8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.

Salvation and Scripture: A Latter-day Saint Approach to Faith, Works, and Modern Revelation
Faith, grace, and works are often hotly debated topics in Christian theology, and Ephesians 2:8–9 and Galatians 1:8–9 have long been central to these conversations. As Latter-day Saints, we affirm salvation through grace but understand that faith and works together reflect true conversion. Critics often claim these verses contradict our beliefs, but with context and revelation, they align…

Sacrifice: The Mystery That Turns Murderers Into Missionaries
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. Free Grace Salvation
Free grace salvation means we are forgiven, justified, and saved solely by God’s grace, and not by any human effort or merit. All humanity is inherently sinful and unable to earn entrance into heaven. Our good works do not save. They never have and never will. Salvation is entirely a work of God. He offers it to sinful humanity as a gift, given freely and unconditionally to all who believe in…

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor’ and ‘hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemy and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be like your Father in heaven, since he causes the sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Even the tax collectors do the same, don’t they? And if you only greet your brothers, what more do you do? Even the Gentiles do the same, don’t they? So then, be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect." Da Big JC

From Rebecca Solnit:
Yeah, we've reached the state where Christian nationalists hate Jesus and anyone like him. "Sin of empathy." [Last] screenshot is Speaker Johnson having a hissy fit about that Episcopalian's sermon.
Some Bible passages on love and kindness, for the record:
John: 13:34
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
Matthew:
36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Zachariah, Old Testament
8Then the word of the Lord came to Zechariah, saying,
9“Thus says the Lord of hosts:
‘Execute true justice,
Show [g]mercy and compassion
Everyone to his brother.
10Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless,
The alien or the poor.
Let none of you plan evil in his heart
Against his brother.’
Galatians 5:22
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Psalm 31:21
Blessed be the Lord: for he hath shewed me his marvellous kindness in a strong city.
Colossians 3:11-13
11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
2 Peter 1
5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

Nothing can Separate us from Jesus
Romans 8:35-39
Romans 8:35- Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulations or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or sanger or sword?
1st Corinthians 4:11- To the present hour we hunger and thirst, we are poorly dressed and buffeted and homeless.
2nd Corinthians 11:6-7: Even if I am unskilled in speaking, I am not so in knowledge; indeed, in every way we have made thus plain to you in all things or did I commit a sin in humbling myself so that you might be exalted, because I preached God's gospel to you free of charge.
Romans 8:36- As it is written "For your sake we face death all day long we are considered as sheep to be slaughter."
Psalms 44:22- Yet for your sake we are killed all day; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.
In reference to Psalms 44:22:
Jeremiah 11:19- I have been like a gentle lamb led to the slaughter, I did not realize that they plotted against me saying let us destroy the tree and its fruit; let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name be remembered no more.
1st Corinthians 4:9- But sometimes I think God has put his apostles display like prisoners of way at the end of a victor's parade condemned to die we have become a spectacle to the entire world to people and angels alike
2nd Corinthians 4:11- For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus' sake so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.
Romans 8:37- No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him, who loved us.
1st Corinthians 15:57- But thanks be to God who gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:8- But God showed us his love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us. (THANK YOU JESUS)
Galatians 2:20- I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live but Christ who lives in me and the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loves me and gave himself for me.
Ephesians 1:21- Far above all rule and authority, and power and dominion and above every name that is named not only in this age but also in the ones to come.
Revelation 1:5- And from Jesus Christ the faithful witness the first born of the dead and the rulers of Kings on earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood.
In reference to Revelation 1:5:
Isaiah 55:4- Behold I have made him a witness to the people a leader and commander for the peoples.
Romans 8:38- For I am convinced that neither death nor life neither angels nor demons neither the present not the future nor any powers.
1st Corinthians 3:22- Whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future all are yours.
Colossians 1:16- For by him all things were created in heaven and on earth visible and invisible whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authority all things were created through him and for him.
1st Peter 3:22- Who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angel, authorities and powers having been subjected to him
Romans 8:39- Neither height nor depth nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the Love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 5:8- But God showed us his love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us. (THANK YOU JESUS)

God's Word Sown on the Soil of Fertile Hearts, Brings Forth Much Fruit
Jesus explains the parable of the sower and his seed:
Luke 8:11-18 "The seed is the word of God. Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they shall believe and be saved. But the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away. Now the ones that fell among thorns are those who, when they have heard, go out and are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity. But the ones that fell on good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience. No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a vessel or puts it under a bed, but sets it on a lampstand, that those who enter may see the light. For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light. Therefore take heed how you hear. For whoever has, to him more will be given; and whoever does not have, even what he seems to have will be taken from him."

