Summertime
Written By: Mikey Way, Ray Toro, Gerard Way & Frank Iero
Artist: My Chemical Romance
Released: 2010
“Summertime” is a ‘new wave’ song, allegedly believed to be written about frontman Gerard Way’s wife, Lyn-z Way. In an interview, Gerard said that it started as a riff Mikey had written, before evolving into a song they ‘couldn’t have the record without.’ “[“Summertime”] is one of the lyrically personal songs on the album, whereas the rest of it is just me talking about my worldview. So it’s a really beautiful song and again—no rules. We can have a soft song.”
[Verse 1] When the lights go out Will you take me with you And carry all this broken bone Through six years down In crowded rooms and highways I call home? Is something I can't know till now Till you picked me off the ground With brick in hand, your lip-gloss smile Your scraped-up knees and [Chorus] If you stay, I would even wait all night Or until my heart explodes, how long until we Find our way in the dark and out of harm? You can run away with me anytime you want [Verse 2] Terrified of what I'd be As a kid, from what I've seen Every single day when people try And put the pieces back together Just to smash them down Turn my headphones up real loud I don't think I need them now 'Cause you stop the noise and [Chorus] If you stay, I would even wait all night Or until my heart explodes, how long until we Find our way in the dark and out of harm? You can run away with me anytime you want [Post-Chorus] Well, anytime you want Well, anytime you want [Guitar Solo] [Bridge] Don't walk away, don't walk away Don't walk away, don't walk away! [Chorus] 'Cause if you stay, I would even wait all night Or until my heart explodes, how long until we Find our way in the dark and out of harm? You can run away with me [Post-Chorus] Or you can write it on your arm You can run away with me Anytime you want

Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy
Written By: Freddie Mercury
Artist: Queen
Released: 1976
The song was the eighth track on their album “A Day At The Races” which was released in 1976. The song also appeared on “Queens First EP” released in 1977. The song is about how Freddie is an old-fashioned lover, taking his partners on old-school dates such as dancing or dinner, also hinting at the fact that he is a good lover.
[Verse 1] I can dim the lights and sing you songs Full of sad things We can do the tango, just for two I can serenade and gently play On your heart strings Be a Valentino, just for you [Chorus] "Ooh love, ooh lover boy What're you doing tonight? Hey boy" Set my alarm, turn on my charm That's because I'm a good old-fashioned lover boy [Verse 2] Ooh, let me feel Your heartbeat (Grow faster, faster) Ooh, can you feel my love heat? (Ohh) Come on and sit on my hot seat of love And tell me how do you feel, right after all I'd like for you and I to go romancing Say the word, your wish is my command [Chorus] “Ooh love, ooh lover boy What're you doing tonight? Hey boy” Write my letter, feel much better I'll use my fancy patter on the telephone [Bridge] When I'm not with you, think of you always I miss you (I miss those long hot summer nights) When I'm not with you, think of me always Love you, love you Hey boy where do you get it from? Hey boy where did you go? I learned my passion in the good old-fashioned School of lover boys [Guitar Solo] [Verse 3] Dining at the Ritz, we'll meet at nine (One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine o'clock) precisely I will pay the bill, you taste the wine Driving back in style in my saloon will do quite nicely Just take me back to yours, that will be fine (Come on and get it) [Chorus] Ooh love (There he goes again) Ooh lover boy (Who's my good Old-fashioned lover boy?) (Ooh ooh) What're you doing tonight? Hey boy! Everything's all right, just hold on tight That's because I'm a good old Fashioned (Fashioned) lover boy

on the bus ride home i heard a car drive by blasting queen’s “good old-fashioned lover boy”, and i instantly thought of crowley and aziraphale driving about in soho and lower tadfield. it made my day, which previously was completely rubbish.

