I just noticed, in your HHStargazers AU no one has pupils - except for Alastor and, if she's canon, Carmilla. Does that mean slit pupils are a sign of a demon in disguise?
Good eye! 👈👈👀 (Pun unintended.) Though I don't really plan for this trait to be repeatedly shared amongst the disguised demons. Mostly to not limit my designs to an obvious tell. But the slit pupils were indeed intentional flaws I added in for those two in particular. Because according to MY headcanon, both angels and demons are beings beyond human comprehension. Thus, it's only to be expected that even when they TRY to fit in, they'll be unable to keep EVERY aspect of their uncanny nature concealed. At best, they're imperfect imitations of what "normal" should be. It just so happens that in my AU, angels have a much easier time concealing most of their little quirks and oddities away than the sinners for my own reasons and as for WHY no one ever grew suspicious of the eye thing, it's because Charlie's curiosity could be easily curved. While for Lucius to point this out, he'll have to admit that he's been staring at Alastor's eyes a lot whenever he gets close enough to drown in the depths of his gaze and- EHEM!!! Which he's NEVER done, mind you! AhahaHAH- What slit pupils??? Never noticed those before. Nuh-uh. NO siree. NOPE! Lucius is normally so, SO normal about Alastors VERY much normal eyes in a TOTALLY normal amount of normal. A-ANYWAAAYS!!! Lucius would also be a hypocrite if he was bothered by them considering his own occupation and the people he's usually surrounded by (yet to be revealed). As for the other humans, Alastor doesn't care enough about their opinions for it to be a threat to him and people often just avoid the guy unnerving them with his creepy ass stare. So it's all good! Hope you like these bonus fun facts! 'Cause I have a feeling I left you with just as much questions as answers, but that's the fun of an ongoing story, yeah? Stay tuned~! 😉✨️ -Bubbly💙

Reverse First Contact AU
[Technology Introduction] The technology of the Transformers themselves has been fully assimilated and harmonised with human life. The moment the Transformers landed on Earth they essentially disappeared. Their foot print hidden. Falling in place of the sudden shroud of tech and buildings that humans learned to create from the experimentations that immediately arose from them. Experimentations some may have not survived. All components pulled apart and recycled like the rest of humanity's machinery. Until it eventually one day it stopped. Leading to the research and preservation of this rare exotic line of specimens. Due to the world wide abundance of the energon tech. Some wrongly believe that the Transformers were built by humans and that even the little known history of the alien species is actually entirely made up for emersion of these new 'attractions'. The wildly varied enclosures provide accessibility to a myriad of security risk potentials everyday. And the walls are the only thing separating the fascinating bots from the public.

Lore-drop, RWBY-Style
What no one talks about in RWBY is how all lore is delivered by in-universe characters. Even the World of Remnant world-building segments are narrated by established figures in the series. The closest we've ever gotten to an omniscient narrator is Jinn, and judging by how she enjoys exposing Oz's secrets, even she's not above having biases. (And that's not even getting into the amount of posts I've seen claiming Jinn is unreliable because she was made by the God of Light).
The practical aspect of this is that it gives CRWBY the freedom to shape their world almost however they want. If they want to introduce something that goes against what's already been established, it can be justified by claiming that whomever gave out the previous lore must have been wrong, either by getting their facts wrong or was purposely distorting them. It means CRWBY can retcon their world-building without it being a retcon.

