Naps | Simon Ghost Riley Imagines
You and Simon are practically best friends. You work together, you play around and joke with each other, You nap together, he always has your back and you always have his. You do stand up for him, when the other recruits are talking about how scary and how much of a hard ass he really is.
You guys are pretty close, you've opened up to simon and he opened up to you recently. You stayed by his side all night, eventually falling asleep beside him as he held you in his arms. Seeing the way you two act, everyone thinks you're dating. Even though, you aren't. Don't get me wrong, Simon is a great man and he takes care of you well. You're just not sure if he feels the same way back. Little do you know that he does, he does like you. He gets angry every time a recruit talks about you in a suggestive manner, yelling at them. Every time, some officer decides to pick on youā€”he stands up for you, even if you didn't need him too.
This particular day you were in his room, playing video games on the console. You were looking for him, wanting to spend time with him. You were looking for someone to talk to, having a rough day today. Instead, you confided in some modern warfare, call of duty. You were an ace when it came to the game, although Simon was a bit better than you. You could still face off though, like you usually did with him on the mobile game. Playing a free for all match against him, with you and him killing each other back and forth, sometimes you get away with killing him more.
You looked at your phone, looking at the time as you looked at the door. He should he arriving from his mission in the next hour or so. You sat, leaning against the frame as you focused on your game. As you tossed and turned finding a right position, you started to feel sleepy. You decided to nap, maybe you'll awake before he comes.
Which turns out to be the opposite. Your breath was soft and deep as you hugged yourself, sleeping soundly. The door opened as he entered the room, immediately taking notice of you on his bed. He dropped his stuff, walking towards you as he loomed over, looking down at you. He admired your sleeping face, his hand came down cupping your cheek as he swiped his thumb over it, affectionately. He pulled away, shutting off the tv as he walked into the bathroom.
45 minutes later, he walked out of the restroom, hair damp hidden underneath his mask. He wore a black sweatshirt, using his hands to push the sleeves up and some sweats. His head turned towards you again, sleeping soundly. He stalked towards you, walking towards the other side as he gets onto the bed. You didn't move, knee sinking into the mattress as he positioned himself beside you. He wrapped his arms around you, pulling you closer to his chest. He snuggled his face into the crook of your neck, taking in your scent that drives him absolutely crazy. He pulled you even close towards him, if possible; your back pressed against his chest. He let out a sigh, letting himself relax beside you. He let out shallow breaths before his eyes, his fluttered shut, head leaning slightly towards yours. You moved around slightly, leaning even more against his chest. His eyes fluttered open, looking down at you for a brief second before closing his eyes, wrapping his arm around your waist.

modern au outsiders favorite video games
pony loves story games like life is strange, detroit become human, little nightmares, etc. but he also is obsessed with shitty ass mobile games and shitty roblox games so he can torment little kids playing them.
soda loves stuff like untitled goose game, human fall flat, gang beasts, mariokart. and heā€™s Good at them he beats everyoneā€™s ass. also he plays goat simulator 3 so much darry is concerned for him. he and steve or dally play it Non Stop
darry would play tetris around the clock. on the computer, on his phone, on a console, anywhere he can. as a kid he loved the old nintendo games and heā€™ll beat ur ass at super smash bros
johnny is a nintendo fan for life. heā€™s got an old 3ds, an old game boy, a switch lite, and heā€™s always on the curtisā€™s wii. heā€™s a hardcore legend of zelda fan and knows All the lore. pony asks him stupid questions about it all the time just to make him annoyed
ace love love lovesss platform games. she also loves speedrunning platform games. watching her play celeste is Terrifying. itā€™s so crazy sheā€™s so cracked. also sonic games. sheā€™s also a fan of story games like pony, but she would rather die than 100% them like he does
steve plays games like heā€™s in the middle of a war. stuff like call of duty, fortnite, overwatch, anything where he rages at other people over a really shitty mic. soda joins him but unlike steve, he cannot aim to save his life
dally plays on roblox and minecraft servers just scamming little kids and tormenting them. he finds the most creative ways to curse over the censored chat. u just Know he was an among us fiend. playing super smash bros or gang beasts (or god forbid overcooked) with him is a very hostile situation

OC Info Card: Soursy Tartsludge
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Soursy Tartsludge is a DLC character for the mobile/console release of Sugar Rush!! They're based on the Slime Licker candy.
SO MANY WORDS UNDER THE CUT YOU WERE WARNED
You know how Cookie Run: Kingdom has a different intro screen for every update? They did that with the Soursy Tartsludge update!!
(also guys the slime under their eyes IT'S GLASSES PLEASE GUYS)
Tumblr media
They're also a glitch. Since the mobile release of Sugar Rush has voice chat (but has penalties for cussing), they hacked the filters to cuss. Soursy has a foul mouth!
Eventually, someone plugged in their phone into Game Central Station on accident to charge it, and Soursy escaped the mobile game! They went on to venture into the Sugar Rush cabinet.
Soursy was made fun of by the other racers for being the only sour racer. (Which is kinda dumb, but the racers are all around ten years old. Little kids are brutal.) So when they went into the cabinet, they met Vanellope, and bonded over their bullying!
They're also the adopted sibling of Captain Alvarez (my brother's Hero's Duty self insert)!! Soursy came from the Internet, they've seen a lot of violence and witnessed Call of Duty matches. They got bored of the sweets and visited Hero's Duty every now and then to watch from behind a rock (LMAOO)
The first time they met, Soursy panicked and ran/glitched back into the game central station. The second time they met, Captain grabbed Soursy with the suit's massive hands, and they FREAKED out. They were FRANTICALLY glitching trying to get out of his grasp, until Captain clarified he wasn't going to hurt them. Then they calmed down. Eventually, they encountered each other again and started to bond.