Theology of Demons Miscellanea
"There was never any question [for the Christian] of attributing all evil to man - indeed, the New Testament has far more to say about dark superhuman powers than the Fall of Adam." C. S. Lewis, "Evil and God" in God in the Dock.
I've liked this quote for a long time, but I've recently wondered "is it true?"
At least on a statistical level, yes.
The fall of Adam is referenced three times in the New Testament - Romans 5:12-21, 1 Corinthians 15:20-28, 1 Timothy 2:12-15. By contrast, dark superhuman powers appear in Romans 8:38, 1 Corinthians 15:25-26, 10:20-22 and maybe 2:6-8*, 2 Corinthians 4:4, Galatians 4:3-9, Ephesians 2:2, 3:10 and 6:12, Colossians 2:8, 2:15 and 2:20, 1 Peter 5:8, 2 Peter 2:4, 1 John 4:1-3 and 5:19, Jude 6, and, of course, Revelation 12-13 and 20 - all without counting the Gospel exorcism narratives.
Which leads me onto my next point - despite all of this, and a stated desire to get back to the Bible, Protestant theologies in my personal experience tend to marginalise the demonic and angelic realm (excluding certain denominations like Pentecostals). Sure, they affirm their existence, but there's a discomfort with attributing anything specific to them, especially in the present day, or with giving them a prominent place in theology.
And it's not just me saying. Folklorist Jeremy Harte in his book Cloven Country: The Devil and the English Landscape (about, well, the Devil in English and Welsh folklore) says that:
"In practice, if not in doctrine, Protestant writers rejected the numberless demons that had provided their medieval precursors with such varied explanations of bad weather; they were also disinclined to attribute disasters to Satan himself, as this would abrogate from the sovereignty of God." (p.199)
Because I want to hear what some real Protestants have to say on the issue, tagging @theexodvs and @greater-than-the-sword - particularly, I want to know if you think the marginalisation of demons is a real trend in Protestant theology, and if, so, where it comes from.
My personal theory is that Protestantism began in early modern Europe, where the demons had already been driven out by the people who first converted those countries to Christianity - so Protestant theologians see demons as marginal because, in their time and place, they were.
*Saying "maybe" because that interpretation's unpopular among modern Biblical scholars, but it's what I'm inclined to and has Patristic precedent: for example, St. Athanasius identified the wisdom of the Greeks with occultism and the worship of idols (On the Incarnation 46.4)

Who Can Separate Us from God's Love?
35 Who can separate us from Christ’s love? Can trouble or hard times or harm or hunger? Can nakedness or danger or war? 36 It is written,
“Because of you, we face death all day long. We are considered as sheep to be killed.” (Psalm 44:22)
37 No! In all these things we are more than winners! We owe it all to Christ, who has loved us. 38 I am absolutely sure that not even death or life can separate us from God’s love. Not even angels or demons, the present or the future, or any powers can separate us. 39 Not even the highest places or the lowest, or anything else in all creation can separate us. Nothing at all can ever separate us from God’s love. That’s because of what Christ Jesus our Lord has done. — Romans 8:35-39 | New International Reader's Version (NIRV) New International Reader’s Version Copyright © 1995, 1996, 1998, 2014 by Biblica, Inc.®. "CONFRONTING THE ENEMY'S TACTICS!"
Psalm 144:1, “Blessed be the Lord, my Rock and my keen and firm Strength, Who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight” (AMPC) The main tactic of the enemy is deception. “Deception” is defined as, “the act of causing someone to accept as true or valid what is false or invalid; to trick; to cheat; to defraud; to be dishonest.” And that’s exactly who the enemy is, a deceiver, liar and the…

