Unorthodox (2020)

A Hasidic Jewish woman flees an arranged marriage in Brooklyn to start a new life abroad, but her past catches up to her.

I recently stumbled upon this mini-series, and wow, what a gem! It's incredibly moving and thought-provoking, and I believe the story will resonate with anyone, regardless of their background—it's about finding your own path in life and living on your own terms. Shira Haas, who plays the title role, is simply phenomenal. With only four episodes, it's time well spent. A definite must-watch!

challengers twitter pointed out something very cool: art's coach speaking to him in german!

the subs says "just invite her to serve." (which doesn't make any sense? and art doesn't even go to her after that lmao?) but he apparently actually says "wirf den ball etwas höher." which means "throw the ball a little higher.".

so art knows what patrick's house looks like which means he went there, he understands when his coach speaks to him in german and he's the only one who can pronounce "zweig", a german surname, the right way.

art learning german for patrick and spending holidays with him and his family is canon, i don't make the rules.

In my other post about LoL people asked what happened so here is a short explanation.

It is a show from Amazon Prime in which 6 comedians are together in one room for 6 hours. There aren't allowed to laugh or smile. The last one who doesn't do it wins and get a prize money.

Only the moderator or the guest are allowed to laugh.

The show involves lots of super funny sketches from the comedians, minor psycho terror and short comedy shows from guest stars.

In the German show they had people like one of the guys of Monthy Python.

Faking Hitler (2023)

🎬In the 80s the German paper `Stern' published Hitler's diary, giving insights into his deepest and private thoughts. However, they turned out to be fake and triggered one of the countries' biggest media scandals.

📝A funny at times (the forger story is quite funny), thought provoking (about the new generation learning about the dark past of their country), and the importance of good journalism. It's really well done and as someone who didn't know much about this story, I felt that I learnt quite a bit, enough to read more into it. Check it out.

In UK it is available on Channel 4 app under 'Walter Presents'.

I keep getting impressed by Daniel Donskoy, he is so versatile. His character was really interesting.

Then we learned that Adam was Jonas (the only German phrase I learned from this show was ich bin du) and that in a way, Adam and Claudia were fighting each other the entire way.