Soursy sometimes sticks to his back, so they can watch everything going on without getting hurt!!! During an active match, they can yell at him "ON YOUR SIX" to let him know that there's a cybug approaching behind him! SIBLING TEAMWORK!! And then when the arcade closes they both go to Tapper's!
From that point on, Soursy never returned to the phone they came from. They're well aware that if they die, they're not coming back, and that makes their little life even more thrilling!
credits to @astronomicallycomical for both whiteboardfox images!!

in love with the thought of you and jordan playing video games with marie.
Tumblr media
like. i imagine in the group home the only way they got to play any games were physical ones and if they could sneak in a few minutes on cool math games during computer time. and as much as i think marie would kick ass at life and chutes and ladders, she'd constantly miss the game consoles she had at home.
so she meets you and jordan and college, and jordan takes gaming serious but not so seriously. they'll dick around in online games and scarily become a master manipulator when they can be convinced to play among us once in a blue moon, and once marie tells you she hasnt player a real video game since middle school you both make it your personal missions to help her play any game she wants.
and i feel like she would kick ass at nearly everything! and annoyed as she gets at randoms screaming in her ears she can enjoy a game of cs:go or call of duty, and had a week long obsession with slime rancher, constantly coming over to your dorm to play the game on your pc while you give her tips in the background.
yes her favorite is the honey slime. yes she made too many gordos and stopped playing for a month because the tar killed them all.
and dont even get me started on mobile games...jordan probably begs her no to play them because :
1. they're corny as hell
2. you play them religiously, and everytime a game says 'share to get an extra _' you send them the link. she goes through their messages and there are probably 200 shared links from you.
but its inevitable. once she gets a phone you send her a link for choices/episode and its all over. but once she has her first diamond choice where she has to tell her love interest (definitely modeled after you or jordan) she hates their guts she gets pissed off. if you give her money to buy some diamonds she'll be unstoppable.
but my favorite headcanon would be her playing games while high. just on weed, but it was when jordan told you they were going to try to teach marie how to play fortnite, and you had a really bad but really funny idea to do it while high.
it was supposed to be just you, but marie joined in which landed the two of you cackling after you both fell off a tower and died, jordan with their head in their hands as the 'you ranked #80!' lit up the screen.

A light in the darkness - Part 1
Summary:
[Alex Keller x OC] After his injury, Alex has to go into hiding because he has disobeyed CIA orders and is therefore considered a deserter. With Price's help, he ends up in Oxford and meets an old friend, Rachel, in his former university town. Will she be able to help him deal with his traumas, find his way back to life and will he be able to leave his military life behind in the end? A classic hurt/comfort story with fluffy moments and dark thoughts.
Tumblr media
Disclaimer
This is my first Call of Duty fanfiction. Since I've always thought that Alex is underrated, I decided to write a story with him as the protagonist. Before I get started, I'd like to mention a quick trigger warning. Most of the story is about trauma, PTSD, suicidal thoughts, illness and depression. If you're not comfortable with that, it's best not to read it, also if youre a minor.
Otherwise, I hope you enjoy reading it, I'm always happy to get feedback, especially at the beginning.
Rachel's mobile phone vibrated just as she walked in the door. She put her work bag down, exhausted after a long day at the research institute, and glanced at the display. It was a message from an unknown number. Rachel opened it and froze as she read the words:
ā€˜Hey, I'm back in town. If you want to see me - and believe me, I understand if you don't - I'll send you my address. Just get in touch, little one. Alex.ā€™
Alex. Alex. It took her brain a moment to process that message. She would have thought it was a joke if he hadn't written ā€˜little oneā€™.
Alex and Rachel knew each other from their time in London, when they had both been students. They lived in the same shared flat when he studied there for a year. Back then, they quickly became close friends - the same video games, the same music, hours of conversation in their favourite pub. Rachel had rarely formed such a deep connection with anyone else. If she hadn't been in a long term relationship back thenā€¦ Well, maybe this friendship would have ended differently. After the end of her relationship, she had often thought about Alex and tried to keep in touch after he enlisted. But at some point Rachel realised how different their lives had become and she left it at sporadic messages. The fact that he was here again was completely unexpected. Even more so that he wrote her. Her fingers trembled as she typed a short message back: ā€˜Where?ā€™ Within seconds, he replied with an address and they arranged to meet the next afternoon. The address was near the university, not far from her flat.
The next day, Rachel was at his door with a racing heart. When Alex opened the door on crutches, her breath caught in her throat. ā€˜You're really back,ā€™ she whispered, overwhelmed with relief, but also with a tinge of sadness as she looked at him more closely. It had been years since they had last seen each other. His hair was a little tousled as always, but his face looked older, more serious, marked by experiences that were certainly not positive. His blue eyes, which Rachel had missed so much, looked emptyā€¦ broken. Her gaze travelled down his still athletic figure and lingered on his left leg. Or rather, where it used to be. Alex laughed harshly, but his laugh sounded hollow, full of sadness. ā€˜Yes, reallyā€¦ Although it feels surreal.ā€™ He paused for a moment before smiling uncertainly. ā€˜I was hoping you'd come,ā€™ he said seriously. ā€˜Come on in, little one.ā€™ That word. Little one. He had always called Rachel that and although it had annoyed her sometimes in the past, she could never really be angry with him. She barely reached his shoulders and was eight years younger - the nickname just fit too well.
