We focus on small production expressions of Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from our four acclaimed estate vineyard sites throughout the Napa Valley. Our wines are of exceptional quality and always speak to time and place.

Call us geeky. Obsessed. We believe in the time-honored tradition of making wine as it should be: honest and true, of place, and without compromise (or a lot of fuss).

Each vintage we follow that endless pursuit to achieve the very best quality. This means putting the resources in the right place. We have a dedicated team in the cellar and vineyard year round who have an infinitely valuable level of knowledge and experience. We believe having a well-equipped cellar onsite not only keeps our process transparent, but also helps us make better wine. We conduct cooperage trials when needed to find the best barrels suited to our wines. We maintain our own bottling line so we can bottle at just the right time, when the wine is ready. We don’t cut corners. Decisions are driven foremost to support the quality and integrity in our farming and winemaking.

Farming for quality, with our own hands.

We’re immensely proud to be owners and farmers of four spectacular estate vineyards in Oakville and Calistoga. Ours is a carefully curated collection of sites that give us a range of attributes and expressions of the Napa Valley. We grow fruit from the historic valley floor to the steepest of slopes high above Oakville. These vineyards reflect some of the best terroir the Napa Valley has to offer, and give us a true fingerprint of origin and place.

Marguerite and Faust in the Garden

Description

Scheffer’s work has been criticised as being overly sentimental, but his emotionally charged images struck a chord with the public, and he was one of the most popular artists of his day. Scheffer was inspired by the clarity of composition, and the direct approach to narrative, of Italian painting from before 1500. He frequently drew inspiration from great works of literature, such as, in this painting, Goethe’s Faust. Here Faust is seen courting Marguerite, watched by her neighbour Martha and Mephistopheles. The mocking expression on the face of Mephistopheles points to the tragic consequences that will result from this courtship.
