I have two modes when it comes to Monika:

1) recognizing the nuances of her character triggered by the realization that even her friends in the debate club last year were never real and had no faces in the files (just mentioned for a one-line backstory), her friends in the literature club are flat portraits, and all of her ambitions, passions, and work for going to college, finding hobbies, and getting a job she'll like were all for nothing

2) whatever this is
