Could i ask your thoughts on the shiro clone theory? Like if the shiro with them right now isnt the real one i might cry

okay!! i’ll break down the theory for anyone who isn’t familiar with it first. 

Basically, when we first saw Shiro in season three, he had super long hair and torn clothes, and was in a Galra base, which he then escaped. The sketchy facts being that one, they talked about a “operation Kuron” (”kuron” in japanese means “clone”) and two, he wasn’t restrained to begin with and the way the Galra tried to prevent his escape was tepid at best, which makes me think it was more for scene than anything. We’ll come back to this point later.

After escaping, he finds his way to the other paladins exc. We see some pretty odd-feeling interactions, and a Shiro that seems kind of detached, and that the Black Lion doesn’t accept (except for the fact that it roared when Shiro appeared, but one might argue that whoever it is, this person has Shiro’s appearance and his memories). He also cuts his hair in a different (a bit wonky, sorry Kuron) way, which can be a personal misguided choice or just because the memories the presumed clone has are a little fuzzy. 

The theories are two: one, there is a cloned!Shiro on the run and he’s actually now the one with the paladins.

Two, the real Shiro’s mind has been somewhat tampered with, like, they installed some chip into his head and have now a way of controlling him/making him do what they want?

Honestly, the clone!Shiro theory makes a lot of sense. Not taking in consideration that when Shiro was teletransported he was in his armor, because it might be possible that the Galra have taken it in custody, his hair was still definitely too long?? Season three takes place right after season two, and his hair then was shaved, it takes a lot more time to grow like that. The escape seemed staged, and the Galra gave just a little bit of resistance. Why? Because the clone/mind-meddled Shiro doesn’t have to know it’s all part of their plan, phase three of operation Kuron.

So this clone, that we are calling Kuro/n, doesn’t actually know anything. Or maybe he does, and he’s been faking all along? Unlikely that he knows, because we see his memories before “dying” and he was desperate to find his way back. It’s not so far fetched. 

Or, wild but hear me out: what if, the Shiro we knew all along was also a clone?? What if this scruffed looking, confused puppy eyed guy with super long hair is the original Shiro, who has been under the Galra’s power all along? What if they kept him as a subject and decided to send one of their cloned copies to Earth, and it was then found by Lance, Keith, Hunk and Pidge and subsequently became the black paladin? What if they had a way to take him back all along, and when he defeated Zarkon they teletransported him back to their base and got his memories, transferred them back to the original Shiro because they had no use of him anymore? What if there are multiple clones???? (the last one is actually pulled out of my ass, but it would be cool)

here you can find another theory post. There’s a lot, and I haven’t read them all, but while it may sound like conspiracy theories, there is something off about Shiro, in one way or another. Maybe it’s just mind-meddling, or maybe not. Either way, Operation Kuron is a thing that’s happening.

Personally, I like the idea of this Shiro being a clone. But a nice one, who thinks he’s the real Shiro. In that case, give the real Shiro back to us, please and thank you.

Unrelated, but I think they missed a really good chance when they let him cut his hair back, because I really wanted to see a ponytail.
