can i just say. and this is probably a niche hill to die on. that i am so gobsmacked every time someone vaguely hints at the idea that jotaro doesn't care meaningfully for the other crusaders, usually particularly kakyoin and joseph, when those two actually tend to be the ones he reacts to being hurt the hardest
like he cares for his loved ones!!!! that literally plays into his character motives in every single part he shows up in!!! stop lying to me!!!!!!!
#me.txt#jjba#i'm going to ramble in tags actually. excuse me#ok. rereading sdc and so confused at the general perception of jotaro and his friends/family. he's not NEARLY as flat or as dickish#i understand that the anime (particularly the dub) tends to slander him but even then he still clearly cares for them! i'm confused#i also understand that a lot of people dig against jotaro and kakyoin as a dynamic because 'they're popular' and that generally disliking#popular things across media is a thing that i've seen consistently everywhere but the discredit to them simply as a DUO and not even as a#pairing is so..... odd..... like they're considered to be a duo that clicks for a reason. i enjoyed them even before i got into the fandom#every time i see someone say jotaro is overrated/dull i take a shot and assume they're an anime-only or only read the manga like once btw#joseph and jotaro also have a neat dynamic and they obviously both love and care for each other. like they're not going to go around loudly#or anything but literally the entirety of the lovers and the prelude to the dio fight IS jotaro being worked up over joseph getting hurt#equally i don't know if it translates to the anime as much but joseph is VERY complimentary when it comes to jotaro. like he sings his#praises so often and reminds everyone that he's his grandson so frequently (d'arby the gamer is a good example of this). either way it's so#peculiar....... there's not enough avdol and jotaro content btw (also in canon) because jotaro obviously looks up to him and avdol jokes#around with him on the occasion they interact after their intro which doesn't start very well. it's very cute#i do think an important thing to note about jotaro's character is how he acts AFTER his intro because he's so drastically different. early#jotaro and later jotaro aren't the same character and i do not mean this in a character development way. excluding the jail incident he's#completely different and probably shouldn't really be taken into account (especially considering the amount of slapstick in araki's intros)#and i think that's really???? what people center on for his character? Which sucks balls bad!#anyways. i could ramble more about this if asked i have so much to say but sigh. jotaro cares so much for his friends and family he's not a#flat fully cold asshole character regardless of whether you watch the anime or ova or read the manga. you just have poor media literacy#i wouldn't recommend watching solely the anime for his character though. the dub also changes a lot so it's... questionable#i love the anime and it's still important for him though. also adds neat stuff. i need to stop myself. i have many thoughts on the matter#jotaro kujo#joseph joestar#noriaki kakyoin#adding in case anyone sees: i am not saying that he is perfect about this. in fact he is very ass about it with jolyne and holly and that's#very important. he also is in fact an asshole sometimes. NOT as much as you guys are making him though!#please don't get me started on how much of a dick etc people make kakyoin to veer away from the 'woobified' characterizations of him#in fact i think that's bad if not worse because it CLAIMS to be in character. hes a prim asshole at times but not that angry or dishevelled

#mine#t-2 hours until interview and i'm nervousssss i couldn't sleep well last night...#i ended up falling asleep looping one of my favorite songs by my favorite band which was nice but urrgrgghggh#i feel like i didnt prepare enough yesterday and now im so nervous im pretending the google doc i made doesnt even exist#i mean i have it open 2 tabs away but you know...i don't want to see it or think about it#TWO 30 minute sessions with 2 separate people...AND interviewing in spanish shortly after that...first time doing so...#uuuuggghhhhhhh#i'm really hoping that the 2 30min parts will cover like every question they want to ask (seriously why do we need a whole hour...)#and then the spanish part will be more language related#most of all i hope she asks things i can answer and i hope my spontaneous spanish is good because i could not be assed#translating all of my rehearsal answers -_- no thanks girl#URRRRGGGJJ#all this for a call center job too -_- but whatever every interview is more experience and i need to level up hashtag gamer

I'm painting my bookshelves and my partners desk to better match our apartment and I forgot how much I love this shit
#My bedroom at my last place was black and green#So my bookshelves and desk are like. Black wood. And it looks Bad with our current living room furniture#Which is light green pink gray and light wood toned#So I'm painting the bookshelves a slightly darker green than our entertainment center and adding some pink accents#And the desk is Jen's now since I have an office at work so I'm painting it blue and white#Since she wants a blue and white gamer setup#Like to be clear the apartment will still Clearly belong to two 23 year olds with no money and no interior design training#But by God it'll be colorful. And that's what matters!#Also it's an 800 square foot apartment and every single open living room wall is lined with bookshelves because i have Too Many Books#So the bookshelves being black makes the room look even smaller that it already is#My last place I had an l shaped room and I had two darker accent walls that made the place look a little bigger#And I turned the smaller side of the L into an office space with my bookshelves so it looked cozy not tiny#But the black shelving doesn't work as well in a living room that is. Frankly. Smaller than the original bedroom#We were renting a house in the middle of nowhere so there was more space for cheaper rent

FFXIV NA - Quitting Duty On First Wipe
(DISCLAIMER: This is NOT towards the entire NA community, simply some things I have noticed during my play time.)
Why are we expecting our duties to go flawless the first time? there are plenty who are still learning mechanics, lay of the duty, and sometimes they may have console or PC issues that hinder their performance.
Some even have emergencies in rea life where they have to abandon their play for a while, in the middle of a duty.
Why are we becoming so upset if our parties wipe first time around? we are not perfect players. Humans are not perfect flawless creatures. You do not know if someone has a learning disability that could affect how fast or slow they learn something.
Rather than getting upset over 1 wipe, simply try again. FFXIV is not a competition MMO, competition should only happen on the PvP battlefield, not between players who have to work together to clear a duty.

something about when gamer men do the whole "ugh women just don't get why we love gaming so much :(". Well. maybe if women were actually treated seriously as gamers and gaming stopped being seen as a Male Activity where they get yelled at and harassed in voice chats or made to feel like the only games they're allowed to touch are the sims and stardew valley played on their pink computers
maybe women would 'get' gaming if gaming 'got' women
#like there's always been a large demographic of women/girl gamers and it has only grown more and more with time#and yet the gaming industry/community/culture still treat them like shit lmao#like they're just gamer lites who game to be the cutesy kind of nerd that their boyfriend can be into#pink gamer chair and pink keyboard and pink pc and pink mouse and kitty ear headphones#like women only game for the aesthetic and don't understand ''Real Games'' and have to stick to cozy indie dating sims#but the reality is They Obviously Don't because they're not the helpless babies gamers imagine them to be#and yet nothing else is explicitly marketed towards them Or welcoming to them#even games where you pick your character's gender mostly just feel like the girl option is Still for men#like the male/female options aren't ''this one if you're a man/that one if you're female'' but#''this one by default/that one if you want to look at ass the whole time''#back before my voice got deep i never used voice chat because i knew the second i was clocked as female it was over#hell i considered using a voice changer just so i could participate without becoming the center of attention#and then these dudes have the audacity to whine that women don't understand why they love games so much#maybe if you let them have a proper go at it without treating them like fuckable cryptids who got lost on their way to the sanrio convention#maybe more of them would 'get it'
