to anyone who binds/ wants to bind:
my biggest tip for you is to find a sports bra (or more than one could be good tbh) that you are fairly comfortable wearing. bc if youā€™re constantly using a binder, even if you take binder break days (which are CRUCIAL!!!) you can still get back pain from wearing binders often:( so having a sports bra that you like and wearing that as much as possible and saving the actual binder/s for ā€œspecial occasionsā€/suuuper dysphoric days is something i highly recommend!!!
i used to bind most days of the week with actual binders, and even tho they were good quality (and right size!) itā€™s gotten to the point where i have back pain most days & iā€™m wearing a sports bra most days!!
also please please PLEASE do not wear your binder for longer than you should (6/8 hours, absolutely max 12, it varies from person to person-if it hurts, TAKE IT OFF) and remember to stretch!!!
big hugs,
your friendly neighborhood transmasc (who has back painšŸ˜”)

to tumblrā€™s trans people: Iā€™m getting my first binder soon but I donā€™t know what brand to use. Which is your favorite? (Iā€™m looking for something with a lot of compression)
If youā€™re cis and this shows up on your blog, PLEASE REBLOG FOR A BIGGER SAMPLE SIZE!
edit: I canā€™t change the poll, but after some research, it seems that gc2bā€™s binders are incredibly unsafe. Just want to put this here in case another trans guy is looking at this poll. Underworks seems to be the best option as far as Iā€™ve seen from other people.

Question for my Trans Community
I need a new binder!
I only have one that works well now, the rest i quickly grew out of, and I forgot what brand the good one is because the tag is very worn out and unreadable
So I need updated suggestions!
What binders from what brands are your favorite, what one's do you hate, what used to be good but changed how they do things so you dont buy it anymore kind of stuff!?
Any help is welcomed!

This probably isn't the right place to ask, but is it still worth getting a binder from gc2b? i've seen some old posts from 2021- early 2023 talking about how bad their binders have become, but it's been a awhile and I haven't seen anyone complaining recently. It's not like gc2b is my only option but I really like their designs lmao
i havent had a new gc2b binder, but theyā€™ve received so much criticism that i would stay away from them. brands like spectrum and wonababi have similar designs and a better reputation! apparently gc2b released a new improved collection, so that might be a better option if you really want to buy from them, but i would be careful (binding for more like 4-6 hours instead of 8-10).
sorry this is so late!!

My roommate asked me to post this: If you're in the UK (or other European countries?) GC2B (a store that sells binders and binding accessories for trans people) is closing.
This means both it will soon be harder to get binders sent to you (I'm guessing there are limited options) but also that they're having a really big clearance sale right now. So if you're in the UK and you want binders, check them out while they got stuff.

As someone who is trans, I know how annoying it is to hear "don't overbind you'll hurt your ribs!1!1" but PLEASE be careful.
I bind with a tank binder a size too large regularly, and still the past several months I've been dealing with horrible back/side/hip pain, and after two relocations of my 5th, 7th, and 8th ribs, have now been diagnosed with slipping rib syndrome. Weeks before top surgery. I know not binding is hell on its own, but please take care of your body.

Wivov binder review
Tumblr media
I just bought my first binder recently from wivov. I heard gc2b has gone down hill recently (for reasons I couldn't especially ascertain) and was looking for a different brand to buy from. i did a bunch of research but couldn't find any common consensus. I liked the looks of Wivov as a brand, but as it's new, a lot of people didn't know anything about the brand or the quality and were slightly suspicious. I took a gamble and I'm very happy I did!
I bought the black CORE racer back half binder in size small (I'm 30 inches around the ribcage and maybe 33 around the tits for reference). I haven't ever had a binder before, so unfortunately I don't have anything to compare it to but overall, I'm very pleased. the fabric is very smooth, even the inside canvass part against your skin. I have some sensory issues but nothing major and it's perfectly comfortable for me. even as a racer back, the straps hide fairly well under some of my T-shirts and would probably be entirely hidden if I didn't wear tshirts two sizes too big for me.
the quality seems great and I'm hopeful it will last me for quite a while. it's easy on and off and hasn't stretched for me so far and I've had it for a couple months and have been wearing it as often as is safe.
Tumblr media
the compression is everything I was looking for and gets me virtually flat, but I'm also pretty small so I can't say how it would work for larger chested people.
my only complaint is that there could be another 1 cm of fabric on the edges near my armpits as there's a bit of bulging there and not a lot of fabric. but even that I don't really care about because it isn't visible under a shirt and the lack of fabric leaves ample space for me to wear tank tops and not have the binder peak out under the armpits
the shipping was on time and discrete. I will say, if you have someone opening your packages at your house (a parent, etc) that you don't want to know about it, be careful. it came in a regular black garment bag in the mail but inside the bag, it was packaged in one of the brown paper/cardboard letter folders with fun trans characature drawings on it. so just keep in mind! you could not tell at all the way it came in the mail, it's just once you open the bag.
over all, I'm so happy with this purchase. I feel so comfortable in my skin. if you're looking for an affordable, good quality option and don't want to order from gc2b, I'm very happy with Wivov
