Just rewatched Tune in for Love after a long time and now I'm sure it's one of my favorite romance movies of all time. It just excels at everything I love about this genre: the mixture of fluff and angst, the yearning, the longing, the insane chemistry between Kim Go Eun and Jung Hae In... It's basically perfect. Also, I need both of them to reunite in a full-length drama, please 🥹🥹🥹

i would also have been so fine if yeon stayed dead from episode 16 😐 like—i want him to be happy with ji ah but not at literally everyone else’s expense.
honestly i think the main problem with that show is that it’s built for you to care only about the two mains but every supporting actor made their characters so interesting it almost became an ensemble deal. i wish it were more like goblin where the five “main characters” all got fairer endings so no matter who your fave was, you couldn’t be that mad. totnt imitated enough of goblin, they could have done this too.
also go seung-tak is STEALING MY HEART WHY IS HE SO FLUFFY. i want to kiss whoever gave him that short permed hair hhhhhhhh. i’m enjoying the plot but the other characters are pretty dull imo (except for young-min, rain is a pretty decent actor to my surprise). maybe i just need to let it grow on me.
i’m glad you made it through twtwb!
-kbcu anon
Interestingly, Goblin was my first LDW drama and the one that got me obsessed with him, whereas TOTNT put me out of love with him. IMO, it was partly the way Yeon’s character was written in season 1 - his sole purpose in life was Jia - and that began to get on my nerves after a few episodes, and partly it was his acting. I got the feeling he too got bored of it after a while and sleepwalked thorough the second half of the show. Whereas in season 2, he was a delight to watch, though I have a lot of complaints about his character in 1938 as well. But he was a lot better than in the first season.
Go seung-tak is an absolute delight to watch. he’s a fluffy ball of fur, but there are layers to his personality that are uncovered as we proceed further into the show. That’s where Beom gives us his best (as usual). As for the other characters, I didn’t care much for the ladies - se-jin was an absolute bore. They could’ve cut down some of her crying time and given it to Young-tak scenes. I was mighty pissed about how she and Young-min treat poor Seung-tak - I’ll reserve discussion on that until you finish. Nothing much to write about characters other than the leading men - though I liked Tess and the 3 coma ghosts.
I haven’t resumed TWTWB yet. I was referring to angel Gook-soo from Padam Padam. He’s adorable and effervescent and Beom’s dimples, of course, always bring a smile to my face. In fact, my major disappointment with Hidden identity was, though he was hot and did his character full justice, we never got to see those gorgeous dimples 😀
I loved him in the woman who still wants to marry. He’s the ultimate romantic in that one - you should see the way he woos the woman he loves!
BTW, any idea about Dream? I’ve heard it’s bad but is it that terrible? I’m also interested in checking out Psychometry.

Reseña de "Our Beloved Summer" (2022)
Título: Our Beloved Summer / Aquel año nuestro / 그 해 우리는 / Geu Hae Woorineun
Género: Sñice of Life. Drama, Romance, Comedia
No. de episodios: 16
Cadena: SBS
Rate: ★★★★☆ 4.5
PD2. Solo había visto actuar a Woo Shik una vez en Fight My Way, y resultó se un completo imbécil ahí haha y ahora amé a su personaje haha.
PD3.
Le doy a Our Beloved Summer 5 estrellas.
★★★★★
OST: 5 estrellas, ¡encantador!
Personajes: 5 estrellas
Historia: 4.5 estrellas
Cinematografía: 5 estrellas
Química de la pareja: 5 estrellas

First Impression: Cafe Minamdang
First Impression: Cafe Minamdang
Loosely translated, “Minamdang” means Pretty Boy Gang in Korean. And well, even without hosting a renowned “shaman”, the pretty boys in Minamdang have the girls queuing. Main cast: Seo In-guk (from Doom at your Service) as “shaman” Nam Han-jun. To put the records straight, other than having fun prancing around and waving his fan and bells, Han-jun is 100% fraudster. Oh Yeon-soo (from A Korean…

Jumong
Year : 2006 | Country : KR | Nb of episodes: 81
My rate: 10/10
Synopsis :
Jumong was the founder of Goguryeo in 37 BC. He was the son of General Hae Mo Su and Lady Yoo Hwa, and was raised by King Geum Wa who took him and his mother in when Hae Mo Su was believed to have been killed in an ambush by the Han Dynasty. So Seo No was a merchant's daughter who helped Jumong in realizing his dream to build a new country, and later became his second wife.
Main cast :
Song Il Gook as Jumong
Han Hye Jin as So Seo No
Kim Seung Soo as Prince Dae So
Hu Joon Ho as Hae Mo Su
Oh Yun Soo as Lady Yoo Hwa
My thoughts on this drama :
Jumong is THE historical drama. It was kept very close to real history (except for the added characters used for romantic purpose). The drama may be extra long, but it's worth every hour. Scenery, battle scenes, costumes, music, acting. 100% on point.
A Favorite ?
YES!!!!!!!