She took off her jacket and let her eyes wander round his flat. Despite everything, he had made an effort to keep it tidy, or at least tidy up for the visit. They sat down on the couch and Rachel felt her emotions threatening to overwhelm her. Relief at seeing him again, mixed with worry and sadness at what he must have been going through. ā€˜Iā€¦ don't know what to say,ā€™ she finally confessed. ā€˜How the hell did you end up back here?ā€™ He sighed heavily and ran a hand over his face. Alex took a moment to organise his thoughts. He had written to her in the hope of finding his way back to this normal life more easily and, if he was honest, because he felt lonely in England. That she still wanted to have something to do with him after all this time was a pleasant surprise and he knew he owed her an explanation, even if he still found it difficult to talk about it at all. ā€˜The short version isā€¦ I was on a mission. Everything went horribly wrong. My teamā€¦ my whole team was wiped out in an ambush.ā€™ He spoke quietly, almost tonelessly, but the words echoed in her head. ā€˜That was in October, three months ago. After that, I had an opportunity to do something right - something that would save a lot of peopleā€¦ but it went against CIA orders.ā€™
She looked at him and he saw the moment when she realised what he had done. She knew him so well. Rachel said it quietly. ā€˜You did it.ā€™ Alex nodded, his gaze distant. ā€˜Yes. I deserted. And nowā€¦ I'm wanted.ā€™ His voice sounded bitter. ā€˜Price - a friend - helped me go into hiding.ā€™
Rachel swallowed hard, overwhelmed by the information. But before she could say anything, he continued when Alex saw the look on her face. ā€˜I don't regret it. Itā€¦ was a success. But I paid a high price for it.ā€™ His eyes flickered, and he closed his lids briefly before continuing. ā€˜It was an explosion.ā€™ She could literally see him reliving the moment, that the injury had left more than just physical marks. The emptiness in his eyes spoke volumes. Rachel knew it wasn't just the loss of his leg - he blamed himself for the death of his team. ā€˜How are you feeling about it?ā€™ she asked tentatively, even though she already knew the honest answer. Alex shrugged, his gaze fixed on the floor. ā€˜It'sā€¦ healed well. They're working on a prosthetic. It should be ready next week.ā€™ ā€˜That's good,ā€™ she said, but his glum expression remained. ā€˜I'm sorry, Alex,ā€™ she added sadly. ā€˜Is there anything I-ā€™ He shook his head. ā€˜You're here. That's more than enough,ā€™ Alex murmured before he suddenly pulled her into a tight hug, as if he was afraid she would leave after the things he had just revealed. But she closed her eyes and buried her face against his shoulder, breathing in the familiar scent of him that brought back so many memories. The closeness was so familiar and yet strange. Alex felt his heart beating dangerously fast and pulled back. When he let go of Rachel, he backed away almost immediately, as if scolding himself for the spontaneous gesture. He scratched the back of his neck, embarrassed. ā€˜Sorry,ā€¦Iā€¦ā€™ but she shook her head 'It's all right, really' He looked at her a little ashamed, caught offguard by his own emotions. ā€˜Let's talk about something else. How are you?ā€™ She looked at him for a moment, a little taken aback, then thought about his question. ā€˜I'm now working at the university here in Oxford on a research projectā€¦London was nice, butā€¦.you know, not necessarily the best place for introverts like me. And after the relationship with Raphael fell apartā€¦there was nothing to keep me there. But you already know all thatā€¦ā€™ She said, as they had never completely broken off their sporadic contact, even if it had become very rare at some point. She shrugged her shoulders. ā€˜I've made a few friends hereā€¦and otherwise I've been concentrating on my career. Oh, but at least I took an art class the last few weeks.ā€™ Alex smiled weakly. ā€˜Still a workaholic. But I'm glad you're taking time for yourself.ā€™ ā€˜You know you can always ask me for help, right?ā€™ He hesitated. ā€˜Thanksā€¦ But I'm managingā€¦ sort of.ā€™ She watched as he shifted his weight and his face contorted in pain. ā€˜Are you having physiotherapy? Or some form of rehab?ā€™ He nodded. ā€˜Yes, next week I'll be fitted for the prosthetic and I'll learn to walk with it. It's a day clinic. Physiotherapy during the day, pain therapy, talksā€¦ I'll be here in the evening,ā€™ he said quietly. He was glad to see a little relief in her eyes, but he also sensed that she understood well. It reminded Rachel of her own story, of the long hospital stays, operations and moments when she thought her life was over. Although she had since made peace with her chronic illnesses, she still remembered the despair at the beginning. Alex had witnessed some of that back then, visiting her in hospital after operations or cooking for her when she was too weak to get up. ā€˜I understand how you feel,ā€™ Rachel said quietly, her words full of compassion. Alex's face relaxed slightly. ā€˜I know, princess. I haven't forgotten what you've been through.ā€™ His voice was sad, but also full of appreciation. ā€˜And I admire you all the more now that I know for myselfā€¦ā€™ He broke off, but he didn't have to finish the sentence. She understood.
He searched for another topic ā€˜Are you hungry?ā€™ he asked, trying to steer the conversation in a lighter direction. ā€˜My fridge is pretty empty, but we could order pizzaā€¦ like we used to.ā€™ She smiled with relief. ā€˜Yeahā€¦ I'd love to.ā€™
A short time later, they were sitting on the couch with pizza and a sitcom playing in the background. But it didn't feel like back then. The familiarity was still palpable, but at the same time there was something in the air - a distance that Rachel couldn't quite grasp. Alex seemed introverted, as if the conversation had stirred up his self-hatred, memories and emotions again. He tried to calm his racing thoughts, glanced at her from time to time as they talked about more trivial matters and felt an inner turmoil that was so complex and difficult to grasp that it overwhelmed him.
