Relentless direct action has secured another victory in the fight against Israel’s arms trade, as Elbit Systems are forced to sell their ‘Elite KL’ factory in Tamworth.
The company had previously manufactured cooling and power management systems for military vehicles, but was sold on after stating that it faced falling profits and increased security costs resulting from Palestine Action’s efforts.
After the sale was completed last month, Elite KL’s new owners, listed as Griffin Newco Ltd, confirmed in an email to Palestine Action that they will have nothing to do with the previous owners, Elbit, and have discontinued any arms manufacturing:
“Following the recent acquisition of Elite KL Limited by a UK investment syndicate, the newly appointed board has unanimously agreed to withdraw from all future defence contracts and terminate its association with its former parent company”.
This victory is a direct result of sustained direct action which has sought, throughout Palestine Action’s existence, to make it impossible for Elbit to afford to operate in Britain. Before they sold the enterprise to a private equity syndicate, Elbit had reported that Elite KL operating profits had been slashed by over three-quarters, with Palestine Action responsible: Elbit directly cited the increased expenditure on security they’d been forced to make, and higher supply chain costs they faced.
And these actions did, indeed, cost them. The first action at the site, in November 2020, saw Elite KL’s premises smashed into, the building covered in blood-red paint. Between March and July 2021, the site was put out of action three times by roof-top occupations – drenched red in March 2021, with the factory’s camera systems dismantled, before again being occupied in in May. Another roof-top occupation in July, despite increased security, saw the site forced closed – once again painted blood-red, and with its windows and fixings smashed through.
In February 2022, activists decommissioned the site for weeks – closed off after an occupation that saw over £250,000 of damages caused, the roof tiles removed one-by-one. After this, Elbit erected a security perimeter around the site – but to no avail. One month later, six were arrested after Palestine Action returned to Tamworth – again taking the roof and smashing through, preventing the production of parts for Israel’s military machine.
Elite KL is a ‘specialist thermal management business’. Since the sale, the company focuses on cooling systems for buses and trains, but it had, under Elbit, manufactured these systems for military vehicles. Until December of last year, Elite KL’s website was advertising its military and defence products, and it was known to provide parts for Israel’s deadly Merkava tanks, with export license records demonstrating its provision of ‘ML6a’ components for military ground vehicles to Israel. The company was also known to manufacture crew cooling systems, for the military vests of tank operators.
Elbit Systems itself provides 85% of the drones and land-based military equipment for the Israeli military, along with a wide range of the munitions and armaments currently being used against Gaza’s beseiged population. Its CEO, Bazhalel Machlis, has claimed that the Israeli military has offered the company its thanks for their “crucial” services during the ongoing genocide in Gaza
A Palestine Action spokesperson has stated:
“Each activist who occupied and dismantled Tamworth’s Israeli weapons factory did so in order to bring an end to Israel’s weapons trade, and to end the profiteering from Palestinian repression. Every defeat Elbit faces is a victory for the Palestinian people.
Kicking Elbit out of Tamworth shows once again that direct action is a necessary tactic. It is one which must be utilised and amplified in the face of the Gaza genocide.”

