down. "what?" matt says, running a hand through his hair.
i point to his sweatpants, that have a very obvious tent.
"you're hard! why didn't you tell me i could've helped?" i say, reaching for his waistband.
matt grabs my wrist, stopping me "no- no its okay, i don't want you to have to do anything for me after i've been shitty to you."
"thats gotta hurt matt cmon, its okay." i laugh slightly, resisting matts grip on my wrist.
"no, no go to sleep sweetheart it'll go away in like 5 minutes." he says with a smile, pulling the blanket back up over us and playing with my hair.
i sigh "are you sure, i dont mind helping-" he cuts me off "im sure, get some rest."
-
10 minutes later.
i sit up in bed after hearing the bathroom door slam shut. matts no longer next to me.
my eyebrows scrunch as i stand up out of bed, stumbling over to the bedroom door and opening it.
i walk down the corrider to nicks room, i open it to find him fast asleep with chris on their beanbag.
i shut their door, walking over to the bathroom door.
i slowly push it open to find matt standing over the toilet, his eyes shut and head thrown back as he repetedy runs his ringed hand up and down his length quickly.
"oh-"
matts eyes open and his head swings round to look at me "what are you doing!" he says, frantically pulling up his sweatpants.
"im sorry im sorry!" i say, slamming the bathroom door shut.
i hear the water run before matt walks out of the bathroom only a few seconds later, his cheeks are a deep red and he has small droplets of sweat on his forehead.
he smiles at me awkwardly but i instantly grab his shoulders and spin him round.
"matthew go finish up in there, you've been hard for almost half an hour."
"o-okay yep thank you." he replies instantly, speed-walking back into the bathroom eagerly, slamming the door shut behind him.

@hysteria-things
── ⟡˙ ̟ KICKING off your shoes, you walked up to you and matt's room. the soft sound of the bed gently and repetitively squeaking echoed out into the hallway. but yet, you didn't think much of it.
walking into the bedroom, you begin to call out matt's name but quickly stop yourself.
your eyes widen, and your mouth falls agape.
matt's fully clothed, on the bed. his face is pressed into the pillow, his eyes squeezed shut as soft moans and whimpers spill from his lips. you watch as his hips rut into a pillow between his thighs.
his legs are trembling, and his mouth grows wider as he visibly reaches his climax. your name falls off his tongue, sending a shiver down your spine.
"matt?" you mumbled, dropping your coat on the floor, keeping your eyes on the dopey boy in your bed.
he moaned, eyes slightly opening, but he doesn't stop his movements. keeping his eyes glued to yours.
you feel frozen in your tracks, watching matt fuck himself into your pillow.
"fuck..." his voice trails off, his hips shaking as he reaches his high. he looked as if he could care less that you were watching him, and honestly, neither could you.
the sight of your boyfriend getting off to your scent on a pillow cover, leaves a pool in your panties. you subconsciously begin rubbing your thighs together, basking in the deep groans elicited from the brunette.
"matt..." you whispered again, seemingly not able to say anything more.
his hips rutted for the last time, and he collapses onto the bed. watching you carefully. his eyes enticed you, dragging your towards the bed. your feet had a mind of their own, gliding you in his direction.
he sat up, meeting your eyes again. a visible wet spot right on his crotch. he pulls down his zipper, "fuck y/n..." he groaned. "you ruined my boxers, baby."
the way his raspy voice echoes in your ears had you eager to pull your clothes off quickly. you were stripped down to your panties and bra in seconds, finding yourself being pulled on the bed.
matt straddled over you, lips ghosting yours. his breath tickled your skin, and you desperately pulled him into a kiss. it was sloppy, but it had you fiending for more.
he pulled his jeans down, his clothed crotch rubbing against your skin. he slowly began to grind down on your heat, the cotton grazing your clit perfectly.
you let him snake his hands around your body, unclipping your bra, and slides it down your arms. discarding it on the floor.
he drags down your body, leaving wet kisses along your neck and chest. meeting your eyes as he flicks his tongue over one of your nipples. he continues down your body, stopping once he gets between your thighs. his eyes bore into yours as he grazes your abdomen with his teeth.
"so, so wet," he mumbles, licking a strip along your panties. "all this because you ruined my alone time, hm?"
matt hooked a finger around the soft fabric, "i was enjoying myself you know? thinking 'bout you and your perfect body." he mumbles, slowly pulling your panties down, fueling you with a rush of adrenaline. "but then, you just had to walk in."
he cuts himself off, suddenly attaching his mouth to your clit. you moan, hugging your thighs tightly around his head. you squeeze your eyes shut, his fingers grazing through your dripping folds.
"fuck, matt-" you hissed, dropping your head back. your boyfriend dipping two of his fingers into your core.
"feels good, huh?" he groans against your core. slowly beginning to grind into the bed beneath him. "taste so good for m' baby."
your hands curl through his hair, fingers tangling themselves in the coffee colored strands. he was grinding deep and hard into the comforter, the pleasure he was giving you was driving him insane himself. wanting nothing more than for you to cum on his face.
incoherent mumbles trailed off his tongue as he tried to talk you through it, but he was close to his second orgasm, and couldn't get out any more than soft whines.
easily, you returned the movements. grinding against his hand and nose like a dog in heat. his pace didn't seem to be fast enough for you as his own orgasm made his brain go hazy. his actions growing sloppy as his mouth hung wide against your pussy, his fingers doing all the work at this point.
your legs began to shake as you hooked your ankles at the base of matts back, reaching your high. "matt! oh my god~!" you cried, releasing onto his tongue.
matt buried his face against your thigh, grinding into the bed faster then earlier. hips rutting as he came, staining his boxers for the second time tonight.

Tumblr media
matthew bernard sturniolo.
god, you couldn’t stand the man. but looking at him now, his life a complete mess, there was nothing sweeter. and the best part? it was all because of you.
four years ago, the two of you were in high school. you and matt had this sort of relationship where you did practically everything like a couple—going on dates, giving gifts, whispering sweet nothings to each other, cuddling, kissing, the pda, fucking—but you were never actually official. matt didn’t do labels until he was sure. and you, like the naive girl you were, went right along with it, telling him you’d wait until he was ready.
he had promised you the world, swore up and down that you were the only one who truly understood him. it’s you and me against the world, baby. one day, i’m gonna marry you, you know that? but they were all lies. lies, lies, lies. the only thing that high school failure was good at was lying—and making it sound so convincing. and you? you had been dumb enough to believe every word.
when you two graduated, he left for la to pursue youtube with his brothers, and naturally, he fed you more lies. baby, i’ll come visit you every few months. we’ll call and text every single day, i swear. i’d never leave you, you know that, right? i love you.
it still astonished you how easily those words had slipped from his lips, how effortlessly he could say them without meaning a damn thing. but the saddest part? you ate it all up like a starving man who hadn’t eaten in years. you believed every single word because—why wouldn’t you? he was the love of your life.
for a while after the move, you and matt stayed in touch, talking almost every second. ten-hour calls, facetime marathons, endless text messages—the works. but slowly, you noticed the shift. he started withdrawing, calling less, ending conversations quicker, taking longer to reply—or not replying at all. when he did, it was just to blow you off. i’m busy. shit, sorry, next time. and you bought it. of course you did. he had just moved to la, and being an influencer wasn’t easy. you gave him the benefit of the doubt.  that was—until he just stopped. he never replied. all calls and texts went unanswered. he had ghosted you.
you were left utterly broken. he had promised you so, so much. you two were supposed to spend the rest of your lives together. you were supposed to be endgame.
but the wallowing didn’t last long.
one day, you opened instagram to find a post—matt shamelessly making out with some girl at a party. a flood of emotions hit you all at once. sadness, confusion, hurt, betrayal. but most of all—anger.
how could you have been so blind? you gave him everything. your time, your trust, your heart. and he threw it all away like it was nothing.
you weren’t going to let it slide.
so you started planning.
now, four years later, you executed it perfectly. it wasn’t easy—oh no, it was tedious. every step had to work seamlessly for the next to fall into place. one wrong move and the entire plan would collapse.
and what plan exactly?
well, in theory, it was a very simple nine-phase plan. you didn’t even mean for the tenth phase to happen, but it did.
phase one: move to la
this was easy. you had finished college with a degree in fashion marketing, and job offers from la weren’t exactly uncommon. all you had to do was pick the highest-paying, most reputable one, and you were on your way.
you settled into the city faster than you expected. the air was thick with ambition, the streets buzzing with influencers and socialites desperate to be seen. it was a world fueled by image, where clout mattered more than character. and if you played your cards right, it was a world where you could thrive.
phase one: complete
phase two: befriend an influencer (preferably one with connections to matt, preferably tara yummy)
why tara yummy? simple. she threw some of the biggest parties in la, meaning tons of other influencers—some of whom could have connections to matt—would be there.
befriending tara? well, that was a process. you had to admit, you stooped to some pretty unethical and borderline pathetic measures to make it happen. and all for what? revenge on a boy. pathetic.
still, you stalked her obsessively, tracking where she would be and when. you knew her schedule for every day of the week—surprising, right? like, tara yummy having an actual schedule? technically, no. but she did go to the same coffee shop every day at exactly 12:43 p.m.
why 12:43? who the fuck cares? as long as you could follow her to her next location, you were fine with whatever time she picked for her little coffee rendezvous.
saturday, february 15, 12:42 p.m.
you were parked outside the coffee shop, drumming your fingers against the steering wheel, the hum of the engine filling the silence. your eyes flickered to the time on your phone.
what if she decided to go somewhere else today? what if something came up? had you picked the wrong day?
then, at exactly 12:44, you spotted her—rushing inside, her oversized sunglasses perched on her nose, phone in one hand, car keys in the other.
you let out a breath you hadn’t even realized you were holding, watching as she ordered her iced oat milk shaken espresso with one pump white mocha, one pump caramel, light cinnamon powder, and vanilla sweet cream cold foam. (don’t ask.)
when she finally got her coffee and walked out, you turned on your car, keeping an eye on her as she made her way back to hers. now, all that was left was to follow her—hopefully to somewhere public where "accidentally" running into her wouldn’t be suspicious.
you waited a few moments before pulling out behind her, keeping a safe distance—close enough to track her, but not close enough to look like you were tailing her.
she drove for about ten minutes before pulling into target’s parking lot.
your eyes lit up almost instantly. perfect.
you parked a few spots away on the opposite side, ensuring a clear view of her. watching carefully, you waited until she stepped out of her car and started toward the entrance before making your move.
inside, you immediately noticed—no basket.
an idea formed in your head.
you trailed behind her, watching as she browsed the aisles, picking up items—a blanket, a book, some makeup, shampoo, conditioner—until her hands were completely full. she stumbled a bit, dropping things occasionally.
this was it. your chance.
you turned down an aisle, walking toward her while she unknowingly walked in your direction. just as you neared her, you looked down at your phone—pretending not to see her—before crashing right into her.
her things tumbled to the floor, and you let your phone slip from your hands for added effect.
"oh my god! i-i’m so sorry, are you okay?" you asked, putting on the best fake concerned voice you could.
she looked up at you and smiled. "yeah, no, i’m okay. how about you?"
"i-i’m fine, don’t worry about me. i’m so, so sorry again. i should’ve been paying attention."
"hey, no, don’t be sorry. it wasn’t really your fault. hell, it wasn’t really either of our faults," she said, laughing as she bent down to pick up her stuff. but you beat her to it.
"no, here, let me get that for you," you said, gathering her things. as you handed them back, you put on a puzzled expression. "wait, you don’t have a basket?"
she shook her head, and you tsked softly before placing each item into yours.
"what are you—" she began, but you cut her off.
"no, it’s okay. i didn’t really have anything in my basket anyway. it’d probably be more useful to you," you said, handing it to her.
she smiled, taking it from you. "stop, thank you so much, you’re so sweet."
"no, stop. it’s really nothing, i don’t mind," you replied, playing it off casually. then, after a brief pause, you added, "oh, and by the way, you’re like… really, really pretty."
"o.m.g. shut up. like, actually. you’re too sweet," she giggled, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
"no, i’m dead serious. you’re gorgeous."
