The Greenman children liked to invite their peers for greenhouse playdates.

Kids loved sitting under the large tree that anchored the bespoke build; even those who couldn't sit still in the classroom were content to lie down and look up at the leaves and listen to their faerie friends translate what the tree was saying. Rose was particularly relieved that mother earth's language had come just as naturally to Basil as it did to Daisy and Aster - not that being like Jason was a bad thing! Only, it would be a shame to be a faerie who couldn't "speak leaf".

The language barrier between humans and plants resulted in a job offer for Rose. A scientist focusing on the river that partly named the village was interested to know if she could communicate with marine algae. She visited the coast to coax some communication out of a tangle of seaweed, confirming the theory, if only at a base level (the seaweed didn't like sand and wanted to go back in the water).

Vibes were no scientific measure but the scientist was keen to get to the primary source in a way never seen before, so Rose was hired in her very first job as part-time research assistant. She would contribute a different kind of green to the household, one that filled wallets and bank accounts.

Among playdates and professional development, the greenhouse tree also witnessed Daisy asking Rocky out, officially. Teases of "boyfriend-girlfriend!" whistled through the leaves, then claims of Daisy needing to borrow a branch to beat away her admirers.

Mother earth was just like any other member of the family.

This greenman caught my eye at the Netherworld giftshop last night, absolutely chuffed to have him around! Also, I adore this oil pastel space piece, it's probably my most favorite art project I've ever done 🥰
