Are your SM remasters available to watch anywhere?

I’ve had several people reach out after the recent post about my efforts to remaster the BanMyu Sailor Moon musicals.

The short answer is yes, they should be available to watch soon!

I’m a big fan of the folks who run the Sea of Serenity website. It was their translation of PGSM that got me started on this weird and wonderful journey. They’re incredibly passionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated.

They, and the extended community around the site, were there every step of the way during this process, offering support, encouragement, and a sounding board when I was unsure how to proceed.

Now that this project has concluded, I have turned all of my remasters over to Sea of Serenity.

Although they are not available on the website yet, they should be in the near future.

So, my advice? Keep an eye on Sea of Serenity. I’ll of course mention the rollout right here on Tumblr, as well.

Really, if you enjoy Sera Myu, Sea of Serenity is a fantastic resource, regardless.

By the way, my PGSM HD remasters will also find a home on their website.

The musical is so good, the actresses are so talented and can sing amazingly. I want to see this cast again!

“The Super Live” nourished my Inner Child

My connection to Sailor Moon began, like so many in my age bracket, in the 1990s with the original anime. I’ve spent a lot of time over the years trying to analyze why the show resonated so strongly with me as a child. My guess is that there is no simple answer.

What I do know is that the anime began an enduring relationship with this set of characters. I watched the anime. Eventually, I read the manga, later watched the remake, then found my way to the live-action show. At long last, I’ve finally begun exploring the musicals.

I went through phases of intense interest in Sailor Moon and her Guardians, but even in those quiet times in between, they were always with me. Usagi’s refusal to give up, Ami’s studiousness, Rei’s passion, Makoto’s strength and ability to subvert expectations, Minako’s spirit; they had profound meaning to me.

The notion that I could watch them on stage, meet actors embodying those characters in person…I never even dared consider the possibility. It never even crossed my mind.

Which made actually watching Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon: The Super Live an incredibly moving experience. I won’t attempt to review the show or critique performances; I simply can’t.

What I can say is this: sitting there in that theater, once again watching a retelling of the Dark Kingdom arc, my inner child felt nourished. I was reminded, in pure and distilled form, that Sailor Moon is about one thing above all else: love, in all of its forms, will ultimately overcome all obstacles.

I like to think I know this on an intellectual level. Through the heartfelt portrayals of the cast and the sumptuous music, however, I was reminded why Sailor Moon always made me believe it in my heart, as well.

Does that sound sappy? Absolutely.

I’m okay with being a little sappy sometimes.

Finally, to the gentleman sitting next to me at the show: I apologize for startling you with my incredibly unhinged, loud howl during La Soldier.

I regret nothing.

Hi fellow Sailor Moon fans!

I know it's been a while since I've used tumblr, but with The Super Live NA tour hype going around, I'm trying to use it again. I was able to see the show in Sugarland,TX back in March and as a lifelong Sailor Moon fan, and especially being a big fan of the musicals, it was such an amazing experience.

Chatting with fellow fans, I realized there's a whole side of this fandom that never knew about the musicals before The Super Live. If so, we eagerly welcome you to the Commyunity!

I'm more active there myself but it's been so fun to share in all the experiences with other members who have gone to see the show.

I went and saw Sailor Moon the Super Live in St Louis with my best friend last night, and it was worth the 4hr drive across state to live out my childhood dreams of seeing a Sera Myu performance.

They played "La Soldier" at the end, and I was blubbering like a baby. My eyeliner did it's best to hold up haha.

Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon - The (NEW) Super Live

Due to popular demand, the London run has been extended!

Starring Yui Yokoyama as Sailor Moon, The Super Live will be alternating between two theaters in London from February 4th to March 19th, 2025 totaling 43 performances!!! This is one of the longest runs in Sailor Moon musical history, made all the more impressive that it's happening abroad!

Gosh, I don't want to pressure you into anything, having the shows AND the Bandai guests were my biggest wishes, but I have to ask: what about the other guests' footage? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I assume the guests in the full musical footage are the ones from the final show. I don't wanna be greedy, we have SO MUCH as it is and you've already done a HUGE favour and service to us all and I'm very glad! I just! have to ask 👉 👈

I know you’re busy and have a schedule so I’m not expecting it now or soon but are you be able to sub the super live and this year’s nogimyu? I would love to see it and once again thank you for your hard work I’m really looking forward to seeing the music festival chronicle 😊

Hi there! Im thinking we will probably get around to this years Nogimyu. Can't say for sure when, but I'll be aiming to snag the Blu-ray of it. As for Super Live, unfortunately there has not been an full release of the show. Just mostly media clips and recordings from the ending concert/curtain call stuff, so we can't do a release. No matter how much we want to :(

Chronicle is in the proof reading stage and I was making good progress when life decided to explode on me this month. Got me all over the place lol. Hoping for a calm moment to get back to it soon! I really had wanted to get it out so I'll be making a push once things calm down a bit. 😊