Orion
“A poor man's Atlas”
The Orion was built in 2456 as the first true heavy BattleMech. Originally designed for the Terran Hegemony to maintain its dominance and built on Hesperus II, the Orion is a dependable workhorse design that can handle almost any combat role, thanks to its mix of long and short-range weaponry and its respectable armoring. After the K model was introduced in 2525, the 'Mech first saw combat during the Reunification War and continued to serve the Star League and its Member States for the next few centuries. Perhaps its most famous role was as the personal 'Mech of Aleksandr Kerensky during the Amaris Civil War, and it was while piloting his Orion that the General kicked down the palace doors to take the Usurper prisoner.
The inspiration for the Orion's beginnings is said to be a direct result of Operation PROMETHEUS when the Terran Hegemony realized they would no longer be the sole user of BattleMechs. Work began shortly after with the Hegemony Armed Forces requesting machines suited for various combat roles, and the Hegemony's military leadership were soon accepting proposals for competing designs almost simultaneously. With other designs already underway, it would be General Mechanics winning a contract for a proposal that would ultimately become the Hegemony's premier heavy attack BattleMech: the Orion. Ironically, GM had actually unveiled a prototype as early as 2453, but the HAF, while interested at the time, were dismissive as it did not meet the High Command's requirements for speed and armor, and its armament was considered too lackluster for a front-line war machine. GM had returned to the drawing board in the following years, further refining their design by settling for a smaller, less powerful engine to free up weight for additional weaponry. It would not be until GM's third prototype—the ON1-H, which mounted a newly developed class-10 heavy autocannon—that the HAF would finally approve the design one year following Operation PROMETHEUS in 2456. Following the successful introduction of the prototype, the HAF immediately pushed General Mechanics to produce as many Orions as possible. The armed forces of the Hegemony quickly assigned them to BattleMech regiments in whole companies at a time, adding to their growing ranks of Mackies, Banshees, and later Archers and Griffins.
After the fall of the Star League, Kali Yama Weapons Industries took over production of the Orion, building new models from their factories on Kalidasa. This left the Free Worlds League as the only producer of new Orions during the Succession Wars, although the other Successor States were capable of building spare parts to repair their 'Mechs, and meant the Free Worlds League Military was the largest Orion user. When Kali Yama merged to create the Kali Yama - Alphard Trading Corporation, Orion production was started up on Kendall as well. The League's dominance in new Orions began to change during the Clan Invasion when the Successor States met on Outreach and agreed to work together to combat the Clans. Kali Yama/ATC was among those companies which agreed to sell war matériel, including the Orion, to the other States undergoing Clan attacks. In spite of the design's age it still finds itself utilized extensively on the modern battlefield and new variants continue to be produced.
The Orion has a varied weapons mix. The 'Mech's primary long-range weapon is a KaliYama Death Bloom LRM-15 launcher mounted in the left torso along with two tons of reloads. While an accurate weapon useful against both land and air targets the system's control cables travel through a narrow area in the shoulder. This area is potentially subject to excessive heat, which can cause either the weapon or actuator to shut down. For intermediate ranges, the Orion carries a KaliYama Class 10 Autocannon/10 in its right torso with two tons of ammo. For centuries the ammunition feed to the cannon suffered regular jamming unless pilots loaded nineteen salvos instead of the full twenty in the ammunition magazine. This defect was eventually solved in the 3030s by Norse-Storm BattleMechs, although the fact that the weapon's placement limits right-arm movement and can be knocked out of alignment if accidentally struck couldn't be helped. Finally, for close-range combat, the Orion has an Irian Weapons Works Class 4 SRM-4 launcher in the left torso fed by a one-ton bin of ammo and two Irian Weapons Works medium lasers; one in each arm.
Carrying fourteen and a half tons of armor gives the Orion superior protection to most other heavy 'Mechs, with its chest and rear torso being the most and least protected respectively. Combined with an average cruising speed of 43.2 km/h the 'Mech is a challenging opponent. Only ten heat sinks mounted in the engine leaves the Orion vulnerable to overheating but experienced pilots know to avoid this issue by alternating weapon firings. Technicians love the Orion, because its spacious interior makes performing repairs and maintenance far easier than many other 'Mechs; this is also the reason for the design's longevity.

An Upgraded Union dropship lands to pickup the escaping lance.
Ground attack Armament: 2x Gauss, 2x ER PPC, 2x ER Large laser, 4x LRM 20. And sits at level 10 with a base -2 to gunnery for being a dropship... So good luck hiding.

So Timberwolf loses significant armour from Gauss, ppc, and laser fire.
Meanwhile a lucky gauss rifle goes through my mad dogs cockpit and he thankfully dropped the elementals that turn so they won't go up with him.
We pepper the enemy stinger but spite heaps of damage, the stinger doesn't quite go down and escapes via the dropship.

The griffin wasn't so lucky - my viper jumps behind and misses 80% of his armament at point blank with pulse lasers! But the final ER Medium and Micro Pulse laser both strike the left rear torso, and drill through the engine with 4 crits. Engine destruction.
The vindicator then puts a sword through my CT and I'm dead... (Also more on this)
In the end the vindicator shuts down going out guns blazing and the bushwhacker also escapes despite heavy damage and most of the armament critted out.
We keep the vindicator and pilot as bondsman, but lost an Adder, Viper, and Mad Dog (although salvageable once we hose out the bloody nickel cobalt gauss shrapnel)
We called it a pyric victory only due to taking a prisoner, otherwise it'd be a loss for the clans.

