Fanfiction Plans for 2020

Dinosaur Bones (Undertale): A mumblecore fic about a codependent friendship Alphys and Sans started a few years before the events of the game. Deals with slight themes of depression and anxiety.

FLCL Progressive Episode 1 Rewritten (Fooly Cooly): A revision/reimagining of the garbage fire that was FLCL Progressive with a more gruesome edge. Will probably be tagged as slightly graphic as it deals with themes of female puberty and sexuality.

Untitled Platonic GamRose Story (Homestuck): Just what the title insists. An alternative session in which disheveled teen, Rose Lalonde, masquerading as a distinguished online personality on Pesterchum, forms an unlikely alliance with Gamzee Makara. Deals with themes of parental neglect and abandonment, and substance abuse.

The Loft (Darkstalkers): After leaving the circus, runaway Christian catgirl Felicia stays with famous (secret occultist) musician Zabel Zarock, or better known by his stage name: Lord Raptor.

How much do i like them?: 100/10 GOOD CLOUN BEST BOY

What is their most noticeable feature?: His hair. It’s like a foot and a half tall and is the main reason why he looks so tall (that and his horns,, the things are like a foot tall).

What is a crossover I’d like to see them feature in?: Honestly I’m digging gemverse Gamzee so SU crossed with Homestuck.

If i could pick one piece of official merchandise/content to be released featuring them, what would it be and why?: an official clown lot. Everything you need to be a clown except it’s all purple and black and comes with sopor slime, two juggling clubs, a pair of Gamzee horns and a large tarp with a “:o)” on it.

Do i ship them? And if so, with who?: red with Tavros, pale with Karkat, black with Equius, and Ashen with Rose (I am also not against pale Gamrose; somehow that ship snuck up on me and I love it)

Do i find them attractive? If so, how attractive?: He’s pretty cute, and has a great personality! A solid 8/10.

What’s my biggest headcanon for them?: Purplebloods have underdeveloped fins and gills (because they lean super close to seadweller). Some can have working gills, but Gamzee does not.

What is my interpretation of their: favorite color, reaction to a difficult video game, favorite animal, bedroom and Deviantart Username?: He likes the rainbow (all colours); he’d stay calm the first few times he failed, but after a while he’d get inwardly frustrated and step away from it, loosing interest in playing it at all; geese (need I say more); messy, so messy. Pockets of semi cleanliness but covered in slime and faygo spills; I don’t think he’d have one, but if he did it would probably be MiRaClEcLoWn10 or something.

What do you think of RoseGamzee?

THAT IS SOME GOOD SHIT HELL YEAH GOOD SHIT RIGHT THERE!!!!

Like… okay, so, assuming this is Not Possessed!Gamzee, because I don’t really touch Possessed!Gamzee with a ten foot pole (at that point you’re really interacting more with Caliborn/Lord English than Gamzee, anyway), I think they’d be SO GOOD for each other!

Like, okay, you’ve got two kids who, in one way or another, feel very very abandoned by their guardian. Rose’s mom was always sauced and couldn’t be emotionally present for Rose, causing her to have a very embittered, disillusioned outlook on the world and life and relationships in general (which Kanaya helped change but that’s someone else’s post), while at the same time Rose was a CHILD who WANTED a relationship with her mom, which was very much a big role in Rose’s addiction to alcohol that sprung up in canon. Rose also felt that she was more an equal to her mom- she, a child, felt that she was as much a caretaker to her mom as her mom was to her. Gamzee’s lusus was quite literally never around, only showing up sporadically to do… something. And sure, Gamzee’s hive wasn’t attacked by sea dwellers or anything but that doesn’t mean the thing was in any way actually taking care of Gamzee. His lusus’s absence was the foundation Gamzee’s own addiction to space-weed came from, which he became dependent on in many ways because he didn’t WANT to become bitter and disillusioned with life. He LOVED being able to see the world as a place of miracles and friendship, but that’s… that’s really hard for a kid whose dad is never around, whose friends aren’t exactly the nicest to him bc he’s weird and socialized improperly. Gamzee, also, is a troll, who are kinda expected to have more of a mutual caretaking role with their lusii anyway, I think the term “zookeeper” got used in canon. So trolls in general are sorta fucked up on that end.

So Rose and Gamzee are massive messes right from the starting gate. And I think I could see this going one of two ways, tbeh. They could enable each other’s bad habits, but I don’t think they’d want to. The thing about Rose is that a lot of her really, truly, desperately WANTS to see the light in life, the good the world has to offer, her life up to that point has just trained her that that’s silly, and for children, and the world is large and terrifying and mindlessly cruel. And Gamzee, like I’ve said, is also DESPERATE to see life as a good place. So maybe they’d get off on rocky footing, but Rose’s snarky horseshit would meet an impenetrable wall of “literally is bothered by fucking nothing” because whatever snark Rose has, it cannot possibly be worse than Equius’s laughably terrible attempts at pitchflirting or Terezi’s seemingly regular insults of how weird Gamzee is. And Gamzee is just. A friendly stoner. It’s hard not to like him. So the other way I could see their relationship going is the two of them realizing they have mutual ground on account of their shitty ass custodians, and how they’ve become somewhat dependent on outside substances for their happiness, and see something in each other that they want to HELP. It’s easy to ignore things that are wrong when it’s just yourself. “I’m fine” is a real fuckin’ easy thing to say. But while Gamzee wouldn’t lift a finger to help his own soddy ass, he absolutely would not just sit idly while this beautiful light within his life remains sad and hard and certain the world will not be kind to her. And Rose can layer her own trauma under as many layers of psychological defense mechanisms as she wants, but to see Gamzee, who is still so soft and who still believes that there is good, struggling so hard with his own problems and the unfair weight life has placed on his shoulders, it’d compel her to help.

And they are children so yeah, it might not all go easy and sweet, things would get ugly sometimes because wounds are ugly, bleeding things, but they’d help each other, and they’d be willing to accept help and advice and companionship from each other. Rose grew up in the middle of fuckin’ nowhere with just her drunken mom and the internet for company, Gamzee was on a lonely beach with a missing lusus and the internet for his. They could just. Sit together. Talk about their interests in as long-winded, rambling, purple-prosed ways as they want and Gamzee would think Rose is so smart and Rose would think Gamzee has a wild creativity and they’d make each other happy in the better moments and they could soften the things that hurt during the worse times. They’d come from a place of mutual understanding, too, no need to try and convince each other of anything, that it really did suck as bad as they’re finally allowing themselves to feel. They get it. They’re on the same page.

Okay look I have a LOT OF FEELINGS about Gamzee and Rose okay I genuinely think they’d just… really click well together.
