Rise of the Tomb Raider is mostly a fun game, even though it does the classic portrayal of the Soviet Union as comically evil, brutally enslaving Siberians and all that. Whatever, all that stuff is common in American media, but... the 'indigenous' people in Siberia are all English-speakers and some of them have AMERICAN ACCENTS. They also look COMPLETELY like Europeans, rather than Asian like Siberian natives are.

I thought at first that these people were part of some secret organization from America or something. But no. That's just the so-called 'natives.

Compare this to the Soviet Union in the pictures below which actively and consistently included Asian people in their art and propaganda, and you can see just how inept and taken for granted the incredibly poor quality of anti-Soviet propaganda is.

I am way behind, but I’m playing Red Dead Redemption 2 after it being out for so long cause my husband said I have to experience this game. I’m only in chapter two but it’s fun so far, really enjoying it and I really like Arthur he’s a fun character!

I'm still not over the bullshit Dutch put me and the crew through. Ok so Dutch was supposed to be this decent guy? Apparently he killed a girl when they were escaping Blackwater? But Arthur brushed it off b/c "that wasn't like Dutch" and later on u see Dutch doin dumber dumber shit.. even in Arthur's journal he questioned if Dutch was ever a good guy or were they easy to take advantage of.

Most of the time ppl feel they owe their lives to someone that saved them which I feel impacted a lot of why ppl were "loyal" to Dutch but anyways. I think in the end a lot of societal rules or norms wants everyone to conform or fuck off. So since Arthur and Hosea and others talk behind Dutch's back about how he's being crazy asf he started to see that as betrayal. Speaking from personal irl experiences ppl don't like when u question them or think for urself. Or even "doubt" others b/c it's all about ego. The thing with Dutch's crew is most of it was Dutch's word and nothing else and me personally I could never take orders like that b/c it's ppl putting some stupid fuck on a pedestal(which happens a ton irl) there's no respect amongst each other either. It's "invisible hierarchies" which when u think about it should never be a thing b/c yall are a couple criminals on the fucking run. Like this real life shit I wouldn't have time to be kissing somebody's ass as well.

In the end I think u as the player don't fully know if Dutch was lowkey always like that or did he turn into that b/c shit was getting riskier and riskier so he decided he needed to cut ppl lose. Either way stop kissing ppl ass it never ends well. I always say this but i genuinely don't believe in role models or putting ppl on pedestals anymore (anymore, b/c i was influenced by ppl) if anything everything has to be equal or nothing at all. Also I don't think it's terrible to follow someone but make sure they are good ppl u can put ur life on and them the same but that's rare. I'm all for loyalty but I'm not giving that too just anybody.

In the end Dutch didn't deserve the good ppl he had gotten. Fuckin rockstar. I know Arthur could never kill Dutch then again he was like a father to him. That's why I think Arthur was never physical with Dutch even though Dutch wouldn't bat an eye about "doing what had to be done" he couldn't kill Arthur tho or help him in the end. He just leaves him... even parents are fucking evil. "That's still ur mom or dad" "but I'm still their kid but they treat me like shit"💀(also never trust men not even urself??)

If I had a nickel for every time a big budget expansive open world RPG really properly appealed to me as a trans woman by properly repping queer identities and providing a space for us in that world to be ourselves, started out with my player character being shot in the head, made me feel empowered to have an impact on the world and the people around me, and ended with me directly engaging in political and philosophical dilemmas to personally influence the fate of the region I've been playing around in, I'd have two nickels. Which is not a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