AC-130J Ghostrider Gunship Has Operated From A Highway For The First Time
Operating from highways could make AC-130J gunships more survivable and flexible, but questions remain about their role in high-end fights.
Joseph Trevithick Posted on Aug 5, 2024 1:51 PM EDT
The US Air Force says an AC-130J Ghostrider gunship has operated from a highway for the first time as part of the service's larger push to reduce its dependence on traditional runways. This is also comes amid questions about the future of the gunships in future high-end fights.
USAF capture
An AC-130J Ghostrider gunship has operated from a highway for the first time during a recent exercise, according to the U.S. Air Force. This reflects a push across the U.S. military to be less dependent on traditional runways and established bases that would be high-priority targets for enemy forces during a future major conflict, such as one in the Pacific against China. This also comes as hard questions are being asked about what roles and missions there might be for the AC-130J in a high-end fight after the type has spent the past two decades supporting counter-terrorism and other lower-intensity operations.
The AC-130J in question landed on and then subsequently took off from a stretch of U.S. Highway 63 in Bono, Arkansas, on August 4 as part of the larger Emerald Warrior Field Training Exercise II (FTX II). An MC-130J Commando II special operations tanker-transport, a C-146A Wolfhound special operations light transport aircraft, and a standard C-130H cargo plane also participated in the road operations training. With the exception of the C-130H, all of these aircraft were from units assigned to Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC). The C-130H was from the Arkansas Air National Guard’s 189th Airlift Wing.
“The MC-130J crew then set up a Forward Arming and Refueling Point (FARP), as the AC-130J assigned to the 1st Special Operations Wing at Hurlburt Field, Florida, made its approach, landed, refueled, rearmed, and took off again,” according to an Air Force release. “The primary objective of this exercise was to validate AFSOC’s capability to operate in austere environments with minimal infrastructure.”
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/d3592e4d228c416a59592afac7e103b8/aa3e930fac3973d1-bc/s540x810/7329f99805c93c1bc842331d7c7af5be4277bcc7.jpg)

“The exercise provided an opportunity for participating units to refine their skills and advance ongoing pathfinding and experimentation efforts within AFSOC,” the release added.
A picture for the road operations portion of Emerald Warrior FTX II showed what appears to be a Common Launch Tube (CLT) being unloaded from a transit canister. What other munitions Air Force personnel may have practiced loading aboard the AC-130J in this austere environment is unclear.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/913655a050112ce4ce173b6dcc6c2290/aa3e930fac3973d1-bd/s540x810/cbcdbf021b30613fee4a21dff2d36948e8a792a1.jpg)

The AC-130J’s current armament package consists of a 30mm automatic cannon and a 105mm howitzer that fire out the left side of the aircraft, as well as the ability to employ a variety of precision-guided bombs and missiles. This includes precision munitions that are launched via CLTs, such as the GBU-44/B Viper Strike glide bomb and AGM-176 Griffin missile.
“This exercise serves as a significant milestone for AFSOC, demonstrating our ability to operate in diverse and austere environments,” Tech. Sgt. Robert Gallagher, assigned to the AFSOC Air Commando Development Center, who acted as the lead planner for the highway landings, said, according to the Air Force release. “By leveraging ACE concepts, we enhance our operational flexibility and resilience.”
ACE here stands for Agile Combat Employment, which refers to a set of concepts of operations centered on expeditionary and distributed deployments that occur at irregular intervals across a broadening number of operating locations. The core function of ACE is to upend enemy targeting cycles, and by extension reduce the vulnerability of friendly forces, by operating in a less predictable fashion. The video at the top of this story from Emerald Warrior FTX II highlights all of this by showing the AC-130J being able to get in and out relatively quickly. The C-130 family’s impressive reverse thrust capability is on display, as well.
Being able to operate from remote and austere environments, such as highways, is a key element of current ACE planning. As such, the Air Force special operations aircraft, like MC-130Js and C-146As, as well as conventional ones, like A-10 Warthog ground attack aircraft and standard C-130 cargo planes, have been conducting road operations training on an increasingly regular basis. MQ-9 Reaper drones have also participated in similar exercises in the past.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/00fdd6d29e02c4aafc77f4a50502e148/aa3e930fac3973d1-dd/s500x750/d737f715fc2d5d0d75432aa5d20d1b2ec20f1792.jpg)
Other services have been involved in this new burst of roadway exercises in the past few years. The U.S. Marine Corps has also been very actively training to use roads and other alternatives to large traditional runways as part of the service’s own array of new expeditionary and distributed concepts of operations.
AFSOC, as well as other elements of the U.S. special operations community, already have a long history of operating from impromptu forward locations, often in sensitive or denied areas, but generally on a more ad-hoc mission-to-mission basis.
“We’ve recently been returning to tactics, techniques, and procedures to find out where all of the 3,000-foot straight highways in the world are” as part of a broader push to become “runway agnostic,” Air Force Lt. Gen. Tony Bauernfeind, then head of AFSOC, said last year. Bauernfeind is now superintendent of the United States Air Force Academy.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/f0a876af3b1499bb5624bfa368801265/aa3e930fac3973d1-c4/s540x810/59756db28aa00be05164f0be3dde9134dcf3c1ea.jpg)

