Sera Myu Week - Day 1
The first prompt! I am not fully back to Tumblr, so I think I’m gonna stick with rankings for most of the prompts! But this’ll help you get a bit of a better look at me! @sera-myu-week
Day 1, Dark Kingdom. Gonna rank all the Dark Kingdom Myu. Gonna exclude The Super Live & Shining Moon Tokyo since we haven’t seen them in full. But just know, I do really love both casts and they would probably be high up on the list. xD 5. Gaiden: Dark Kingdom Fukkatsu Hen (1993)
Tumblr media
Scan from https://www.shiningmoon.com.pl/ As you may have expected, Gaiden is at the bottom of my list. I’m sorry, it’s still my least-favorite musical. I have found charm in it when I rewatched it a year ago, but it definitely struggled a lot. It was the first musical, and it definitely has the worst growing pains out of all of them. But, it gave us ANZA and La Soldier, so it definitely was good for something, at least. XD
4. NogiMyu - Team MOON (2018)
Tumblr media
Man, the NogiMyu fanwars really had me disliking this version for a very long time. xD I actually REALLY like it now. I prefer the other 2 versions of NogiMyu, but it definitely has its charm! It’s crazy to me that only 2 of the senshi are still in Nogizaka46 now (Riria and Mizuki)!
3. La Reconquista (2013)
Tumblr media
You know, there’s just something I really love about La Reconquista but I just can’t put my finger on it. Besides Petite Etrangere, it’s definitely one of the weaker Nelke Musicals, and yet, I just like it? Watching the Blu-ray, I couldn’t believe how much I was enjoying it. I think for being the musical tha revived Myu, it did a good job. It set the tone that eventually lead us to getting even better musicals later! PLUS THE INNERS CAST IS AMAZING <3 (Even Miyabi. I love her too. XD)
2. NogiMyu 2019
Tumblr media
NogiMyu 2019 was honestly so good. I will say, watching it for the first time, I didn’t really feel it as I was VERY in love with Team STAR. But, over time, I REALLY grew to love this cast. I can’t pick a favorite between Shiori, Junna, and Seira. They’re all SO good. Plus, the amazing supporting cast from the past NogiMyu performances. Mayu was a bit of a weak link from the inners, but she’s still good and has improved a lot in Nogizaka46 since then!
1. NogiMyu - Team STAR (2018)
Tumblr media
I’ve been gone for a while, but you guys KNOW this was gonna be my first place. Even now, it still ranks either my favorite or second-favorite musical of all time (it switches daily XD). I loved this cast SO much. SayuriMoon is one of my all-time faves and she will remain supreme in my eyes! It was the first NogiMyu version I saw, and my heart will always remain with Team STAR. ALSO HELLO QUEEN KANA NAKADA THE LEGEND I LOVE HER SO MUCH.
Okay, that’s it for day 1, I hope you enjoyed byeeeee xD

Gaiden Dark Kingdom Fukkatsu Hen Reveal Scene:
Kunzite: “So if you take ‘Saitou Kun’ and reverse it, it’s Kunzite, and that’s me, Kunzite, one of the Dark Kingdom’s Shitennou.”
Zoisite: “Likewise, I’m Zoisite and I wanted to love Kunzite forever.”
Kunzite: *somewhat surprised because he thought we weren’t doing full introductions but also not entirely opposed to this*
Nephrite: “Likewise, I’m Nephrite. Also one time I wanted to eat a chocolate parfait with Naru Osaka.”
Kunzite: “Wait, what?”
Jadeite: “Yup, and I was sealed away for my many failures--I am the malicious Jadeite!”
Nephrite: “Okay, but why did you add ‘the malicious’ to your name?”
Zoisite: “Why not? You were saying weird things, too.”
Nephrite: “Only because you’re the one who started doing the full intro!”
Zoisite: “Because that’s the way we practiced it!”
Jadeite: “Look, I just couldn’t think of a cool intro so I added a title to make up for it...”
Kunzite: *facepalms in the background*

