I am writing this post with tears in my eyes, me and my mother.

We are living the most difficult suffering here in northern Gaza.

I will tell you some of our suffering

1.We do not find daily food as there is only bread due to the closure of the crossings in Gaza

2.There are some canned foods like beans that are expensive due to scarcity.

3.They are trying to displace us from Gaza every day. I have left my house several times and it is badly damaged.

4.My father cannot reach us, he is besieged in southern Gaza, and my sisters and I have no one to support us except my mother, and she cannot.

5.My father is sitting in a torn tent, suffering from the cold of winter and the lack of winter clothes.

6.We need more than $100 a day to buy a little food. And a little firewood for heating and cooking. And charging the lighting battery as there has been no electricity for more than a year

7. My mother needs treatment for her feet on a weekly basis for $70.

She has osteoporosis, cartilage fragility and salt deposition.

This is a small part of our suffering. Please plant hope in our hearts and give us a chance by donating to us to alleviate our suffering.

Help me and my family escape this raging war in order to survive.

I have been married to Amal Mahmoud for thirteen years, and we have four children: Sami, Mohammad, Sarah, and Saad. We are from Palestine, specifically the Gaza Strip, which has been under siege for over eighteen years.

Now, we no longer have a home, and my family lives in a refugee school in the Al-Zaytoun area of northern Gaza, while I live in a tent in Deir al-Balah. I haven't seen my children or my wife for over eight months.

My children and wife are suffering from continuous bombing, lack of resources to live in peace, and a shortage of food and water. Here, I am enduring severe psychological and physical pressures due to my inability to be with them and meet their needs.

I ask anyone who reads my story to look upon us with compassion and help me raise even a small amount of money so that we can leave this country and find a safe place to live. We seek a country that offers us safety and a decent life, far from wars, genocide, and lack of security. We need shelter, food, water, education, and healthcare for me and my family.

I was sitting with my 4-year-old son, Saad, in a displacement school in Deir al-Balah when the school was targeted by four rockets. I was injured in my leg, while my son suffered injuries all over his body and, unfortunately, lost his sight later. During the attack, I lost my mobile phone and all the data on it. Naji al-Ali: The Artist Who Resisted with His Pen and Was Assassinated for His Stance

Naji al-Ali, the renowned Palestinian cartoonist, was one of the most prominent symbols of resistance art, using his drawings as a weapon to express the suffering of his people and to oppose occupation and corruption. Through his iconic character “Handala,” Naji embodied the voice of the oppressed and the pain of Palestinians, making him a memorable figure in Arab and global consciousness.

Born in 1938 in the village of al-Shajara, Palestine, Naji experienced the Nakba in 1948, when he was uprooted from his homeland—a trauma that profoundly influenced his work. Handala, introduced in 1969, depicted a 10-year-old boy with his back turned to the world and hands clasped, symbolizing silent resistance until justice was achieved and Palestine liberated. Naji himself stated that Handala would remain a child until Palestinians returned to their homeland.

On July 22, 1987, Naji al-Ali was assassinated in London outside the offices of Al-Qabas International newspaper. He was shot in the head, falling into a coma that lasted until his death on August 29 of the same year. Investigations suggested that his assassination was linked to his bold political positions, which not only criticized the Israeli occupation but also targeted Arab regimes he believed to be complicit or negligent in supporting the Palestinian cause.

Although the identity of the assassin remains unknown, suspicions have been directed at multiple entities, including the Israeli Mossad and certain Arab intelligence services. Despite his untimely death, Naji’s art remains an enduring legacy, a powerful cry against injustice and oppression.

Naji al-Ali’s voice lives on, for Handala still stands tall, watching the world with unyielding determination, bearing witness to the resilience of a people who refuse to forget.
