This tank is perfect for the Ukrainian army. It’s very easy to use, has great armored protection – like the Challenger 2 and Leopard 2s, which have seen off the best munitions Russia has to offer – and it packs a hell of a punch. The 120mm smooth bore stabilized main armament is capable of taking out Russian tanks at a range of 3kms, when the Russian guns are effective at roughly half this distance. In addition, it has a 50 caliber heavy machine gun which is devastating against infantry and drones. But it’s the ease of use that’s key here. I’ve not been in an Abrams for about 15 years, but I’m pretty confident I could get in one tomorrow and fight in it effectively. For soldiers receiving new kit, and keen to be effective from the get-go, this is huge. The common criticism leveled against the Abrams is that they are a logistical nightmare, but this isn’t repeated by anyone who knows anything about tanks. The Abrams uses the same ammunition as the Leopard 2, and mechanically it has a very reliable gas turbine engine. It uses a bit more fuel than other tanks, but as far as I’m aware that isn’t in short supply.

US plans to send more F-35 fighters to the UK amid tensions with Russia 🇷🇺

The United States is planning to send up to two F-35A stealth fighter squadrons to an air base in eastern England.

The Telegraph newspaper reported on Wednesday that two F-35A fighter squadrons will arrive at the U.S.-used Lakenheath RAF Base in Suffolk.

A defense source told The Telegraph: "The F-35s will be based there. They have been deployed and will move at the end of this year, if not in 2024."

Military sources described the move to bring 54 F-35s, which will replace the F-15s currently at the air base, as "significant". The F-15s are capable of carrying nuclear weapons, but are less advanced.

The potential return of U.S. nuclear weapons to British soil was described by experts as proof that the West has entered a new cold war.

Hamish de Bretton-Gordon, former commander of Great Britain and NATO's Joint Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Regiment, said: “This is absolutely a cold war and it is a risky strategic attitude. This is a poker game. If the US is putting nuclear weapons in the UK, it is a message to Russia that they are serious.

The F-35 is the most advanced jet fighter in the US. With its advanced integrated aerodynamic and avionics performance, the F-35A will provide next-generation stealth, greater situational awareness and reduced vulnerability for the United States and allied nations.