Myu review 1: 1993 Gaiden Dark Kingdom Fukkatsu Hen!
Tumblr media
I am a big fan of Sailor Moon and when in  2012-13 (i think) i found that they were musicals based on the manga and the series( that went between 1993 to 2005) i was so happy. I began watching them on youtube when it was announce in 2013 a revival of the musicals due to the 20th aniversary of the serie/manga. To be honest i watched this last musicals all in order and i love it, but when it came with the old ones i only watched the first stage (anzamoon) and some bits of Fumina, none of Miyuki (sadly) and some things of Marina. So thank you to this quarentine and to @sailorzakuro who encouraged me i decided to review the first, second and third stage of the musical (that is the Bandai era) and then i will do the same with the Nelke´s one.
Before i began, please consider that this is my opinion about it, you can have another and that is more than fine. So please respect what are you going to read below. Also  since it is not my area of expertise  i am not judging the singing of the actress (all i am going to say about it is: i like it/i don´t) i will leave that for the fans who knows and understands it. Feel free to message me if you see something that is wrong or even to talk to me... more than happy to meet more myu fan.
So the first thing that i have to say about this musical is that i have a couple of issues with it. I know i should be soft because it was the first one and i will, i promise. But there are some problems (i think) with the screenplay. It was made perfectly clear that this musical takes places after the first season of SM ended in Japan. So, having that in mind here are my questions: Why the shenshis did not rembember their past life? . In the serie this happened, we have a episode with it, so it made no sense (at least for me) that the girls remember  nothing about their previous life. I mean, they know who beryl and the shitennou are... idk they messed up that i think. It works if you have not watched the first season i guess, but otherwise, it was weird. Another question is what kind of relationship have Usagi and Mamoru? Are they friends?. Because he called her “usako” and she “mamo-chan” and i thought that if they are calling each other that way... maybe there were something more than friends?. I do not know maybe i am being very critical about this (LOL) but you have to admit that some things are off (if i am wrong with this please, please, correct me).
Leaving all this behind, i have to say that it is a nice musical. Anzamoon is cute (althought i think she went very hard with the crybaby moments) and looked so young but her voice is amazing...gosh!.. Her moon was very poor tbh (and i hate saying this because i love anza with all my heart), her Usagi needed more work too, but it was her first musical... so she was pretty good. The one thing i have to say about her is that the very first moment you see her, you know she is having the time of her life, enjoying herself and i really love that. We barely see anything from Ami/Ayako & Mako/Kanoto wich is bad and sad but i think they were ok. Rei/Hikoro... i have opposite feelings about her because she had their great moments but then she behaved like Minako, so let´s say that i would like to see more of her because i do not think it is fair to criticize her based only in one musical. Minako/Nana my sweet dear girl, i love her so much. I know, I KNOW she is not the Minako we are used to, but she reminded me of S1 Minako  (sweet but mature ) and i love it. It ´s pretty early but i Nana is one of my fav Minako/Venus. Luna&Artemis Ok so i am not a big fan of them being in stage, they look weird (the nogimyu´s luna  was worst for me) and also they do not move as cast, maybe Artemis... but yeah. Tuxedo/Mizuki unpopular opinnion  her but i really, really like him. Again he reminded me of S1 Mamoru and was soo god, also he had a very good chemistry with Anza. His voice was pretty tbh, he sound so refined and sofisticated. The Shitennou were good, they were based on the anime so it was a little rare and strange when Nephrire talked about Naru-Chan or when  Zoisite said that was in love with Kunzite when you totally see that Minako and Kunzite were a thing in the past as the rest of the girls with the others. Lastly Beryl/ Yuri was very good,( but i like her more in the upcomings musicals) the only thing that bothered me (not because of her necessary) was her costumes, gosh she looks awful in some scenes.
I like this musical, really. When i saw it for the first time i loved it and since i love the fist arc (again another unpopular opinion) i am always more than happy to see any adaptation of it. I watched it yesterday again after a couple of months i and have so much fun. Yes i know that i complained about the script but aside that, the musicals is very good. I love how Sailor Moon is so special and grand that it have a lot of representations and i will never get tired of them. Sera myu is amazing, really.
So this is my review, please fell free to message me sharing your opinions. If you have not watched Sera myu, please do it. You can find them in youtube for sure!!
Again thank you so much @sailorzakuro for being so cool and so kind to me!