For AC-130Js operating in their traditional special operations support role, being able to operate from roads and other remote locations on a more general basis could help allow them to fly (as well as refuel and rearm) closer to designated operating areas. This could increase their time on station and shorten how long it might take them to get to and from where they need to be, as well as just generally expand their operational flexibility.
At the same time, as the U.S. military shifts its main focus away from counter-terrorism and other low-intensity missions to preparing for high-end operations, especially in a potential future conflict against China, questions have emerged about AC-130J’s future. Even during the past two decades of support operations in largely permissive airspace over places like Iraq and Afghanistan, AC-130 gunships have operated almost exclusively at night in part to reduce vulnerability to potential threats from the ground. The War Zone just explored these broader issues facing the Ghostrider in the context of a rare appearance by one of the gunships at a sinking exercise (SINKEX) during the larger biennial Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exercise, which just wrapped last week.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/72464b0fe6502696c23df8c0b33e3860/aa3e930fac3973d1-1f/s540x810/08be2a2c3784edc93fc0685c21d890a9b54b2e4b.jpg)

The Air Force is in the midst now of a review of the Ghostrider’s current and future capabilities that could lead to the aircraft losing their iconic, but relatively short-ranged 105mm howitzers. A plan to integrate a laser-directed energy weapon, described originally as having immense potential in lower-intensity warfare contexts, has already been scrapped.
There is growing emphasis now on increasing the AC-130J’s stand-off strike capabilities, including through the addition of small cruise missiles to the Ghostrider’s arsenal. The Air Force is looking into the potential of using other C-130 variants, including MC-130Js, as well as the C-17, as launch platforms for larger cruise missiles and other munitions using a palletized system called Rapid Dragon.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/6e7b3352512da86274c3070dd22239ce/aa3e930fac3973d1-a5/s500x750/a65f7621d2525e9fdb58d1770e3ea0dd62cd4f23.jpg)
In addition, AFSOC is interested in adding a new active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar to the AC-130Js to help extend the reach of their targeting capabilities, as well as provide added situational awareness. The gunships have already been receiving upgrades to their electronic warfare and communications suites.
The AC-130J, its capabilities, and its roles and missions appear set to evolve significantly in the coming years. Operating more regularly from highways and other roads looks now to be on the horizon for the Ghostriders.

A sneak peek at my upcoming story
LOVE SHACK
“How is Idylhaven? Has Fanny made any more friends?” Kate asked. Yelena wished Kate was teasing, but she heard the genuine concern in the question. She sighed.
“It’s nice. Griffin is adorable and so smart. They really helped me with Armament. I know Sabine will miss them when they go to college.” Yelena said.
“They sound great. If I didn’t have to sell Bishop Security, they would totally have a place there.” Kate said. Yelena smiled.
“I know,” Yelena said. Kate looked at Yelena, a question poised on her tongue. And Yelena knew what the question was.
“Go ahead…ask it,” Yelena whispered. Kate let out a scoff.
“How do you know me so well?” Kate asked seriously.
“I told you…” Yelena began but was cut off by Kate.
“It’s deeper than that. Yes, you know how to collect data and retain it. You know how to read body language. But this is deeper. You are in my head…” Kate said. Yelena was speechless. She didn’t know when the assignment turned into true feelings and friendship.
“I…I don’t know how to answer that, Kate…” Yelena said.
“It’s okay,” Kate said with a small smile, “But yes…my question is, how is Zelda?”
Yelena could hear a tinge of something in the question.
“I don’t know…I’m here with you,” Yelena teased.
“Yelena…” Kate rolled her eyes.
“Well…what about you and Franny?” Yelena asked, hearing the same tinge of whatever it was from Kate’s question within her own words.
“Franny?” Kate frowned.
“Yes, Franny. You two were dancing pretty closely.” Yelena said. Kate rolled her eyes.
“You’re deflecting,” Kate huffed.
“I’m merely observing,” Yelena said.

