We as a society need to stop funding games that use “Roguelike” and “cozy” as their main selling points. I’m tired of looking for new indie games and all of them are early access printer-jam-dipper clones of slay the spire and stardew valley.

#i will concede to slay the spire being rogue LITE in that it has roguelike elements but #persona has dating sim elements but that doesn’t make the entire game a dating sim #the problem is that i see so many games that label themselves as roguelikes when in reality #i think we should start calling them Spirelikes #linear point and click map with the main game being mostly turn based #don’t get me wrong #i love Peglin and Dicey Dungeons #but i do not consider them roguelikes #also cozy games are all just the same game with a different skin #and stardew valley is not cozy?! at least not to me #sure maybe if you only do farming its cozy #but going to the mines and proper time management is anxiety inducing #OH and remembering what is in your community center anf what you need to still get #cause if you miss that timing window you gotta wait a whole year to get back to that season #cozy games want to sell by making you think its like stardew but with none of the substance #okay gamer rant over