"well, you too. like, oh god, you look like one of those really hot girls i see who just seem so unapproachable and intimidating," she mused, eyeing you up and down.
"why, thank you," you replied with the kindest smile you could muster. "sorry if this interaction is kinda awkward… i’m new to la and sort of looking to make friends." you lowered your voice a little, trying to sound just the right amount of shy.
her eyes widened, and her mouth parted slightly. "well, consider me your first friend. i’m tara."
"…cherry," you responded.
"nice to meet you, cherry. c’mon. you’ll be walking with me now," she smiled, grabbing your hand and dragging you along.
phase two: complete.
phase three: get invited to a tara event
over the next few weeks, you spent most of your time with tara, considering she was your only friend.
you went shopping together, got your nails done, hit the gym, had spa days, and she even showed you all the best clubs and bars in la. the two of you really hit it off, and it kinda made you feel bad that you were using her. kinda.
wednesday, march 5, 2:54 pm
you and tara were sitting on her bed, planning out her next big party. but this party wasn’t just any party—it was for you. she wanted to throw an event so you could branch out and meet new people because, being a loner in la? yeah, no, you weren’t going to let that happen. especially not with your plan in motion. if you stayed invisible, everything would be ruined. matt would win, and you'd lose once again.
"so, um… tara… how big is this party going to be, exactly?" you asked, carefully faking a nervous tone as you sat cross-legged on her bed, your fingers fidgeting with the hem of your shirt. you needed to convince her you were an introvert. playing that part would help you blend into the background and make it easier to focus on your real goal.
tara barely looked up from her phone, scrolling through pinterest, tapping on various pins as she pulled ideas for the event. “well, i’m inviting the usual crowd, so it won’t be too big,” she replied casually. “just enough to get the party vibes right.”
"right..." you sighed, casting a quick glance at the laptop screen, pretending to chew your lip nervously. your act was flawless, but the truth was, you weren’t anxious about being around people—you were just anxious about matt. you knew him all too well, and if he didn’t show up, everything would fall apart. matt was a big homebody, after all. if he didn’t come, you’d have a much harder time achieving your goal.
you needed to know exactly who matt would hang around at the party, and that meant focusing on his closest friends. it was a given that he'd stick close to his girlfriend, macy, but you had to make sure you pinpointed the others—the ones who would be your best shot at making things happen.
the two of you spent the rest of the day bouncing ideas around for the party. tara wanted to host it at her place, and you both decided on a theme—black, white, and a rich, dark red. it was bold, dramatic—something that would definitely make a statement.
tara had already invited a ton of people. for her, it was just another night to throw a party, another chance to be around her usual influencer crowd. but for you, this was more than just a party. this was the perfect opportunity to get closer to matt's friends and, eventually, get closer to matt himself—so you could finally tear him down.
“so, who all did you invite?” you asked, trying to sound casual, but your mind was already mentally listing off everyone who might be there.
tara smirked, eyes flicking up from her phone as she responded, “oh, you know, the usual bunch. larray, quen, carrington, jake, johnnie… some of the other la influencers. then, of course, there’s the triplets—matt, chris, and nick.”
you nodded along, your expression neutral, though internally, you were bracing yourself. you already knew the triplets, of course. but this party wasn’t about them. it was about the other people who would be there.
“that’s a lot of people,” you said, trying to keep your voice light, but your mind was already working overtime. “what’s the vibe like with everyone? how do they all mix?”
tara shrugged nonchalantly as she tapped away at her phone, her attention already shifting back to the planning. “honestly, they’re all chill. some can be a little extra—like, really extra—but nothing you can’t handle. you’ll fit right in. just make sure you make an entrance, you know?”
you gave her a knowing smile, nodding along, though your mind was elsewhere. you weren’t here to fit in. you were here to observe, to learn who matt’s closest friends were, to subtly insert yourself into their world. and then, you’d take him down. piece by piece, without him even realizing it.
this party was just the beginning.
phase three: complete
phase four: figure out just who’s in matt’s inner circle
you looked in the mirror as you fixed your hair, making sure everything was just right. the tight black dress hugged your hips in all the right places, the slit riding high enough to leave barely anything to the imagination. your hair was perfectly blown out, sleek and cascading down your back like silk. but still, something was missing.
your eyes landed on the red lipstick sitting on the vanity. you grabbed it, uncapping it with a flick of your wrist before carefully applying it to your lips. the deep, sultry shade coated them perfectly, adding just the right amount of boldness to complete the look.
perfect.
you pressed your lips together, ensuring the color was flawless. now, you were ready.
tara walked into the room, and her jaw practically hit the floor. her eyes widened as she took you in, her gaze trailing from your perfectly blown-out hair to the curve-hugging black dress and the deep red lipstick that added just the right amount of danger.
“oh my god.” her voice was barely above a whisper before it quickly turned into an excited squeal. “cherry, you look stunning! you might’ve just been my lesbian awakening because what the fuck?!?” she said, walking toward you with wide eyes.
you giggled, rolling your eyes as you turned slightly to check yourself in the mirror one last time. “oh, shut up,” you mumbled, but the slight flush on your cheeks betrayed you.
“no, no, i’m being dead serious.” she placed her hands on her hips, giving you an exaggerated once-over. “like, i cannot believe you’ve been hiding this version of you. you look gorgeous.”
“thanks, t,” you murmured softly, your lips tugging into a small, satisfied smile. but before you could revel in the compliment for too long, tara’s expression shifted.
“but,” she said, her tone a little more serious now, “i actually came up here to tell you a lot of people are here now. i know you’re not the party type, but… it’s your party. you need to come down.”
you almost laughed out loud at that. not the party type? oh, if only she knew. at least you’d done a good enough job convincing her that you were shy and reserved. it was all part of the plan.
“yeah, yeah, i know,” you mumbled, tugging your dress down ever so slightly, playing up the nervous act just a bit longer. “can… can you come with me? and maybe… stay with me? i don’t really want to be alone with so many people around.” your voice was soft, almost timid, as if the idea of walking into a crowded room made you anxious.
tara’s features softened instantly, her eyes filling with warmth as she gave you a reassuring smile. “of course i’ll stay with you,” she said, reaching out to squeeze your hand gently. “i won’t leave you alone for a single moment tonight, ‘kay?”
you nodded, offering her a small, grateful smile as you took a deep breath.
perfect.
you followed tara as she began to walk out of the room, her arm loosely linked with yours as the two of you made your way downstairs. the muffled bass of the music grew louder with each step, the sounds of laughter and conversation drifting through the hallway.
as you reached the bottom of the stairs, you scanned the room quickly, your mind already working.
the party was in full swing. influencers, tiktokers, and la’s finest were scattered everywhere, drinks in hand and smiles plastered on their faces.
but you weren’t interested in any of them.
your eyes swept the crowd, zeroing in on the people who mattered most. matt’s friends.
they weren’t hard to spot. matt—whenever he did decide to show up at events like these—always stuck close to the people he felt most comfortable with. usually, that meant nick, chris, and a couple of his closest friends. and tonight was no different.
one person caught your eye almost immediately. larray.
he was laughing, completely immersed in whatever conversation he was having. matt had never looked happier in a group of people and it was sort of like a stab to your heart but you quickly shook the feeling off, refocusing on the small group that surrounded matt. nick, chris, larray… and macy.
macy. matt’s new girlfriend.
the girl who had everything you ever wanted.
she was perched right beside him, her hand casually resting on his arm like it belonged there. she looked so comfortable, so secure in her place next to him. it made your stomach turn.
but not with sadness.
with determination.
there they were—laughing, chatting, blissfully unaware that they were about to become pawns in your little game.
but timing was everything.
you weren’t about to make your move too soon. not when there was so much at stake. so, for now, you waited.
you stuck close to tara, mingling with other guests and keeping up appearances. you laughed at jokes, smiled at compliments, and made small talk with influencers you barely cared about. to anyone watching, you looked like you were just another girl trying to blend into la’s social scene.
but your focus never strayed too far.
your eyes flicked back to matt’s group every chance you got, tracking their every move without being obvious.
nick and chris were in their usual spots, close to matt but engaged in their own conversations. larray was his usual vibrant self, effortlessly making everyone around him laugh. and macy… well, she was glued to matt’s side, just as expected.
you kept waiting, biding your time as the night dragged on.
and then, finally, it happened.
matt, nick, and chris stepped away, heading toward the backyard—probably to get some air or escape the chaos for a moment.
perfect.
your heart pounded in your chest as you took a deep breath, steadying yourself.
“tara,” you murmured softly, leaning closer so only she could hear, “i’m gonna go grab another drink. be right back.”
“want me to come with?” she asked, her eyes flickering toward the crowded bar area.
“nah,” you smiled, shaking your head. “i’ll be fine.”
she nodded, giving you an encouraging smile before turning back to her conversation.
and with that, you made your move.
your eyes locked onto larray, who was still standing near the bar, chatting and laughing with a few other people.
game on.
you made your way to the bar, grabbing some random drink that had been left unattended, and started to move toward larray. you made sure to stumble a bit, really selling the whole oops, i’m tipsy act. when you were close enough, you “tripped,” falling forward and spilling your drink all over him.
“shit. my bad. i didn’t mean to do that. i’m so sorry. are you alright?” you asked frantically, eyes darting around for anything to help. you spotted a napkin nearby and quickly handed it to him.
“yeah, i’m okay. chill, girl, damn!” he said, laughing it off as he wiped the drink off his shirt, giving you a playful side-eye.
“gosh, i’m sorry. i might be a little more drunk than i thought. i usually don’t trip over my feet like this,” you mumbled, shifting nervously.
“bitch, it’s okay. i promise, it’s not that deep. my clothes will dry.”
“yeah, i know. but i still feel bad.”
“well, don’t.” he waved you off, flashing you that bright, easy smile. “anyways, i’ve never seen you ‘round. you new here or what?”
“uh, yeah. i moved to la about a month ago for my job.”
he hummed, grabbing his drink off the table and taking a sip. “what do you do?”
“i actually work in fashion marketing.”
his eyes widened instantly, his interest clearly piqued. “wait, so like… do you get all the tea on the brands? tell me everything.”
you giggled softly, shaking your head. “sadly, not yet. i just started. but, trust me, you’ll be the first to know when they let me in on all the juicy shit.”
“you better.” he gave you a pointed look, but his grin was playful.
“cross my heart.” you smirked, making a little x over your chest.
“mm, i like you already.” he gave you a wink before glancing around the room. “but, babe, why are you stuck talking to me when there’s a whole party happening?”
“honestly?” you shrugged, flashing him a sheepish smile. “you’re the most interesting person here.”
“aww, stop it, i’m blushing.” he fanned himself dramatically, making you laugh.