#mp answers#i've been trying so hard not to be annoying to my bnha friends but if you will allow me to push this for this ask let me say 🙏#if you're afraid of the episode count for one piece the manga is a lot quicker read while being just as enjoyable because the art style is#an actual delight. its great its fantastic im absolutely in love with it#the series is soooo good and i know luffy can seem unappealing to people before they start but he's just SUCH a great character & continues#to be even now. the story is SO GOOD the characters are SO GOOD... theres so much lore and world building that its insane#if you read the manga we get 'cover stories' on what's going on with previous characters to see what theyre up to even though we moved on#from where we left them. a lot of these cover stories blend into the main story so well its just seamless#there's one where we get introduced to a character we dont see hundreds of episodes into the anime and they show up like; during the second#saga. the series is about traveling to other islands and every single arc has been tied to another in some way or form that shows up later#even if its sagas and sagas later- it still becomes relevant again!! it's a huge ongoing story and there isnt a single arc that feels like#it has no purpose (sans filler in the anime-but even then!! some filler arcs are really entertaining!)#it's emotional! its sad! its downright stupid and silly but GOD... you can feel the love that oda put into this series and his characters#and the emotions in the expressions and the messages the story gives off it just makes me UEUHGHHAHGHH!!!#it's all about the adventure and the romance of it all! its about the freedom it brings and bringing freedom to others!#its a series where treasure should be a focus given its pirates and the its a giant treasure hunt for the one piece and yet! and yet so man#of the characters treasures are things that are not coins and gems but people and promises and family and and#im going to EXPLODE i love one piece

Okay I’ve been trying to put my thoughts together on this for a while. I would really like to hear about the matriarchy vs patriarchy in your Hyrule.
I mean, so. In the most recent chapter we heard a bit about the royal family, the queen of Hyrule seemingly was the face of the crown, with the king potentially being a less public figure, several daughters were born, and died until current Zelda was born. The king didn’t seem to think it was a bad thing that the last child of his late wife was a girl. So, obviously a woman can lead, and is allowed to rule the kingdom, although not uncontested, that may just be a facet of a power hungry kingdom.
This leads into the Shiekah, absolutely a matriarchy the militarist and spiritual leader (who is seemingly usually the same person) is assumedly always a woman, Impa. The Shiekah always serve the crown.
The generals of Hyrule as far as I can tell consist majorly of men and to my memory there is no named female generals, and, there are no female solders. Yes, there are Zora and sheikah “soldiers” but these are lent soldiers from different nations. At the start of the story the draft is specifically mentioned to draft every man older than fifteen. Meemaw’s sons both enlisted in the war, one was drafted the other seemingly enlisted himself. Kat was not enlisted. Of course it was only required for one son to enlist at the start of the war, and near the second Kat was unlikely to be forced to fight due to her condition. There are mainly woman and children in the civilian camp, the wives and family of enlisted soldiers. When Legend was in hiding he hid in the civilian camp and was a woman. Which to me implies that it is less suspicious to be a woman in the camp then a man. Which again to me implies that a woman is less likely to be drafted then a man. Which makes me believe that the draft is not applied to woman.
Now, the knights of Hyrule most certainly have woman amongst their ranks, but the knights seem to be more voluntary then the army. And! Feature many other nations in their ranks. Zora, Gerudo, and Goron, all have major roles within this organization.
Okay, maybe this is less of a question and more of an analyzes of the gender roles in the military of Hyrule .
I Do have a question at the end of this though!
Are woman allowed in the army? And if they are is it voluntary? Or are they drafted just the same as men?
Sorry if my phrasing is weird, I’ve maybe put too much thought into this! Thank you!!!<3<3<3
My initial vision for the Hyrule in CTB was for it to be very, very sexist society. I ended up curbing back that idea because I realized that I was the only person on the planet who wanted to see a shit ton of sexism in their loz fic.
Instead, Hyrule is a patriarchy in a post-feminism society. There was once a heavy amount of sexism affecting daily life that, while not blatant now, still makes the foundations of Hylian culture. Draft laws were made when there was a larger gender disparity. They have not been changed because, well, deep down no one wants to force women to go to war. The cultural value is still there even as society has become more equal.
That means that there are no female soldiers, and ergo no women in the upper brass. If a Hylian woman wants to join the military, she has to join the medical team or be in the support staff.
Gender roles are more rigid among Hyrule's elite, with men taking most positions of power. Respectable women are expected to spend their time in more traditionally feminine ways, such as managing an estate or charity. Gender roles are less rigid outside of the upper class. Some members of the middle class emulate the elite's rigidity, while others embody a freer perspective. Nearly every lower class woman works for a living, but there are some men who nonetheless idealize the subservient housewife. Not much different from life nowadays.
