November 8, 2024 - Gray-necked Bunting (Emberiza buchanani) Breeding in parts of West and Central Asia, these buntings winter in South Asia. They are found in dry, rocky areas with grassy and weedy vegetation. Foraging on the ground in pairs and small groups, they eat the seeds and shoots of various plants and feed invertebrates to their chicks. Females build nests on the ground under boulders, grass tufts, or shrubs, lining them with grass stems, wool, and hair. They usually incubate the clutches of three to six eggs alone, though it’s possible that males may assist them. Both parents feed the chicks.

Bempton Cliffs and Flamborough June 2024
The head iconic, the cliffs tall,
Covered in white, Gannets galore,
Kittiwakes too, with their soothing call,
Guillemots, Razorbills and more,
You have to examine the crevices for the sea clown,
Exotic billed Puffins that can hide,
Entranced by elegant Fulmars one could never frown,
As in the wind they effortlessly glide,
Tree Sparrows chatter, Swallows and House Martins attend the nest,
Short-eared and Barn Owl a captivating sight,
Seeing which can excite you best,
Yellow, pink and white meadows awakened by sunlight,
The sea an uplifting shade of blue,
Like seeing a marsh orchid, in the water is a treasure,
The intimate moment to have a Grey Seal stare at you,
Painted Lady and other butterflies add to the pleasure,
Silver Y, Sedge Warbler and Whitethroat,
Chiffchaff, Stonechat and Reed Bunting bringing more elation,
So relaxed I could almost float,
Vising Bempton Cliffs and Flamborough I feel a gratifying sensation,

What if Crowley uses "bird" vocabulary like Floyd with his marine nicknames....
Yes he's a crow ... Just imagine if he sees us as biiiiird~
Of course it's just my point of view, I am not a professional in ornithology, you might have your own idea about this one and I would definitely want to hear about it!
Mostly they are birds we could see in my country...
Let's go:
Ombrorio
Grim(m) -> Grey catbird (grey like Grimm, striped wings and can make cat noise....yes)
Yuu(sona) -> Sparrow (Crowley would definitely call Yuu a little sparrow....)
Night Raven College staff
Sam -> Painted bunting (small, vibrant, colorful, a rare sight to view)
Mozus Trein -> Eurasian skylark (classy, well known literally a french song about this bird "he sung it to Lucius as a kitten")
Ashton Vargas -> Pheasant (....the irony as his Disney counterpart is an hunter, but vibrant color)
Divus Crewel -> Great spotted woodpecker (literally screaming I am Cruella, fashion red, black and white bird)
Heartslabyul
Ace Trappola -> Nothern cardinal (red... funky feather style, fights their own mirror reflection...)
Deuce Spade -> Blue slaty bunting
Riddle Roseheart -> Robin (Hi Ciel Phantomhive...I mean Kuroshitsuji ref but look that little red face)
Trey Clover -> Nightingale (sorry Trey...Crowley is implying you can either sing...or can't...but you do have a perfect voice!)
Cater Diamond -> Pyrrhula (I love this little bird too....they became very rare by now, look this tiny orange one)
(Heartslabyul are literally the birds of Aurora in 2d "Sleeping beauty")
Savannaclaw
Jack Howl -> Owl (....this one is pretty obvious)
Leona Kingscholar -> "Savanna" eagle (yes... definitely a strong bird)
Ruggie Bucchi -> Speckled mousebird (listen to that bird you'll understand, also....that feather hairstyle!)
Octavinelle
Jade Leech -> Emperor penguin (tall...classy ...can't fly pfff)
Azul Ashengrotto -> Nothern gannet (verrryyy big, analystic-smart one, can't walk on land...)
Floyd Leech -> Snare penguin (unique appareance, multiple various vocalized sounds)
Scarabia
Kalim Al Asim -> White falcon (precious, royal bird in a "maybe similar related country in our world")
Jamil Viper -> Red Parrot (or macaw) (obviously because of Iago)
Pomefiore
Epel Felmier -> Snow bunting (a "petite robuste" bird living in snow)
Vil Schoenheit -> Peacock (beautiful, handsome literally The Evil Queen's bird)
Rook Hunt -> Mallard (another irony for an hunter...but this bird is beautiful I mean it, and is found everywheerrre (like a stalker bird ha ha))
Ignihyde
Idia Shroud -> Blue jay (blue, black and blue stripes, funny enough the bird is stated to be noisy ha ha, Idia can be supah noisy sometimes too when setting his boundaries, GG Idia!)
Ortho Shroud -> Eurasian blue tit (a little fluffy bird, blue and yellow doing a very cute melodious sound, I love watching them...)
Diasomnia
Sebek Zigvolt -> Egyptian plover (yes....the bird on the crocodile's back...yes)
Malleus Draconia -> Great eared nightjar (it's a dragon bird....look at him)/I could have chosen Casoar too... but nope...
Lilia Vanrouge -> Anna's hummingbird (it's small, pink and changes color with light...like his hairs)
Silver -> Nine-primaried oscines (a cute lovely bird in our woods, pink and blue)
Thanks National Geographic....
It's just pure fanon brainstorming... I'm sorry...
bird photos were mostly took from "Wikipedia"

Skyward Sword Skyloft Aesthetic
I love the aesthetic of Skyloft so let's analyze it and see what makes it tick. This will be a long post with lots and lots of photos.
First of all, In Skyloft there are two very different styles of architecture:

Ancient architecture, which are the stately grey stone structures like the light tower in the plaza and around the Statue of the Goddess (as well as various locations on the surface)

And the Skyloftian architecture, which is much more round, colorful and whimsical than the ancient architecture. I will be focusing on the Skyloftian architecture.

