So I've been busy doing yet more fanart! Because often when I finish one, it isn't long before I wanna start another! I felt like doing another sketch fanart this time, and chose Sleeping In The Cold Below as the video from which to take reference. Shading the clothing was a pain, as it always is, but overall it turned out a lot better than I expected, and I'm pleasantly surprised with it! Hope you like it!

Recently I've been trying to nail down a simpler but equally fun painting style, and I think I've landed somewhere I'm happy with!
Ft. Geoff and the star of the show, Olive 😄 (from a recent VoicePlay video) [process shots] [reference]

WOO FANART YIPPIE !!!
@fallingblueroses I hope you like :)
A little something-something. VoicePlay is rehearsing in PattyCake and something unexpected happens.
Tony's going to ban them any time now.
***
Geoff wiped his forehead with his hand and frowned at the large drops of sweat on his palm. He was warmer than made sense, especially since they'd been in PattyCake's air-conditioned studio for some time. He picked up his water bottle from the table and chugged it down, but it did nothing to cool him off.
"Hey." Eli's hand felt icy on his arm. "Are you okay? You don't look so good."
"I don't feel so good." He felt the sweat literally dripping from his face as he leaned against the table and closed his eyes. His legs felt weak, and he was suddenly unbearably tired.
"Come on." Eli pulled him to a chair and sat him down. "Hey, Cesar! Get some ice water and a towel!"
Geoff heard Cesar reply. "Coming right up!"
Eli forced Geoff's chin up. "Geoff. Hey. Look at me." Geoff opened his eyes but they were blurry enough to where he couldn't have recognized Eli if he wasn't speaking. "Talk to me. What's wrong?"
Geoff yanked his shirt over his head and wiped his dripping face with it. "I feel like I'm in an oven." The world began to spin hard and he grabbed Eli's arms in panic. "Eli--"
He was out before he fell from the chair.
***
Eli cried out in surprise as Geoff fell to the floor. He yelled out for help, and it wasn't long before Layne, Tony, and Cesar--carrying the asked-for water and towel--came running. Layne knelt down next to Geoff. "What happened?!"
"He said he felt hot, then passed out." Eli looked at Cesar. "Give me those. And get more water." He wet the towel down and wiped Geoff's reddening skin down with it as Cesar ran out of the room again. "I think his temperature's still rising."
"How?" Tony asked.
"I don't know, but look at him!" Eli snapped. "Don't you have a thermometer here?"
"No."
Eli's response was cut off when Geoff's back arched. Layne rolled Geoff over onto his side, and Eli saw his mouth drop. "Uh...guys..."
Tony's eyes widened in shock, and Eli came around to see what was going on. His own eyes widened as he saw the two dark red, growing spots on Geoff's back. The spots elongated, running parallel on either side of Geoff's spine, and then began to push outward.
Layne quickly scooted out of the way and Tony and Eli stepped back. Cesar gasped as he came into the room and saw what was happening. "What the hell is that?"
"You think we know?" Layne asked, his eyes fixed on Geoff's back. There was a horrible tearing sound and a spray of blood as something large and black came out of Geoff's skin--
Wings, Eli realized. A pair of black, bat-like wings with black claws on the tips and bend, over six feet long each by Eli's estimate. The silence hung thick in the air as the four men looked at Geoff and each other, none of them knowing what was going on or what to do. Geoff's body slowly lost its red tinge as it cooled back down to normal, and the blood stopped flowing from where the wings sprouted, but still none of them said a word.
Cesar was the first to speak. "That's the coolest thing I've ever seen!"
Eli groaned. "Yeah. But wait until Kathy finds out."

A VoicePlay fanart.
In the middle is Rachel Potter. One side of her outfit is like her Ariel costume, and the other side like from Phantom of the Opera. Her mouth is open as she sings.
On the left is Geoff Ursula, who grins wickedly as he holds his hand out toward Rachel.
On the right is Phantom Tony, who bares his teeth as he clutches his fist near Rachel's throat.
Above them all is one dark, dripping word, said by the two villains:
SING.
[Yes, it's because Rachel literally got her voice stolen in two separate VoicePlay videos, and WHY NOT]

(Also I can see why people keep leaving comments saying how Geoff looks like Matt Mercer...)
i was listening to this vocal group thinking that one of the members looks like mercer when i was reminded of this post

Wizard: Matt Mercer of Critical Role
Tumblr media
Fighter: Eliot from Leverage
Tumblr media
Bard: Geoff Castellucci of VoicePlay
Tumblr media