When Rachel said goodbye, Alex accompanied her to the door on crutches. He hated looking so helpless, so constrained ā€˜Thank you,ā€™ he said quietly. ā€˜It was good to see a familiar face.ā€™ He said honestly. She pulled on her jacket and looked up at him. ā€˜You're welcome. It was good to see you againā€¦ I've missed you.ā€™ The words slipped out before Rachel could hold them back, and she blushed. But it was the truth. Alex just smiled, finding the sight sweet. ā€˜Come here, princess.ā€™ His voice was warm, almost soothing. He pulled her into a long hug, and she snuggled against him. He wrapped an arm around her back and rested his chin on her head. In that moment, it was as if time stood still for a moment, as if they were just two people holding each other up as they tried to deal with the hardships in their lives. Alex still sensed the unspoken things between him and Rachel. Everything he wanted to tell her about how he really felt, what he experienced. But on the other hand, he didn't want to do that to her. It wasn't the right time. Rachel also sensed that he had distanced himself and was struggling with some things he wasn't ready to share.
ā€˜I'm glad you're back,ā€™ she finally said. ā€˜That you're alive.ā€™ Alex looked at her for a long time, as if searching for a hold in her words. But the darkness in his eyes remained. ā€˜Thank you,ā€™ he finally said, his voice barely more than a whisper.

I found out that my friend used to be addicted to call of duty mobile until she deleted it in an attempt to free her free time.
In an attempt to get her back on it (I enjoy sowing small chaos) I downloaded it and Iā€™ve been playing it in front of her. Asking her which loadout is best for which map. Letting her play on my phone.
Now Iā€™m addicted to call of duty mobile. Iā€™m going to spend longer and longer on this game every day until I delete it.
And so the cycle repeats.

My Sunday is ok. Just parenting and watching Corpse Husband play games from old streams. Missing my YouTube Premium, because my paycheck didn't show up last 2 Friday's ago (im pissed,) and playing Call of Duty Mobile when I get really tired so thar I don't fall asleep
Nooo not the late paycheck šŸ˜ that's the absolute worst. I had to go without YouTube premium for a couple weeks waiting for unemployment to get approved and I forget how awful it is trying to watch anything with ads. (I also never noticed how much YouTube I watch šŸ˜). I've never really played COD mobile either. I downloaded it at one point and tried to play for like five minutes and my phone got so hot it felt like it was going to explode so...I gave up lmaoo šŸ˜…

Discover the Features of the Spectrum Home Phone and Internet Bundle
Tumblr media
In todayā€™s connected world, itā€™s essential to have reliable home services that keep you in touch with what matters mostā€”whether itā€™s staying in contact with loved ones, working from home, or enjoying entertainment. The Spectrum Home Phone and Internet Bundle offers a convenient solution that combines both high-speed internet and a home phone service into one affordable package. In this blog, weā€™ll explore the key features of the Spectrum Home Phone and Internet Bundle and why it might be the right choice for your home.
What is the Spectrum Home Phone and Internet Bundle?
The Spectrum Home Phone and Internet Bundle combines two essential servicesā€”high-speed internet and home phoneā€”into one simple, cost-effective package. Instead of paying for each service separately, this bundle lets you save money while enjoying top-notch connectivity. Spectrum is known for its reliable and fast internet, and its home phone service ensures you stay in touch with family, friends, and work without the need for a mobile plan.
Key Features of the Spectrum Home Phone and Internet Bundle
High-Speed Internet One of the most significant advantages of the Spectrum Home Phone and Internet Bundle is the internet speed. Spectrum offers a variety of plans with speeds suitable for different needs, from basic browsing to heavy-duty streaming and gaming. Hereā€™s a breakdown of what you can expect:
Standard Speeds: Spectrumā€™s basic internet plan starts at speeds of around 200 Mbps. This is more than enough for typical households where internet use includes browsing, social media, and streaming in HD.
Faster Speeds for Larger Households: For larger homes or families with multiple users streaming and gaming, Spectrum offers plans with speeds ranging from 400 Mbps to 1 Gbps (1,000 Mbps). This means you can stream in 4K, handle multiple devices at once, and experience seamless browsing without slowdowns.
No Data Caps: Unlike some other providers, Spectrum doesnā€™t impose data limits, so you donā€™t have to worry about running out of data mid-month. Whether youā€™re streaming your favorite shows, downloading large files, or video conferencing for work, youā€™ll always have the bandwidth you need.
Reliable Home Phone Service The Spectrum Home Phone service provides clear, reliable calls, making it a great addition to your home bundle. Here are the features that come with it:

Summary:
In the realm of Limbo, where souls deemed too good for Hell but not virtuous enough for Heaven reside, Victoria finds herself thrust into an unprecedented mission. When a notorious sinner, Sir Pentious, achieves redemption and ascends to Heaven, it sends shockwaves through all realms. Tasked with unraveling this mystery, Victoria, a minor judge of souls, is sent to the infamous Hazbin Hotel in Hell. For the first time, an emissary from Limbo steps foot into the fiery depths, tasked with observing and judging the denizens of Hell for their potential for redemption. As Victoria navigates this unfamiliar territory, she captures the unrequired attention of the enigmatic Radio Demon, Alastor. Amidst the chaos of demonic antics and the pursuit of understanding redemption, Victoria must confront her own beliefs and judgments. As she delves deeper into the secrets of the Hazbin Hotel, Victoria uncovers hidden truths about sinners, redemption, and the ultimate fate of souls caught between damnation and salvation. With each soul she encounters, Victoria's journey becomes not only a quest for answers but a personal voyage of self-discovery in the heart of darkness.

