Steven Universe jumpscare. Actually my roots in drawing humans is from SU, making my own gem ocs. And Green Diamond is from my au that has been on the back burner in my head. I've forgotten a lot of details of what I thought about them back then (what was it. 5 years ago?) so have all new ramble.

She's about the size of White Diamond and can fit Pink Diamond on her hand. I think as a combination of Yellow and Blue their traits balances each other, being able to better manage her time better than "cry all day" and "work without pause" as well as being able to calm herself down from acting hastily. Though despite the appearance of being put together she is actually their emotions x2 inwardly.

The story is an excuse for me to draw Green Diamond more <3 The current idea is that Blue and Yellow fused on accident as Pink challenges them to "fun dancing", much to the latter's delight and the formers horror. But with the idea they can and it felt good it keeps looming over them and eventually curiosity gets the better than them. Deciding to experiment with fusion with encouragement from Pink. And like at first they with the excuse that Green Diamond is more efficient way of working but it changes with time it feels better to be together than to be apart.

Which all goes well until White Diamond is informed and gives them an ultimatum: Never fuse again or stay a fusion permanently. She 'understands' that they are flawed, imperfect, and could only be close to her perfection through something as primative as fusion. And so they have a choice, be apart or be a singular Diamond. In the end, as as the au's name is named after Green Diamond you can probably guess the answer.

How does this effect the rest of the plot? Well it does change things though because Green Diamond having the massive complex about being what she is and her relationship to Pink Diamond being complicated means that it doesn't change things enough to change the main beats of the canon story (rebellion, Pink's 'death', corruption, Steven).

Behold! The diamond technician herself, Green Diamond!

Green diamond's job is inventing the advanced technologies that you see on homeworld as she has quite the extensive knowledge of technology that the other diamondhaont have. Not only that, but she also is in charge of kindergarten productions, and was the one to invent the method of creating gems that weren't resource intensive during era 2's resource scarcity.

Some may call her kinder than the other diamonds, as shatterings in the green court are rare if next to none, but that's only because Green doesn't like wasting resources. Due to Green's importance in gem society, she was put on a higher position than most of the diamonds.

Green is actually humble for a diamond and doesn't strut her position compared to the others. Purple isn't very fond of Green Diamond because of this, and she thinks she'd be better suited in Green's position of the diamond authority. Simply put, Purple is jealous that Green is in a higher position. Purple Diamond is seen here

Green Diamond was not recognised as a diamond until Era 1 was ending. Thats when White decided to finally reveal the other diamond. Why was she finally revealed after all those millenniums?

Its because White had finally allowed her to start her own colonisation, but on one condition. She was only given planets that are deemed unfit or deficient.

In this Au, Pink Diamond doesn’t colonise Earth. (Let’s pretend Earth is deemed unstable or something. I’ll think of a better excuse later on. Pink can have Jupiter, lol)

So in a nutshell, Green Diamond is looked upon as a recycling bin. They give her used up planets that have no meaning and just let her do her own thing on these planets. They dont care. Pink and Green aren’t close, but they get along if needed.

For Chrysolite, she was once a Peridot that belonged to Yellow Diamond a few millenniums back. Working on tech and any other missions when needed. She was a good worker but she had an attitude. Yellow Diamond’s behaviour always seemed to bother her and ticked her. So they are times she would mutter curse words or talk smack about Yellow.

One day, a gem snitched to Yellow after Chrysolite said “Yellow has got a big head, too bad her brain isn’t”. Yellow wanted to shatter her at once but declared a court anyways to discuss her fate. Chrysolite admitted that what she heard was true and added “dont worry, I’m sure White Diamond can use her all mighty powers and move your gem to your head. Maybe that way you can have an excuse for having such a big forehead but such little brain”. Yellow engulfed with rage, threatened to shatter Chrysolite on the spot. But was stoped by Green. Green just happened to be walking by the court house and heard the commotion.

Green pleaded with Yellow to release the peridot and let her keep it. After many pleads, Yellow released Chrysolite from all charges and was demoted to become a servant to Green Diamond to which she was perfectly ok with. And thats how Chrysolite spent all her millenniums, with Green Diamond.