Young Lady and Gentleman
I decided to watch this series because it has a really good cast. I've seen most of the actors in other series and I was looking forward to watching them, specially Ji Hyun Woo, who is one of my favorite actors. The first couple of episodes held my interest even though they were filled with cliché: the misunderstanding at the hiking site, Dan Dan winning Jae Ni over by fighting against her bullies, and Dan Dan's stepmother and her family's lack of sense when it came to money, to name a few things. There were a lot of characters that annoyed me to no end, but what really killed it for me was the amnesia plot (acting like a 22 years old man and then remembering he was 40 and forgetting what he did when thinking he was back in his 20s). I skipped half the episodes and then saw the rest of the episodes skipping scenes.
This series disappointed me. It could have explored the issues in believable ways, instead of brushing them with cliché plot twists and simplifying the issues and resolutions. They could have explored the stigma to age difference in relationships since Young Gook and Se Ryeon both fell in love with people that were younger than them. They could have explored the issue of abandonment and adoptive family with Sa Ra, Anna, Young Gook and Dan Dan's father and stepmother. The decisions men and women make and how the woman is the worse off - with Dae Ran, who was too ignorant to believe a married man's words and become his mistress and remain in a household where she wasn't respected or loved. Because, let's face it, Young Gook's father was no model to follow.
The characters didn't help either. Of the adult characters the only ones that were less annoying were Mi Rim and Joon Oh because they went after what they wanted, they worked around the hardship together and were equals in their relationship.
I had a lot of trouble stomaching the female characters (except for Mi Rim). Dan Dan was too immature, clingy and had no self-respect. The same could be said about Se Ryeon and her mother. Sa Ra and her mother were schemers, but I also think they got the worse end of the rope. Dae Ran was the one to propose Sa Ra pretend to have been in a relationship with Young Gook when he lost his memory and as soon as the plan went sour, she left Sa Ra with all the weight of the scheme. Sa Ra's desperation to be near her son made her do many unspeakable things but I believed she could have had a second chance with Cha Gun; but he also disappointed because he said he loved her and was willing to stay with her while she was pregnant with his child, but as soon as she lost it, he was willing to part ways. He walked away, leaving her all broken. . . A similar thing happened to Lee Ki Ja. Yes, she had to pay for her crime, but her supposed friends - who were no angels - brushed her every time she wasn't a convenience to them. In the end, even Sa Ra left her mother to find her own path.
Anna Kim was no saint either and she could have dealt with the situation in another way, but why use the "cancer" card? Why use the "let's pity her" route and then dispose of her through death? I just think this was too easy.
And Yeon Shil wasn't the best stepmother, or wife for that matter, but I think her husband used her and didn't respect her. He turned her into the evil stepmother for years and then had the face to tell her he wanted to stay with his ex-wife while she was sick. And here is where the male characters also annoyed me. Soo Cheol and Young Gook were good people but acted all mighty and didn't think about the people they were hurting with their actions or words. Cha Gun was a character I liked but the way he let Sa Ra go was really disappointing. Dae Beom was hard to stomach at the beginning but he grew as a character towards the end, just like Se Ryeon did.
I guess these are not black and white characters. They are all human - I'll give them that. They had their good things and those that were not good. And it would have been okay if the writer and director hadn't tried so hard to turn this into a comedy. It should have been a drama. I think it would have worked better that way, the female characters would not have been portrayed as ignorant, clingy and foolish simpletons and those over used plot cliché would have been out of the equation.

season 1 rang's necklaces were such a sexy choice peeking out from his shirt collars. every time he showed up in that white shirt i died a little bit. black is his bad guy color but they gave him white when he needed to be vulnerable and that made it even more appealing.
ok my story about his opening scene was that i thought his little nerdy persona was gonna become ji-ah's sidekick or something or even a boyish second lead to contrast to yeon. he bothered to explain his whole backstory! i thought for sure that meant he'd be important! but then i stared at his face a second longer and recognized him from the posters and was like OH MY GOD HE'S THE BAD GUY and then 30 seconds later he does his transformation sequence and climbs into the car with gorgeous yongji and i was like. oh. uh oh. this is how it's gonna be is it. welp 😂
also after thinking about it more my favorite character of his after rang is probably yijung. he didn't reach his full potential because a the show was stupidly written and directed and b because his plot was secondary but it let him explore cruelty and vulnerability and arrogance and kindness (i'll never forget he actually stood up for jandi to junpyo being a bitch) and basically just do really well for a young actor. again why i want him to do a role like that again potentially with even more amorality and greater depth after 15 years of experience.

You know, before I started with TOTNT, I had finished all other LDW dramas. After Game of thrones and its pathetic last season, I began looking up shows before beginning with them, checking out the end, and when I happened to do that with TOTNT, I read about this character Rang and how he completely overshadowed the leads.
Now, being an LDW fan, I wasn’t happy with that, but when I read that LDWs character got a happy ending and this Rang fellow dies (yes, I was okay with that because I didn’t know Kim Beom then), I started with it, expecting to like Yeon.
But the moment Beom entered the scene, I was bowled over. My plan to hate Rang and like Yeon began fizzling out and failed spectacularly when I came to episode 9. As I moved on, I resented Yeon’s plan to keep Jia alive at the cost of so many others. I’d have been happy if she’d died in Rang’s place. I would even have been okay with it if Yeon stayed dead at Episode 15.
But… we got what we got and I cried when Rang uttered his last word, “hyung.” Season 2 was a consolation prize, putting us in a happy bubble where Rang built a life of his own. And… while I can’t forgive what they did to him in season 1, I think it’s best I confine myself to this bubble 😊
As for Yi-jung, I would’ve probably appreciated that character if he were a little older - would’ve been more convincing. I’m definitely sure he’ll nail it if he did a similar role now. Like I said 2020!Rang would’ve made a very convincing playboy!
I quite liked Lee Gook-soo - he’s a bright ray of sunshine, though it took me some patience to wade through the show. His chemistry with the second girl is cute!
P.S : 2020!Rang had the top button of his shirt open in a lot of scenes - That little skin show does things to me ☺️☺️