(I wanted to have Linkle be a budding feminist who had a really flat, naive view of what it meant to be feminist. For example, she would complain that women should be included in the draft so that women would be treated as equals, not that no person deserves to have their right to life taken by the government; I ended up needing to use Linkle's screen time for matters relating to the plot. That being said, a modern day Linkle would unironically have Notorious RBG merchandise.)
All that's to say that Hyrule is a fairly strict patriarchy. The way Zelda and the women of the Royal Family obtain "power" has less to do with any actual power and more to do with her function as a figurehead.
Because Zelda is Hylia incarnate, strict expectations of purity and goodness is imposed onto her. She has to be a madonna-like figure. Failure to embody this idealized femininity is not acceptable. As long as she conforms to this image, she has some influence. But if she ever dares to stray, she's is to be punished if not formally then socially. She would not only be a failure, but a pariah.
Because the monarchy's right to rule is derived from Hylia's bloodline, the crown can be passed on to anyone of any gender, decided by birth order. A son is preferred, but passing the crown onto the husband of the eldest Zelda is traditional. Queens can hold the throne, and there is a precedent of princesses becoming the primary monarch with their spouses regulated to consort.
However, that decision is based on politics. A princess who wants to be the primary monarch would have to campaign among the nobles to ensure that there will be no dissent. Some princesses train their entire lives to rule the kingdom independently. Other princesses plan on finding an advantageous partner who would become king while they manage more religious duties. And even more princesses are married off in their parents' political schemes.
Above all, the bloodline of Hylia has to stay on the throne. As long as there is an heir to inherit and produce more heirs, all is well. Twilight's Zelda married another woman, which was controversial because she would not be able to produce an heir within her marriage; she did not declare an heir before her passing in order to avoid an upset in court politics; her reign was quickly followed by a period of unrest as the nobles with vague royal ties made claims as to having the most of Hylia's blood within their family line. (I mentioned all that somewhere before; if not in CTB, then on this blog somewhere.)
But that's just the Hylians. The other tribes of Hyrule have different gender standards. (The Gerudo and Gorons more or less have one gender each, so we'll skip them.)
Rito are the most egalitarian of the tribes, mostly by way of being less of a cohesive group and more of a collection of nomadic flocks.
The Zora have a similar gender inequality as the Hylians, albeit slightly stricter. Zora woman had a higher social expectation to marry and product children. While working outside of the home is possible, it's seen as temporary step before marriage. Though, with their extended lifespans, most Hylians do not live to see when Zora women leave the workforce to become house wives; it's a common misconception among liberal Hylians that the Zora have a more egalitarian society. (In story, Orlanda complained that her parents still expected her to give up knighthood in favor of setting down and becoming a mother.)
The Sheikah are the true all-genders-being-equal culture (which is balanced out by the cultist ideology imposed on the members of the tribe). The head of the clan, Impa, is traditionally a woman because she is expected to be the handmaiden of Hylia incarnate. If there are no female heirs to Hylia's bloodline living, it is possible for a man to become the head of the tribe. He would shed his mortal identity and become Impaz.
And finally, let's talk the Knights of Hyrule. Believe it or not, but the issue of the clan's inclusivity has less to do with gender and more with race. Because the clan originated as a bloodline, women would have been expected to serve the clan in some form, with the sporadic woman achieving knighthood. Over hundreds of years, this became more frequent until it was a regular occurrence.
The clan opened up to non-Harkinians around 150 years ago in a bid to bolster the dying clan's numbers. Fifty years after that, the clan allowed non-Hylians. The knights were perceived as being a second-Sheikah clan that existed only to terrorize non-Hylians. Great-great-etc. grandparent of Warriors opened the clan to the other tribes in a bid to prevent the monarchy from stripping the clan of power or disbanding them entirely.
Gradually, non-Hylains rose in the ranks before becoming knights themselves. The speed and frequency depended entirely on the current Master Knight's beliefs. The clan was long integrated by the time Lincoln took power, but he has a goal to switch either the Knight of Forest or the Knight of Light to another non-human, preferably a Rito.