Skyloftian houses are built underground with one exposed side facing out. The roofs are flat and often have paths or grass growing on them in order to maximize surface area and places to walk. Each house is unique and is personalized to the occupant.

Non-house buildings like the bazaar, knight academy, and the Lumpy Pumpkin are built above-ground and have varying kinds of roofs, from wood to bamboo, to tented rugs.

Interior walls generally follow this pattern: the walls are painted (or possibly frescoed) with a primary color--it's not a solid color, but with a dappled 'paintbrush-stroke' pattern. Decorative stones or tiles of a contrasting color are placed in a horizontal wavy line in the bottom half of the wall and in another line near the ceiling.
At the base, is a layer of stones of a different color. Structurally, this is likely a foundational base on which the walls are constructed to protect them from groundwater damage, like in cob (a certain kind of mud-cement) house construction.

Buildings and rooms tend to be curvy or round and often have whimsical features built in, like the oven in the kitchen and the bird faucet and tiled round bathing pool in the bathroom of the Knight Academy. In houses, sinks and counters are sometimes built into the wall. This is another feature you see frequently in cob house construction.
In fact, the Skyloftian style of architecture seems to have taken heavy inspiration from cob house construction. Cob is a building material that is made of local mud with additives to turn it into cement with hay or grass mixed in. The cob is mounded up into the shape of the walls and sealed with sealant and plaster. It is very quick to construct cob buildings and they are highly customizable. Building made of cob tend to be whimsical--look up images and see for yourself.

Furniture is made with wood and often has decorative tiling, painting, or carvings in them.
In terms of decorations, the most common motifs are geometric designs, floral and plant designs, and bird-themed designs. Bright colors are preferred, and almost everything in the whole game, but especially in Skyloft, has a pink or purple tinge/undertone to it.

One thing Skyloftians love are ornate rugs. Every room and every house has a rug, usually multiple rugs. Each rug is unique, brightly colored, and usually geometric in design.

There is even an entire (unmanned) shop in the bazaar full of rugs and other textiles.

Other decorations you might find in homes and buildings are pots, vases, bottles, and plates with colorful designs

Lace, stuffed animals, decorative pillows

Turkish lamps, wall hangings, table placemats or a table runner

Mobiles and decorative ceiling hangings

Remlit tree

And some rooms/houses are themed, for example, Fledge's room has a tropical island theme.

Outdoors, the village is decorated with multi-colored banners, buntings, pinwheels, flags, and flowers.

Together all these things construct the aesthetic and style of Skyloft: rounded and curvy buildings, cob-style construction, geometric, floral and bird designs, bright colors, ornate rugs, pots, Turkish lamps, stained glass, wood carvings, and lots and lots of whimsy.

Imogen awoke to something burning her toes. She flinched away from the heat with a whimper — must have dozed off too close to the stove, damn fool thing to do — but the fire was in her fingers, too, and her cheeks and ears and the tip of her nose. And someone had a hold of her feet, preventing her from moving away.
“There, there,” cooed a voice close by, in a melodic half-whisper.
“Laudna?” she mumbled groggily, fumbling for consciousness.
But wasn’t Laudna’s voice. And they weren’t Laudna’s cool, soft hands gripping her ankles; they were rough-fingered, with nails like claws.
She opened her eyes, through eyelids still swollen and raw from the rasp of stinging snow, to candlelight. She was lying on a narrow bed amid a row of them in an unfamiliar room. A wood stove stood in one corner, giving off the first real warmth she could remember in days. The dried blossoms of sweet woodruff and lavender strewn across the stone floor gave off a sweetly herbal fragrance that almost masked the mingled odor of medicine, soap, and sickness. An infirmary?
Raising her head, she looked around for Laudna but the room’s only other occupant was an eisfuura woman whose striped head and grey-brown feathers gave her the appearance of a rock bunting. She was dressed in the simple black habit of a cleric, and she was steadying Imogen’s bare feet with one taloned hand and weaving a healing spell over her toes with the other.
“Where’s . . . where’s Laudna?”
But she could not hear her mind. The only other thoughts in the room were the cleric’s, bent on her in concern that she should have been grateful for, but at the moment her own thoughts were whirring and bashing up against the inside of her head like a bee against a closed window.
“You are awake!” the cleric warbled softly, “You were near to frozen when you were brought to us. Praise unto the Matron for delivering you back into our hands.” She ducked her striped head in a quick gesture of reverence. “Please be still while I heal you. Do not be afraid, you are safe here. I am Sister Samar.”
The touch of her hands was surprisingly gentle, despite the length of her claws, and as she worked the stinging redness mercifully ebbed from Imogen’s frostbitten toes.
“My . . . my friend.” Imogen scanned each of the beds again, one by one, as though she had only overlooked her somehow. Laudna took up so little space in a bed. With her dark hair hidden under a blanket she might have looked like little more than a lumpy mattress. But all of the empty beds were neatly made, with smooth sheets tucked primly up to the pillows and a woolen blanket folded at the foot of each. Imogen looked back to the cleric. “Where is she? Is she all right?”
Her heart sank as Sister Samar put her head sadly to the side. Her curved claws came up to fidget with a talisman around her neck, the simple emblem of a raven’s skull hanging from a silver chain.
“I’m very sorry,” she said softly, and the sorrow in her thoughts matched the sorrow in her inkdrop eyes, “Your friend was taken by the Matron.”
Imogen pushed herself up with her hands until she was sitting up. “What — what matron? Where is she?” Her throat squeezed around her voice, so that her words came out a sob. “Where’s Laudna?”