“seriously, though,” he leaned in a little closer, lowering his voice, “stick with me tonight, and i’ll make sure you have fun.”
perfect.
throughout the entire night, you stayed glued to larray’s side. he was the perfect guide to la’s influencer scene, introducing you to a lot of people—some of whom you already recognized from social media. but your focus wasn’t on them.
no, your interest was piqued when he introduced you to madison and quen.
it quickly became clear to you that they were probably the closest people to matt—along with larray.
you watched closely, noting the way they spoke about him, the way they laughed at inside jokes that only came from years of friendship. it was subtle, but the familiarity was there.
these were the people who mattered.
and they were exactly who you needed to get close to next.
you slipped seamlessly into conversation with them, playing up the charm and matching their energy effortlessly. it was easy, really—madison was sweet and warm, and quen? well, she was sharp, funny, and didn’t seem to take shit from anyone.
by the end of the night, you weren’t just some random girl who just moved to la. no, you were now on their radar.
the party came to a wrap and as you exchanged goodbyes and promises to hang out soon, you couldn’t help but smirk to yourself.
they had no idea what was coming.
phase four: complete.
phase five: get close to macy
you realized at the party that it wouldn’t have been a good idea to try and talk to macy because she didn’t leave matt’s side once, and matt would’ve immediately recognized you if he had seen you, which would’ve completely jeopardized the plan.
see, the thing is, macy is a model, and your agency just so happened to be looking for some new faces. after the party, you made sure to keep macy in the back of your mind because you knew it was only a matter of time before you’d be working with her in person. it wasn’t long before you got the chance—both of you were assigned to the same photoshoot for a big brand that the agency was promoting.
the first time you saw her in person, she was a lot quieter than you expected. maybe it was because she was surrounded by other models and people she worked with, but she didn’t seem nearly as outgoing as she came off on social media. you had no intention of just jumping in to get to know her right away, but you did make sure to get in a few casual hellos and comments about how excited you were to be working with her.
the shoot itself was long, and there were a lot of down moments while the crew set up shots or adjusted lighting, which gave you plenty of time to talk. you started by talking about the job itself—what it was like working with the agency, the constant hustle, and how draining it all could be. at first, macy wasn’t very open, giving you short answers, but you could tell she was warming up.
after a few hours of talking about everything from the industry to personal stuff, you noticed she seemed a little more relaxed around you. when the crew took a break, you casually offered to grab coffee with her, making sure it didn’t seem like you were trying too hard. macy agreed, and the two of you grabbed a quick coffee from a nearby shop.
over the next few weeks, you found more opportunities to work together, whether it was at another photoshoot or event. each time, you made sure to keep the conversation going, offering small, relatable advice about the industry and connecting on more personal levels. she started confiding in you more—about the pressure to maintain a certain image, the loneliness that came with constantly being on the go, and how hard it was to find genuine friends in a world full of fake ones.
you didn’t push her. you just listened, offering support when needed and being someone she could trust. eventually, she started to reach out to you first, asking for your opinion on various things, and you could tell she was beginning to see you as a friend, not just another coworker.
the real turning point came when the agency booked you both for a big event. during the event, things were relaxed enough that you had a chance to talk one-on-one. this was when you dropped the suggestion—about how your agency had been looking for fresh faces for future campaigns and how they were always interested in bringing in new talent. it was subtle, but effective. macy took the bait, and the next time you talked, she mentioned she’d been thinking about it and was considering taking the next step.
the seed had been planted. you’d gotten closer to her, built the trust, and now you had her in the perfect position. it wasn’t long before macy was fully onboard with the agency's next big campaign, and just like that, your plan was moving forward.
things were falling into place—slowly, but surely.
phase five: complete.
phase six: start spreading the rumors
now that you were getting closer to macy, madison, and quen, it was time to move to phase six of the plan: spreading rumors. subtle, harmless ones at first, ones that wouldn’t immediately seem like an attack, but that would eventually create tension in matt’s friend group. you knew matt’s friends well enough to know that they would start questioning his actions if the right things were said at the right time.
you decided to start with larray. after all, he was the easiest to get to. you’d spent a good amount of time with him, and he was an open book—always down to gossip and willing to listen. it didn’t take much for you to casually bring up the fact that you’d heard a little something about matt during one of your late-night conversations.
“so, like, i don’t know if i’m the only one who’s noticed, but…” you’d start, lowering your voice, like you were sharing some kind of secret. larray, always keen on gossip, would immediately lean in.
“what? spill it,” he’d say, raising an eyebrow.
you’d shake your head, pretending to hesitate. “it’s probably nothing, but i’ve been hearing stuff about matt… like, he’s been kinda distant lately. i don’t know, maybe it’s just me, but i heard he was kinda flaky at the last couple of events. like, not showing up or leaving early.”
larray’s expression would shift slightly, as though he was mulling it over, but he wouldn’t say much at first. you could tell he was processing the information. the next time he was hanging out with matt and the crew, he’d likely file that tidbit away in the back of his mind.
from there, you’d move on to madison. she was always more perceptive, more cautious about things, but you were good at working your way into people’s trust. one day, as you sat together, sipping your drinks, you’d casually bring up something you’d overheard.
“you know, i’ve noticed matt’s been kinda off lately. like, i don’t know if it’s just me, but he seems different. like, more withdrawn? you know, i’ve been hearing that he’s been talking behind people’s backs about his friends.”
madison would pause, taking a sip from her own drink, but her eyes would narrow just a little. “seriously? that doesn’t sound like him,” she’d say. “who’s he been talking about?”
“i mean, i don’t know if it’s about any one person specifically, but i’ve heard him say stuff about the larray before. not, like, bad stuff, but, like, you know, a little judgmental. he’s always got something to say when he’s not around, which is kinda weird, right?”
madison would probably just shrug it off at first, but you'd know that this type of gossip would linger in the back of her mind, especially when she started noticing the little things that seemed off in matt’s behavior.
last but not least, you’d work on quen. she was sharp, observant, and you knew that getting her to trust you enough to believe what you were saying would be a challenge. but you were up for it. your approach would be a little more direct with her.
one afternoon, you’d be hanging out, and you’d make sure to mention something that would start getting her wheels turning.
“i don’t know if you’ve noticed, but matt’s been acting really off lately. like, he’s not as, i don’t know, present? when he’s around the group, it’s like he’s just not… engaged. he’s distant. i heard him say some weird stuff about how he feels like he’s outgrown a lot of the people around him.”
quen would furrow her brows, not immediately responding. “outgrown? huh. that’s… odd. i mean, he’s always been the one trying to keep everyone together.”
“right? and now he’s just, like, pulling away. it’s strange. especially with how close he used to be with everyone.” you’d pause and look at her, as if genuinely concerned, adding, “maybe i’m reading too much into it, but it’s not just me noticing.”
quen would likely stay quiet for a moment, processing it, but deep down, she’d start to think about it. the next time she was with matt, she'd start paying more attention to the way he interacted with the group. the little things would start to show.
with each of them—larray, madison, and quen—you carefully planted just enough doubt to make them start second-guessing matt’s intentions, his loyalty, and his true feelings toward his friends. nothing too drastic at first, just small seeds of uncertainty. but soon enough, the tension would begin to rise. they’d start noticing what they hadn’t before.
and once they did, it would only be a matter of time before matt’s world began to shift.
you let the information sit with them for a while before starting to up the stakes—making the rumors a bit more… compromising.
“girl, don’t even get me started. i heard matt’s been real weird lately,” you say casually, swirling the straw in your drink as you sit next to larray. it’s subtle, but you know exactly what you’re doing.
“uh-uh, hold up.” larray’s eyes widen as he sets his drink down, giving you that signature side-eye. “what do you mean weird? like… weird weird or just matt-being-a-man weird? ‘cause you know these men don’t know how to act.”
you let out a small, dramatic sigh, playing it off like you don’t want to say too much. “i mean… i don’t know, it’s probably nothing. just heard he’s been kinda distant with macy lately. you didn’t notice?”
“not you trying to soft launch tea and then leaving me hanging,” larray gasps, placing a hand on his chest. “spill, bitch. don’t play with me like that.”
“nooo, it’s not that serious!” you laugh, shaking your head. “just… i saw him the other day and he barely acknowledged her. like, he was all up on his phone the whole time. it was just… weird.”
“not him treating macy like she’s on do not disturb,” larray snorts, rolling his eyes dramatically. “ugh, men are so exhausting. they can’t even pretend to care when they’re in public. disgusting.”
you shrug, acting nonchalant, but you know his perception of matt was changing.
onto madison
one night, when you and madison were grabbing drinks after work, you casually brought up matt’s name again, this time in a more pointed way.
“you know, i think i’ve been seeing something with matt,” you’d say, your voice almost too casual, too innocent. “well, not me personally, but macy has been telling me all these things about how matt’s being all secretive with her and stuff. like recently, that’s been our whole topic of conversation while we’re at work. she tells me he’s on his phone more often and how he’s always so dismissive of her questions when she asks him why he’s been distant lately. i don’t know ‘bout you, but it sounds like to me that he might be seeing someone on the sid
madison frowned, clearly uncomfortable. “seriously? that doesn’t sound like him at all.”
you’d nod, looking concerned. “yeah, i don’t know, but it’s been bugging me. i mean, macy doesn’t deserve that. and maybe he isn’t cheating. but why is he still being weird towards her.”
“yeah no, that’s really fucked up.” madison says, feeling a little sad for macy
“i know i shouldn’t be telling macy’s business like that but it was gnawing at me. and what’s worse is that macy doesn’t even consider that he could possibly be cheating on her. like i don’t know. i just- do you promise not to tell anyone?” you ask, trying your best to sound like you’ve been overcome with guilt.
madison nods, giving you a soft smile. “baby, of course i won’t tell anyone. secrets safe with me. in the end, these could all be rumors and a shit ton of overthinking so i wouldn’t really jump to conclusions but i’d definitely keep it in the back of my mind.”
you nod, returning the smile. “thanks. you’re a really good friend.”
“anytime”
you’d pulled off larray and madison, now all you had left for this round of rumors was quen.
after one evening, when you and quen were hanging out after work, you casually said, “have you noticed something with matt?”
quen raised an eyebrow. “what do you mean?”
“i don’t know, it’s just… i’ve noticed that matt is just… different. but like only with one person.”
her eyebrows furrowed in curiosity as she tilted her head slightly. “who?”
“macy.” you said carefully, like her name was some sort of taboo subject. “it’s weird. he’s like a whole different person when she’s not around. like i feel like he’s more of himself when he’s away from her. when she comes around though, he gets all agitated and annoyed. i might be reading into shit but like… i don’t know.”
quen scoffed, but there was a slight hesitation in her voice. “that sounds like some weird shit, honestly.”
“yeah, i mean, it’s not like macy hasn’t caught on either,” you’d say. “she has! but she’s kinda brushing it off, choosing to ignore it. i just feel like she’s making excuses for him. god i just- i feel bad.”
“well who wouldn’t? like no one should treat their girlfriend like she’s trapping them.”
“yeah no, it’s bad. could you like… not mention this to her. she just- she gets all defensive and mad and she’ll probably realize i told you and i’m not trying to be messy i just needed to get this off my chest and stuff.”
“girl i gotchu. don’t worry.”
“thanks.” you mumble.
now it was time for the even bigger ones. the rumors that would really leave them questioning matt.
you sat beside larray, pretending to scroll through your phone as if what you were about to say was nothing. casual. just another piece of gossip in la.
“okay, so tell me why macy was saying matt’s been so busy with filming and working yesterday’s problem lately,” you murmured, keeping your tone light but just loud enough for larray to catch it.
larray raised an eyebrow, already intrigued. “mmm, okay… and?”
you sighed dramatically, like you didn’t want to be messy but just had to spill. “and… quen told me she saw him at a bar the other night.” you paused for effect, giving larray a pointed look. “like… not the filimg. not working on his project. a bar.”
larray’s eyes widened, lips parting slightly. “bitch, what?!” he blinked, processing the information before shaking his head. “oh no. not this man lying through his motherfucking teeth and playing her in her face.”
“right?” you scoffed, biting your lip to hide the satisfied smirk threatening to form. “i mean, maybe there’s a good explanation, but… doesn’t it seem kinda weird?”
larray leaned back, crossing his arms, and gave you a look. “girl, ain’t no way. if my man told me he was working but was out getting going to bars n shit? he’d be single faster than he could even say single.”
“i knowwww,” you drawled, shaking your head, “but macy doesn’t suspect a thing.”
larray sucked his teeth, already mentally adding this to his list of things to bring up later. “ugh, these men. always something. i swear.”
you nodded, pretending to be concerned, but deep down, you knew this was exactly what you needed.
a few days after your conversation with larray, you decided that you’d get madison again. you and madison found yourselves grabbing drinks again, just like before. but this time? you came prepared even more.
“so… remember what i told you about matt last time?” you started, swirling your straw around in your drink, eyes carefully avoiding madison’s as if you were hesitant to even bring it up.
madison’s expression shifted, her brows furrowing slightly. “yeah… what about it?”
you bit your lip, leaning in a little closer like you were about to spill something big. “okay, so… i wasn’t gonna say anything ‘cause i didn’t wanna let macy’s business out into the open again, but… i’ve got more shit on that situation.”
madison’s eyes widened slightly. “girl, what happened?”
you sighed, feigning reluctance, but you wanted this. “so, macy mentioned something again the other day. she said matt’s been going out more—late nights, no explanation, just saying it’s ‘work stuff.’ but like… get this. when she asked him about it, he got defensive. like, super weird.”
madison’s frown deepened, concern flickering across her face. “defensive? over what though?”