Chapter 2: The Judge from The Limbo
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Charlie:Ā
"So, what do you think, Vaggie, don't you think it's an excellent idea for us to be closer together to form a stronger team bond and cooperation?," she asked with a lot of enthusiasm, almost jumping out of her office seat. However, her girlfriend didn't seem so thrilled with the idea.
"I don't know Charlie. I understand what you want to do but I think this is putting us all... too close together.Ā
"Why do you say that?," she replied without fully understanding what the problem was."
"It's twister Charlie. Twister. I'm not saying it's a bad idea, but maybe it's...too much."Ā
"I see," she replied, a little discouraged by Vaggie's opinion, but perhaps it was true. Sometimes she could push others too hard to achieve the breakthroughs she longed for, and that wasn't right. On the other hand, some might be uncomfortable with the physical contact involved in the game...and then there was Angel."Ā
"I know you can think of another way. You're the most creative person I've ever met. I know something will occur to-
"I KNOW! ," she interrupted "Oooh it'll be great!" Vaggie looked at her stunned at the sudden change in mood, but it wasn't long before she gave her a smile."
"What?"
"SPORTS! Nothing better for bonding than a team sport driven by rivalry and the need to beat the opposing team!"
"Actually... that's an excellent idea."Ā
-I KNOW! ," she exclaimed, raising her arms and prancing in place, "it could be football, volleyball or badminton...uh uh uh, catch the flag or tennis! And there should be prizes, or maybe a scoring system...- Her state of absolute excitement was interrupted by the sound of her mobile phone ringing. It was her father. She tried to take a deep breath to calm down a bit and have a proper conversation," HELLOO...ehem.. I mean, hello dad.Ā
Vaggie looked at her with a questioning look on her face, but Charlie just shrugged. She hadn't expected a call from her father. While their relationship was on much better terms, he was a rather busy man with the duties of a king, or so she wanted to believe. As always, they exchanged greetings and asked the usual trivial questions, but she could sense something in his tone of voice.
"Dad, what's wrong? I get the feeling something's bothering you. Is it about Mom? no? I see. Sit down? okay. Yes, I promise not to panic ," Charlie sat down on the chair from her office. Slowly, he began to tell her about the situation. Her heart raced and her eyes began to widen in surprise, excitement and concern. There was a hint of disbelief, but her father would never lie to her about something like this. She used all her self-control to keep her cool. Vaggie watched her with curiosity and some trepidation as her girlfriend could obviously sense her nervousness. Once her father had finished speaking, Charlie sighed ,"I see. That's the situation. Don't worry, Dad. I'll take care of it and make sure everything is in order," she finally cut the call and looked off into the distance, intertwining her fingers, remaining silent, sitting with her back completely straight as she forced a smile.
"So, what did your father want ," asked Vaggie. Charlie couldn't hold back any longer and jumped out of her seat and grabbed her girlfriend by the shoulders.
"THEREISAMINORJUDGECOMINGFROMLIMBOANDITHOUGHTITDIDN'TEXISTBUTITTURNSOUTITDOESANDTHEJUDGEWILLBESTAYINGATTHEHOTELSOITCANSTUDYSINNERSINSEARCHOFUNDERSTANDINGREDEMPTIONANDMYDADWEREATTHESUPREMEJUDGESWHICHIALSOTHOUGHTTHEYWEREJUSTAMYTHANDICAN'TMESSITUPBECAUSETHISISSUCHAGREATOPPORTUNITY."
"Wow, wow, Charlie, take it easy. Take a breath. I can't understand what you're saying to me ," Vaggie took her hand and looked at her with love and determination, "Whatever it is, I'm here for you. We'll work it out together. We'll get through this. Nothing can be that bad if we face it as a team."
Charlie looked at her partner in relief. Vaggie had a way of calming her down and making her feel safe, that she could accomplish anything she set her mind to. She smiled gratefully at her, "Thank you, I needed that, " she inhaled deeply and then let the air out slowly to let the tension go, "My father called to inform me that we will be receiving an unexpected and...somewhat important guest.
"An Overlord?"
She shook her head, "No... What would you think if I told you that the Limbo is real?"
"Uh, well, I'd be a little hesitant since no one's ever seen anyone from there, but if you were the one to tell me, I'd believe you."Ā
"Well. It's real Vaggie...and it's not just that. A being from there will come here to the hotel."
"What? Why?"
"Well, apparently for some reason the supreme judges want to better understand the phenomenon of redemption and have decided to send an emissary to study the sinners or something like that," Vaggie looked at her with completely wide eyes,"Ah yeah. The supreme judges are also real. And...the person who comes as an emissary...IS A MINOR JUDGE! Vaggie, I can't mess this up. Imagine if this judge comes back to the Supremes with a positive report on the chances of redemption...but It could also make a negative report. I don't even have any idea how it is going to do this job or how long it will stays. WE MUST WARN THE OTHERS TO BEHAVE," The panic was getting to her again. This whole thing was completely unexpected and alarming. It was a great opportunity to effectively bring about the change she so longed for, but it could also result in the utter doom of her dream."
"Charlie," Vaggie again took one of her hands and with the other, tenderly held her cheek, "Don't worry. I'll make them all act their best before this emissary, even if I have to tie them up. Even if I have to tie them up, but... I'm sure they'll understand the situation. We are here to support you. Besides, we still have time to prepare, don't we? When does this judge arrive?... What I still don't understand is... why are they interested in redemption now?"
