oh man, that's tricky! i think either the slimecicle cinematic universe or empires smp, especially now that i have a barebones conlang for the ancient capital!

24: what work would you like to talk more about?

okay i have two. buckle up, buttercups.

he wanted to say means so much to me bc not only is that song from a musical that is very near and dear to me, but i feel like the lyrics i chose for each pairing really fit their dynamics, or what their dynamics have the potential to be. also, the line "if there's such a thing as justice, let me help you find your justice" fucks. no questions asked

and play the game. my pride and joy that i feel like i've completely ruined and i have no idea what to do with. it's based on the music video for queen in five minutes by voiceplay, and it was written before secret life, so the four winners (grian, scott, pearl, martyn) are death gods, and jimmy has to fight them to get back to the land of the living after a car crash. i feel like i've ruined it in so many ways; i don't know how to write the next chapter, i can't draw well enough to be comfortable sharing the incredible designs for the death gods, the pacing is weird, the plot is all over the place... part of me wants to delete it and rewrite it with scar in jimmy's place, part of me doesn't even want to rewrite and just delete it, and part of me is balls-deep in the sunk cost fallacy and i wanna force myself to finish it as is. if anyone has any solutions as to what i should do, please let me know.

Also, I wonder if Mayday by Home Free could be considered a prequel. It seems to be in a kind of warehouse, like the VoicePlay one, but it's not all broken down and dirty, and neither are they. My theory is that they found out about whatever huge event was coming, tried to warn people and stop it if they could. It didn't work, thus the other videos.

Might be a little far fetched, but it's the only one I could think of besides Survivor, which is clearly a different Acapocalypse. Then again I'm not quite a Home Fry yet, I'm not as familiar with their songs.

This is another of those pieces of art that just kind of blow me away. I love Guardian in the video, and this is just an amazing picture you've painted of him, @leokiings. So epic-looking, and one of my favourite bits of VoicePlay fanart. Well done.

Okay, but this is really good. Why can I not think how to explain why I like it? It's just... I don't know, building that tension that was already there, tilting it less toward "rivals" and more toward "straight out enemies". It gives me questions, I suppose.

Is Yama yelling at him, during Another One Bites The Dust, railing against what Baron has done (whatever that might be)? Or is he threatening him after some particularly cold and collected remark that edges him to the breaking point, don't push it or you'll get worse than pushing?

Is Baron's dark look a building anger, a sign that Yama's behavior is starting to get under even his skin? Or is he coolly waiting for him to finish, knowing in his mind that he'll stop once he's blown off enough steam, but trying to ignore the cold weight of the mace pressed to his throat?

I don't know, I guess this picture just sets my mind going.

Not that I approve of what the song was initially about, but this idea takes the song and gives it its own story, and I am all flipping for it.

Okay, so this is not technically fanart, but COME ON, this sounds amazing, guys! It's worth reblogging!

I love that Layne gets a spotlight on his percussion abilities, and he makes it to the end and escapes the villain, but why stop there? Why not have him sing too? We all love hearing his voice, so him getting a solo along with everything else would just be the icing on the cake.

And yeah, at this point, we don't have J, so we'd either have to wait a long time, or rework it. Maybe he gets snatched from behind (or someone who looks like him), and that alerts the others that the villain is upon them, and they run.

(But at the same time, this feels like the kind of thing that would just fit him and his voice and his boundless energy really well - plus, if it came down to that, maybe he and Layne would be the two fastest, but Layne just outruns him or something...)

Well, whether we get it or not, this is a freaking EPIC idea, and if it didn't become a video, I'd be ready and eager to read a fic (do voiceplay fics exist?)

wait wait wait actually this is the next installment of the VPCU (VoicePlay Cinematic Universe), I’ve decided.

It’s a follow-up from Billie and Panic!; at the beginning, we see an ambulance rushing off, which we can infer is carrying Earl away for Queen (and also is an easy way to explain his absence). From then, it’s “Run, Boy, Run,” as the remaining four run away from whoever kidnapped them in the first place.

(Bonus points if Layne is the only one to last to the end, bc the poor guy always seems to get the rough end of the deal in these videos lol)