“exactly!” you leaned back, arms crossed as if you were just as confused. “like, why get all worked up if you’ve got nothing to hide? and… i don’t know, macy mentioned she checked his location once and he wasn’t even where he said he’d be. she brushed it off, but…” you trailed off, letting the weight of your words hang between you.
madison’s lips pressed into a thin line. “no… that’s shady as hell. if he’s lying about where he’s at?” she shook her head. “girl, that’s not a good sign.”
“right?” you gave her a look that said you get it. “i mean, maybe it’s nothing… but macy’s too trusting. she doesn’t wanna believe he’d do anything like that. but…” you paused, lowering your voice slightly, “what if he is?”
madison’s jaw tightened, her protective instincts clearly kicking in. “ugh, poor macy. i hate that she’s going through this.”
you nodded, your expression perfectly laced with fake concern. “same. that’s why i told you… i didn’t wanna keep it bottled up. but, you know, i just… i feel bad keeping it all to myself.”
“no, no,” madison said softly, shaking her head. “i’m glad you told me. i’ll… i’ll keep an eye on things.”
after that night, things started falling into place exactly how you wanted.
a week or so later, you and quen were hanging out again, this time lounging at her apartment after a long day. casual vibes, just the two of you unwinding, but your mind? it was working overtime.
you waited until the conversation lulled, until the timing felt just right before you spoke up, your tone light but laced with just enough concern to hook her.
“so… remember what i told you about matt and macy the other day?” you said, fiddling absentmindedly with your phone like it wasn’t that big of a deal.
quen glanced over, her interest piqued immediately. “uh, yeah. why? what’s up?”
you sighed, leaning back against the couch like this was weighing heavy on you. “ugh… i wasn’t gonna say anything else, but i’ve been noticing it *a lot* more now. like, girl… it’s bad.”
quen’s brows furrowed, her attention fully locked in now. “how bad are we talking?”
“like… okay, so macy told me that matt’s been avoiding spending too much time with her lately,” you started, keeping your voice low and almost hesitant, like you were scared of even saying it. “she says he’s been making excuses. work, friends, whatever. but get this…” you paused for dramatic effect, watching quen lean in a little closer. “the other day? she said they were supposed to hang out, but matt bailed last minute, saying he had something with the boys. but… quen…” you bit your lip, looking conflicted.
“what?” quen pressed, her eyes narrowing slightly.
“one of my friends saw him that night. and he wasn’t with nick or chris,” you said, lowering your voice. “he was *with another girl.*”
quen’s jaw dropped, her expression flipping from curiosity to full-blown disbelief. “*bitch, what?!*”
“i know,” you murmured, shaking your head like you hated even saying it. “i didn’t believe it at first either. but then i heard it from *two* people. like… what the fuck is going on?”
quen sat up straighter, her lips pursed in frustration. “nah, that’s wild. and macy doesn’t know?”
“nope,” you said softly, shaking your head. “and i don’t know if i should be the one to tell her. i mean, she’s already brushing off so much. she’d probably just think i’m stirring shit.”
quen’s face hardened, her protective side flaring up. “that’s some *bullshit.* she deserves to know if matt’s acting shady like that.”
“i know,” you sighed, looking down, feigning conflict. “but… i don’t wanna be the one to ruin things, you know? i just… i don’t know what to do.”
quen shook her head, clearly irritated now. “girl, don’t worry. i’ll keep an eye on him. if he’s up to something shady, we’ll know.”
you gave her a small, grateful smile, nodding. “thanks, quen. i just… i needed to tell someone. this whole thing’s been eating at me.”
“don’t worry,” quen said firmly, her tone serious. “if that boy’s up to something, he won’t be able to hide it for long.”
and just like that, the wheels were turning. quen was on high alert now, watching matt like a hawk. you didn’t even have to do anything more—she’d handle the rest.
phase six: complete
phase seven: introduce macy to the matt treatment
phase seven was the hardest part.
everything up until now had been about laying the groundwork, planting little doubts in everyone’s minds. but this? this was about making macy feel something that wasn’t even real.
the thing is, matt was a great boyfriend. he wasn’t distant, he wasn’t sneaky, and he wasn’t out here treating macy the way he treated you. and that was the problem.
because if macy never felt the way you felt—if she never experienced the gut-wrenching, soul-crushing matt treatment—then she’d never leave him.
and that? that wasn’t part of the plan.
so, you had to get creative.
step one: distance. but not from matt—from macy’s side of things.
it started small.
“girl, why don’t you ever come out with us anymore?” quen had asked her one night after work, and you made sure you were just within earshot.
macy had laughed it off. “ugh, i know. matt and i have just been spending so much time together lately.”
“damn, glued to his hip, huh?” quen had joked, but the seed had been planted.
and you? you watered it.
“you know,” you said softly the next day, when it was just you and macy grabbing coffee, “it’s great that you and matt are so close, but… don’t you miss having time for yourself sometimes?”
macy frowned a little but shrugged. “not really. i like being with him.”
“of course,” you smiled, keeping your tone light. “but… i don’t know. sometimes too much time together can make things feel… suffocating, y’know? like, matt’s great, but maybe a little space wouldn’t hurt?”
she didn’t agree. not yet. but that’s the thing about seeds—they take time to grow.
step two: fake tension.
if matt wasn’t going to create the tension, you’d have to do it for him.
“ugh,” macy groaned one afternoon while scrolling through her phone. “matt’s been so stressed with everything lately.”
you leaned in, feigning concern. “what’s wrong?”
“just the usual… filming, editing, meetings… he’s been overwhelmed.”
you nodded, playing your part perfectly. “yeah… that’s a lot. has he been… different with you because of it?”
macy’s face scrunched up a bit, her mind already working through a scenario that didn’t exist.
“different how?”
“i don’t know,” you shrugged, keeping it vague on purpose. “sometimes guys get quiet when they’re stressed. pull away a little. they don’t even realize they’re doing it half the time.”
she didn’t say anything after that. but her silence? that was exactly what you wanted.
step three: paranoia.
this was where things got tricky. you had to be subtle, careful not to overplay your hand.
“hey, have you noticed matt texting more lately?” you asked casually one evening, like it was just a passing thought.
macy blinked, looking up from her drink. “huh?”
“oh, nothing,” you waved it off with a smile. “i just… i don’t know. when we were out the other night, i noticed he was on his phone a lot. but it’s probably nothing.”
but it was never nothing.
because now? macy’s mind was already spiraling.
and it worked.
little by little, macy started to feel the things you had felt.
the distance.
the doubt.
the sinking feeling in her gut that something wasn’t quite right, even though matt was still being the same perfect boyfriend he had always been.
but to macy? it wouldn’t feel that way anymore.
because now?
everything felt off.
phase seven: complete.
phase eight: start encouraging macy to break up with matt
phase eight was all about patience.
you knew macy wasn’t ready to let go just yet. she was still holding on, hoping things would get better with matt—even after all the doubts you’d planted.
but that was fine.
because this wasn’t a sprint. it was a marathon.
so you kept playing your part.
you spent more time with her, slowly becoming her confidant.
hangout one: thursday, july 17th, 12:14 pm
another brunch.
macy looked exhausted, her smile just a little less bright than usual.
“you okay?” you asked, keeping your tone light but concerned.
she gave a small shrug, stirring her coffee absentmindedly. “yeah… just tired, i guess.”
you let it go. didn’t push. just offered a soft smile and changed the subject to something easy.
hangout two: wednesday, july 30th, 11:37 pm
a late-night target run.
the conversation was effortless, jumping from one topic to another.
“ugh, i swear, i’m gonna end up living off frozen pizza and sour candy,” you joked, tossing a bag into the cart.
macy laughed, but her response was softer, almost distracted. “at least you know what you like.”
it was nothing. just a passing comment.
hangout three: friday, august 22nd, 10:43 pm
movie night at her place.
you both sat curled up on the couch, the glow of the tv flickering across the room.
“thanks for coming over,” macy murmured, almost too quietly to catch.
“of course,” you said softly, not making a big deal of it.
she didn’t say anything else.
but the way her shoulders relaxed just a little more as the night went on?
that wasn’t nothing.
but none of it stood out.
no lingering looks. no obvious smiles. no heavy silences.
just… a quiet comfort.
she started replying to your texts a little faster.
her invitations to hang out came a little more frequently.
and maybe—maybe—she seemed a little more at ease when it was just the two of you.
but it was subtle.
so subtle that even you didn’t catch it.
because phase eight wasn’t about that.
phase eight was about planting doubt.
and that?
that was working perfectly.
phase eight: complete
phase nine: watch as matt’s life falls apart completely
and this all brings us back to now.
matthew bernard sturniolo.
god, you couldn’t stand the man. but looking at him now—his life a complete mess—there was nothing sweeter. and the best part?
it was all because of you.
his friends had all turned their backs on him. larray, madison, quen—they didn’t look at him the same anymore. the doubt you’d planted in their minds had festered, grown, and twisted everything they once believed about matt.
larray? couldn’t trust matt after the whole “bar incident.” he’d barely speak to him now. anytime matt tried to reach out, larray would leave him on read or reply with some dry-ass response that made it painfully obvious he wasn’t interested. and when he did talk to him?
“girl, i’m busy. find someone else to lie to.”
madison? she kept her distance. she hadn’t confronted matt directly, but you could tell she was piecing everything together. the seeds of doubt you’d planted had bloomed beautifully, and now she didn’t even look at matt the same.
quen? she was the most direct.
“nah, matt,” she had said the last time he tried talking to her. “i don’t fuck with that weird shit. you’re different.”
and then there was macy.
sweet, sweet macy.
she had been the hardest to break. her love for matt was deep—genuine. it took time to unravel that.
but you did it.
every rumor. every carefully crafted conversation. every doubt you whispered in her ear.
it all led to this moment.
she had finally broken up with him.
you weren’t there to see it, but you could imagine how it went down. the tears in her eyes, her voice breaking as she confronted him.
“i just… i can’t do this anymore, matt.”
and matt?
probably standing there, dumbfounded, begging her to believe that none of it was true.
but it was too late.
you had made sure of that.
now, matt was left standing in the wreckage of his own life.
his friends? gone. his relationship? over. his reputation? in shambles.
and he had no idea who was pulling the strings.
you stood on the sidelines, watching it all crumble, a satisfied smirk tugging at your lips.
all that heartbreak? all that pain?
now, it was his turn to feel it.
and the best part?
he never even saw it coming.
but it wasn’t enough.
watching matt’s life fall apart had been… satisfying. no doubt. but it still didn’t give you the closure you needed. not yet.
because he still didn’t know.
and what fun would it be if he never found out?
no, matt needed to see you—face to face. he needed to look you in the eyes and realize who was behind it all. he needed to feel the weight of everything crashing down around him and know that it was your doing.
you needed that moment.
and as fate would have it, that moment was just around the corner.
macy had left something at matt’s place. she didn’t want to go back for it herself—too painful, too fresh—so, naturally, she asked you to grab it for her.
at first, you weren’t sure if it was a good idea. walking back into his space? after everything? but then, you realized…
this was your chance.
you’d have matt all to yourself. no macy. no friends. just you and him.
so, here you were. standing outside his apartment, heart pounding, pulse racing.
you knocked.
once.
twice.
the door swung open faster than you expected, and there he was.
matthew bernard sturniolo.
and he looked like shit.
dark circles under his eyes, hair a mess, his expression was… tired. broken.
“cherry?” his voice was barely above a whisper, pure disbelief written all over his face.
you felt a sick sort of satisfaction bloom in your chest.
“matthew. it’s been a while. how’ve you been lately?” you asked, an almost sadistic smirk tugging at your lips.
he blinked, eyes wide, like he was seeing a ghost. “i-i… wha-what are you doing here?” his voice was barely above a whisper, shaky and unsure.
you tilted your head, feigning innocence. “you really haven’t figured that out yet?” your hand rested on your hip, your tone dripping with impatience. all this hard work, months of planning, and the boy didn’t even have a damn clue. how rude.
but what was even more insulting? the way this idiot had the nerve to shake his head. “n-no.”
wow.