STAND FAST IN THE LIBERTY
"STAND FAST THEREFORE IN THE LIBERTY BY WHICH CHRIST HAS MADE US FREE, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage."
Galatians 5:1 (NKJV)
Comment: The admonition in our text, the above passage of the Bible, is; "STAND FAST THEREFORE IN THE LIBERTY [freedom] BY WHICH CHRIST HAS MADE US FREE" (Galatians 5:1 NKJV).
How do you stand fast or firm in the liberty? The liberty being talked about is the salvation received through faith in Christ Jesus (Romans 10:9,10). Liberty from Sin. Liberty from the works of the law, the ritual practices, and dos and don'ts found in the old testament Judaism. Liberty from idolatry. Liberty from sinful habits or practices you were entrenched in.
Whatever you have been rescued or delivered from, do not go back into it again: "BUT NOW WE HAVE BEEN DELIVERED FROM THE LAW, HAVING DIED TO WHAT WE WERE HELD BY, SO THAT WE SHOULD SERVE IN THE NEWNESS OF THE SPIRIT AND NOT IN THE OLDNESS OF THE LETTER" (Romans 7:6 NKJV).
a. Do not go back into sins that you have been delivered from (Colossians 3:5-9).
b. Do not go back into idolatrous traditions and customs that are contrary to the Bible, which you have forsaken (Colossians 2:20-22).
c. Do not go back into whatever would ensnare or entangle you in a bondage (Ephesians 5:3,4).
Stand in the liberty or freedom of God (Galatians 5:1).
Note: You stand in the liberty by reading, studying and pondering on the Bible (Joshua 1:8). Not only that, you live your life according to the principles found in the Bible (James 1:22,25). Daily intake of a Bible passage and the practice of It, is the foundation of whatever you would become in God. It is the basis or the bedrock or the principal component for your communion with God.
a. You build your relationship with God through fellowshipping or communion. b. Your intimacy with God is strengthened when you have a good and working communion or fellowship with Him.
c. You also pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Of course, prayer would become part of your life If your Word intake and the fellowshipping with God is intact or unwavering.
Stop deceptions (Ephesians 4:25; Colossians 3:9). Do things according to the Bible. If these basic principles are not done, as a believer in Christ Jesus, your relationship and fellowshipping with God would be hampered.
If you practiced what is shared in this piece, you are standing fast or firm or strong in the liberty by which Christ has made you free.
Peace.

MANIFESTING A RESURRECTION MINDSET
We develop a resurrection mindset, not just the future resurrection but in our thinking now. There will be an ultimate resurrection and glorification. There is a resurrection power working in us now. Our spirit has been raised from the dead already (see Romans 6:3).
"And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in us." - (Romans 8:11 ). The Bible says we are risen "now" in the "likeness of His resurrection" and life (see Romans 6:5).
REIGNING AS KINGS
"For if because of one man's trespass (lapse, offense) death reigned through that one, much more surely will those who receive [God's] overflowing grace (unmerited favor) and the gift of righteousness reign as kings in life through the one Man Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One)" - Romans 5:17. AMP
"For this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me" (Colossians 1:29 NASB).
We are reigning in life as kings through resurrection and the grace of God. Sin and death have no dominion over me. "Knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him" - Romans 6:9 NKJV. This means that sickness, poverty, and disease have no dominion over us because we have died and been resurrected to share in His likeness.
"The law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death." - Romans 8:2
NEW LAW OF GRACE
There is a new law of grace. The law of sin, death, and condemnation was a spiritual law of death and bondage. All of hell was ready to back-up and enforce that law. But the new law of the Spirit of life (the ascended Life in Christ), the law of grace in Christ Jesus, has made me free from the law of sin and death.
Now all of heaven and His angels are ready to enforce this law!
Confessions:
I'm free and no longer under death's curse of sin, sickness, disease, and poverty. It's a spiritual law of grace and freedom. "Devil, you can't hold me down!" There is a new law of the Spirit realm- “The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus.” I do the works of Jesus – I equip myself with the understanding I need to advance and bear fruit for His Kingdom.
"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus." - Romans 8:1 NKJV. There is no guilt, punishment, sentence, or shame – all our sins have been forgiven so there is nothing hindering or delaying our advancing His Kingdom through our Christ calling.
CHRIST NOW LIVES THROUGH US
"Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so, we also should walk in newness of life." - Romans 6:4 NKJV.
"For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. 'Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead Indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.'" - Romans 6:10-11 NKJV.
"It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me" see Galatians 2:20 NKJV).
We need to be possessed by the Holy Spirit in such a way that we know it's no longer us who lives, but Christ who lives in us. And we'll be walking in this reality when Jesus actually lives through us in our Christ calling -- through our fruit bearing for His Kingdom by “Feeding His Sheep” thereby defeating the works of the devil.
MANIFESTING GOD'S KINGDOM
Through the likeness of His resurrection (see Romans 6:5) and the idea that as we walk in "newness of life," we walk in victory.
Two keys to this are His grace and our obedience -- in love. In fact, we can only manifest God's kingdom to the extent we're willing to sacrifice, surrender, and be obedient to His PURPOSE FOR OUR LIFE. The greater the obedience and total surrender, the greater the manifestation of power.
