My hc is that Saiyans see cutting off your tail as mutilation/punishment so that’s why Raditz was so upset when they cut off Goku’s tail, this could also be why Vegeta got angry when his tail was cut off too.

So two researchers at Johns Hopkins, Luke Townrow and Christopher Krupenye, came up with a way of testing whether some of our closest living relatives, the bonobos, could infer the state of mind of a human they were cooperating with.