VLD S7E10: Heart of the Lion
Season 7, Episode 10: Heart of the Lion
Transcript by @dragonofyang
Episode Summary: Shiro awakens to his new prosthetic, and the Paladins of Voltron team up with the MFE Pilots to infiltrate a Galra base on Earth. Using the intel gathered, they then stage an attack to destroy Sendak's Zaiforge cannons before they can launch.
[Google Doc]
Sam: How are you feeling, Shiro?
Shiro: Good. I’m good.
Sam: I’m happy to tell you we’ve successfully attached your new prosthetic arm. We just need to power it on and make any final adjustments. We’ve outfitted it with the most powerful energy source Earth has to offer. It’s the closest we could get to mimicking a Balmera crystal’s energy. It should generate enough power to operate most of it. The remaining power will be drawn from your body’s own electromagnetic field.
Shiro: [screams]
Sam: He’s crashing! We have to shut it down!
Allura: Sam! We need to remove the power source.
Shiro: What–what happened? I feel… strange. I feel… great.
[Scene change to a Garrison meeting room.]
Pidge: We’ve learned so much from Sendak’s memories. We discovered his methods for taking over planets like Earth. Sendak constructs armaments at key strategic points around planets. This gives him the ability to control enormous swaths of territory. He uses the armaments as deterrents to prevent any uprisings and to control the conquered population.
Veronica: Based on data from Commander Holt’s micro-satellites, cross-referenced with resistance intel, we’ve ascertained that Sendak built six massive structures on Earth. We never knew what they were being used for until now.
Hunk: They’re the weapons? So, what’s stopping us from blowing them up?
Sanda: We simply don’t have enough firepower to do the job. And even if we did, there’s a good chance those facilities contain civilians. We can’t just go in blind.
Shiro: Admiral Sanda’s right. That’s why we should infiltrate a base and gather intelligence first.
Veronica: The nearest base is 52 klicks south of our position.
Shiro: What’s the terrain like?
Veronica: The region around what we’ll call “Base One” is a complex urban environment. Our route will take us through highly patrolled areas. It’ll be hard to keep proper surveillance of our surroundings due to all the structural damage.
Shiro: Then I suggest we form two teams: a ground unit that will attempt to infiltrate Base One and get eyes on whatever’s inside, and a sniper team that observes from a higher position, covering the ground unit and providing some visibility.
Veronica: Use communications sparingly. Stay on the move. Keep an eye on the timing patterns of the patrol drones. Pidge, Keith, Allura, and Griffin, you’re the ground unit. Hunk, Kinkade, Lance, and I will be sniper support.
Lance: You know, a map would’ve been just fine. You didn’t need to come along on this mission.
Veronica: What are you talking about? I’ve been going on these missions for months now. No one knows the terrain better than me.
Lance: Yeah, I just don’t like to see you put yourself in danger.
Veronica: First of all, that’s very sweet, but knock it off. You’re an idiot if you think I’m not going to defend our home.
Hunk: So, uh, you excited about this mission? Yeah. Totally. I feel the same.
[Scene change to the sniper nest.]
Hunk: No transmissions. Varied radiation signatures.
Keith: Approaching target location.
Veronica: Copy that, ground unit. We’ve got eyes on you.
Lance: Drone patrol ahead.
Keith: This is as close as we’re gonna get. Pidge and I are going in.
Griffin: Negative. Route’s obstructed. It’s too well guarded.
Keith: Lance, you ready to cover us when we get inside?
Lance: Ready to go.
Allura: It’s a cosmic wolf.
Griffin: Huh. I’ve got to get me one of those.
[Cut to Pidge and Keith inside the base.]
Pidge: We need to find a port where I can hack in. A control panel or substation.
Keith: Got it.
Lance: Gotcha, Keith. Scanning for hostiles. Sentries on the other side of the east wall.
Keith: Lance?
Lance: You’re clear. Okay, you guys are gonna have to take the right tunnel. But wait! There are sentries approaching from both tunnels. Hold position. Coming up to you in three, two, one.
[Cut to the sniper nest.]
Kinkade: That thing pick up heat signatures?
Lance: It actually locks onto their suits’ sonar imaging and renders a 3D map within a 20-foot perimeter. It’s cool Paladin stuff.
Kinkade: I’ve got movement to the north. Drones closing in on your positions from the adjacent alley.
Allura: We’ve been spotted.
Kinkade: Hang tight.
Griffin: I think you guys made them angry.
Veronica: I’ve got five hostiles.
Kinkade: I’ll take the three on the right.
Lance: I’ve got the other two.
Allura: Thanks.
Lance: No problem.
Veronica: She’s pretty.
Lance: I don’t know what you’re talking about.
Allura: Lance, Kinkade, more sentries incoming.
[Cut to Pidge and Keith in the base.]
Pidge: I’m in. Downloading intel.
Keith: What is this?
Pidge: It’s a Zaiforge cannon.
Keith: What?
Pidge: Each base must be building one.
[Cut to the sniper nest.]
Hunk: Cover is definitely blown, guys!
