you ever think about shiny duo too much and realize how Gem was actually quite hostile to Pearl i feel like a lot of people make out Gem to be the victim, how Pearl was hostile to her. honestly, i love gem so much, she is one of my favorite creators, but she was acting pretty hostile to Pearl in Secret Life. Her task was to attack Pearl until she put her shield up Gem could have attacked pearl once, seen she didn't use her shield, adn try again, peprhaps try with a different weapon but no, Gem chased Pearl until she used her shield, she kept chasing and attacking Pearl until she died. She kept antagonizing Pearl. Which I think is partially why Pearl decided to side with Scar and 2v1 Gem in the finale, because in Pearl's eyes, Scar never tried to outright chase her down adn kill her like Gem did. And in Wild Life, Pearl might have thought Gem was antagonizing her even more by taking so long to forgive Pearl, as if Pearl as the problem for killing Gem. idk, this might just be me overthinking everything. This whole dilema could've easily been solved if Pearl activated her singular brain cell and put up her shield lol.

Pearl is too tall for Gem to just come up to her and kiss her. Gem finds this to be a huge problem. She's asked a few hermits about how she should fix this, her favorite answers as of now are:

Tell her she found something shiny on the ground to get her to bend down

Pull her down by the strap of her mail bag

Kick her in the shins

She's told Pearl about her little survey, much to Pearls horror at the suggestions.

"Just ask me to bend down, you don't have to KICK me!"

That could work...nah, Gem would rather find other ways. Maybe Cleo has a good idea...

Gem's even started taking a tally when the same idea comes up multiple times! Maybe she'll put together a poll, get a proper survey of options...

Pearl is just glad Gem is having fun. She thinks? Should she be concerned?

I dont think this is the right place to put this (feel free to ignore if it isn’t) but I can’t find the confessions blog so hi. So for all of the 5 or 6 years I’ve been in the Hermitcraft fandom, I’ve never been big on shipping at all really. But recently I have been slowly dragged into the scarian, ethubs, gempearl, and the like. Idk. Idk. It’s making me a bit insane. Like do I ship them? Or do I just need sleep? I feel like I’m questioning my identity just cuz I had a thought to draw some cubitos kissing. Idk hehehehehe

But I think it’s for you to figure out if you ship them. You can look at fanfics and art and animatics or even this account to see if you like them or if you just like some of their concepts! Plus the ships you named are very popular and loved so you can even talk to other people who ship them :)

Ships tend to make people “insane” since people like them a lot so that’s normal to lol

Hi! I know you may not know this but Pearl has asked people to not maintag shipping content with her! That means tagging it as "pearlescentmoon".

I'm going to start this off by saying that i Love and Appreciate everything Pearl does as a content creator for us. i think she's incredible and one of my favorite hermits. But i think creators have gotten Far too comfortable in fan spaces.

at its core, fan spaces are meant to be just that- fan spaces. spaces for us as fans to come together and discuss and share creations about this thing we really like. and its cool to give or send the ccs those creations sometimes. but this isn't a space for them. tumblr isn't for ccs. its for us. and you wanna know the one tenant that all fan spaces operate under? Don't Like, Don't Read.

i greatly respect all of the work our ccs do to bring us such incredible content- but they don't get to enter our spaces and demand that we cater to them and what they want to see. pearl is capable of blocking the gempearl or hermitshipping or trafficshipping tags just like anyone else who doesn't want to see shipping content. the fact that it clogs her feed anyway is something she has to deal with just like anyone else who exists on this website. she isn't special.

the pearlescentmoon tag exists for fans to find community around Pearl. not to be her personal feed of completely wholesome offerings. no one is forcing her to be here, no one is sending her shipping content (at least i sure hope no one is, that is where i draw the line, don't specifically send creators shit that'll make them uncomfortable) she can't demand everyone hide their shipping content when she wasn't supposed to be here in the first place.