"Today. Any minute now.Ā
"What? Uh, and your dad just told you?! I'd better lock those lunatics in the basement until we can talk to them about this.
"Vaggie!," Charlie exclaimed.
Ā "Uhg... Fine. I won't do it. Now that I think about it, I think today is the best day for the arrival of this emissary."
"Why do you say that?"Ā
"Well, Angel had to film all day today, " Charlie couldn't help but feel her heart shrink at the thought of Angel spending the whole day with Valentino. She didn't like that situation at all, but the last time she'd intervened, she'd only made things worse. She remained silent, letting Vaggie finish her explanation," Niffty, for her part, declared war on the insects in the attic, so I think she'll stay there all day. As long as we don't give her another extremely sharp dagger, I doubt we'll have any trouble. As for Husk, he's most likely drunk in the hotel bar. I can't deny that that place is quite cozy now that it's become this sort of lounge with the reconstruction of the hotel. As for Cherri, I doubt she'll be visiting if Angel isn't here.
"I see," she sighed, leaning on the desk, "So no one is at the hotel."Ā
"That's right. Everything will be alright. You needn't worry about a thing. We'll manage to impress this judge," Vaggie smiled warmly at her. Charlie began to relax and feel calm. A feeling of peace came over her chest as she looked into her partner's eyes, lovingly, grateful for her support. But...something in the back of her mind began to nag, a discomfort, as if she was forgetting a detail. Suddenly, the realization struck her like a bolt of lightning.
-WHERE IS ALASTOR?
Alastor
There was something in the mood that made him uneasy, as if something was missing, and it bothered him deeply. He pondered for a few moments until he finally understood. The hotel was quiet, too quiet. The silence was deafening. Usually he would find that pleasant, but he had grown accustomed to the incessant din that the residents of the place emitted. They were like white noise. Boredom was beginning to creep in, so he would soon have to figure out something to occupy his time. He now had fewer responsibilities or sources of amusement since the hotel had been so...flamboyantly rebuilt. And at that moment, he felt someone ringing the front doorbell. Wonderful! He wouldn't have to go far to find entertainment. He teleported into the hotel lobby and walked calmly to the door. He could see a figure through the stained glass. Curiously, his hand hesitated for a moment before grasping the knob. He opened the door revealing a somewhat unexpected sight.Ā
"Good afternoon" greeted a pleasant, polite female voice. It was a woman whose head reached no higher than his chest, but who, despite her short stature, stood gracefully and dignified. Her face had a calm expression and her deep amber eyes studied him closely. She wore a white blouse with a black collar and sleeves, as well as her palazzo style trousers at the waist. Her brown hair was tied back in a low ponytail. Her hands held a black leather briefcase. Alastor couldn't help but be intrigued as it was clear that this woman was not an angel, let alone a being from hell.
"Oh, good afternoon dear lady! Alastor is the name. You seem rather interesting, I must say. Could you tell me your name if it's not too much trouble," he replied with his usual charisma, looking into her eyes. He could see a certain sharpness in them. The woman arched an eyebrow, but remained calm.Ā
"I have a meeting with Miss Charlie. She must be waiting for me," she replied.Ā
"Oh, I see," he said, unable to contain a chuckle "you must be a lawyer or some sort of secretary, aren't you?," he asked as his smile grew. The woman's face subtly changed to a sterner one."
"With the greatest respect, that is none of your business, sir," she replied, still maintaining her dignified posture."
"I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable," the woman's evasive answers made his curiosity grow. He studied her again and noticed that she had a mallet-shaped ring on her index finger. She definitely had something to do with the law.-Perhaps you can tell me what your meeting is about. After all, a little small talk, a chat, never hurts and it's also the politically correct thing to do, isn't it?" he said, moving aside to allow her to enter the hotel. The woman crossed the threshold of the door into the hall without looking at him."
"A chat? Is that what you call trying to get information from me?,ā€ she said, looking sideways at him."
"I can tell you're an intelligent one," he decided to shake his hand in greeting "but to be honest...what harm can do a little information that I'll eventually know, like...your name, for example"the woman elegantly accepted his greeting, shaking his hand with a firm grip as well. She smiled slightly, but not in a friendly way."
"Oh, it is not the point whether or not it is harmful to give out the information you are requesting. I am simply choosing not to give you my name because I don't feel like it," she released his hand and in her eyes he could see a trace of defiance. This person's attitude irritated him a little, but it also intrigued him. Alastor could understand this woman's intentions. She was testing him, analyzing his responses and character in the face of his refusal to give something as simple as her name. A way of sizing each other up, testing the waters. He couldn't help but hold back a sly smile.
"You are stubborn, aren't you? However, you are right. You have every right to keep your name. But I may as well keep insisting. You'll see. I don't like to take no for an answer. This time I'll be nice, and I'll settle for you telling me what business you have with the esteemed princess from hell."
"Again, and I also keepĀ insisting, it's none of your business," she replied, still remaining calm and sounding strangely gentle. He could not deny that he felt increasingly irritated by this individual. This woman was only making his curiosity grow, but she was not giving him any answers. His smile was becoming more and more forced. The fact that this stubborn woman would not answer a demon's questions spoke volumes about her character. On the other hand, he couldn't deny that his boredom had completely disappeared. This woman was amusing but annoying.
"It is a delight to talk with you, I suppose I shall have to play the guessing game. But I would advise you to watch your imprudence. I may not be so...charming next time.Ā
"This is you being charming? I guess it's not your strong suit. Don't worry about it. I imagine you must have other talents," the woman replied with striking elegance and ease.Ā
Alastor could feel his smile tighten. His patience was being tested "I wonder where such boldness fits in someone as small as you," she returned his gaze, keeping her composure.