Assigning Dead Boy Detectives characters to my favorite songs pt 2.
Antagonist Edition
Monty (the crow) Finch
"Lift the heart from the depths it's fallen to
We all want something new
But can't seem to follow through"
The vibe of this song is so spacy and fluid. It's not the lyrics but more the melody that I think Monty would be very into. He's just a little crow guy who is suddenly so full of love and joy and conflicted emotions.
Esther Finch
"Ha, ha, woman, what you gonna do?
You destroyed all the virtues that the Lord gave you"
I mean... I fully think Esther would listen to this while hexing someone and ringing a cowbell around the house. Monty is her backup vocals, he's heard the song so many times he knows exactly when to crow.
The Cat King
"Ooh, let me feel
Your heartbeat (Grow faster, faster)
Ooh, can you feel my love heat? (Ohh)
Come on and sit on my hot seat of love
And tell me how do you feel, right after all"
He IS such a loverboy, this cat's had his heart broken time after time for centuries. He's a self-proclaimed romantic whose kingdom is all about wants and pleasure, and he's willing to wait for his crush to come back from hell.
This is purely self-service, I don't believe these characters would listen to these songs specifically, but they are my favorites and I have little scenarios in my brain connected to these songs and characters.

Burn the House Down: Preston Lithwick-Moore
Playlist 2 of my Burn the House Down series!
God, what is there to say about First Gentleman Preston Lithwick-Moore? He was in a double-beard lavender marriage with the first woman president. He adored his stepdaughter. He developed from an idealistic but overconfident Ivy League grad to a champion of queer rights. He ended up being the only out senator on the Hill. His dad was a dick but her was determined to be a better stepfather than his father ever was to him. He loved Luis with all his heart and called him his soulmate but considered Janine to be his mirror and his match. As my beta-reader called him, "the greatest stepdilf in the world." As his playlist description deems him:
The charmer of Washington. The love of Luis' life. Janine's match. Annette's biggest fan.

Snippet of the next Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy chapter :)
"Oliver was going to win the Quidditch Cup, if it was the last thing he did. Slytherins? Fuck them. Ravenclaw? Brains are good for nothing without the skill to back it up. Fuck them. (Apologies to Clearwater). Hufflepuff? They reckoned their new seeker was better than Potter. The thought was laughable. Fuck them and their sappy sportsmanship. The cup was Oliver’s."
I can't promise when exactly the next chapter will be out but hopefully soon. I'm working slowly but surely through it and as always, I appreciate everyone's patience! <33

Bosslove Songs
And the Bosslove song of the day is...
Lyrics:
I can dim the lights and sing you songs full of sad things
We can do the tango, just for two
I can serenade and gently play on your heart strings
Be your Valentino, just for you
Ooh, love, ooh, lover boy
What're you doing tonight? Hey, boy
Set my alarm, turn on my charm
That's because I'm a good old-fashioned lover boy
Ooh, let me feel your heartbeat (grow faster, faster)
(Ooh-ooh) can you feel my love heat? (Ooh-ooh)
Come on and sit on my hot seat of love
And tell me how do you feel, right after all
I'd like for you and I to go romancing
Say the word, your wish is my command
Ooh, love, ooh, lover boy
What're you doing tonight? Hey, boy
Write my letter, feel much better
And use my fancy patter on the telephone
When I'm not with you, think of you always
(I miss those long hot summer nights) I miss you
When I'm not with you, think of me always
Love you, love you
Hey, boy, where do you get it from?
Hey, boy, where did you go?
I learned my passion in the good old-fashioned school of lover boys
Dining at the Ritz, we'll meet at nine
(One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine o'clock) precisely
I will pay the bill, you taste the wine
Driving back in style, in my saloon, will do quite nicely
Just take me back to yours, that will be fine
Come on and get it
Ooh, love (there he goes again)
Ooh, lover boy (he's my good old-fashioned lover boy, ooh)
What're you doing tonight? Hey, boy
Everything's all right, just hold on tight
That's because I'm a good old-(fashioned, fashioned) lover boy
Analysis:
Nothing to say, this just screams "BOSSLOVE! BOSSLOVEEEEE!"

Unas de mis canciones preferidas.
"Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy"
Oye chico, ¿a dónde fuiste?