“ugh, you’re as stupid as ever,” you scoffed, shaking your head in disbelief. “it was me, goddamn it. i did it. i’m the reason your sad, pathetic life is crumbling to pieces.”
the color drained from his face, eyes widening—not with confusion this time, but pure, unfiltered terror.
“why… why would you do something like that?” he asked, his voice barely holding together.
you rolled your eyes, a bitter laugh slipping out. “god, are you stupid?” your tone dripped with disdain. “you really don’t remember?”
his silence was answer enough.
“jesus christ, matt,” you muttered, crossing your arms. “four years. four fucking years, and you can’t even remember the shit you put me through?”
his lips parted, but no words came out.
“let me refresh your memory then.” you stepped closer, just enough to watch the panic build behind his eyes. “remember high school? how we did everything like a couple but you never wanted to put a label on it? all that ‘i’m not ready for a relationship yet’ bullshit? and me? i was so fucking stupid, i waited. i waited for you.”
matt’s jaw clenched, but he didn’t speak.
“but it didn’t stop there, did it?” you went on, voice dripping with venom. “no, you kept feeding me lies. you’re the only one who gets me, baby. one day, i’m gonna marry you, you know that?” you scoffed, eyes narrowing. “and like an idiot, i believed it. i believed you.”
his breathing was heavier now, chest rising and falling a little too quickly.
“then you left,” you hissed, your tone colder now. “moved to la. promised we’d make it work, that we’d talk every day, visit whenever we could.” you let out a bitter laugh. “but those calls? they got shorter. the texts? less frequent. until, eventually…” you paused, your gaze hardening as you locked eyes with him.
“you ghosted me.”
his face paled even more, if that was even possible.
“left me wondering what the fuck i did wrong. wondering why i wasn’t enough for you,” your voice cracked, but you swallowed the emotion down, refusing to let him see you break. “and just when i finally started to accept that maybe you weren’t coming back…” you tilted your head, a cruel smile tugging at the corners of your lips.
“i saw the pictures.”
matt’s breath caught in his throat.
“you. at that party. all over her.” the venom in your voice was impossible to miss. “while i was sitting at home, waiting for a text you were never going to send.”
matt opened his mouth, but you didn’t give him the chance.
“and that’s when i realized,” you said, leaning in just enough for your words to cut deeper. “i was never going to be enough for you. but that’s okay. because now?”
you smiled sweetly, though your eyes were anything but kind.
“you’re the one who’s left with nothing.”
you stood there, staring at him for a few seconds, letting the weight of your words sink in. you could see the way he was struggling to process it, the panic mixed with guilt. but it wasn’t your problem anymore. you had done what you came for, and that was all that mattered.
you let out a deep breath, shaking your head in disbelief.
“god, matt,” you muttered, the contempt thick in your voice. “you really are the worst.”
you turned your back on him, hearing him call your name weakly, but you didn’t stop.
"you're nothing but a liar and a coward," you threw over your shoulder. "so enjoy the mess you made. you deserve every bit of it."
without looking back, you walked towards your car, your heart pounding, but not from anger—no, from a strange kind of satisfaction. for the first time in years, it felt like everything was finally in place. like all the puzzle pieces had clicked together, and you had everything you needed.
you slid into the driver's seat, slamming the door shut. you could still hear him shouting your name, but it didn’t matter anymore. his voice was nothing now.
you put the car in drive, the engine rumbling to life, and slowly pulled away from the curb.
as you made your way home, your mind wandered back to macy.
phase ten
you couldn’t help but smile, the anticipation building. it had been a slow burn, but now, things had shifted in ways you hadn’t even expected. what started as a plan to destroy matt had turned into something much more unexpected. you had gotten under his skin—and now, macy’s too.
the thought of macy, her soft lips against yours, the way she started leaning into you more and more, her touch lingering a little longer than it should’ve—none of it had been planned. but here you were, with a beautiful, broken mess of a boyfriend’s ex, and she was yours now.
you smiled to yourself as you sped down the road, your thoughts consuming you.
phase ten: ravish your new girlfriend's body completely.
and just like that, the plan was over. the game had changed. you didn’t need revenge anymore—you had her.

Super in love with your work it's amazing.
So I had this idea maybe you'd like? Just an idea: Do with it what you will
So reader is a coworker with Simon, and she's like super strong-willed, doesn't take bullshit from anyone type person, good at what she does and knows it, and Simon fucking loves that, loves a woman that can put someone in their place. He thinks it's just respect at first, but one day, he sees her yelling at some recruits and gets so turned on from the sight that he can't think of anything else.
Interested with what you might do with it or how you'd continue it if you decide to write it
Have a nice rest or your day either way
I love this!!
CW: Military inaccuracies, Ghost gets boners for you, sexual tensions and allusions to further smut but nothing graphic
Tumblr media
They called you Hawk due to your impeccable eyesight. You were hard-headed with a vast efficiency to pinpoint a target miles away, your bullet already penetrating the air before others could even see it. You were a quick fit into the Task Force with a shabby sense of humour and ability to take control.
Working in a male-dominated industry should’ve scared you, but it didn’t. You were a whirlwind on your feet, easily able to toggle areas and courses without even a remote struggle. You thrived at what you did, constantly garnering respect from those around you. Maybe that’s why Ghost was so intrigued by you.
He tied it down to a “respect thing”, enjoying that a woman was able to put anyone in their place no matter the size of who she was dealing with. That’s why he was slightly confused at the growing bulge in his cargo pants.
Your face was contorted in frustration, tangled eyebrows furrowed as you yelped commands at a group of soldiers. Your hands were resting on your hips, a scowl on your face as you groaned.
“Private Matthews, did I or did I not say that you should never take your eye off an opponent?”
“You did, ma’am.”
“You will refer to me as Sergeant, private,” you snapped, “Get back in the ring and do it correctly this time.”
Ghost adjusted, turning his attention back to the group of soldiers before him, barking out his own orders, umber eyes occasionally darting over to you, entranced at how simple it was for you to command.
You were seated next to Soap, ass flush on the seat as you grumbled about how idiotic some people were, bragging about how certain you were that you were never there incompetent.
“Aye, lass, can’t all be like you, can we?”
You nudged the Scotsman’s shoulder, offering him a toothy smile as you went on to joke around. Ghost watched you as he approached, looking at the way your eyes were always high, never stooping to the ground with discomfort. You smiled as the Lieutenant joined you, missing the way his eyes racked over you.
“Bonnie here was just saying she could easily tackle you in a shuttle run, LT,” Soap joshed, earning you an eye roll.
“That so?” Ghost’s voice was naturally loud, a deep husk protruding from every word as he looked at you. You shrugged, tossing him a teasing smirk.
“Won’t know until we find out, will we Lieutenant?”
Ghost could feel himself straining again, pants tightening at your display of confidence before you excused yourself, muttering about hitting the gym to wear you out. Ghost was quick to follow, scoffing down the remainder of his food and rushing out a goodbye before heavy feet were trailing behind you.
You were clad in a loose pair of gym shorts, a well-fitted green singlet sporting against your skin as gloved fists pummelled a punching bag. You were quick, feet skidding against the ground as you huffed out shallow breaths.
“You have good form,” Ghost spoke, clearing his throat.
You turned around, hair swishing in a messy pony as you looked at him, brow raised, “Did you doubt me, Lieutenant?”
“Unsure. Never sparred with you, ‘ave I, Hawk?”
“You asking to spar with me, Ghost?”
He rolled his eyes as you walked up to him, a cocky smirk on your face as you got into position. You were both quick, entangled limbs battering against one another as you both ducked, blurting out expletives as your clothes moulded with trickles of sweat.
Ghost was practically mesmerised by the way you moved, somehow making sparring look elegant. The Lieutenant knocked you to your feet, your body crashing onto the ground with a slam as you groaned, staring up at him with irked eyes.
“Didn’t anyone warn you to take it easy on a lady?” You miffed; your face contorted with annoyance as you glared at him.
Ghost frowned slightly, taking in your pained expression before he was knocked between the ankles, joining you on the ground as you giggled out a laugh, clambering on top of him with a finger gun pointed to his head.
“Shouldn’t underestimate your opponents, LT, no matter how annoyed they look.”
Ghost let out a grunt as he flipped the two of you over, your hands pinned above your head. “Never underestimated you, sweet’art.”
Your bodies radiated heat, thick smog of tension pummelling into the atmosphere as your eyes interlocked. You licked your lip, forehead wet with salty moisture as you maintained composure.
“You gonna keep me like this all night, Lieutenant?” Your tone was sultry, wringing him in with every syllable as he pressed against you, growing bulge prominent against your clothed sex as you glanced down.
“Thinking about it.”

Matt has a size humiliation kink...
Tumblr media
"What am I supposed to do with that?" You scoffed at Matt after he unzipped his pants and pulled out his cock, if you could even call it that. "Wh-what do you mean?" He nervously asked, looking up at you with his blue eyes.
"It's so little," you giggled. "How is that supposed to get me off?" You covered your mouth, trying to hide how comical you found the whole situation. Matt had talked himself up to you so much about how good he was at getting girls off just to present you with this?
"W-wait! I can make it bigger," Matt stammered, his smile fading and his cheeks growing pink with embarrassment. "Prove it," you smirked, narrowing your gaze at him. He started stroking it with his fingers, eagerly trying to prove himself to you.
You tried to hold back a grin, but your amusement was very apparent in your expression, watching the way he jerked himself off. "See? You can't even use your whole hand," you responded, bursting into laughter.
Tears started to well in his eyes, and his bottom lip began to quiver. "But look, it's getting bigger," he whined as it grew to its full potential - which still wasn't much. "Is that really as big as it gets? That's pathetic," you teased him, rolling your eyes.
He stopped touching himself, sniffled, and wiped away a tear drop that had started rolling down his cheek. "I didn't say you could stop, pretty boy. Keep going," you scolded him. He nodded, picking up where he left off, pumping his cock again.
You reached out and gently tapped on the tip, eliciting a soft whimper from his pouty, pink lips as a bit of precum trickled out. A smirk crept into the corner of your mouth as you smeared the clear liquid around on the head. "It's so little. I bet it doesn't take much to make you cum, does it?" You softly cooed.
"It's not little," he cried out, his voice breaking in humiliation. "And you whine like a little bitch," you laughed at him, looking down your nose at him. He stared down at his swollen, pathetic tip through his tears, his dick twitching at your degrading words as he sped up his strokes.
"It might not be big, but it sure is pretty," you whispered, continuing to circle his head with your fingertip. "Pretty?" He winced at your emasculating description. "You can't call it something else?"
"Something else? Like what, Matt? Cute? Adorable? Glittery?" You taunted him, admiring how shiny his tip looked beneath your soft touch. He groaned in embarrassment.
"Keep touching your sweet little cock for me, Matthew. Don't you dare stop until you make a mess," you seductively whispered, continuing to stimulate his pretty, pink tip with your fingers. He nodded, his breath becoming more shallow and his moans sounding more desperate. His climax neared, pressure building in his lower stomach as he sped up his strokes even more.
His eyes rolled back into his head, and his dick pulsed in his grasp. "Fuck," he softly moaned as his cock twitched and squirted all over, covering his palm and your hand in a thick layer of his pearly white cum.
A blissful smile spread across his lips as he finished, pleasure overwhelming him and causing his whole body to shudder. His pretty blue eyes met yours as he gazed at you with a fucked out expression. He continued to stroke himself, draining his cock completely before he slowed to a stop.
"So pretty when you cum," you praised him, leaning in and kissing him on his pink, flushed cheek. "You're such a good boy. I knew it wouldn't take much."