"How curious. I was wondering how tall people like you do it so that they don't get airs and graces on their heads?
Alastor looked at her this time without hiding the irritation he felt, leaning slightly towards her, trying to impose himself with the size difference. Perhaps it was time to simply put manners aside. The woman didn't look away for a moment. She seemed to have no intention of backing down. The atmosphere was tense and seemed to grow darker and darker. At that moment, he heard hurried footsteps running down the stairs towards them.
"Alastor!!!," Charlie called after him. The princess from hell continued to run until she was between him and the irritating woman "Alastor, I see you have welcomed our distinguished guest".
Alastor took a step backwards and resumed his usual manner "Guest? Of course! She mentioned something about having a meeting with you, but nothing about being distinguished,"
"Charlie laughed nervously. She seemed very tense,"I guess she didn't have time to introduce herself," Charlie replied, looking at the woman.
-Yes, she did. But she refused fiercely.
"She must have her reasons," the princess from hell continued, "I welcome you to my hotel. You must be...
"Miss Charlie," greeted the woman with a genuine smile. Her amber eyes no longer looked defiant, but warm "It's a pleasure to meet you" she continued, bowing her head gracefully "Your assumptions are correct. I am Victoria. The judge of Limbo."
Alastor watched in surprise. This was clearly not what he had expected, but it explained her dignified and stubborn attitude. So limbo was real. But what was a judge from Limbo doing there, and why did she seem to be so sympathetic to Charlie? If the stories he had heard about that place and the beings who lived there were true, then this situation would be completely-Ā interesting.
Info About The Writer
Hi! Iā€™m Alistairā€” you can call me that, or you can use my username for pretty much everywhere else, TheetyPie/Theety. I donā€™t mind either way.
Iā€™m a trans guy, I use he/they pronouns. Iā€™m panromantic/asexual, and Iā€™m 27 years old.
I have 3 cats, theyā€™re my babies. I also (as you can tell from above) have a lot of OCs, and the number is still growing. I want to turn my ideas into a bigger creation someday, still not sure exactly where I want to go with it.
I do more than write. I do art, I like video games, music, and just collecting stuff. Current obsessions are Monster High, Jojoā€™s Bizarre Adventure, makeup, crystals, and jewelry.
Rules
The most important: I do not RP smut. In the past Iā€™ve used the fade-to-black method, but Iā€™m not entirely comfortable with that with most of my muses.
In the same vein, DO NOT FORCE SHIPS. I love ships as much as the next guy, but I would prefer to discuss it first, or for us to agree on it. Itā€™s cool if your muse has a crush, totally fineā€” mine get crushes all the time! But make sure if you want to ship, we discuss it first.
In a similar vein to that one as well, no god-modding/powerplaying. If your character is strong, an immortal being, or whatever, cool! I have some of those too. But there should always be a limit. Donā€™t say your character is moving mine unless weā€™ve talked about that. Attempt to move them. Usually I follow along as long as boundaries arenā€™t pushed.
Donā€™t kill or seriously injure my muse without permission. Fights happen, of course, but again: discussion. Iā€™m up for threads where my canon muses are injured or killed, but not where it happens to my OCs, unless weā€™re getting into a backstory and another OC thatā€™s already deceased dies. Non-serious injuries are alright to come out of nowhere with, but if itā€™s a first meeting, Iā€™d prefer to plot it out.
Iā€™m semi-selective. Iā€™m kind of particular about who I follow and who I thread with. I prefer us to be mutuals to thread, but you donā€™t have to be mutuals to send me things.
Iā€™m very bad at keeping up with people. If you message me and I donā€™t respond, itā€™s usually bc Iā€™m shy, I forgot, or Iā€™m busy with work. Itā€™s not you, I promise. Usually I donā€™t message first bc Iā€™m nervous.
Back to shipping: Iā€™m also multiship. Usually my ships are in different universes, unless discussed with all parties beforehand. The exception is a few of my OCs that are partnered togetherā€” ask about their availability. I love random ships, just talk to me about them!
I love duplicates of my muses. Whether itā€™s ā€œx meets selfā€ or I find someone I share a muse with, I love RPing with just about everyone. Please donā€™t hesitate to reach out if we have a muse in common!
One of my other most important statements, not really considered a rule, but itā€™s still important: if you want to know something about any muse, canon or OC, please tell meā€” ask or message me! I havenā€™t been able to write down a lot of info about any of them because Iā€™m on mobile, but I will infodump for you if you need/want to know something. I love talking about my children, theyā€™re precious to me.
If you send something in or make something for me when we havenā€™t even spoken, I might not feel comfortable responding. Iā€™m very shy and nervous about not having any discussion beforehand. šŸ˜
If thereā€™s anything I left out or you need to know, just ask!
Star Trek: First Duty
Original Release: 2002
Developer: Digital Bridges
Publisher: Activision
Platform: WAP
Not played: No playable builds available
Tumblr media
A very early mobile game, made for WAP (Wireless Access Protocol. This is essentially a browser-based game made by people who had a lot of ambition for what mobile phone games could do. First Duty was an adventure game set at Starfleet Academy. You needed to complete a four year training course. I spoke to one of the developers who describe it as a ā€œchose your own pathā€ game.
First Duty was similar to a previous game of theirs called Sorcery!, based on the Steve Jackson book, made as a precursor to their big Star Trek project: Star Trek: Prime Directive.
