Sabina's Ranger companion, Eamoc! More info under the cut :^)
About a year after Thaos's defeat, Sabina developed a close bond with a stag called Eamoc, whom she received as a gift from the Glanfathan tribes of Twin Elms. As the years passed, Eamoc's presence was instrumental in repairing Sabina's soul post-awakening, and as their two souls became intertwined, he became her ranger companion. After Caed Nua was destroyed, Eamoc was found carrying Sabina's hollow body on his back, and he followed as they set a course for Eothas.
While he loves Edér for the head scritches he gives, Eamoc does not care for Aloth, and no one (Sabina included) can understand why. It also took Eamoc quite some time to find his sea legs 😅

...okay this was supposed to be a tag rant on another post I was drafting, but this kind of makes a better point than what I was writing originally so let me try that again.
The thing about Edér Pillars Of Eternity and his theme of second chances is that not only that theme is everywhere for him (seriously. I did Not remember it being that present in his early dialogue but IT IS) but that his relationship with it changes over time.
At first, he's a worshipper of the god of second chances. Then, he is the one being offered a second chance, not by his god, but by a stranger who saves him from being hanged by literally just giving him something else to do with his life. Then, in Deadfire, he is the one delivering the Watcher's second chance, dragging them out of Caed Nua after it's been destroyed by Eothas. At that moment, he's closer to the embodiment of second chances than Eothas himself, which is kind of wild and exactly the kind of character arc I find fun, apparently.

I rolled a new Watcher, his name is Morok, he has a pet wolf and social anxiety
Tumblr media
All he knows about his birth family is that they abandoned him in the woods when he was only a few days old. The most obvious explanation is that he was born a death godlike and his appearance terrified whoever brought him into the world. Luckily, a ranger found him before hungry wild animals could. Morok was subsequently adopted by the same ranger and her wife, fitting quite well in their house on the edge of a growing settlement. His mothers took in more orphans over the years, so Morok grew up in a big family of six. All could be well if it wasn’t for other settlers, most of whom disliked having a death godlike as their neighbor. He was their bad omen, a bringer of misfortune, and they were quick to blame him for everything that went wrong.
Morok quickly learned that defending himself was pointless when he was outnumbered. It was easier to avoid people as much as possible and hide in the shadows. It was better not to burden his family with his troubles. He ended up spending most of his time in the woods, even sleeping there instead of his bed, so he wasn’t home when a tragedy struck. An outbreak of a disease prompted the settlers to direct their fear against the local godlike once again, but they escalated like never before and set Morok’s house on fire. His younger brother suffocated in the smoke, while the surviving family members ended up homeless.
He had always felt indebted to his adoptive family, and the realization that his presence endangered them made this debt unbearable. He left, determined to never return and never settle. He approached people only for transactional purposes — to do random short-term jobs, to get supplies, to ask for directions, to travel. He was uncomfortable with anything more than that.
He's a drifter with no destination. People usually perceive Morok as cold and even intimidating, but the truth is that he’s terrified of them all after being repeatedly punished for his existence.

Gilded Rose: Sharing Clothes
In a village inn on the road between Vale and Mistral…
Pyrrha: *wrapped in a spare blanket while her torn/filthy clothes are in the laundry* 😥
Jaune: Sorry, Pyr. I’d lend you my spare hoodie and jeans but they got messed up too!
Ruby: Oh! I’ve got an extra outfit you can totally borrow! Come on! *grabs Pyrrha’s hand and pushes her into the bathroom with a duffel bag of clothes*
Ruby: *stands guard in front of the door* Jaune, no peeking while Pyrrha changes! Just because we’re your girlfriends doesn’t mean you can be a perv!
Nora: Hey, we all shared a team dorm! It’s not like we never saw each other’s underwear!
Ren: Not to mention the Beacon locker rooms.
Jaune: It’s fine…I don’t want to make my girlfriends uncomfoorrrrruuuuuhhhh…. 😳
Pyrrha: >\\\\\<
Ruby: Jaune, what are youuuuuuhhhhh…. 😳
Pyrrha: *practically bursting out of Ruby’s smol goth outfit* 🫣
Pyrrha: Ruby I…I don’t think your corset and leggings fit me…! *tugging at skirt hem* 😖
Ruby: Goth Pyrrha is smoking hot…! 🥵
Jaune: I know, right?! 🥵
Ren: *politely averting his eyes*
Nora: Lookin’ good! 😁👍
Pyrrha: O////O