"You've heard of Pentatonix? Well, think Pentatonix, just... sillier. That's about how we do things." ~ Geoff Castellucci of VoicePlay
VoicePlay is an acapella group, consisting of (sometimes) five guys, who are all insanely talented singers and musicians, all very fun loving and silly folks, and all great friends. They tell stories in their music and videos like no other group I've ever seen. And I am very glad to have found my way into the VoicePlay fandom, because I would not have missed it for the world.
That's why I started this blog. Now, I've seen a good bit of VoicePlay fanart here on Tumblr, particularly by @leokiings, but it's hard to keep track of it all, especially the ones not by that Tumblr. You know how nutty the search function is around here.
So what I'm going to do here is reblog every piece of VoicePlay fanart I find, and tag it - if it's from a specific video, if it's just of the guys, who it's of, whatever. So now we on here can have all the VoicePlay fanart in one place!
Now, obviously, I'm not taking credit for any of it unless it's mine, at which point I'd let you know (it probably won't be that good if I do, though).
Welcome to the blog, and if this is your first time hearing about them, let this be your welcome to the VoicePlay fandom!

I don't know how many Voiceplay fans are active on Tumblr these days, but I have fanart and nowhere else to share it (don't have Twitter/X and I'm not in the VP Patreon server), so here we are!
This fanart is of course of "Baron", i.e. Geoff, from the Queen In 5 Minutes medley, and though I'm still not 100% satisfied with the face, it was the best I could do, and I'm fairly pleased with how the rest of it turned out!

VoicePlay recently covered Hellfire from the Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Geoff's lead performance really caught me! I tried to work in the nuances I saw from him, as well as amplify the mood a bit [original vid]

That solo always amazes me, no matter how many times I hear it, ESPECIALLY those high notes, my word.

geoff’s ‘we are the champions’ solo is so good and i absolutely love his passion and rawness in the high notes (something he usually doesn’t do)

New Geoff fanart! This one of course from Way Down (actually technically from the BTS, but from a clip of the proper video itself being filmed so ehhh).
I was like "I love this video so much, why has it taken me this long to decide to draw something for it?" and then I remembered, oh yeah, the freaking palm tree shirt!!!
Doing the shirt pattern kind of killed me a little bit, but I think it turned out mostly decently, and I hope you all like it too!

(Man I hope Tumblr isn't compressing the quality of this too much) Time for another Geoff fanart! This one, obviously, is a sketch art I did of the thumbnail of Geoff's cover of Jack's Lament that he did for Halloween last year! This was actually the first Geoff art I did (ended up doing 5 total), as I was just so awestruck after watching the video that I was seized by an unbeatable urge to draw something for it. (And I enjoyed doing it so much that I wanted to do more, so I did).

I'm back with another Geoff fanart! This time using a reference image from his recent Wicked Game video, as I felt like it would lend itself well to a pencil sketch fanart.
On one hand, I believe doing art on a regular basis is good for my mental health and I want to keep doing it, but on the other hand, this drawing was quite often a pain in the backside! The face definitely got redrawn more than a couple times, let alone anything else.
But anyway, it didn't turn out too horribly, and I hope you like it! Who knows, I might even do fanart for Geoff's next video as well, we'll just have to see whether or not inspiration/motivation strikes!

This really is how it goes: you get pulled in for Geoff, but you stay for everybody.
I genuinely love watching VoicePlay reaction videos, even though the format is always the same:
Step 1: Smile and groove.
Step 2: Freak out over the bass. Yeah, it goes that low.
Step 3: Realise it’s coming from Geoff, double take (especially on the earlier videos) and then immediately fall a little bit in love, regardless of your previous sexuality.
Step 4: Rein yourself in a bit and then loose it all again going gooey over Eli, J-None, Earl and Tony’s harmonies and high notes.
Step 5: Having forgotten all the beat and percussion is actually coming from a human, not a drumkit/sound studio, suddenly realise. Have a meltdown about Layne.
Step 6: Gape in shock as song ends. Immediately go check out all their other videos.

Last Geoff fanart for the time being! For those not immediately aware, this drawing is of Geoff dressed as Bowser (aka "Bowserlucci") from Voiceplay's Mini cover of Peaches from The Super Mario Bros Movie. I haven't seen the movie, but I listened to the original song, and though it's kinda comical, I can't see how it got nominated for awards. Voiceplay's cover though, of course, knocked it out of the park, and one of these days Geoff may actually kill me.
So I really wanted to draw his outfit from the video (what a Look honestly (and it's a bit more colourful than what he usually wears!)), but unlike the other fanarts where I copied a screencap directly from the video, I got a little more creative and used a screencap from a different Voiceplay video for the pose/proportions (can you guess which?), and added the outfit on top, so to speak. The yellow pants btw are a fanon choice by me, as is the spiked bracelet (it matches the very-real spiked collar after all), and this was all coloured in using crayons!