July 21 - Taipei - Sunday Free Day, Independent Excursion
Today was a free day on Sunday! The night before, I went out to a nightclub with a group of people, so I started at 12:00 pm this morning. We have an "Independent Excursions" assignment, in which we have to use one of our free days or afternoons to pick an excursion based on a cultural aspect of Taiwan. We were told to choose something related to our undergraduate major. I decided to focus my excursion on Taiwan's technological focus as my major is Information Systems. The day before, I did some research on places to go. Some museums, such as the TSMC museum, were booked for months and only had tours in Mandarin (the TSMC tour would have been awesome). In addition, I thought about visiting the main offices of companies like Nvidia. However, they were closed on Sundays, and besides seeing the building, there would have been little to do. My first stop ended up being the National Taiwan Science Education Center.
Once I got to the NTSEC, I realized (and probably should've been evident from online reviews) that this museum was more for children. I had seen some information about semiconductors and technology online, so I only did a little research before getting there. Although I was frustrated that I had spent 30 minutes on a bus going to a children's education museum, I decided to go anyway and see how Taiwan's education museums might differ from those in America. Honestly, I was really glad I went inside. First of all, an event was going on, the 112th academic year Aboriginal Culture and Science Exhibition Awards Ceremony. If you've read my previous blog posts, my entire group had visited an aboriginal person's museum. We were told that we had gone to that museum because it was improbable that we would get any first-hand experience with any aboriginal persons or culture. So, at this exhibition, I could actually get that first-hand experience. Although I didn't stay for the entire exhibition, I watched a group on stage perform some aboriginal dances and songs while wearing traditional clothes. Although that's different from what I came for, it was a fantastic added bonus.
The museum itself was actually very excellent. One person explained online that (even with it being open 9am -6pm) they wish it was open longer because their kids could've spent more time exploring the museum. It was 11 floors, and there were tons of interactive exhibits that all the kids looked super engaged with, from chemistry to math, to physics, to environment, to innovations and tinkering and more. I wandered to the innovations and technology exhibit and was happy to find a timeline on semiconductors, which Taiwan is currently famous for. The timeline ranged from 1833, when a British physicist discovered silver sulfide as a semiconductor material, to 1987, when TSMC was founded, to 2016, when Amazon completed its first drone delivery. Although I was upset that the museum wasn't what I thought it would be, I was happy to find the timeline that I was looking for. Overall, I thought it was interesting that they had exhibits like this that kids were also super interested in.
Then I took the train to Syntrend Creative Park. This is Taipei's technology district and was much more than I expected. There are many tech shops, from gaming to drones to massage chairs and anything you could imagine. Right when I got there, a mobile call of duty game fair was going on. I was encouraged to hop in a short line and try the game, so I did, and I even got a free Red Bull. I initially realized the cultural differences as this fair was super popular, and people in the U.S. aren't interested much in mobile games on their phones. Then, I went into the mall, and it was insane. It was packed, and there were shops with gaming computers, keyboards, crazy gaming chairs, tables, phones specifically for gaming, and many more. I even saw advertisements showing professional gamers promoting the hardware they use, just like an ad of a football player promoting the shoes they wear. I quickly realized how much larger gaming was into this culture. I began to understand how companies like Nvidia in Taiwan were so focused on making semiconductors and computer chips back before COVID-19 that they are now so crucial for building AIs (if you don't know, Nvidia originally made their chips for gaming, and it's now very vital to AI). I will discuss this more in my upcoming Academic Reflection for my independent excursion.
Academic Reflection
As reflected in my freewriting portion of this blog post, I focused my independent excursion on Taiwan's cultural focus and dominance in innovation and technology. Over the past years, Taiwan has become globally recognized for its significant contributions to tech, specifically in its semiconductor production (think Taiwan Semiconductor). U.S. companies, like Nvidia, heavily rely on TSMC and other Taiwan tech companies to advance AI (a world-changing technological innovation that may be bigger than the creation of the computer itself). All things considered, Taiwan has accomplished a remarkable feat in becoming the world's top producer of semiconductors from an island whose primary exports before the 1980s were all low-tech.Ā
Taiwan built a culture of innovation and technology from the ground up to get to where they are today. Today, I could see this simply by walking through the technology district and Syntrend Creative Park. The gaming culture was more extensive than anything I have seen. Many stores sold tons of gaming hardware, including computers, keyboards, chairs, headphones, etc. I even saw a mobile phone that was designed explicitly for gaming. Outside the building, there was also a convention for a mobile first-person shooter game that was extremely popular. The popularity of mobile gaming is one thing that I found different from that of the United States. However, this high interest in gaming and technology shows a significant cultural investment in technology. I initially discovered my love for new technology, AI, and later, my major in Information Systems, partly because of my interest in playing video games when I was younger. Overall, in this way, the cultures in the U.S. and Taiwan are similar.Ā
In addition, it's essential to see how the government helped shape this success years ago. In the 1970s, "Chiang Ching-Kuo, the de facto political leader at the time, sought a "technical breakthrough" to advance Taiwan's industrialization" (Huang 1). He and Dr Pan Wen-Yuan proposed the idea of investing in IC manufacturing technology in Taiwan to the Minister of Economic Affairs. This was the beginning of Taiwan's technology boom. Furthermore, the creation of the Hsinchu Science-Based Industrial Park resulted in large amounts of foreign investment and the expansion of the semiconductor industry. They also sponsored the VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration) project. This project invested in research and development, trained Taiwanese engineers, and sponsored partnerships with international experts. As a result, the region's capacity for producing semiconductors enhanced and facilitated businesses like TSMC. Overall, the government played a huge part in promoting a culture of innovation in technology through education and investing resources, leading to the success of Taiwanese businesses.