Day 1 - Bandai Myu
Let’s celebrate @sera-myu-week by watching the musical that started it all!
1993 Summer - Spin-off - The Dark Kingdom Resurrection Chapter
You can also download this musical along with all 25 recorded Bandai Musicals at Seaofserenity.net.
This musical acts as an alternate sequel to the first season of the original 1990′s anime. This is the show that started it all debuting actors and actresses who would go on to be involved in the Bandai produced Sailor Moon musicals for many years. This show also features the only BanMyu which includes Luna and Artemis in the cast.
This musical is the first Sera Myu show to debut in 1993. It is also the first musical for Anza Ohyama as Sailor Moon, as well as the popular first Sailor Mercury actress, Ayako Morino. This is the show that starts it all and many of the cast go one to be involved in later Bandai produced Sailor moon musicals. This musical acts as a direct sequel to the first season of the original anime, being the only musical to directly relate to the anime series and have direct references to it. This is also the only musical where Luna and Artemis were characters in the story.  Neither of the cats are cast in a Sailor Moon musical until 25 years later with the Nogizaka 46 x Sailor Moon musical project, which has Luna in the form of a puppet.
It's kaiteiban (revision) was unfortunately never released on VHS or DVD, so this is the only version of the musical that is available to watch.
Usagi and her friends are looking forward to their upcoming summer vacation, hoping it to be filled with lots of fun and romance. However, Usagi has a dream where Queen Beryl declares the revival of the Dark Kingdom. Luna is rightful upset, as Usagi's dreams and premonitions come true. Ami, Rei, Mako and Minako are skeptical but soon the resurrection of the Dark Kingdom becomes apparent. Once again, the Sailor Soldiers much return to D Point in order to save Tuxedo Mask from Queen Beryl and the Four Heavenly Kings.
Can Usagi and her friends save Mamoru and the Earth or will the Dark Kingdom’s plans actually come to fruition...?
Starring:
Anza Ohyama as Usagi Tsukino / Sailor Moon Ayako Morino as Ami Mizuno / Sailor Mercury Hiroko Nakayama as Rei Hino/Sailor Mars Kanoko as Makoto Kino/Sailor Jupiter Nana Suzuki as Minako Aino/Sailor Venus Mizuki Sano as Mamoru Chiba/Tuxedo Mask

@sera-myu-week 2020 | Day 4: Villains
Queen Beryl’s songs through the years
Here’s to the Queen of Darkness herself!!! Sorcerer of Earth, leader of the Dark Kingdom, ruin of the Silver Millennium, the og big bad, present in all Sailor Moon media...Queen Beryl! Her numbers were first seen in the following musicals:
- Gaiden Dark Kingdom Fukkatsu Hen (1993) - Eien Densetsu (1997) - Ok, the 3rd one is a bit of a cheat: Tenkuu no Utage is actually a song for both Beryl and Galaxia, from Eien Densetsu. However in Kakyuu-Ouhi Kourin (2004) they used only the verses regarding Beryl...so I took the liberty to include it! - La Reconquista (2013) - Sailor Moon Musical ~ Nogizaka46 Version (2018) x2
I thought of including her duets (there are some really cool ones) but decided to focus on the songs she leads!

Watching Reconquista makes me think back to the time a similar scheme was pulled in “Gaiden Dark Kingdom Fukkatsu Hen,” only that time with more focus on Venus and Kunzite. Though in many ways, the Venus/Kunzite in that musical felt like a Sailor V story moreso than intended to be romantic. At the moment, I’m not sure what exactly it is about it that makes it feel that way to me. Maybe it’s that I was just beginning to read scans of the manga at the time I saw this one. It could also be the casting choices. The Venus in that musical always felt a little more “Sailor V” to me than some of her successors. Which of course I also can’t explain without rewatching it.
At some point, it might be fun to do a comparison of the way it tends to get played in the musicals, because I do think that even between the (multiple) ones where it all turns out to have been a trap, there are variations on things like how much regret the Shitennou feel or don’t feel about it, what the Senshi feel when they find out, and whether or not that subplot affected their reactions to anything else.