Lance: Keith, Pidge, it’s time to roll!
Keith: Copy that.
Lance: Veronica, detonate the chaff.
Veronica: Rendezvous at your cruisers. We only have a couple of minutes until the sentries gain vision again.
Keith: Let’s move out.
[Scene change back to the Garrison meeting room.]
Pidge: Sendak has built Zaiforge cannons. Our intel indicates the cannons were just completed. They could launch at any time.
Iverson: What exactly is a Zaiforge cannon?
Keith: Planet killers. If these cannons launch and are fully charged, Sendak will be able to destroy Earth in seconds.
Rizavi: So what do we do?
Keith: Ideally, we attack all six bases at once, allowing them no time to stage a counterattack.
Sanda: That’s not possible.
Keith: If we had our Lions, it could be. We’ll have to find another way to retrieve them since the ship we rode in on crashed.
Sanda: Your Lions are orbiting another planet. There’s no way to get you to them. Plus there are only five Lions.
Shiro: The MFEs would need to attack the sixth cannon.
Griffin: We’d love to, but they don’t have that kind of range.
Coran: There should be enough faunatonium to boost the MFEs to the sixth base and back.
Pidge: That’s great and all, but Admiral Sanda has a point. We can’t get to our Lions.
Shiro: You don’t need to go to them. They’ll come to you. As Paladins of Voltron, you can connect with your Lions. They will come.
Hunk: From Saturn?
Shiro: From anywhere. You’ve been training for this since the very beginning. Each of you has forged a bond with your Lion. Tap into it.
Lance: Our Lions did come to us when we were lost in space.
Keith: And Red saved my life numerous times.
Allura: Yes, it’s possible. So we’ll call the Lions to meet us here.
Pidge: We’ll need the element of surprise. The Lions will have to rendezvous with us at the bases.
Hunk: Yeah, that will really catch the Galra off-guard. I mean, assuming our Lions respond to our calls. What if they don’t come?
Shiro: They’ll come. And when they do, you will strike and destroy all six cannons simultaneously before they can be launched. And when the job’s done, you can form Voltron and finish off Sendak and the rest of his forces.
Griffin: My pilots can transport four of you to the Galra bases before heading out to the sixth cannon.
Veronica: I’ll bring Lance to Base One. It’s the closest, so I can do it by ground.
Shiro: It’s settled, then. While Veronica drops Lance at Base One, the MFEs will each fly a Paladin out to a base. The Paladins should reach the drop zones at exactly the same time the Lions arrive. Then the MFEs will head to the sixth base. We’ll launch a coordinated attack on all six locations at once.
[Scene change to the day of the mission.]
Allura: Lance.
Lance: Huh?
Allura: I, uh– I just wanted to say… I wanted to say… stay safe out there.
Lance: You too, Allura.
Veronica: Looks like the princess likes you back.
Lance: What?! That’s crazy! She just cares about everyone because she’s awesome like that.
[Cut to the MFEs and Paladins taking off.]
Shiro: Paladins, our window of opportunity is razor thin. With the element of surprise, we’ll have the advantage. Good luck.
Lance: We’ve been spotted! Watch out, okay? Be careful!
Veronica: I know!
Rizavi: Now let’s see how this faunatonium works.
[Cut to Garrison Command.]
Iverson: Four of the five Paladins have reached their drop zones. Just waiting on Lance.
Shiro: Lance, where are you? Can you hear me?
Lance: Whoa. Veronica, look out!
Shiro: Oh no.
Allura: Lance!
[Cut to Lance waking up.]
Allura: Lance, are you there?
Hunk: Lance, where are you, buddy?
Pidge: Lance, can you hear us?
Keith: Lance? Lance, come in!
Lance: Veronica? Veronica! No. Veronica!
Veronica: Lance…
Lance: Veronica, you’re okay.
[Cut to Garrison Command.]
Lance: Red Lion, checking in!
Iverson: We have all Lions. It worked!
[Cut to the bases.]
Hunk: Ah, I’m taking heavy fire!
Allura: Something’s wrong!
Lance: These aren’t normal base defenses!
Pidge: I’m pinned down!
Griffin: Keith, what do we do?
Keith: Do what you have to. We can’t let those cannons launch!
Griffin: They’re everywhere!
Hunk: Come on!
Allura: There’s too many! Watch out!
Lance: I’m coming!
Rizavi: We need backup!
Shiro: They were ready for us.
[Cut back to the bases.]
Keith: Focus on the Zaiforge cannons. Stop them from launching!
Griffin: Base Six is launching!
Lance: I can’t get near Base One’s cannon!
Allura: I can’t stop the launch!
Hunk: Me neither!
Pidge: How did this happen?
Keith: Sendak must have known we were coming. But how?
[Cut to Sendak’s flagship.]
Sendak: Your intel was correct after all. Prepare the cannons for launch.
[Cut back to Earth.]
Allura: We were too late! The cannons have launched and we’re exposed. Sendak knows we’re here with our Lions.
Lance: What do we do now?
Keith: MFEs, return to the garrison.
MFE Pilots: Roger that.
Keith: Paladins, we need to cut the head off the snake. Taking out Sendak is our last option. Everyone, converge!
[Cut to Sendak’s ship.]
Sendak: Align the cannons.
[Cut to the Paladins.]
Keith: Form Voltron!
[Cut to Sendak.]
Sendak: Fire Zaiforge cannons!
[End.]