A Gentle Touch
Installment 1 of The Catlike Tendencies of Matthew Murdock
pairing: Matt Murdock x fem!reader
summary: Matt doesn't know how to ask for physical affection.
warnings: none that I can think of!
a/n: long story short this is inspired by my wife’s orange cat. He loves her but only tolerates me most of the time, unless I’m the only one home when he wants attention. However, he doesn’t really know how to cuddle with me since we don’t do it often so he just awkwardly lurks wherever I am until I invite him closer. It happened earlier and I thought it was hilariously Matt-coded so I wrote this. (It’s set in the Of Oak and Ivy verse because I love them, but you don’t need to read that story for this)
w/c: 2.3k
You were absolutely enthralled in the story Foggy was telling when the noise caught you off guard. A small puff of air, sounding almost like a voiceless sigh. Glancing toward Matt who was the closest to you, one look at his stony expression told you it had come from him. He was clearly irritated, despite his face being blank. You’d known him for long enough that you could tell when something was on his mind.
Maybe he’d heard this story too many times? You leaned more heavily into his arm, which was parallel to yours.
Turning your attention back to Foggy, you flinched with a laugh as he gestured wildly when concluding his story, spraying beer at you from his mostly full bottle.
“Geez, Fog. Reaching your limit already?” Matt smirked, his icy exterior fading away as you giggled beside him.
“He is, he’s all flushed. This is just like that party at the Beta house sophomore year.” You shook your head, looking at Karen with an exasperated expression. “Have they told you the possum story?”
Smiling gleefully, Karen shook her head. “The possum story?”
Both Matt and Foggy groaned, protesting and blushing furiously, but Karen was adamant. And who were you to not indulge her?
“In the fall of our second year at Columbia, Matt and Foggy got absolutely plastered on some disgusting concoction of cheap alcohol and Hawaiian Punch,” You began, rolling your eyes as Foggy gagged across from you.
“God, even the thought of it—“ The blond mime-retched.
“Yah the smell of Hawaiian Punch still makes me nauseous.” Matt shuddered next to you.
Karen stifled a giggle as you continued to illustrate just how inebriated you’d found them when you’d come to pick them up. “I was studying and had sat the party out, but offered to drive them home when Fog called me screaming at someone to chug alcohol. I figured they’d both be in no shape to get home.”
“You were correct.” Foggy nodded.
“I don’t remember anything from that night, but I assume I was the one chugging.” Matt grimaced, laughing sheepishly.
“So I drove over to the house, somehow got ahold of Matt and managed to convince him to herd Foggy and himself into my car. When they get there, they’re holding this bundle, right? I figured it was dirty clothes or something. But as we were driving home the clothes start hissing.”
“Oh, NO!” Karen cackled, propping herself up on her elbows as she listened to the story.
“Oh yes. Naturally, I ask Fog what he’s holding and he says ‘my dog’.”
“We didn’t have a dog,” Matt clarified, looking incredibly guilty.
“No you did not.” You squeezed his arm, hoping he could hear in your voice that you had no resentment over the incident. “Foggy unwraps the thing a bit and introduces it as ‘Spot’. But instead of a dog,”
“It’s a possum.” Karen finishes for you, nearly in stitches over her coworkers’ mortified faces.
“An angry one at that. I have no idea where it came from or how they managed to catch it, but there it was.” You shook your head, still amazed at their ability to wrangle the creature while piss-drunk.
“What happened to it?” Karen asked, and the men erupted.
“That’s classified.” Foggy stated firmly, lips pressed together.
“A story for another time,” Matt rubbed the back of his neck uncomfortably.
“Don’t tell me you killed it!” Karen gasped, whirling to look at the out of them sternly.
“Of course not! No possums were harmed in the making of this story, just mildly inconvenienced.” You assured her. “They’re just clamming up because they can’t remember whose fault it was that it got loose in the science hall.”
Trailing off into a fit of laughter, Karen was quick to follow you as the two men started arguing, pointing fingers. Sitting back and enjoying the show, you shot Karen knowing glances as Matt and Foggy fought, no real heat behind their words.
Tumblr media
You’d had so much fun that night, reliving one of the funniest moments of your college years, that you’d completely forgotten about the aggravated sound. Until about one month after, when you were sitting next to Matt on a bench in the courthouse.
The case he and Foggy had been working on was tedious and full of metaphorical landmines that threatened to ruin any shot your client had at escaping her abusive husband. The entire firm had been on edge, struggling to keep everything in order. Given your lack of steady employment at the moment, you’d been helping out wherever you could, and had been working this case from day one, right alongside Matt. Which is how you’d ended up beside him rather than Foggy.
The blond had flown out of town a few days before to attend an extended family reunion, leaving the rest of you to man the fort, so to speak. Usually, that wouldn’t be an issue, but Matt had been increasingly temperamental leading up to the ex parte hearing. His normal reserved demeanor had rapidly been replaced by a moody, antagonistic version of him–driving poor Karen to her wit’s end.
After Matt had incited a screaming match over a spilled cup of coffee, you’d told her to take her lunch early, giving her a couple hours where she didn’t need to walk on eggshells. The plan seemed to be working so far, Matt responding with less hostility to your persistent support rather than Karen’s eager suggestions for an aggressive approach. Something about this case had rubbed Matt the wrong way. His invisible hackles were standing on end, posture almost bristling as he sat beside you, twisting a white-knuckled fist around his cane. And, though you understood why Karen was pushing for another solution, you agreed with Matt that this needed to be handled quickly and quietly.
Scowling at the floor, Matt’s joints rolled beneath the delicate skin of his hands. His jaw was clenched, shoulders curled inward, as if he expected the judge to request a fist fight to grant the protection order. Christ, that could not be comfortable.
Carefully, slow enough to not spook him when he was in this state, you slid the pads of your fingers over the back of his hand. Prying his firm grip off the handle of his cane, you cradled his massive, calloused hand in your lap. He visibly relaxed at the touch, twisting to face you as you traced gentle patterns over his skin, careful to avoid the line of freshly healed cuts on his knuckles. Your curiosity would have to wait for now. There was no way he was in the mood to explain those.
A breathy rumble sounded in his throat, akin to a sigh but less obvious. The same noise he’d made all those days ago at Josie’s–the quiet indication that something wasn’t right.
Bottom lip jutting out in sympathy, you squeezed his fingers with your own. “It’ll be ok, Matty.”
He swallowed roughly, hazel eyes darting around behind his red lenses. You could practically see the thoughts forming in his mind before he buried them, the stress forcing him back into bad habits. Sweeping your fingers over his wrist, you studied him, satisfaction thrumming in your chest when his breath hitched. “Hey, talk to me, trouble. What are you thinking?”
“It’s not going to go well.” His voice was pitched low, angry, but there was a brief undercurrent of fear within it.
“We don’t know that.” You chastised lightly, knowing this pessimistic streak was a coping mechanism and not confirmation he’d become a nihilist.
“I can feel it. Can’t you feel it? It’s like every officer is laughing at us. We’ve already lost.” Watching Matt, the perpetual optimist, crumble at the thought of things not going the way you’d planned nearly broke your heart.
“Oh trouble, don’t say that.” Threading your fingers with his, you knocked your knees together. “It’ll be ok. Even if the judge doesn’t grant the order today, we won’t stop trying, right?”
“No but she needs legal protection now. Truthfully, she needs an armed guard.” Matt spoke bitterly.
“We can get her temporary protection.” You suggested.
“They’d never grant that for a simple DV case. Besides, those are his coworkers. Do you really trust them to keep her safe from him?” Matt scoffed, raising a brow at you.
Resisting the urge to roll your eyes, you jabbed your pinky into the flesh of his palm. “I wasn’t suggesting we go to the police, Matthew. You and I both know how little good that would do.”
Deflating as he realized you weren’t being as naive as he suspected, Matt frowned. “Sorry.”
“It’s alright. Not everyone knows the flaws in the system.” You reassured him. “But I do. To some extent, at least.”
He hummed in agreement, but said nothing.
“What’s really bothering you?” At your insistent question, Matt’s face flashed with rage, his spine straightening as he tried to pull out of your grasp, but you held fast. “Don’t you dare, trouble. Please, talk to me. It’s eating you away, I can’t sit here and let that happen.”
Sighing harshly, Matt ran a hand over his face. “I just..this case feels different. I don’t know why. But if we can’t help her…”
“All we can do is try our best.” You reminded him.
He let out a single humorless laugh. “I suppose that’s true.”
When you let his hand drop, he made that pitiful, choked noise again.
“What?” You asked, slightly worried.
“Nothing. Just tired.” He lied, wrapping his hand back around the handle of his cane.
Tumblr media
It was only once you were truly together that you realized what that specific sound was meant to signify.
Since you’d officially started dating, or rather labeling whatever you two had as a relationship instead of dancing around each other, that stupid noise had cemented itself in your life. It seemed like Matt was making it every damn day and it was driving you up a wall.
Not because Matt wasn’t entitled to his feelings or to expressing said feelings. But because your brain registered that the sound had a specific meaning, and you could not for the life of you translate it from a mere Matt-ism into a language you actually understood. Every little quirk and charm about Matt inherently made sense to you, they always had. Yet this little growling exhale seemed out of your reach. Not to mention, anytime you tried to ask him what was up, he shut down faster than a computer chip dunked in pool water.
Sitting on his couch as he typed on his laptop, he snarled out that sound, eyes darting towards you and away before you could blink. Brows furrowing, you peered at him over the top edge of your book. A muscle in his cheek twitched, a blaring omen that he was holding himself back from saying something.
“You ok?” You asked, nose scrunching as Matt brushed off your concern.
“Yep. Hungry.” He grumbled.
One word answers. Great start. Really breaking down his walls there, champ.
“Oh, gotcha. I’ll order something. Have a taste for anything in particular?” Setting your book across your thighs, you opened up a delivery app on your phone.
“No.”
“Okay...” You drawled, stifling an eye roll at his grouchiness. “How about that Lebanese place we liked?”
Receiving nothing but a thumbs up in response, you submit an order before Matt reached another stage of hangriness.
Once Matt had eaten half of his shawarma, he was more agreeable. Smiling and chuckling sweetly as you read him cheesy snippets of your romance novel. Crawling across the couch until you were seated beside him, you stretched over his lap to snatch a piece of pita bread for your plate of hummus. Matt blew out a breath, tickling your ear as he grunted. Now that you were close, you could hear the shrill, whimpering undertone. Hidden, nearly silent, as if the growl was to compensate for the whine, to conceal it.
Craning your neck towards him, you planted your free hand on your hip.
“Alright. Out with it.”
“Out with what?” Matt gave his best ‘befuddled’ impression, but you saw past his feigned innocence.
Snorting, you prodded his firm chest. As your finger connected with his solid pec, he whimpered again, this time almost moaning. Something clicked.
“Matthew Michael Murdock,” You gasped. “You are not making that sound instead of asking to cuddle.”
Blushing furiously, Matt dipped his head, ashamed–though he made no attempt to deny the allegation.
Laughing incredulously, you tossed your plate aside and settled into Matt’s lap, threading a hand into his hair. “You are a ridiculous man.”
Matt rumbled happily, leaning into the touch until his head landed against your chest. Clutching his face between your palms, you trailed soft touches over his cheeks, around his ears–scratching tenderly down his neck when he practically melted beneath your fingertips.
“You could’ve told me that’s what you wanted, all this time…” Shaking your head, you planted a kiss atop his thick hair. “Why suffer in silence?”
“Didn’t want to force you. It’s been different. Since..everything.”
Snuggling in close, you maneuvered his chin with two fingers, kissing him deeply. His stubble brushed over your skin roughly, making you smile. “You can always always ask, trouble. No need to be a martyr with me.”
“Sorry,” Matt murmured against your lips, chasing your mouth with a mournful noise as you pulled away.
“Don’t be sorry. Now come here.” Tugging him on top of you, you laughed brightly as he squirmed over you, finally relaxed when his face was tucked against your neck. “That’s it. Better?”
“Much better.” He whispered, going limp under your touch as your fingers stroked up his back.

something on my face?
were you being serious back there?
Lottie matthews
Pronouns: They/Them/Theirs, GN!Reader
CW/TW: Slight manipulation, all the warnings that come with Lottie lmao
Tumblr media
It'd been hard at first getting used to sleeping in a little wooden hut instead of the creaking floorboards of the cabin with the sound of crackling fire lulling you to sleep, but you eventually grew to enjoy hearing the soft trilling of insects and the occasional call of an owl that would've otherwise been muffled by the cabin walls.
