☕️ opinion on how best to prepare hit dogs?

Depends on what kind of hit you're going for, really. Drug operation? Give the dog some bacon so it'll know to look out for cops. Or actually that's pretty much for every hit operation, I guess.

Alternatively, if you're doing a bank heist, get the cutest dog imaginable to distract everyone in the bank and then clean out the coffers. They'll never know what hit 'em.

((What's something about Astra you've gotten more comfortable with as you've been writing her? We're there active steps you had to take to achieve that comfortability?))

Astra's personality--in particular, her showing her softer side. She's a certified badass, yes, but those quiet, soft moments are what I live for from her. Her story is one of a genius, someone who was put on a pedestal, looked up to, regarded as someone worth respecting by others--

and then by contrast, learning to love herself and accept the things that happened to her wasn't her fault. that she's worthy of love and care regardless of how she was treated by her mother. (that thought breaks her when she first realizes it)

her story is one of learning how to look at ones self as someone rather than a figure or façade. Her story is one of learning how to live truthfully to yourself, regardless of how others think or perceive you.

And that's really relatable.

It took me a while to find her reasoning and voice, but once I did it just seemed to click. All Astra desperately wanted is acceptance and to be cared for regardless of anything else (which is something everyone wants and needs)

And that makes it comfortable to step into. Astra's not cold or cruel, even if she puts on a façade and tries to pretend to be everything everyone else needs, but when it comes down to herself, she's sensitive and caring and just wants love. She wants that acknowledgement, reciprocation. Just like everyone else.