Im gonna make a two posts about my original characters and then one thats about the world building. This one is about my characters that have their own world, the other will be about my pjo ocs. I'm gonna link both at the end of this as soon as I am done
I don't have too much in the way of epic backstories for most of my characters. Their lives are pretty chill before and after the plot besides maybe Delilah
Cw major character death
Delilah is a mage. Mages are like a sub-species of human that are super closely related to Homo Sapiens except they have an organ that allows them to use magic (more abt them in the other post)
Delilah is born into the house of Ainsworth which basically means her family is old money and they have quite the reputation when it comes to teaching about magic and selling magic stuff
Delilah wasn't the most rebellious child, but it was clear that she did not want to inherit the family business, reputation, etc or want to have that burden placed on her from a young age. This was a problem since she was the only heir of the Ainsworth family since her mother nor anyone else in the family really had kids
Delilah's mother ends up deciding to put an illegal tracking spell on Delilah to help keep her in check and stuff
The reason the spell is illegal is partially because Delilah was around eight years old when it was placed on her and partially because it hurts like hell to be cast
The spell left a lichtenberg scar on her back that stemmed from the basr of her neck that only grew as she aged and her magic matured
She always wears long shirt and turtlenecks/scarves and stuff like that to hide her scar since her mom never wanted anyone to find out
Btw her dad died pretty early on
Anyways, eventually she figured out a way to counter the tracking spell so long as she refreshed it every so often and she fled to some city where she met some of the other ocs
Before she fled, she discussed her plan with Rose, her best friend, until it was absolutely perfect
Delilah started rooming with Taylor (and they were roommates!) and they even worked the same job at a local cafè
There, Taylor introduced her to Lily and Chloe and they would all become fast friends with one another
During this period, Delilah and Rose often caught up with eachother via letters. Although Rose was very happy about how her friend was able to leave her abusive mother, she still deeply missed her friend
Taylor and Delilah start catching feelings for eachother but Lily, Chloe, and even Rose, all figure out way faster than they do
They end up having their first kiss together under a mistletoe on Christmas while they were taking their break at their usual spot. This was entirely planned by Lily and Chloe and they watched as they continued on with their shift
Not too long after, I'd say about March, Delilah either forgets to refresh the counter-tracking spell, or it fails somehow or something like that, but either way, her mother finds her and makes her come back home so she can marry this guy to help the business (how homophobic)
The guy she's supposed to marry doesn't like the idea much either and helps her not have to go through with it
Taylor and co. crash the wedding, Tayor says I object, etc etc and Delilah doesn't have to get married since legal loopholes and it not being an actual arranged marriage more like a forced one (its complicated)
Before that however, Delilah's mom decides to be a dick and turn Lily into a crow which kinda really sets off Delilah. She's so angry in fact, that she makes all the silverware, plates, and cups float but before she can attack her mother, Rose who had been attending, stops her
She gets Lily turned back into a human, but after a few weeks of being back home, she starts being able to understand crows. Then she starts to collect more shiny things. Then she stars growing feathers which she tries to pull out every morning until she can't keep it secret anymore.
Shortly after getting back home, Delilah and Taylor start dating and so do Lily and Chloe
Eventually, Lily can turn into a crow on command. I don't have a name for them yet, but although it is uncommon, normal folk with a mage ancestor(s) can sometimes gain abilities if they are hexed by a mage, depending on how far back the ancestor(s) was and stuff
The more she does stuff like that with her newfound abilities, the more she turns more crow-like
Her eyes change, she starts growing more feathers, and one night after really testing her powers, her feet change to more bird like, her fingers grow a bit longer, and even some of her organs change a bit which btw kinda really super hurts (jane doe quote)
Rose ends up visiting more often and since she's way better at potions/alchemy stuff, she whips up an elixr that helps keep Lily more human
At the last arc cus i have no idea how to do in between stuff, Delilah ends up doing the ome thing you're not supposed to do. Trusting strangers. By this point, girl is pretty desperate. She feels as if all this stuff her friends have gone through is her fault. She needs to protect them and she's greedy for power. Maybe if she wasn't so weak, she would help Chloe's siblings get out of that hellhole of a home.