Things were different now; people were different, too.
While Natalie had never shied away from speaking her mind, her new role as their leader allowed her to be taken more seriously by the others. She was a good leader, one grounded in logic who'd managed to use the cabin burning as an opportunity rather than a grave failure. Winter would've killed them had it not been for her... and had it not been for Javi's sacrifice.
You lifted your head up from your worn, dirty converse, your fingers fiddling with the now-dirt brown laces as you tied and tightened them until your foot no longer threatened to slip free from the shoe. Your eyes almost immediately gravitated toward Travis and his slumped-over form against a tree. You winced, your heart breaking just a little bit at the sight of his near blank face.
Javi's death rendered him a shell of his former self, the grief and depression so intense none of the girls bothered with their usual teasing. Not even Shauna, who spent most of her time scowling and snapping at everyone in quick bursts of sudden irritation, let a single cruel comment directed at him slip from her mouth. Mostly everyone left him alone to process his grief. Mostly everyone.
You involuntarily sighed at the sight of Lottie walking toward Travis with her hands delicately wrapped around a steaming cup. Lottie spent a good portion of spring's arrival creating the perfect tea, one she claimed could help others speak to It with little difficulty. Everyone else had dismissed her fairly quickly, shaking their heads or redirecting her toward someone else, but Travis had been too defeated to reject her soft murmurs. By the grimace on his face, he was regretting it.
Brushing dirt from your knee and straightening up, you made a beeline toward the two brunettes in swift strides and quickly intercepted Lottie before she could crouch down and coax Travis into drinking the godforsaken tea. She blinked her big eyes at you, her brows beginning to twitch into a furrow, but her mouth pulled into a gentle yet puzzled tight-lipped smile.
"Lottie, hey, I think we really need to put a small stop to these teas."
"Travis is making progress." Lottie blinked again, her smile twisting into the start of a frown. "We have to know what It wants from us, (Y/N). How else will we know what to do if we can't speak to It?" She gave a small shake of her head, her long hair swaying side to side with her movements.
You nodded, somewhat forcibly, and placed your hand over her shoulder. "Yes, of course, I agree with you, Lot, but have you considered It just... doesn't have anything more to say right now? You of all people know It came to our rescue when we needed it. It led us to the cabin when we had no shelter, showed you ways to keep us safe, brought us food when we needed it... showed us how to survive during winter. We're thriving now, Lot."
"But we need to know what's coming." Lottie asserted lightly, though from the way she glanced down at the tea and then looked around camp, she was giving your words some thought. Her lips pursed slightly, her dark eyes flickering back to you. "We need It to show us what's coming, how to prepare-"
"Lottie," You cooed, lifting your hand from her shoulder to delicately cup her cheek. Her lips remained parted, but no further words came out from them at your touch. You brushed your thumb over her tan skin, trailing it over her cheekbone until her shoulders slumped and that defensive tension left her body. "We know you want to keep us safe, we really do, but we don't need It right now. What we need is everyone doing their part, and Travis needs a clear head for that. If a time comes when we need It or It needs us, I'm certain that It will let us know what It wants one way or another, okay?"
She suckled her bottom lip into her mouth, her top teeth digging lightly into it in contemplation. "Okay." She exhaled, her features softening and wavy strands bouncing off the sides of her face when she nodded.
"Great!" Travis audibly sighed in relief behind you, but it seemingly went unnoticed by her. You dropped your hand back to her shoulder and gave it a gentle, encouraging squeeze. "Now, why don't you go dump that tea out and start doing your chores, alright? I'm sure if It has something to say to Travis, It'll get the message across, and he'll come straight to you. Right, Travis?"
"Y-Yeah, I'll let you know if I see or hear something, Lottie." Travis nodded quickly as he staggered onto his feet and used the tree trunk for support. He offered a little smile for Lottie, a much more thankful one for you, and then quickly headed off to get started on his chores for the day before Lottie could change her mind.
With a pat to Lottie's shoulder, you peeled your hand away and headed for the gardens where your chores began. It was a simple day for you, uneventful, but it was how you preferred it nowadays. Eventful days always seemed to bring the most sorrow.
You crouched down in the dirt and mulch after collecting one of the smaller, duller knives and began tugging at any weeds encroaching on the precious berries and herbs used for medicine and food. Before the crash, you would've scoffed at the idea of sitting under the sun tending to a garden, but now, you found it pretty relaxing.
That was until Lottie kneeled down across from you with one of the handmade baskets at her hip. At the very least, it meant you could keep a better eye on her and ensure she wasn't badgering Travis, but from the way her eyes kept rising to watch your face.. you were beginning to think you made yourself her next target. It wasn't like you hated Lottie or disliked her as much as Shauna did at times; she was simply... a little annoying, for lack of a better word.
"Something on my face?" You asked playfully, pulling your lips into a smile because being kind often got people better results, not that Shauna would know given how she briefly glanced over as she walked by only to roll her eyes. At least Melissa found her aloofness amusing.
Lottie's head fully lifted, shaking lightly at your question as she set the berries she'd collected in the basket. "Were you being serious back there?" She asked instead, wiping her palm over the skirt of her dress. "Do you actually believe in It? Do you really think It won't take offense?"
"You tell me, Lottie." You gave a little shrug, not too keen on telling her you thought the whole thing had been bullshit the second she began her mutterings about the wilderness and what 'It' wanted from them. She could pray to the dirt and twigs and wind if she wanted, but there was a snowball's chance in hell you'd do the same. "You know It better than anyone here."
"It hasn't spoken to me in a while," Lottie admitted quietly, her gaze averting as if it were hurtful and even shameful to admit aloud. She set the basket over her lap and dipped her fingers inside to roll the berries around in thought. "I wondered if maybe I had done something.. but maybe you're right. Maybe It has nothing to say right now."
"I'm sure It will come back to you when It needs something, Lot."
"Mm." Lottie's mouth curled upward, satisfied. Her head tilted to the side, her eyes crinkling with warmth. "Could I sleep in your hut tonight?"

"don't be so fucking sensitive, y/n! i was just messing around. you're getting all riled up over nothin', kid." matt groans, leaning back and supporting himself with his hands on the mattress underneath him.
a scoff falls from your lips as you cross your arms, watching him from the open door of his bedroom, "don't call me 'kid', i'm not a fuckin' kid, matthew. and you could've died from the height of your apartment! you're still drunk." you catch sight of his blown pupils even from across the room, worry and anger clear on your face.
matt just rolls his eyes, gripping the sheets in his hands as he sighs, "well, i can hear what you're saying perfectly, thank you. and, plus, i wasn't gonna lose 50 fucking dollars, y/n."
"you didn't have to give it to the guy, matt. you're just so reckless, it's like you're trying to kill yourself 24/7! what is your problem?" your breathing is heavy now, the heat of the argument never dying down as you continue to voice your complaints about his recklessness. tears threaten to fall down your cheeks as he just mutters inaudible words.
"what problem? there's not a problem, you're the one making it a problem, y/n. it's not my fault you're such a boring fucking person. god, i can't even comprehend why i wanted to date you!" he growls, his voice never shaking as he stares you straight in the eyes. he seems serious, but you knew that he always said things he never meant while under the influence.
it feels like your whole world just fell apart, though. your chest feels tighter and it's almost like you can barely breathe, gripping the doorframe tightly as you watch matt fiddle with the edge of his pillowcase. he really doesn't care, his eyes not showcasing any emotion other than hatred. or, that's what it seems. you want the tears to fall, but they don't. you want to leave, but you can't. you want matt to say something, maybe even take it back, but he doesn't.
you want to— "then why haven't you broken up with me?" stupid. the realization that you just spoke up hits you only when matt stands up from his bed, inching closer toward your small figure as he gets tilts his head to get a better look at you, "tell me, matt." again? just shut up!
"you're right, i really wonder why i didn't do this sooner." your eyes widen in the slightest, your heart dropping to your stomach as you stare up into his cold, blue eyes that once looked at you in adoration. the spark that was once there is gone now as he looks at you, squinting his eyes as he speaks, "we're over. get the fuck out of my room, y/n."
your lips part in a silent gasp, eyes searching his for any signs of hesitation or regret or something. nothing, once again. he scoffs when he takes a step back, crossing his arms in a mimicking manner as he nods his head toward the hallway behind you, "actually, get the fuck out of my house."
the sick feeling in your stomach never leaves even as you turn away from your boyf—ex, and walk through the hallway. you make your way down the stairs, not even stopping to say bye to nick or chris as you pass by them in the living room. all you do is keep your head down and drag your feet, grabbing your jacket off the rack before leaving through the front door. it slams behind you, but you don't care anymore. your whole world just fell apart right in the hands of the person who you loved most. in the hands of the person who you thought loved you the most.
matt didn't care, though. well, not until he replayed the earlier events in his head over and over again after he saw you leave down the stairs. the impact of his words didn't hit himself until you were finally gone and he was sitting in his room alone, surrounded by millions of memories of you and him. your clothes were still here, the things you bought for him, they were painful reminders of the words that he just spoke to you. he didn't even think about it when he said them, he was just spitting out anything that came to mind. he wasn't thinking of the consequences.
maybe he should run after you or maybe he should just sit here and drown in his sorrow and despair, that was the more reasonable option. for him at least. his mind is so loud right now, he doesn't even know what to think anymore. his body moves by itself, jolting forward as his feet take him running down the stairs. he skips steps, almost tripping over his untied shoelaces and stumbling down the last few. he takes a quick glance at the living room and kitchen, but you're not there.
party guests call matts name, but he's not listening. he's not interested in whatever bullshit they have to say right now because his mind is shouting at him to find you, to make things right and show you that he never meant it. he doesn't even notice that he's shoving party goers out of the way until someone pushes him back, resulting in the brunette getting splashed with some red beverage. his heart beats fast and hard, the sound loud and drowning out any other thing around him. we'll, besides the overwhelming thoughts of you.
he slips on one of chris's jackets, darting out the door and slamming it shut behind him. he doesn't see you in the driveway, no sight of your car down the street or on the side of the apartment. his ears pick up on the sound of a car beeping, and his head whips around to find a bike propped up against the garage door. it all happens so fast, he can't even remember when he started pedaling down the street and catching sight of your h/c hair through your car window. he waves, but you don't give him anything back.
it feels like he's invisible, and now he knows what you felt like tonight in that apartment, alone and unseen. unheard by any and everyone around you, including the love of your life. matt watches as you speed up, ready to round the corner deeper into the neighborhood. you really don't know where you're going, though. all you want right now is to just get away from the house and never come back, you didn't want to remember the events of tonight ever. your hands grip the steering wheel tightly as your foot presses even harder on the break.
the tears you held back earlier now begin to fall, and you mentally curse yourself for not holding them in longer. now you couldn't see anything, your vision blurry as you bring a hand up and off the steering wheel to wipe your eyes, trying to see through the windshield again. it doesn't work, and now you're just hoping that you won't lose control over the car. the limited time that your vision is cleared, you can see matt following close behind your car on a black bike, and your first instinct is to freeze and stare.
you don't make the turn, stomping on the brakes in the middle of the road as you watch your boy come closer and closer. his eyes widen, lips parting before you hear a cry of your name tumble from his lips. the only noise you hear is a loud horn coming from the left of you, your head whipping to the side and watching as a large truck comes your way at a fast pace. then, you hear the ringing in your ear, eyes squeezing shut as you let your arms fall to the side of you.
the truck t-bones your car, sending both of the vehicles flying to the right quickly. you smell gas, feeling the wet sensation of blood dripping down your temple and running down the bridge of your nose. your body feels weak, like you can't move, so you just sit there, head lying against the airbag on the steering wheel as you slip into unconsciousness. matt watches in shock and fear as your car tips on its side and smoke begins to erupt from the hood of the car. his heart feels like it stops beating for a moment as he watches the truck reverse and drive off quickly, anger coursing through his veins as he jumps off the bike and lets it fall to the pavement of the sidewalk.
he runs over to your car, his chest heaving up and down quickly as he makes an effort to tip the car back on its wheels. it doesn't work, though, and he grunts as he throws himself against the metal of the roof, "y/n, hey!" his voice seems to snap you out of your daze, now feeling fully conscious as your eyes flutter open again. your body fell against the car door, the seatbelt strap felt like it was suffocating you. the small space of the car suddenly made you weary, eyes widening as your breathing picked up rapidly.