I had this idea and sketched it down near the end of 2022, and I intended to make a more finished design sketch or even a finished pinup, but I've had so little time to draw lately it just hasn't happened yet... Never the less, I still like this sketch a lot, so here's a somewhat cleaned up version!
Griffin Armament makes all sorts of parts, with suppressors being a specialty... They also make some sweet t-shirts too, and being me, I couldn't help but imagine a sexy anthro version of their logo's heraldic gryphon / griffin silhouette.

During the Shadow Siege event, what villains or environmental disasters does the Rescue Team deal with on Griffin Rock?
Is there any time they have to go help Corazon and Optimus Team?
Quicksand phenomenon i.e people sinking in any material caused by Shadow Senior Pink. The shadow was stopped by reuniting him with his lost (reincarnated) baby and the child given to a loving family. Property damage but no casualties or serious injuries.
Onslaught of thefts and people suddenly slowing down thanks to Shadow Foxy. Everyone had to beat him in three games in order to dispel the shadow. Stolen items were given back and there was some bouts of vertigo but otherwise no damage. A Shadow Alarm is invented afterwards.
Graffiti related incidents cause by Shadow Miss Goldenweek. Boulder had to paint her favorite flowers, clues were found in the Shadowzone, to stop her. He received a painting from the shadow.
There had only been two times(not Hody)where battle oriented help was needed.
Shadow Akainu reactivated the artificial volcano then start to seep lava into people's homes. Jinbe alongside Corazón went to fight the shadow while Nami, Usopp, Optimus and Jack help protect the people. There were some mild injuries but no deaths. Chopper pretend to be a custom made robot so he could tend the wounded. Usopp and Franky helped repair the damaged homes while the latter dealt with the artificial volcano.
Shadow Diamante began flattening people like paper at impromptu times. This had led to a car wreck, a stove setting ablaze, and a few citizens nearly floating away in the wind with Cody included. Heatwave dove into the Shadowzone in fury which led to Corazón following behind to back him up. The two took out the shadow reversing all the effects. No casualties but there were cases of vertigo and Heatwave gain Armament Haki.