So she ends up taking experimental magic steroids. Everyone told her this wasn't a good idea. But this is supposed to boost her magic! It was supposed to fix what was wrong with her!
It ends up making that magic sav organ work way too hard and overworks the heart. There's too much of that magic stuff in her bloodstream. It accelerates the growth of her scar, making it grow to her face and making her partially blind. Not that that would matter since she doesn't last too long after that. Give it at most 20 minutes before she passes.
I have more but its more ending stuff and i dont really have that much for in between so yeah
Also heres just a bit abt their identities:
Delilah: She is a lesbian and goes by she/her pronouns. she would be a Hecate kid if she was in pjo and she would be a Ravenclaw. I don't have a voice claim for her yet
Taylor: she is bisexual and uses she/they pronouns. She has big codependency problems and really freaked out when Delilah went missing and blamed herself a lot. She would be a child of Nike if she were in pjo and she really likes working out. She would also be a Gryffindor
Lily: She is asexual, demiromantic, and panromantic. She uses she/it pronouns. She would be a child of Iris if she was in pjo and a Hufflepuff. While she is quite intelligent, she is incredibly loyal to her friends and is the mom of the whole group.
Chloe: She is bisexual and goes by she/her pronouns. She would be a child of Apollo if she was in pjo and she would be a Hufflepuff. She is the sunshine friend of the group, always using her humor to help lighten the mood, even at inappropriate times.
Rose: She is aroace and goes by she/they pronouns. She would also be a child of Hecate if she was in pjo and she would be a Ravenclaw. She hates feeling left out and desperately needs to feel included. She puts in a lot of effort for her friends and is always there for them when she can be. She doesn't live in the same city as them, but she visits quite often. Aside from Delilah, she is the closest to Lily, especially since their personalities are pretty similar and since she makes the elixr for her.

me: *making MCD lore -- specifically about the Old Gods of Ru'aun that were forgotten after the rise of Lady Irene -- for fun*
me: *trying to come up with Magick Users Lore*
me: *remembers that Zoey once introduced herself as a fairy before she became an elf*
me:,,,,,humans used to be fairies. Elves and Fairies lived amongst one another (along with the other mythicals) until something happened that resulted in a group of fairies losing their wings but not their magic.
me: these wingless fairies did eventually start losing their magic though, as generations went on and their numbers grew, their magic began to dwindle. they eventually lost their magic identifiers -- pointed ears, sharp teeth, etc -- until they became known as modern day humans.
me: the fairies that didn't lose their wings eventually went into permanent hiding due to being hunted down by humans and wingless fairies (later to be known as magick users).
me: they were being hunted because the wingless fairies/humans believed that they could regain their wings (or their magick) if they ripped the wings off the fairies/consumed them/stole their magick.
me: there are little to no written records of fairies, and the ones that do exist are held in the yggdrasil forest where humans cannot find them. nobody knows where the surviving fairies are because their locations weren't written down, and the elves that did know have long since passed and/or disappeared.
me: by the time MCD happens, fairies are considered a myth and humans/mortals have no idea that they are descended from them. also the reason meif'wa and other species can be magick users is because some of the wingless fairies evolved into different species.

immediately following the release of end-world normopathy, I went to go look at the description for qualia automata on the team 6x111 carrd and
""It's not a nightmare, just some nonsense." Tamari, a prototype android powered by AI, longs to prove their humanity to their creator, Dr. ███████ ██████, and a ██████ █████████, ███████. When Tamari goes missing without explanation, ███████ is faced with the nature of ██████, humanity, and reality itself as they search to understand their ███████'s antics." at least half of these blanks can be filled now, which I managed to piece together with a couple lines from the song as well as the description
""It's not a nightmare, just some nonsense." Tamari, a prototype android powered by AI, longs to prove their humanity to their creator, Dr. Fayrouz ██████, and a second automaton, Mariyam. When Tamari goes missing without explanation, Mariyam is faced with the nature of ██████, humanity, and reality itself as they search to understand their brother's antics."
or at least this is what I'm 90% sure it says, which I think is very neat. as for what remains, they're both six letters long; my guess is that either both are Fayrouz's last name, or the first one is Fayrouz's last name and the second is something we still don't know yet and will get revealed later
EDIT: the carrd has been updated with the blanks filled in!
