10 Forgotten Wrestlers From ECW's Early Days
These are 10 early Eastern Championship Wrestling performers who, whilst playing a role in the promotion, got lost in the shuffle and have today slipped from the mind of many fans.
Griffin Kaye Up to 1994 when Shane Douglas’s famously threw down the NWA belt, Eastern Championship Wrestling was little more than a regional independent promotion who happened to have a TV deal. Bankrolled by Tod Gordon, he was still able to get some notable names on programming such as Terry Funk, Kevin Sullivan, and Jimmy Snuka, although elsewhere, the card was propped up by little-known,…

Donald Trump valamivel leöntve. Nem akarom tudni, hogy mivel öntötték le ennek a derék, becsületes, szőke, fehér hazafinak a csillagát.

HO HO HO! 🎅 It's your Summer Exchange Secret Santa again! I'm hard at work getting your Summer Gift ready (and it's almost finished!), but Santa has just a few more questions for you...
1. Talk to me about some of your favorite songs! Which songs have a vibe that really resonate with you / make you feel a certain way / etc.? 2. Do you prefer to be in the middle of all the action, or are you someone who likes to sit back and relax?
Can't wait to hear from you! HO HO HO!! *joyous sounds of Secret Summer Santa riding away on his sleigh*
Oh! Hello again! ☺️ To answer your questions will be a delight!
1. I listen to alot of music but theres a few that really stick out to me and thats:
• Shade by Atta Boy
• That's the Way by Led Zeppelin
• A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square by Vera Lynn
• Moonlight Serenade by Glenn Miller
• I Don't Want to Change the World by Ozzy Osbourne
2. It depends on the situation. I'm someone who always strives to help in any kind of situation and very rarely can take a back bench. Its hard to be on the side lines and relax at the same time.
I look forward to your gift! I'm really getting excited!!

What's the vibe? #56
News:
What are people talking about culturally at the moment? Dune 2! Alexander McQueen AW24! High & Low! Problemista! Celebrity Big Brother? (Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh, Kate Middleton's uncle, Zeze Mills???)
Brits 2024 were last week - Raye (winner of 6 awards) is an important artist to know. Cmat wore a buster dress by Sophie Lincoln also.
Traid are celebrating 25 years of trading.... and they have a new rebrand to celebrate.
The BMJ have published a paper titled 'Effect of exercise for depression: systematic review and network meta-analysis of randomised controlled trials' and it has found that dancing is extremely beneficial for people, and even more beneficial than SSRIs.
This is why dancing is eternal - speaks to the body, the spirit, can't be contained and anti-night club laws seek to create a more unhealthy society.
The new landscape of the city:
The BT Tower was sold by BT Group for £275M and is now owned by MCR Hotels which will be turning it into an upscale hotel. The city of London doesn't lack iconic hotels - Claridges, The Standard, Ace Hotel (now called One Hundred Shoreditch, Hoxton Hotels - what angle could they be taking? What needs will this new iconic building fill for their guests....
Milan + Paris Fashion Week:
Fur made from denim - really great fashion innovations from Glenn Martens and team. Alongside the streaming of the run up to the show on a 24 hour watch. Something about the way this brand operates - it's almost fake transparency but not in a bad way, in a way like you are in the in group and we're not pretentious. We know what poppers are....It really reminded me of Big Brother culture - the voice, the absurd fashion, the faces on the screen watching you. The people physically in the seats feel less important because we can't see their faces but the digital, peering in....there's something there Mr Martens.
Age of Surveillance - embracing humanity and unexpected. A 24 hour stream is a bit of an invasion of privacy but letting people in can create this dynamic environment, tailored to what the audience wants. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. These kind of live streams are related to mukbang culture, the need to be comforted even though the people that we're watching may not be that comfortable.
youtube
A lot of the runway feels less fun, full of capes, fur (!!!), less risk. Recession time, no time to mess about :( London and New York even though lack of investment feel real - exciting, bigger brands want to show in Milan and Paris which is fair enough but there is no heart. I'm sure they'll make some money.
RE: New McQueen - interesting, how does one recreate a house that has so much passion, and turn it into their own thing, their own commercial thing? I think there's more promise in Sean McGirr's McQueen than in the original Gucci debut. There's something there in not making something super commercial on the first thought.

Person of the week:
Eugene Angelo - VJ for Peggy Gou, also been on several interesting panels such as below and also a CTM talk about Gen Z's clubbing habits. Works with creator Tigris Li on technologist projects.

Please read the I-D newsletter also, it seems like they put a lot of work into it and I think it has some interesting ideas. But let's see....

Black Sabbath - Paranoid (1970)
Black Sabbath were an English rock band formed in Birmingham in 1968 by guitarist Tony Iommi, drummer Bill Ward, bassist Geezer Butler and vocalist Ozzy Osbourne. They are often cited as pioneers of heavy metal music. The band helped define the genre with releases such as Black Sabbath (1970), Paranoid (1970), and Master of Reality (1971). The band had multiple line-up changes following Osbourne's departure in 1979, with Iommi being the only constant member throughout its history.
After previous iterations of the group called the Polka Tulk Blues Band and Earth, the band settled on the name Black Sabbath in 1969. They distinguished themselves through occult themes with horror-inspired lyrics and tuned-down guitars. Signing to Philips Records in November 1969, they released their first single, "Evil Woman" in January 1970. Their debut album, Black Sabbath, was released the following month. Though it received a negative critical response, the album was a commercial success, leading to a follow-up record, Paranoid, later in 1970. The band's popularity grew, and by 1973's Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, critics were starting to respond favourably. Osbourne's regular use of drugs and alcohol led to his firing in 1979. He was replaced by former Rainbow vocalist Ronnie James Dio. Following two albums with Dio, Black Sabbath endured many personnel changes in the 1980s and 1990s that included vocalists Ian Gillan, Glenn Hughes, Ray Gillen and Tony Martin, as well as several drummers and bassists. In 1991, Iommi and Butler rejoined Dio and drummer Vinny Appice to record Dehumanizer (1992). The original line-up reunited with Osbourne in 1997 and released a live album Reunion. Black Sabbath's final studio album and nineteenth overall, 13 (2013), features all of the original members except Ward. During their farewell tour, the band played their final concert in their home city of Birmingham on 4 February 2017.
Black Sabbath were ranked by MTV as the "Greatest Metal Band" of all time, and placed second in VH1's "100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock" list. Rolling Stone magazine ranked them number 85 on their "100 Greatest Artists of All Time". They have sold over 70 million records worldwide. Black Sabbath were inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2005 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006. They have also won two Grammy Awards for Best Metal Performance, and in 2019 the band were presented a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