Welcome to G.R.O.S.S!
It looks like Calvin found something he shouldn't have...
Characters:
In an alternate universe of Calvin and Hobbes, The Supreme ruler and Dictator-for-life and his trusty first officer/president(Who in this alternate reality is alive[Don't question it]), led a group of soldiers (he had a few friends in this reality) deep into the "Jungle" for an exploratory mission. The jungle was just the woods behind his house.
Suddenly, one of his men (whose name has been stricken from G.R.O.S.S records) fell through a patch of loose dirt. What he found? An underground complex, long abandoned, made by some unknown race. The president and a detachment of three men stood guard, while Calvin led an expedition into the winding, labyrinthine halls.
All rooms were empty but one, obscured by fabric and debris. What they found inside would change the course of history.
And lo, beyond the gate stretched an infinite plane of wooden stools. After about 2 days, the portal shut down. You can guess what they did with it after that.
MEET THEM ALL:
Infantry: The Backbone of G.R.O.S.S. Usually operate behind the world's prying eye, and rely on such groups as the government and SCP foundation to stay out of the cameras. Wield unusual energy weapons that, when fired at living beings, will cause sudden pains! Goes from "Griffin's knee" to "Taser". Their armor is constructed of...something, that seems to be indestructible, and their gas mask filters out most lethal toxins.
Public Relations Infantry: These guys have the unfortunate roles of being the facade G.R.O.S.S puts up. They are very poorly armed, bringing to bear a wide variety of sad-looking airsoft armaments. Their only claim to fame is possessing the worlds only fully-functional airsoft vehicles, including tanks, armored cars, and a number of drones. The more fortunate ones serve as scouts in the main bulk of the force.
*Riotman: It was a tough decision to allow twelve year olds join the ranks, but a role was eventually found for them as a kind of rudimentary security.
Cadet: Calvin decided to shape new recruits in his image frm day one, giving them his signature striped red shirt and paper hat. Put through grueling runs through forested areas and almost dictatorial bedtimes, these guys are put through the ringer.
Officer: Just what you'd expect. Command squads of Infantry, and form a sort of UnderCouncil to the Higher Order. There are two rankups to the officer class, being the "El Capitan", and the "Significantly Large Cheese".
WHCA: Designed by Lord Darwin Watterson of Elmore X-0056, The Watterson Heavy Combat Armor is constructed of duralumin, padded on the inside to prevent blunt force injury, giving it twice the strength of a bear suit. In the wrist, a laser provides an offensive armament.
The Killbot:

Alright guys, so after an extremely long break from the usual blog post I am back to post one on a topic I’ve been working on for a very long time. That topic being my go to rifle setup. Let’s dive right into this.
All good rifles have to start from a good, solid base. My base happens to be a bcm 14.5” upper and a bcm complete lower that I picked up from Brownells a long long time ago. A lot has changed on the base rifle since then but we will get into that shortly. Once I had the solid base to start my go to rifle build on I had to start thinking about the other things I would need like optics, light, sling, etc. at this point I’m going to fast forward 5 or 6 years to now since there no reason explaining all the old parts I had vs the parts I have today.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/dde7a6525347fa89742363d269d40413/fb4b5037ed4c6636-cf/s540x810/e7f372b26129477c94b53339f02247930a8a64d0.jpg)
So as you can see in the picture above, this is a very busy setup. I wanted something extremely versatile and that could be applied to pretty much any situation. So with that let’s talk about sighting systems. Like I just said, I wanted something versatile so I went with the extremely proven eotech system. Funny thing about that is this is the exact same optic I bought for this rifle years ago when I started this. Going along with the eotech we have the eotech g43 magnifier combo that brownells sells asa set. The Unity Omni mount is basically the only way I can tolerate running a magnifier and the reward of being able to instantly have 3x magnification is extremely satisfying. Along with sighting systems we might as well touch on the laser. I just recently upgraded my holosun ls321 to the Steiner dbal d2. Which so far I am absolutely loving it. While it is on of the heavier units available it definitely is no slouch when it comes to performance.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/373806744a30523630cc104286f9f67c/fb4b5037ed4c6636-c4/s540x810/63feca72883d68d6ae77da80d13897633673d396.jpg)
Next we can talk about basically everything else on the rifle. Starting off with the light, I now have 4 of these because I like them that much. The modlite okw, these are extremely durable and powerful lights. Like I said I have multiple variations of this in 18350 , 18650, rifle, pistol, and helmet mounted and I really really like each of them.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/c4e729a7dc355a3ad0fb63ffd28b2d40/fb4b5037ed4c6636-83/s540x810/ccea29e655627445eb15344f8da0ea99bc602ec6.jpg)
Next up… the can. I just recently picked this up and I’m loving it. It is a griffin armament reece5. So far performance has been awesome, plus I really like the simplicity of their taper mount system. The device I’m using under it is their taper mount 3 prong flash hider which is a pretty damn good device on its own.
Since this is getting long winded I will blast through the remaining items pretty quickly.
Arisaka handstop- love the simplicity
Flatline fiber padded sling - the best in my opinion
B5 sopmod stock- a staple in the industry
And the bcm mlok rail, grip, and the new mk2 charging handle are all awesome.
Overall I think this is an extremely solid setup for what I am looking for in a go to rifle. If you made it this far let me know what you think down below. As always go check out brownells, they are a big supporter of everything I am able to do. Link to them will be down below which helps me keep doing what I’m doing.
Check out the rest of my socials, I don’t have a linktree at the moment since they decided to remove me but you can easily find me on the platforms.