I was off my mark with "automaton" and "brother" (it was "sibling", which as someone mentioned to me in the replies, also has 7 letters and Tamari is typically referred to with they/them), though the words I used do roughly mean the same thing as the actual thing
we now have fayrouz's last name, khalid, and the last word I had no idea about was "family". awesome!

Holidays in Hallownest
So I am going to split up the holidays into multiple different sections as some areas of Hallownest don't celebrate the same holidays as they have their own culture.
Hallownest Holidays:
Hallownest Anniversary- This week is dedicated to the anniversary of when the first sector of The City was built. There is one dedicated day where there is a parade but the whole week is off for bugs that aren't essential workers.
Pale Days- This day is dedicated to when the King and Queen got married and solidified their union. Similar to Valentine's Day.
Weaver Holidays:
Weaves'day - A day dedicated to the art of weaving and the appreciation of it. The whole day is dedicated to a festival where you can trade artworks have competitions and wear the best outfit you could make.
Moss-ish Holidays:
Summers End- This week is to celebrate the last week of summer and to celebrate the warm air before having to harvest their crops. The Festival of Unn takes place during this week.
Joy Harvests: This day is celebrated after all of the crops have been picked. It is a day where the mosskin can enjoy what they have been working on all season.
Moth-ish Holidays:
Shining Light- was a holiday dedicated to both of the two moth gods, The Radiance and The Nightmare King. Once the Radiance started attacking the bugs of Hallownest and that the Radiance was going to be sealed away, moths have been leaning away from their traditions.
Unrestrained Day-was a day dedicated for moths to just let out all of their grievances that had been building up during the entire year.
Lovers Flame- is the moth version of Pale Days or Valentines Day. Love burns regardless if it burns fast or slow.
Holidays that are celebrated in multiple locations:
Saint Joni’s Day- This day is for Saint Joni, a bug who dedicated many years to healing bugs. Her services are immortalized and she is immortalized as well by the Lifeblood Creature. Since lifeblood has been greatly abused, this holiday is banned in Hallownest. Is celebrated right outside the borders of Hallownest(Howling Cliffs), The Mantis Tribe, Mosskins, and the moth tribe.
Winter Solstice- some bugs and plants become more active for a few days to celebrate that halfway mark of the cold season. This is celebrated by market stalls opening, releasing lanterns in Dirtmouth and gift giving by the next morning. This is how Hallownest celebrates it but all of the locations have their different traditions.
I have been working on this for like a week so my creativity has been running dry. If there are any other ideas, comment or whatever.

Considered not dropping these here, but eh, have them
Great sea pantheon let’s go
These guys are the major gods, and they exist to maintain the Great Flow
here’s an explanation of the core of the mythos
The Great Flow
Essentially, an endless stream of pure magic that represents the natural cycle of life, death, and creation. All of existence comes from the flow, and eventually all of existence will return to it
The major gods are beings created by it to maintain it and the natural order, the god of the beyond maintains the souls of the dead and ensures that they return to the flow after death and banishes those who deny the flow, the god of the abyss guards those banished from the flow and ensures that they will never return to it and taint it. The gods of sky, sea, and land maintain creation and life while helping maintain the form of the flow, and the god of monsters is the entity that ensures the natural order continues by creating means to kill the living
The Fae/Fae magic is formed from currents/ripples in the flow, it’s stray magic that is incredibly pure and unstable, beings made or influenced by it are outside of the influence of the gods
The main idea of the religion is nature and the natural order, death is seen as the end point of life and not something to fear, but embrace due to it being natural and continuing the natural cycle, because of this necromancy and undeath is usually frowned upon