Billy Batson Fic Ideas: free to steal
Seriously have them, they're taking up too much brain storage (some are more fleshed out than others)
Gilded cage: Billy has been kidnapped by a fae/mage, who keeps him as their own little living magical battery, safely locked away. They provide him with everything from sweets to toys to extravagant clothes, keeping him happy, healthy, and most importantly, theirs.
Festival day: Every god has a designated festival day to honor and worship them, and Captain Marvel, being the champion of magic, should have one as well. On his birthday, offerings and gifts from both fae and humans are magically sent to him (or his room).
Magic Vs science: Billy learns science through the use of magic. Learning about chemistry? "Oh, it's just like alchemy but with more math." Learning how to code? "Oh, it's similar to writing spells; you instruct it to do this, then that, unless this happens." Home economics? Potion making, and so on.
Welcome to Fawcett (a spoiler for Welcome to Night Vale): the god (?) who claimed Fawcett as their own, witnessed the destruction of their city through nuclear war. In a desperate attempt to save their creation, they tried to remove Fawcett from the rest of the universe. However, in doingso, they fractured ever Fawcett across the multiverse. Now, it is a city that is stuck, it both exists and does not exist everywhere and everywhen
Epic The musical : the gods, with their divine voices, need to use talk in a manner that mortals can both survive and comprehend. This is why they use music and singing as a means of communication. The gods choose to sing through their mouthpiece, talking through Billy to break into song.

making a normal amount of effort to figure out the layout of Gilded Vale (and specifically the location of Edér's house) for fic purposes. since the Rask house is adjacent to the temple and has a fence, I assume it's probably one of the three houses we see at the bottom of the map (they all have smoking chimneys and thus aren't abandoned, but all of the houses have those because they're just set pieces in a video game that weren't designed with The Reaping in mind. I guess we can also say that maybe someone else moved into the Rask house since then, since the short story takes place just before the purges started)
anyway, if we assume that the Rask house is one of those three houses and Edér sees the temple on his left as he walks up, I guess the most likely direction for him to be coming from is from the bottom right corner of the map? there's a curve in the road there that would place the temple to your left and have the houses obscure it. considering this, I'm going to say his house is probably somewhere beyond that edge of the map

Just for fun: maybe a show of how both Aemma Arryn and Alicent Hightower would affect the court fashion by being from the Vale and Reach, respectably?
Oooh that sounds fun let’s do it!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I believe in Burgundian dresses in the Vale supremacy. It just fits the vibe also fur!!! Very important no? Just overall a style that fits that elegant upper class vibe of the Eyrie before the dance, which Aemma grew up in. Big headdresses are the staple of every outfit, especially the hennin cone with a gauzy veil draped around. A very gentle, almost Virginia kind of fashion that Aemma grows up wearing and brings to Kings Landing when she becomes queen
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After a while in kings landing, this Eyrie fashion has adapted to the city. The basic cut of the gown is still the same, but seems to be a bit more complex and layered and sluttier. Ostentatious rich women take the idea of that elegant Eyrie fashion and just gild and glitz the shit out of it. OR a woman might downplay the gown and dress simply and just really heighten the look and size of the headdress, making it increasingly impractical (think the mid 1700s in France).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
During Alicents early reign, she hasn’t garnered any influence or personal style yet and she’s still a young girl trying her best to get into the good graces of her old fart husband so she probably still resembles Aemma in her clothing. Modest and gentle without all of the grandiosity of the other women of kings landing, because of both the faith at Oldtown and her need to blend in as best she can. Eventually people start following in her footsteps, and more subdued and muted styles become popular, with a natural waist and bust coming back, as well as soft natural coloring
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once Alicent is firmly established, I think she starts to dress for piousness. Long sleeves that don’t billow out, skirts that cover everything and more, natural outline of the body, modest headdresses. And once the war begins this naturally starts to take hold throughout the city, as noblewomen go into mourning and also start to realize the excess they used to have cannot be afforded anymore.

i think blank slate characters only really work when you are given the chance to define who that character is/was just before the life changing events of the main story (or at least at some point early on in the game). for example in pillars of eternity you're asked Why you are travelling to Gilded Vale to start over, and depending on the background you've chosen, you're given a range of options to explain your character's decision to leave home. Every watcher we play has left their home (whether this is the White that Wends, Old Vailia, Aedyr, etc is up to you), but their reasons for doing so are varied and depend entirely on what the player decides. My big problem with dragon age inquisition is that i don't think it ever takes the time to ask these kinds of questions or even show what life was like just before the Life Changing Events. why was your inquisitor chosen to attend the conclave?* how did they feel about it? good, negative, neutral? who exactly convinced or told them to attend? i feel like inquisition opening up right after the destruction of the conclave would be like pillars of eternity opening up right as you reach Gilded Vale, after the attack at the ruins and witnessing Thaos' ritual. It skips a step that for me, would have made my character feel more solid and more immersed in the story. I think Origins handled this best. For example a Mahariel warden will always explore those ruins with Tamlen and become blighted by the mirror, but there are several decisions you can make along the way that inform the kind of character you're playing. Does your Mahariel feel fine with exploring the ruins without Marethari's permission? Are they cautious about entering the cave or go in with a more cavalier attitude? Do they care about the questions that come with elven objects and human architecture being found together? Do they try to convince Tamlen to step away from the mirror? it goes on. (*Obviously there is the blanket statement in character creation that tells you that you were chosen but it's never really explored any further than that. The focus is completely on what comes next.)
