Willow Month 2023: week one !

Day 1: Favourite Character | Kit Tanthalos

So... 2024.

- Barney C.

- Learned some Blender basics

- Went back to Seattle and ECCC

- conceived and oversaw installation of massive new interactive exhibit at work

- conceived, designed, and produced massive temporary centennial display at work

- scored a Marriott room first try for D*Con 2025

- interviewed for and got senior curatorial position at work

- lost one of the horses to a terrible bout of colic

- lived in a cabin on an island for three days

- lost my new (very cool) boss five days ago in a climbing accident (still processing that one)

- met some of THE coolest possible people at D*Con this year

- half-assed a Blue Shift!Barney cosplay

- printed and built a whole-ass AR2

- rescued a very fresh calf that had spent the night in the ditch outside the barbwire fence

- acquired a resin printer and learned how to print 3D stuff in resin

- learned basic electronics for cosplay bullshit

- Barney's Civil Protection helmet

- got marginally better at running

- took lots of naps with the cats

- climbed one (1) mountain with @veradune

november ko-fi fic!

hiya!! i am still working on the november ko-fi fic (to be published hopefully sometime this weekend)

(KUWSK family meal aka american thanksgiving themed with ✨chaos✨ to make it wholesome after the last two mob-themed ones lmao)

BUT i'm announcing here that i will be stopping the ko-fi fics after november!! with my grad program picking up, i've found that it's been really hard to balance how much i want to write, study, and just be here in this space online with y'all - and the ko-fi fics have been a ton of fun and honestly so good for my writing abilities, but they've also become a stressor the later in the month it gets without posting when i wanted to commit to having them out at the beginning of each month :(

so to make sure that no one gets charged in december, i'm just gonna delete my ko-fi the last day of november! all the fics i've posted on there will make their way to ao3 (probably in the first month of 2025) so no one will actually lose access to anything - i would just feel really bad if people were charged because they didn't see this or cause they didn't cancel in time or anything!

in all, this has been really fun for me and i'm really really so incredibly thankful for everyone who has become a supporter of my ko-fi (either for a few months or a day or the entire year it's been running). thank you thank you so much!! and i hope you enjoyed these little fics as well <3

not to get emotional on main but to get emotional on main, i cannot stop thinking about my fiancé and our wedding. like i have to warn you any time i write a jegulus wedding it’s just. it’s kit and i’s wedding. my sunshine and me. “regulus” and “james” are just stand-ins for us. i saw pictures of them at one of her family members’ wedding the other day and i cannot stop thinking about them because he is so beautiful and i can’t wait for us to dance in the rain in the irish autumn chill. i have found The One my fiancée is. better than y’all’s not to brag.

this is srsly just a personal need but like i rlly want to see a new perspective in being powerful within the tsh universe, and for kit specifically.

what i mean to say is i think weve yet to see a character who gets drunk or high on power (correct me if im wrong) but i would genuinely love to see that with kit. it just reminds me of one of the first scenes we see of him handling grief, (when he opens the door to the institute for the first time and breaks down by laughing) idk i just think that would make for such a heartbreaking but cool scene 😭

THAT MESSED ME UP SO BAD :( him using humour as a coping mechanism hits home icl but like he was having a truly rough day and i feel so bad for him. he needs to be protected at all costs <3

but yeah kit! powerful! faerie magic! badass! let’s fucking go! i wanna see that so freaking badly ahhhh!

You know while the fact that so many of our queer shows are getting cancelled, shortened or even taken off air entirely (in Willow’s case) fucking sucks, I am so glad to have seen them. I want to hold that. My joy that they have come to exist at all. Even in a world that is still hostile or apathetic in so many ways. They have been made. I have seen them. I have seen myself. That means so much. And all the people who have fought tooth and nail for every character and scene that has brought me joy, helped me feel seen, helped me feel comfortable in my own skin, I want to say thank you

she's here, she's arrived - it's july ko-fi time and the au i wrote a longer fic for this time is the wine party au! a quick rundown of the wine party au: obi-wan is a bit of a wine snob/retired chef and sommelier. anakin is a bit of a broke college student/retired frat bro. they fuck a lot and enter a quasi-relationship where they find each other fascinating and attractive but hate everything about the other except for all the parts they like. padmé and her psychologist friends find them fascinating. here is the tumblr tag for the au, and here are the links to the two ficlets I've written for the wine party au in the past: Tumblr Tag / Past Ficlets For Wine Party AU

I’m a renowned psychologist, not an idiot, and don’t think I haven’t noticed the hickies on your neck after every wine party you attend with me.” “He’s a dick,” Anakin tells her. “And those could have been from anyone. Your other friend there, Organa maybe.” “My happily married and very straight friend, Bail Organa?” she asks, with such a tone of disbelief that Anakin entertains the idea of hanging up on her. It’d certainly make him feel better for a few moments at least. “Yeah,” he says staunchly anyway.  “Better him than Kenobi.” Kenobi, who is a dick. Kenobi, who always looks at him with a slightly incredulous sneer, as if he’s unsure who allowed him into his social circle, or like he’s just caught him wearing muddy shoes on his precious white fur rugs.