"don't! stop, y/n, don't panic," matt breathes out, trying his best to come off as calm and collected. but he's really not, he's far from anything relatively close to the sort. more footsteps are heard behind him, and now his neighbor is standing a few feet beside matt, "what the fuck happened?"
"doesn't matter. js' help me flip the car, would you?" matt sighs, the panic in his body rising as the smell of gas surfaces. the car flips onto the wheels after quite a moment of struggles, and matt doesn't hesitate to throw youe car door open and grab you. his feet take him stumbling away from the car again, holding you tightly in his arms as if he let go, he would lose you. again. a string of coughs erupt from your throat as you and matt fall gently to the grass of someone's front yard, and matt lies you down as he props himself up with his elbows.
his neighbor is already far away, phone up to his ear as he watches the car explode into flames, the windows of nearby houses reflecting the burning red, orange, and blue lights. matt breathes out as he grips the fabric of his hoodie, more tears coming to his eyes at the realization that if he hadn't left sooner, you would've died. his head moves away entirely from the scene, looking back at your weak body that lay on the grass beside him.
only then does he notice the large gash just below your hairline, and his breath hitches again as he struggles to throw his hoodie over his head and hold it against your own. his other hand cradles the back of your head, his body hovering over yours as he silently prays that you'll be alright. the blood has already traveled down your neck, though. it soaks your white shirt as your head falls to the side, eyes threatening to close as you mutter out jumbled up words, "hey, hey, come on, look at me, y/n. please, look at me. open your eyes, come on..!"
"baby, please. just stay awake, please. my pretty girl, come on..!!" he whispers, anger overcoming his being as he grips the fabric in his hands tighter. he's so angry at himself. he wished he was the one in that car. he should've been the one to experience this, not you. you didn't deserve this at all. it was all his fault, what happened to you. what if he had just talked with you? what if he had just said sorry? what if, what if, what if?
the world seems to spinning faster than usual right now, your head aching as you look at your surroundings. as you look up at the sky, you're met with the cool shade of blue that slowly fades to orange and pink as it travels beneath the mountain until you can't see. then, you make out the frame of matts face, his eyes full of worry and his hair messy. tears stream down his face as he cried quietly, "matt?" you mutter weakly, eyes teary and bloodshot. he nods frantically, a small smile forming on his lips as he whispers, "yes, yes, yes. it's me." but then it all goes away.
matt? who was matt? your face contorts into a look of confusion as you try to tilt your head, only to hiss at the sting the small movement causes, "what—who? who are you?" the hope is washed away by those few words, and the brunettes smile disappears as he feels tiny, imaginary daggers stabbing away at his heart. he doesn't have time to speak before he finally hears the blaring sounds of sirens coming down the street. multiple emergency vehicles drive down the pavement quickly, stopping at the scene. matt is suddenly being pulled away from your frail body, fighting against the hands of the paramedics as he tries to yell out your name. nothing comes out, though, his voice too tired to be used anymore.
his vision is blurred, but he can still make out the way your eyes close softly as your head falls to the side. his heart shatters as he cries out your name finally, all the emotions so overwhelming he doesn't know what else to say. then his brothers are holding him close, trying to calm him down as all three of them stumble to the pavement of their driveway, "matt, hey, look at us. she'll be okay." nick whispers reassuringly, but he doesn't know if that's true. chris just stares blankly as the paramedics carry you on a gurney into the back of the ambulance.
your lip is busted, blood dripping down your head quickly and multiple bruises scattered across your body. the ambulance doors begin to close, and matt quickly jumps up from his place between his brothers and sprints towards the red car. his hands pry the doors open again, eyes wild as he stares at the caretakers in the back of the ambulance, "please, let me come. i need to be here with her, just—" one of the paramedics nod, and that's all the confirmation matt needs to jump into the back and take his place beside your head.
the car shakes subtly on the gravelly road, and the gentle coos of... him make your eyelids open slowly. you want to get up, so you make an effort to move yourself off the gurney in the back of the ambulance, but the paramedics only urge to stay where you're at, "you have to lay down, you're in terrible shape, sweetheart." but why? what even happened? where were you and why were you there?
who were these people? no, who was the guy right beside you who continued to stroke your hair gently? you don't even know yourself right now. did you hit your head? is that why it ached? what about your body? your eyes move around the small, confined space of the ambulance, stopping when you look out of the little window in the back door. the car continues to move down the street, but you still don't remember where you're going or where you were coming from.
"what happened?" you finally speak, but your voice is low and quiet, barely audible to anyone over the beeping of machines and the rocks beneath the road. matt sighs quietly, and now your attention is on him, "you got in a car crash. you're okay, now, so, don't worry." he gives you a gentle smile, but you only give him a look of confusion and worry.
"no?" you try to argue, looking around at the paramedics beside you. they only nod, and your heart drops once again. you were always a safe driver, or at least that's what you think in that moment. everything in your mind is so blurry you don't even remember what happened yesterday or what plans you made for the future. and still, you didn't know the guy touching your face.
matt watches as you space out, his thumb stroking your cheek affectionately as he frowns. he remembers the look on your face earlier that night, when he broke things off, and now it's back. that dumbfounded look that makes your lips part and your eyes squint subtly. you looked the same at times, even when half your face was beat up. he didn't care, though, he still thought you were beautiful, always. he brings his hand up to brush a stray hair out of your face, and only then do you turn your head to look at him again.
"who are you..?" you whisper, eyes looking him up and down. his hair is messy, eyes droopy, cheeks stained with tears, and his clothing is wrinkled. matt tilts his head, a smile coming to his face as more tears well up in his eyes, "you don't remember me?" you shake your head the best you can, squinting your eyes to try and get a better look at him. it feels like you should remember him, it seems like he was an important person in your life, but you can't quite grasp who he was to you.
"you don't even remember calling out to me?" another shake of your head, and matt inhales sharply. he wanted to scream and cry. he wanted you to comfort him. he wanted you back. but he should've known you wouldn't remember it. he should've taken the hint the moment you asked who he was. it still hurt, though. it felt like the entire world was bashing him. emotionally and physically, it hurt, the guilt weighing down on his shoulders as he stared at your confused face, sniffling quietly before he took his hands off your head.
the drive continues, but this time the tension is thicker then before. the silence is so loud, you barely hear the loud blaring of a truck horn coming from outside of the car. you flinch hard, eyes shutting closed as you try and shield your face. matt watches with teary eyes, letting out a breath of sympathy as he replays the events in his head. then, the entire thing comes back to you. the loud horn, the smell of gas, the blood sticking to your hair and the boy who came to save you.
red, orange, blue. the fire. the screams and the cries that the boy let out for you. he was the first person to come after you because he cared for you. you still didn't know why, though. why did he care so much? why did he feel the need to save you? "i told you even then you looked so pretty, y/n. you still do, you'll always be beautiful to me." the brunette whispered, leaning over your frail body as he gave you a gentle smile. his eyes were teary, though, and he looked hurt. very hurt.
"i—i'm sorry." is all you can say at the moment, eyes traveling to his as you frown. he shakes his head, lips parting to inhale shakily before he speaks, "don't be. ts' not you're fault," he smiles, but when he looks back into your eyes, they're swarming with the tiniest bit of guilt, "you do know that, right?" nothing but silence from your end. the boy takes your hand lightly, careful not to accidentally hurt you as he runs his thumb along the top, "it was never your fault, baby. i promise you, it was my—it was that truckers fault for not stopping."
your lips curve into the smallest smile as you make an effort to hold his hand, and the boy almost bursts out into sobs as he feels it. his head turns away from you for a few moments, trying to recollect himself as he takes deep breaths. when he finally looks back at you, your eyes are already on him, "i'm—i'm matt, you're boyfriend. but... we need to talk about a few things, 'kay..?"

2024 HRPF recs
As has become my wont, I spent the last few weeks trying to catch up on some of the new fics in the hockey RPF tag that I missed over the course of the year. I definitely didn't get to everything, or even all of the most popular ones; there may also be a bias towards shorter fics here, as I was trying to get through a lot. 😅 But I hope you enjoy, and possibly find a gem or two that you missed!
First, some general favorites:
Scoring Effects by @helenish (McDrai, 30K): Ah, Helenish. A goddess among us. I love a good mistaken identity story, and this is a GREAT mistaken identity story.
barons by dilangley (MattDrai, 43K): Future fic in which Houston gets its own expansion team, Matthew coaches it, and Leon and Trevor Zegras play on it. Gorgeously done. The Trevor POV section broke me a bit, but it was worth it.
Living Things by @makeit-takeit (TK/Patty, 115K so far): I am so deeply invested in this series. It's very real and vivid-feeling future fic that does an amazingly thoughtful job exploring the NHL wife-and-kids pipeline and what happens when that doesn't fit you as well as you thought it would. The stories that are written so far feel nicely complete, but if you'd rather hold out for the full HEA, you can check out her Wild Ice for a different highlight from the past year.
put the stars in our eyes by @notthequiettype (McDrai, 17K): the McWedding story that I wish I had written. I thought it was going to destroy me, and instead it left me all warm and fuzzy.
Lost and Found by angry_geno_is_score (MattDrai, 2K): angry_geno_is_score had so much to choose from this year, as always, and I loved this as a microcosm of the hurt/comfort they do so well. If you like it, you know where to find more from them!
Next, we move to the irresistible new Sharks babies. I'm not sure I can oversell how hot these three stories managed to be:
come on (leave me breathless) by countthestars @moondoggiestyle (Will/Mack, 10K): I've already talked about how much I loved this one. There can never be too many stories of one player catching the other getting off in the shower, especially if they're as hot as this.
revising the shoreline by ohyellowbird @teex (Will/Mack, 6K): another super well done exploring-their-sexuality-while-not-talking-about-it story, aka my kryptonite.
teamwork makes the dreamwork by canary @bigdogenergy (Will/Mack and Will/Mack/Ryan Leonard, 19K): I'm sure a lot of you have already read this in the last week or so, but I couldn't not recommend it. Mack goes into heat and Will needs an alpha to help him out. Who to call but the ex?
And then we enter the realm of vaguely devastating but gorgeously written JDTZ trade fics:
home by now by donderwolk @donderwolkenblog (Jamie/Trevor, 6K): The moment they found out about the trade, and a little bit after. Brilliant, impeccable, ruinous.
heat check by jolach @hyggles (Jamie/Trevor and also Carts/Richie, 4K): Outsider perspective on Jamie and especially Trevor as they deal with the aftermath of the trade, through the eyes of Mike Richards, who may have some experience in the area. I don't know how anyone writes this well, honestly.
Finally, one of my favorite things about reading through the past year's fics is finding a prolific new author I love who I had totally missed in my year of mostly reading people I'm already subscribed to. This year it was unsay (@tungpin). They seem to have started writing HRPF this year, and they tend toward the kind of complicated sometimes-ambiguous stories that I never manage to write but love to read. Here are a few of my favorites of theirs from this year:
malt (MattDrai, 4K): Leon meets Sasha Barkov and has feelings about how he wants to be more serious than Matthew does (OR DOES HE).
accessory to the rockstar (McDrai, 5K): once again we have Leon having thoughts about how he feels more than the person he's into, this time about Connor. Bittersweet and lovely.
the care and keeping (Jamie/Trevor, 12K): in which Trevor's friends get on Jamie's case about neglecting him post-trade, and Jamie does something about it.
That's it from me, at least for now! I know there were many excellent stories this year I didn't get to, especially the long ones that I just didn't commit to while reading for this list. Perhaps this is the year I do what I've been telling myself to do for the past two years and keep track of what I read and love throughout the year. We can only dream. 😅
Happy reading!!
