Prelims round 1, poll 8:
Propaganda
The Library, The Medoran Chronicles by Lynette Noni:
Sentient building! Is literally a place of learning, both through read knowledge and real life experiences; has various doors to different locations and worlds, as well as specific areas inside the library for physical learning. The Library can manipulate space-time within itself, and paintings can easily become doorways to pocket dimensions.
Badalom, The Mysterious Cities of Gold:
Badalom is the second City of Gold of the series. It has an archive of blueprints of different machines made by the ancient Kingdom of Mu/Hiva. It also has a factory that builds flying golden condors.
The Library of the Unwritten, Hell's Library series by AJ Hackwith:
None
The Palanaeum, The Stormlight Archives by Brandon Sanderson:
None
The Stormlight Archive, The Stormlight Archives by Brandon Sanderson:
Super cool archive! The information is stored in carved crystals that vibrate in specific patterns when infused with magic to reveal messages. It was meant to preserve information stored for thousands of years after books in the main archive has turned to dust. (The art is by @lamaery on Tumblr who gave permission for me to upload this as long as they get credit.)
Sazed's Copperminds, Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson:
Copper bracers called copperminds that contain many, many forbidden books. They are accessible only to Sazed, a scholar specialising in religion and also a member of the Skaa rebellion.
‼️MAJOR SPOILERS‼️
At the end of the trilogy, the world is literally about the end, and Sazed becomes a god and uses the knowledge in his copperminds to fix/remake the world.

Human scars (Spoilers)
(major Graevale spoilers below)
I know with the meyarin blood in her and Fletches healing skills she doesnt scar but I like to imagine that while Alex was digging Niyx grave she irreversibly damaged her hands.
maybe she has scars, not think the glittering ones from claims, but normal human ones. ones that she refused to let fletcher heal. maybe her fingernails never grew back properly and when she paints them with DC she frowns that the polish settles in the ridges and dips of her rough nails. maybe her hands ache sometimes, a deep painful ache in the joints of her fingers. she first noticed it in Vardaesia, one of the nights that Kadien snuck into her room, he wraped his hands around hers and kissed her fingertips. it is worse when she holds A'enara. or any sword. when she faced off Aven for the final time her hands burned. burned for all of the death that he caused.
she liked the scars though, because on the particularly hard days after Aven, she had a physical reminder that wasn't a product of Aven's control. but of love. the love that compelled Alex to dig into the icy ground the sunset after the battle of Graevale . the love that told her not to give up, even after the Tia Auras would not help them, when her parents were captured and her friends and boyfriend tortched that was the reason she got back up and grip her sword and face him once more. just like Niyx told her to.

wait.
Does anybody remember that one scene in Raelia when we first meet Nyix?
Long story short, imagine Nyix saying this:
I learnt from a very young age that if I talk long enough I can make anything either Right or Wrong so either I'm GOD or truth is relative. Either way, BOOYAHHH!
P.S if anyone knows who said the original quote let me know.

Niyx, after the hyroa attack: I've learned some very valuable lessons from this. Alex: I’m guessing they are all horrible distortions on the lessons you actually should’ve taken away. Niyx: Death isn't real and I'm basically God.

Every few months this (and the full version) gets another few notes and it makes me happy because I know someone has found it in the tags for this tiny fandom and is going through the same thing. It's had 2 or 3 notes this week alone.
Anyway, graevale broke my heart so much that I wouldn't allow it back in my bedroom, and ended up just reading the ending of vardaesia before giving my entire series away this year :( I still can't believe she ended up with CREEPY KAYDEN who was absent for 90% of the series >:(
Maybe I'll get back round to drawing them though, and with better proportion (WHAT is with his shoulder 😅) since Niyx perfectly fits my raven-haired bias.
this is now my therapy after graevale. whenever i get frustrated, im gonna look at my lil fan art of them cuddling and calm down.
after a long, hard day, she collapses into him, and he finally, finally gets to play with her hair…. all he’s ever imagined, ever since he met her, for two thousand years….
